Alright, think of ananimal and you can give clues about the animal and we try to guess what animal is. Whoever guesses it, it is their turn. Be creative but don't make it too hard. Just to be a bit of a challenge. Alright, I will start.
Clues: it is a large animal native to North America. This animal is considered to be endangered. It can weigh up to 2500 lbs and is the largest North American land animal. It has very shagy fur and is often but incorrectly called a adifferent name. It was also nearly hunted to extinction in the late 1800s. This animal is also the only animal other than the bald eagle to appear on American currency. What animal is it?
-
I don't know about the currency, (maybe a statequarter appeared that shows this animal) but from the rest of the description I would think it to be a Bison or a Buffalo.
-
Yes, that is correct. THe bison appeared on a couple of nickles and I think but I'm not sure, one of the state quarters. Anybode who knows more about the history of our money please let me know if i am right.
-
Alright, Malte, it is your turn now.
-
Deep diver. A fictional white representative of his kind became famous through a novel.
-
I need just a bit more information than that, please.
-
I am guessing a whale because the only great white one I know was Moby Dick.
-
A little preciser please. There are many kinds of whales.
-
A humpback whale. Either that or a sperm whale.
-
Usually Moby Dick is depicted as a pot- aka sperm whale. Stitch did the -whale
F-14 the sperm- (no pun intended), so I suggest the first of you to post the next one is welcome to do so.
-
This animal is a type of horse. It is only found in the United States. It was used by Native American's and was known for its speed. A WWII fighter, the P-51 is named after it.
-
Mustang.
A mammal that is laying eggs.
-
You guessed it. And yours is a platipus. I don't know if I spelled that right of not. I hate spelling. :yes
-
Platypus it is (funnily the German name would be quite simple "Schnabeltier" which litterally means "beak animal"). Your turn.
-
Alright, it is mean, has a real bad attitude, is small, and in loony toons cartoons, can spin like a little tornado. What is it?
-
A Tazmanian Devil
-
Correct, Stitch. Your turn now.
-
It is a very fast runner, has retractable claws, and in a disney cartoon series, is always stopped by two chipmunks, two mice, and a fly.
-
A cat? It is a cat, right?
-
Yes it is. Your turn.
-
Ok. They are big, grey, resemble a blimp, live in the waters off Florida and in the Gulf of Mexico and are often getting chewed up by motor boats. What is it?
-
Alright, here is another one. Can anyone guess what my favorite animal is? Some of you may already know this.
-
I'd like a stab at the previous one--are they dolphins?
-
I suppose it would be a manatee, also known as sea cow (sadly they are often killed by motor boats).
-
The answer to the second one is in my profile both on this site and on FF.net. Malte is correct. Manatee it is. Your turn, Malte. :yes
-
Grey as a mouse
Big as a house,
Nose like a snake,
I make the earth shake,
As I tramp through the grass;
Trees crack as I pass.
With horns in my mouth,
I walk in the South,
Flapping big ears.
Beyond count of years
I stump round and round
Never lie on the ground,
Not even to die.
[...] am I,
Biggest of all,
Huge, old, and tall.
If ever you'd met me
You wouldn't forget me.
If you never do,
You won't think I'm true;
But old [...] am I,
And I never lie.
J.R.R. Tolkien
There is actually one very easy and one slightly more difficult answer to this one. For the sake of making it not to hard I'll accept either.
-
The easier one is an Oliphant (I am just taking a stab at how it is spelled).
-
That would even be the more difficult one (for all those who haven't read The lord of the rings). The really easy veriant would have been simply "elephant" (actually I'm not sure if we are allowed to pick up such fantasy creatures as an oliphant, so the possibility of the elephant would have been my excuse). An alternative name for the Oliphant would be Mummakil.
Your turn Stitch :)
-
This is scientifically known as ajidamoo.
-
Chipmunk!
-
Good job.
Your turn.
-
Big animal found in parts of the U.S. and throughout Canada. Can be very dangerous and is related to deer. Has big antlers Now if someone can't guess this then heaven help me.
-
A Moose!
-
Correct! Your turn, Action9000!
-
I can be a pest or a pet
I'm known to make a number of different sounds, including clicks
and yes, this riddle is a little cheesy
what am I?
-
A mouse?
-
Is it a mouse or a rat?
-
Alright, I have recieved no answer for three days so I'm going on. I don't mean this in a mean way either. alright, it is not real. It is green and purple, annoying, and many people consider it to be gay. I would like this thing to be placed before a firing squad or have a "misfortunate" run-in with Darth Vader. What is it?
-
^F-14, he said he's working on getting a new internet connection by his dad. Plus, members do often forget they've posted in certain games (I've done it many times).
Yours sounds like the dinosaurs we know of as Barney or Baby Bop since they're both green and purple and have been wanted to be shot and killed.
-
I would like this thing to be placed before a firing squad or have a "misfortunate" run-in with Darth Vader.
Never seen Barney myself and I reckon I wouldn't like it anymore than you. Still I find your choice of words disturbing. It sounds nothing different from the way certain people are talking about the land before time. What right do we have to be bothered about that kind of talk (so long we do bother at all while they don't put it in other forums), if we don't prove ourselves to be above that level?
-
My apologies; I actually forgot I posted in this game :slap
Anyways, you are correct with "mouse"
Speaking of games, does anyone have a guess for my "Quote Game" quote?
-
A venemous arachnid found in North America and is probably the most feared spider in this part of the world. However, its bite is very rarely fatel. It also had a marking on it's stomach and only the female is poisonous.
-
Here's a hint. There are only two specias of poisonous spiders in North America that I know of.
-
Latrodectus mactans? The black widow spider?
-
Yes. It is your turn now. By the way, there were sme mistakes in my hints. The black widow is found all over the world, not just in North America.
-
My fur coat makes the coat of arms of a French peninsula.
-
Here comes my shot in the dark:
a mink?
-
No.
I admit this one is tricky, so here is the coat of arms of that French peninsula which is to represent the fur of the animal in question:
-
Does this peninsula have a name? I tried to find something but it would be easier if I had a name.
-
It certainly does. I did not give the name away with the very intention not to make it too easy. The peninsular is part of the French mainland and it is the largest peninsular they have. The name of the peninsular was influenced by settlers from across the channel.
-
Alright, I think I found it:
Is it an ermine?
-
It is :)
And that peninsular whose coat of arms symbolises the fur of the ermine is Britany in the northwest of France (I've been there several times and it sure is a beautiful part of the world).
Your turn.
-
Small and cuddly looking? Sure
Actually cuddly? No way
My temper is almost as short as my menu, or my light-coloured fur.
-
A koala? (just a stupid wild guess).
-
Koala it is; good guess :wow
Your go!
-
Your turn F-14 :)
-
What type of dinosaur was fond on the Lewis and Clark expidition?
-
Well, all I could find was that they didn't find a dinosaur, but other prehistoric creatures--mastadon fossils and one that was named Megalonx.
-
Actually, they did find a dinosaur. I don't think they took it with them but from the article said it was most likely a t-rex.
-
What article?
-
The article in my American History book. I can't post it on here because it is not online. I can't imagine that the dook would lie to me. It may have been refering to the other prehistoric thing they found. But it said a dinosaur.
-
Alright, since the last one is too uncirtian, I will just post another question. It is a type of moth found throughout North America. It is lime green with eye-like spots on the wing. It also has a wingspan of 8-11 centemeters. What type of moth is it? (I also read in an insect book that it was an endangered species but I'm not sure if that is true or not. Especially, since they are quite common around here and I see them all the time up at summer camp.)
-
I am going to guess the Luna moth.
-
I looked it up. I think Stitch is right.
