Mo Showcase - September 2021

This month we would like to introduce a true mud brother to the fandom - Mo!

In this topic please feel free to discuss Mo as a character, to share your own creations (fanfics or fanart) concerning him, or to mention some of your favorite fanworks of others involving him.  For a full set of rules please see the 2021 Monthly Character Showcase topic but keep in mind that this is meant to be fun as opposed to any sort of contest.

I will go ahead and get the discussion started with the following questions:

1. What are your general impressions of Mo as a character?

2. Do you think the gang is aware that he is technically a swimming sharptooth? How do you think this knowledge would affect the gang’s relationship with Mo if it was known?

1. Mo's cute. He's a likeable sort, and I think he's fairly unique character-wise. We love our mud brothers 

2. If they are, I don't think it matters much to them that he's a Sharptooth; they're certainly not against befriending them ( ) Even still, it might be worth exploring their Sharpteeth relations more, especially if they live in a completely different biome. Are Leafeaters prejudiced or just cautious when it comes to these Sharpteeth? Bet Topps would answer that well, lol

I love mo. He's such a fun character. Rob Paulsen did a great job voicing him as always.

1. My opinion on Mo seems to change rather often. Loved him as a kid, found him very annoying as a teen, and now I think he's pretty cute... not to mention, f-u-u-u-u-n! He's pretty unique both design and voice wise, I do love what Rob Paulsen did with him.

2. They probably aren't aware but I suppose as long as he doesn't want to have his mud brothers/sisters for dinner I guess they'll be okay with it. It might be like their relationship with Chomper where they find his diet pretty gross but they love him as a friend anyway.

Oh my god Mo is so cute!  Hes just a loveable dolphin who wants to have fun with his mud brothers.

I like Mo, because he is not only cute, but also always happy, and is a good friend to the gang. Personally, I do not think, that the gang would mind, that he eats meat, because he eats probably fish, and not terrestrial animals. He could easily have attacked Littlefoot, when he was underwater to eat him, if he wanted to.

Watching the movie a while back, I didn't come to realize that he was a meat eater. I'm sure the kids wouldn't mind him being sharptooth. It isn't the first time they've made friends with a meat eater! 

His personality adds endless cheerfulness and fun, and he is awfully cute!

1. What are your general impressions of Mo as a character?

My first impression of Mo was that he is the cutest character since Chomper (LBTII). He really broke into new territory as a friend who is a swimmer that can’t leave the water. I love his signature “Mooo!” Which I have mastered in my attempts at imitation.

2. Do you think the gang is aware that he is technically a swimming sharptooth? How do you think this knowledge would affect the gang’s relationship with Mo if it was known?

I am not sure the Gang really thought about it. If they did realize he’s a swimming sharptooth, I think it wouldn’t change anything, after all they accepted and are friends with Chomper who is sharptooth. That is something about the Gang I appreciate, there is no prejudices.

Mo!    Mo is one of my favorite supporting characters in the series. He's certainly not for everyone - I think it would be very easy to find him annoying, but he bounced off of the main five in a really interesting way that pretty much made the entire movie worth watching.

Personally I don't think the gang would mind him being a sharptooth much at all, since they've been shown to be very tolerant and accepting of all sorts of critters and species different from themselves. Like everyone else in this thread has pointed out, they befriended Chomper knowing full well he was a sharptooth from the beginning.   

Seeing all his cameos throughout the movies has always been a treat. I love to see some love being given to him!
