Who's Balto?
The real Balto was a part of the legendary 1925 Serum Run og Nome, where over 150  dogs and 20 musher relaying it from Nenana to Nome, Alaska.  Serveral dogs used in the dled run include Fritz, Fox, Balto, Blackie, and proably the most remembered besides Balto, Togo. The temas ran over 674, in just 5 1/2 days (most of it in the dark)

~~~~
This movie, released in 1995, was based VERY loosly on the Serum Run. In the movie, Blato is a outcas half-dog, half-wolf who just wants to run. Bullied by the top sled dog, Steele and his team, Balto has very few friends including Boris the snow goose; Muk and Luk, two polor bears who cannot swim; and Jenna, the beuatiful husky.
When the diptheria strikes Nome in the winter of 1925, Balto is left out of the Serum Run Team and watches as the dogs race out of a town to get the medicine Nome so desperatly needs.
On the way back with the medicine, Steele leads his team past the second checkpoint, getting themselves seriously and totally lost. Balto goes after them with his gang of misfit creatures to bring the team home and save Nome from what could be the most terrifying enemy of all.
~~~~~~

Haha, I sound like a commerical. This is what I get for having a sister obsessed with Balto.
Petrie, what do you want to know? I can ask Balto Source's admin, who might have a clue.

Oohh boy. I love to stump you all...oh I know the PERFECT one.

There are 11 full-legnth animated features that only have a one word title. What are they?
Remember: "The" counts! And it cannot be associated with Pixar and MUST be 2-D! :yes

haha. As much as I really hate to admit it, I'm a fan of HSM.

It was rather...cute and cheesy, and it was rather intresting to see Disney doing an actual TV musical. True, it DID become bigger than i ever hoped (or wanted) it to be, but still, we all know Disney's ways. Make. money. Fast.

The second one was OK...it was like almsot all Disney sequels. Cheaply made, rushed, having absolutly nothing to do with the original. And while the budget was triple the first, one would think they'd have a better script or effect. (the total 'Lion King' moment during 'Bet On It' haha.)

What did you think of the music, those who've seen it?

Hey! I remember the animator came on Balto Source and asked us for animators, since the style is like Balto. Sadly, I only have my pencil and paper, so it's a no-go right now....but you all should really do it! Get a head strat on animation...or maybe brushing off old skills.

Have fun and you all have my full support! ^^

haha, look at Balto. He doesn't even have the right coloring. I do admit they do look a little...odd. haha. But at least it's the movies! ^^

When was the last time this sucker was released on DVD...2003-ish? I sadly never got the chance to get any animated films from the '80s because of poor DVD release and my procrastination habit. among the films that have not been relesed was Balto, who many on Balto Source have been gunning for a Special edition DVD or even a re-release, since the last time Balto came out was in 2003.

And now, prepare yourselves for this.
On Balto Source, our admin, Steet, posted something for those in the US (and Australia, AKA my old neck o' the woods.)

Universal is going to release a dvd pack with these three films :

-Balto
-An American Tail
-The Land Before Time

Now, for Balto fans, this is a HUGE step in the right direction, we have been fighting and singing a petition for near a year as well as letters, repeated e-mails, and just plain support.
Now, the 3-pack is being release November 6th, 2007...so very very soon. It will be $20.00 for all three movies, which is a good buy. for those who don't know Balto, I highly recommend it!
More people will get to know these animated films from the '80s and '90s...sadly, some people on Balto Source did not know what An American Tail is. Hopefully, this is a step to where you want to be too, getting people to know the original as well as the sequels, since the original is rather hard to find (i've been tracking for quite some time! <_< ) I see that some of you are gunning for a Land Before Time Special edition DVd...and while this may not be it...it IS a step in the right direction, getting more people to watch it and want to learn more about it. Hopefully, this DVD 3-pack will help you as well as us Balto fans!

Hi! Welcome to the Great valley! :D

heh. We seem to have a few things in common. I think we'll make good friends! :) I hope to see you around! And if you like Art, you can go check the Fanart boards for my art! :D Do you have any art?
Hi The Great Valley Guardian and Achillobator!

Ach--> Yes, I do enjoy fan art. Sadly at this time, I can only draw from various Disney Classics (The Lion King, Fox and the Hound, Oliver and Company, and most recently, Lady and the Tramp) and All Dogs Go To Heaven, and Balto. I'd love to see your art! I'll go check it out right now!

The score can really set the mood for any movie in my opinon. It can take a movie in different direction just by the pace or the instruments used. I think the score made the movie all the more sadder with the use of the...I think it was the oboe? (please feel free to correct me! :yes)
