I honestly have no other ideas, so let me just suggest something..

Mr. Stick, maybe take a nap to pass time and see if anything happens?

Mr. Stick, maybe take a nap to pass time and see if anything happens?

Sigh...

Mr. Stick didn't want to do this. He wanted to stay awake and find the solution...
But he would lie to himself if he said he wasn't stuck. He is out of ideas what to do, and he's very tired.

Maybe small nap will help him to get strength and find a solution. Maybe something will happen if he spend some time.

...

Mr. Stick made up his mind.

Being tired and sad, he turns off the lights in the room, goes to the corner and sits.

...

Will he ever escape this place?..

Only the time will say.

Mr. Stick closes his eyes.

...

...

I'm disappointed

Goodbye, Steve.

<And here ends Mr. Stick Adventure. :(
It ends not as I planned, but I think it's time.
It has been 4 years since the start, and 2 years since last puzzle was introduced.

Originally I planned many chapters, but after seeing extremely low activity, I decided to end the game after you solve the last puzzle... but it still wasn't cracked.
I hoped you guys would solve it. After all, it was supposed to be the last puzzle in the chapter, I tried to do everything to help you. But... alas.

If you are interested what was the solution: you can find the answer in last post, in this last cutscene.
If you still don't get it after rereading the cutscene... Look at the picture in this post: https://www.gangoffive.net/index.php?topic=15974.msg535204#msg535204
The last picture, after you eliminated every other object from both rooms. And still failed to see one last single correct solution. :P

Anyway, thank you very much everyone who participated in this game!
See you up ahead.

As for Mr. Stick... Don't worry. :)
In another timeline, he's all right, and continues to solve the puzzles to get out this place. In another community, where I originally posted first chapters. Hope someday he will find the exit.

See you in other future projects!>

Okay...if I was still active on the forum, I think I would've tried... well hold on...

So I've collected these three pictures, first one with everything still in the room, with the last one being the cutscene where all objects were eliminated except the hole that leaders to the ladder room. I tried really hard to compare them and see if there's anything that I or anyone else has missed, since that last picture had one last correct solution according to you.

I... still don't see anything. :feelsbadman

We're sorry that we failed you, Mr. Stick. :(petrie

To make you know:
The solution for the puzzle was crushing the box open with closing the hatch trapdoor.

Rest in Peace, Mr. Stick...  :duckysad

I would love to say that it was obvious in hindsight...but honestly wow, I don't really know if it is.

Okay, the solution was to crush the box by closing the hatch trapdoor.

However, you hadn't explained the process in which to do that.

I'm gonna brainstorm here. If I recall earlier on, we made the hatch trapdoor open by pressing the green button in the panel box, and the button was only green because we put the metal rod into the hole in the panel box.

Let me know if this sequence is correct. So, Mr. Stick had to wedge the box between the hatch opening, half of it sticking out and half of it down in the ladder chute. And then, he has to...press the green button again to close it? Or would removing the rod make the button turn red, which then would close the trapdoor. Which one achieves that?

That must be a strong hatch to succeed where chucking the box down a one-story ladder didn't

yes, you had to insert the rod to make button activated again, then press it again after putting the end of the box in hatch opening.

Of course it is strong, powerful mechanisms are always stronger than human force or simple force of gravity.

Even in the bad end, this hatch door traps you, symbolizes how the puzzle defeated you. :P

RIP. So what was actually in the box? Since it’s the last puzzle, was it the key to the door?

yes, it was the last puzzle in Chapter 1, and one of items inside the box was the key to the door.

Hmm...I guess the loud slam of the hatch door opening should've been an indication...but idk, throwing a large box down the chute also causes a large slam. :(

I guess point is...since none of us even thought at all about the trapdoor (aside from it leading to another room), it was out of mind the whole time despite being in sight, ironically enough. :confused

Dang, we really tried everything except the solution that would set Mr. Stick free. And yeah, criticize Mo-o-o all yo-o-ou want about waving the blue keycard in front of everything, but at least the fishy was thinking outside the box, right... right? :p

Looks like we had to think inside the box after all. :petrienotamused

yes, it is.

The rest of your life, you will live with guilt about how you doomed Mr. Stick. hahaha

---

well, I did literally EVERYTHING to help you with solution. I even erased EVERY SINGLE OBJECT except that hatch... There was no other way I could help.

Yes, mysterious figure from the shadows, Mo-o-o indeed do-o-oes live with the guilt! He does, he does! :duckysad
It's not Mr. Stick's fault for our incompetence!

I do hope he magically gives Mr. Stick a second chance. (But really, this was a super fun puzzle game though. It was only when we started losing motivation as we ran very dry on ideas, not to mention the dwindling activity of the forum didn't help matters at all, was when this puzzle thread fell into ruin.)

Basically what Mo-o-o is saying, if you haven't given up all hope on the Gang of Five community, you will bless us with another fun puzzle to solve. :lol :oops

P.S: How many of these comic panels for Mr. Stick were made on the fly? And if they were pre-made, I'm wondering if the "TRAGIC END" for Mr. Stick was made solely for us. :feelsbadman

Answering first question: unfortunately, I am not planning to make any puzzle games here anymore. I tried, like tthat simple game of rebuses, but it failed again, so I don't see a point.

This forum quest game were originally meant for quest/puzzle games' players, I wanted to see if this project can work here on this forum. And it leads to the second question: as I mentioned before, this game were originally started on different forum.
Back then, literally all pictures were made "on the fly", nothing were planned or drawn ahead. I just drawn starting room and asked people what to do, then I reacted on these responses, writing improvised text and drawing new improvised items, objects, rooms, cutscenes, backstory, and, of course, puzzles. And so, it has been continuing for several chapters, until the moment I decided to change methods of creating the story, so I started to plan ahead. But soon after... this story died on that forum too, due to the death of the forum itself. T-T
When I restarted this game here, of course I had all previously created content in my hands, texts and pictures, so if your actions were the same as your predecessors, I simply copy-pasted stuff here. But for your new unique responses, since this story is open for any action Mr. Stick can be given, I had to draw new puctures of course (including sad end for Mr. Stick).

P.S. Mr. Stick has a second chance at this moment. Or rather, third chance... Since old forum is reanimated on Discord group right now, I am planning to continue it there. :) Mr. Strick will live and will get his freedom!
