As Prizma deliberated what to say, her computer screen suddenly blinked on, bearing a message: Eavesdropping device detected.

Vega. Of course...well, Prizma would just have to have a bit of fun with this.

Pointing to the computer, then to the wall that stood between them and Vega, Prizma signaled Ring with a playful wink.

"It's hard to say about those files," she muttered, "but there's a more pressing matter I've been meaning to discuss with you." Mischief twinkling in her eyes, she hissed, "I've been wondering if I should advise the Commander to move Vega down a rank in the program. With his childish behavior lately, I fear the stress of being an agent has taken its toll on him. Using important equipment, listening devices, for instance, for his own silly whims. Not to mention his snoring at night is incredibly disruptive to everyone's sleep. They've said he's louder than a hyperspace shuttle's engine..."

-------

Ducky was too focused on what Littlefoot had just revealed to notice Rinkus nearby. "Of course we believe you, Littlefoot. We are your friends," she assured him with a smile.

"It must have been amazing," Ruby gasped as she imagined what Littlefoot must have witnessed. "I wish we could see what you saw for yourself for all of ourselves!" She thought seeing Sky Beings in person must have been just as amazing as when she and her friends were able to see Hidden Runner. "Do you think they'll ever return here?"

Vega could never outsmart his sister, no matter what he did. He knew when he was defeated.

"You win, Prizma." Vega said through the wall. "Please inform me what is going on tomorrow."

Littlefoot wanted to answer Ruby's question.

"Well Ruby, last time the Rainbow Faces were here, Far-walkers came. The Stone also landed on Threehorn Peak. But I don't know if either of those things had anything to do with the Rainbow Faces showing up," Littlefoot said. "They haven't been back here for a while."

Cera hated thinking about if the Rainbow Faces came back. "If those Rainbow Faces came back, I would give them a piece of my mind!"

Gnosasaur lead the Flyer into the canyon. The winding serpentine path with walls higher than longneck necks encompasses them. The two were bathed in shadows and then rays of the Bright Circle. They came to an enterance carved into the wall of orangeish brown rock. Two mighty pillars stood, with runes in the shapes of squares, triangles and lines. There were four pillars on the two story tall gate, the door of which was sealed. The door was topaz colored each with more markings. Gnosasaur placed the scepter end into the hole in the center and the doors flung open. Inside they came to naturally formed rock tunnels and corridors, the scepter’s shard began to glow giving light. The Concavenator seemed to know the path, he sensed the Flyer’s awe and the subtle urge to sieze the scepter for himself. They came down to a lower chamber, the room was square and in the center a half pillar in a hexagon shaoe, upon it a mid sized orb so blue it matched the shard in the scepter. Gnosasaur pointed to the stone, “There it is, The Stone of Cold Fire. Go ahead, take it, its yours” [hidden intent: Gnosasaur prompted the Flyer to step forward, knowing a trap lay ahead for any who touch the Stone]

————————

Ringus took note that Prizma deflected the question to her brother. When they were students she often would avoid the question with other information. Ring’s hair shaped spikes made a sizzling rattling sound, this often happened when he was irritated or angry. “Your brother’s eavesdropping matters little to me, what disturbs me is the censorship of information regarding the Forerunners.” Ring stepped back towards the porthole to space, his eyes aflame. “The Mysterium has waylaid my research before, but my research put an end to the Ptero Wars. By harnessing the knowledge from the Forerunners I brought peace and protection! And yet despite this, the Elders along with Mysterium curb my progress! Its infuriating!” Ring felt his tempo (pitch) rise, the raptor shriek that was used by primitives to terrify prey came out loud and clear. Ring caught himself, “I.. I apologize.. I don’t know what came over me. You shoukd never have been subjected to such.. disgraceful behavior.” Ring turned back to Prizma, his orb circles around his eues furrowing and his face downcast.

———————

Petrie listened as they speculated about the Sky Beings and Rainbowfaces. When they were puzzled about Prerano, Petrie gulped. He had been meeting his Uncle near Saurus Rock, in a cave. Pterano welcomed his nephew with his large wingspan, “Petrie, my boy! I am so glad you have come.” The voice of his Uncle was soothing and kindly. Against the wishes of his mother and the Herd in the Great Valley Petrie kept his returned Uncle’s presence a secret. “Petrie, I have come to relate to you the wisdoms I have gleaned from Ptergypt, and beyond!” Petrie listened to his wise Uncle tell of The Ancients, of wonders that filled Petrie’s imagination. Petrie came back to the Gang from his recalling, they were all disputing if Littlefoot spoke the truth. Petrie kept silent, he believed Littlefoot because of what Pterano had told him, but the little Pterosaur would not betray his Uncle and explain he learned of stories about The Stone of Cold Fire.

Sierra was in pure awe… He barely noticed what the sharptooth said before stepping forward instinctively… Just then it hit him like lightning. Did he just openly offerred the stone to him? Such a legendary mythical artifact just like that? Sierra turned. "Hold on a moment… Didn't you need the stone's power to find that Sanctum of something?" He looked at Gnosasaur suspiciously… If this was someone like Pterano it be another thing, but this is a sharptooth... Although the urges to touch the stone are fighting against his gut feelings of danger.

Spike made faint giggling mumbles at what Cera said. Knowing them, they might give her a piece of their mind instead. Spike thought.

Chomper thought about what Littlefoot said. "I wonder if they'll come again if another
stone lands near the valley?" Chomper suggested.

Rinkus finally managed to start fishing nearby… He was fortunate to have caught a fish swimming about. He immediately hides upon seeing a silhouette of a big dino. He has the cover of the night, but he isn't gonna take it for granted, not in such a cornered state.

Fortunately, Prizma wasn't fazed much by Ring's outburst. Unlike others in the program, she'd always been able to see that his intelligence and heart outweighed his sharptooth instincts, and she'd trusted him despite his occasional temper. Though it was only natural that she'd been taken aback by Ring's raptor cry seconds ago, but as his shame became clear, she came closer to him once again, forcing his eyes to meet hers.

"I know you," Prizma told him. "I have no fear of you. But for your own good, you would do wise to keep your instincts in check. Others, sadly, are not so forgiving." She turned her focus back to the issue at hand. "It was never you I wanted to conceal information from, but I apologize for not explaining things sooner." Leaning closer, she hissed, "However, I would prefer a more private place for our discussion. Vega has just proven that anyone could listen in on us here." She glanced towards Vega's room.

Prizma had been caught off guard by her brother's reaction to her teasing. She'd been expecting to get under his skin a little, but the mature response he'd given her instead made her feel guilty. He hadn't been eavesdropping to annoy her, he'd been doing it because he really was concerned about her...

Prizma turned back towards Ring. "The three of us," she said. "The three of us will meet tomorrow." As something else occurred to her, she added, "You should go back to your room, before anyone wonders about that screeching sound."

-------

"It could happen," Ducky eagerly agreed with Chomper. "It could, it could!"

"I wonder how rare a Stone of Cold Fire is? I'd never heard of one before, not even in the Mysterious Beyond," said Ruby. "I hope there will be another one someday so Chomper and I can see what all of you saw." With a yawn, however, she suddenly realized how tired she was. "I think now, though, it would be good for us to go home and get a good night's sleep."

Vega was worried about Prizma. She hadn't slept for the past 4 days. He also was worried about Ring's screech. He didn't exactly trust Ring, considering he was the only sharptooth on the space station. Vega decided that he should go to bed. He shut the electronic blinds with his remote, and went to sleep.

Littlefoot yawned. He didn't realize how tired he was.

"Okay guys, I'll see you tomorrow." Littlefoot said, as he walked backed home.

Cera heard Spike giggling near a bush. "What's so funny?" Cera asked Spike grumpily. "Well, I'm going home. And if anyone says anything about the Rainbow Faces, or Stone, they're not going to say anything else for a long time."

Gnosasaur saw that the clever Flyer would not be coaxed so easily. The Ruby colored Concavenator then took a step on the golden tiles leading to the Stone. His long serpentine length body twisted beneath the open dome cieling that bathed the stone in light. “If you do not desire the Stone, I shall take it.” Gnosasaur reached for the Stone, the tip of his claw nearly scatching the surface. He could feel the stone’s pulse, it hummed and his sapphire diamond chest piece lit up. “Oh Stone, one of the wonders of the Ancients, bestow upon me thy knowledge..” The Crafty Concavenator could feel his pterosaur companion’s unrest, was this the moment?

———————

Ring tried to restore his composure as he took in the words of affirmation Prizma spoke to him. Her voice had always steadied him, he felt the primal stirrings calm. She always knew what to say. The suggestion that they meet to doscuss the matter of the sealed files in a more secure location met with Ring’s approval, he nodded, and the warning that he should depart lest someone come to inquire about his shriek was met with another nod. He bowed his head and said, “tell tomorrow then my friend.” With that gesture he left Prizma’s quarters. He had reached the second corridor when his datapad came alive with noise and lit up blue, he held the device in hand. “What? How?! Someone is attempting to breach my safety seal on the Second Stone!” Ring rushed to his quarters, sealed the door and plugged his datapad in the a screen on the wall. A beacon appeared on the screen, and the Temple of Petras was laid out in blue prints. Ring’s hair spikes rattled, he tries to get a closer look, but the camera feed was grainy and distorted, he could only get a glimpse of a head, it was a Sharptooth, and then the feed went dead. Ring crackled his claws, this was unprecedented, his safe guards had never been successfully bypassed, and by a sharptooth? While he himself was indeed a sharptooth, never had any bipedal carnivour interfered with the technology of the Ancients. There was an incident not long ago of Pterosaurs trying to sieze The Stone of Cold Fire, but that did not suprise Ringus, Pterosaurs built the Pteromaids and knew the Forerunners. This other sharptooth was another story. Ring knew by now the Elders were being briefed by the Watchasaurs, his division of Safe Guard Sentinels who monitor all sites of the Forerunners and the chief artifacts. However, only he had tknowledge of this strange sharptooth. It was time for him to report to the Elders. Perhaps now they might oblige his request to make an expedition on the surface.

——————

Petrie yawned, he was weary of the discussion and still miffed that his friends, except forc Littlefoot did not believe him about the Stone of Cold Fire. Petrie began to flap his wings snd hover, “Night Night everyone.” He flew back towards hus neat when he was intercepted by anither Flyer that emerged from behind some cliffs. “Uncle Pterano?! You can’t be here! If Momma sees you are back.” Pterano swooped around his nephew and said in his pleasent tome, “Petrie my boy, do not worry so much. The Bright Circle is fading and I have come to tell you something of great importance.”

Sierra couldn't take it anymore, he didn't want to leave anything to chance! He made a mad dash! He pushes the Gnosasaur's claw aside and slams his entire hand on the stone. "Sorry! But I waited too long for this! Great Stone! Give me your almighty power!!"

"See yah! Good night!" Chomper waved as he went with Ruby.

Not that I'll talk about it, Spike thought as a response to Cera. He smiles waving a paw as to say good night. After Petrie left, Spike offer's Ducky to ride on his back to their nest through a gesture to his back.

Rinkus is trying to find a place to hide… Morning is coming. Just then he saw that little flyer again, Pterano's nephew. If he heard correctly those brats were talking about the Stone of Cold Fire. As done as he was with that stone, he managed to overhear a key fact. The Rainbow Faces are related to the Forerunners somehow. He wants any shot of finding any real power, Stone of Cold Fire, Ptergypt, ancients, or whatever, he has to find those Rainbow Faces. Just then… Pterano… He recognized that silhouette from anywhere… He hides nearby… To him Pterano is nothing more than a fool… But after what he heard earlier, this might be important.

It just so happened that Ducky and Spike were heading home close by, not aware that Rinkus was near. But Ducky thought she saw something move out of the corner of her eye, and she jumped, startled. Now that the gang had dispersed, she and Spike were on their own now...or so she'd thought.

"Hello?" Ducky called out tentatively, looking towards where Rinkus had been. "Littlefoot, is that you?"

Vega laid down when he got a notification that the Stone of Cold Fire was being disturbed. He needed to come meet Ring and the Watchasaurs tomorrow. Vega didn't trust Ringus. No matter how tamed he seemed, he could still see the sharptooth instincts in him. He'll let out a growl here and there, and may even screech. But, if the Stone was being disturbed, Vega knew that he had to go and see the situation in the morning.

Gnosasaur gave a wicked smile as pterosaur made contact with the Stone of Cold Fire. A blue light surrounded the Flyer and froze him in ice. Gnosasaur walked over to the hexagon liklar and held the stone in his hand. He turned to Sierra and said, “Knowledge is not siezed my flyer friend, it is earned. Now you have tasted the fruit of impatience. I could leave you in the ice, but now that you’ve learned your lesson I offer you the Stone.” The Concavenator stepped towards the pterosaur, his hump swaying neneath the sun light. Gnosasaur took the Stone and placed it as Pterosaur’s feet. He then using his Sapphire directed the sunlight at Sierra, melting the ice. The Crafty Concavenator made lanky walk towards his partner. “This is but one of four stones, the remaining three are across this planet. If you have any hope of findimg them, you will need my expertise. The Four Stones open the sealed Tomb of the Ancients here in Ptergypt. Let me be perfectly clear, if you cross me again, I will leave you in the traps to come and finish the quest alone. Is that understood Flyer?”

————————

Ringus had spent an hour listening to the Elders debate the best course of action. Most of them had a consensus that this was but another Pterano level incident that would run its course and fizzle out. Ring objected, “Respectfully, I disagree. Pterano and his Pterosaur posse never bypassed my fail safes and security traps. Whoever has done this has acute knowledge of Forerunner tech and is going to exploit the Stone. I suggest I and party of Rainbow Security Forces go to the surface and confront this disturbance.” One of the elders, a Gallimimus with grey and yellow skin said, “You said in your feed this tresspasser was a not a pterosaur but a bipedal Theropod of the Carcharodontosauridae family. How is that possible? No sharptooth has ever disturbed the relics of the Ancients before, other than native Pterosaurs.” Ring wanted to let out a roar, his hair spikes rattling with frustration he felt inside. “I know, but there is a first for everything.” The Elders consulted among themselves, and the Old One said, “We will send two inquistors to verify what is happening down there, but we decline your request to lead a security team to the surface..” Ring let out a screech, which mad the Elders shake involuntarily. “Decline? Decline! That is all I hear from the Mysterium and from you old koots!” One of Elders chimed, “Careful Ringus! Show some respect.” Ring crackled his claws, a very wicked thought entered his head. He then regained composure, and said, “I..I apologize your most reverend Elders.” The Old One held a datapad and said, “This meeting is over, you may go Ring.”  Ringus bowed, his peridot and yellow jasper body shimmering beneath the lights. He returned to Watch Room, where Watchasaurs were mointering screens and trying to gather info on the incident. Ring looked at the gaint screen on the wall when a Gallimimus of yellow and purple reported, “we’ve had an alert at the Temple of Petras, the Stone’s signature is faded. Which means..” Ring finished his sentence, “someone has removed it from the sacred pillar. Wake every Watchasaur and have them report to this station, we are going to get to the bottom of this.”

————————

Pterano and Petrie met in the cave by the Great Pass. Petrie gave a yawn, “Me tired Uncle Pterano..” Pterano gave a wide smile, “Petrie my boy, I have found it!” Petrie yawned, “found what?” Pterano said with glee, “Another Stond of Cold Fire! Its buried here, in Saurus Rock.” Petrie squinted, “Oh dat.. me thought you done with Stone of Fire.” Pterano took hus nephew by the sing, “Yes, but that was tell I learned in a scroll in Ptergypt that there are four stones, which open a ancient tomb!” Petrie have a grumpy stare, “You not gonna go looking for em again are you?” Pterano nodded his crested head and beak, “Yes, and I want you to come with me.” Petrie’s eyes got big and white, the pupils like little black dots, then he began laughing really hard, “Muhahaha!” Pterano made serious face, “Petrie.. please do not laugh, this is a sacred matter.” Petrie rebounded after some more giggling. “Me not gonna go lookin for stones, me staying right here in The Great Valley where it is safe. Wait.. methinks, did you come to Valley just for da stone?” Petrie’s face became downcast, “You came for stone, not to see me. Right? Right!” Pterano tried to comfort his upset nephew with his mighty wings, “no my boy, I wanted to see you. I wanted you to help me find the stones, that we could have an adventure together, like father and son, uncle and nephew.” Petrie turned in the shadow of his uncle’s wings. Petrie had not knowm his father, and so looked to Pterano like a father figure. “Will it be scary? Will it be dangerious?” Pterano wrapped his arms around his little nephew and raised him up to shoulder length. “It may be at times frightening, but I will let no harm come to you.” Petrie tried to sound brave, “Well methinks if Its safe.. me go.” Pterano hugged his nephew tightly, “excellent! We will search for the first stone here, this will make your away time from your mother shorter. Oh and don’t tell those friends of yours. Last time they were like oil in water to this quest.” Petrie didn't like lying, but he agreed not to tell anyone about their impending adventure. Petrie went home and took his snuggling stick and fell fast asleep.

The flyer grasps his talons into fists. Sweats from a combination of both anger and fear form, indistinguishable from the water of the melted ice he grits his teeth. Normally he'd lash out, but it's clear to him that he is dealing with forces he can't comprehend or control. "I understand." He said with a sigh. "I should have listened to my gut more." Any thought of betrayal has vanished, reward or not he will continue on this venture. Better than that wild goose chase with Pterano. If he is lucky, he might find the reward he seeks.
----

Come on!? That brat again? Rinkus didn't know what to do. If he got found out it's over! He'd surely be ganged up upon from everywhere if they learned anything from the last time he was in the valley with Pterano and Sierra. In a panic Rinkus attempts to mimic Littlefoot. "Oh snickery doo-dah! Don't mind me, I am off to get me some sleep!" This is a waste of time! At this rate Pterano will be gone! He thought gritting his flyer teeth.

Spike tilts his head to the darkness. Either that's the worst Littlefoot impression, or it could be that Littlefoot isn't feeling well… The first option sounds better. Spike looks into the darkness unamused. He gently rolls Ducky off of him, and get's in front of her, ready to protect her from whatever is  nearby. When he heard that voice, it sounded familiar enough to know that it is a threat to his sister.

"I do not think I know that voice," Ducky muttered. Then she frowned. "But...I am not sure..." Coming to a decision, she looked Spike in the face. "Thank you for protecting me, Spike. But I am going to see who this is. It sounded-ed sort of familiar, whoever is there!" She hopped over Spike's neck, then stroked the top of his head, not wanting him to worry. "I will be careful, I will."

Ducky crept closer to where the voice had come from, as quietly as she could manage. In a moment, she was able to pick a nearby silhouette out of the nighttime shadows--a silhouette that was familiar, indeed!

"Rinkus!" Ducky couldn't help gasping in fright as she recognized the devious flier. The last time she'd encountered him and his friends in the middle of the night, it hadn't ended well, and she wasn't going to let that happen this time. She'd make sure someone came to boot him out of the valley before Sierra and Pterano turned up next! "Help, HELP!" Ducky shrieked. "Someone, anyone, HELP!"

-------

Prizma was jolted out of her sleep by the notification that sounded from Vega's computer. She couldn't be sure what he was being alerted of, but she leaped up from her bed, anxious to find out if it was what she feared...

She sprinted out of her room and gave her brother's door an urgent knock. "What was that?" she inquired.

"Oh, that was a message. I have to meet the Watchasaurs and Ringus," Vega explained. He walked out of their area on the space station until he made it to his destination.

"Help!" Littlefoot heard in the distance. It was Ducky who screamed.

"Hang on Ducky, I'm coming!" Littlefoot said as he ran off.

Cera was just about to get home, when she heard the yell. "Ducky!" Cera screamed, pursuing in the direction the scream came from.

Littlefoot and Cera both met at the same time. "Where are the others?" Littlefoot asked. "Anyone here?"
