Character Showcase / Re: Bron Showcase - October 2021
« on: October 19, 2021, 09:11:19 PM »
Bron is without a doubt a retcon.  The worst things about retcons is that they can end up not meshing well with previous stories.  In this case, it probably would have made more sense if Bron remained with us believing him to be dead.  The longer you go without introducing him, the harder it would be to come up with a good story of why he was gone when he does appear.

In my opinion, they waited too long to introduce him.  It probably would've been better if they introduced him in the early sequels.  Though I don't know where he could have been introduced in the first place.

That all being said, he's not a bad character.  He just has a bad backstory.  It's really what brings him down and what too many tend to focus on when talking about him.

He really is a good leader and it's sad his backstory is what hurts him in the end.

New modem means new connection test!

First test, via Ethernet Cable!

Pretty good, if I do say so myself!

Edit: Looks like it's the same without the Ethernet Cable.

Never had it so good. :cerasmug

Hello, everyone!  I'm messaging from a certain location I'll talk about in another topic.

For now, here's the test speed of our internet connection here.

This is incredibly good.  Especially for what we plan to do with the place in question.

I would argue Pokemon Gold Version on Gameboy Color.  It especially went up when I got Pokemon Stadium 2 for N64.  You have to understand that back then, we had little way to save our Pokemon.  With those storage boxes on Pokemon Stadium 2, we were able to store them again and restart the game.

Yes, I did restart multiple times just to get my whole team to have Earthquake.  Give me a reason why I shouldn't. :P

You know what?  I think I'm back! :)

After watching the new movie, and very much enjoying it, I think it's time I went back and finish watching what I missed.  I know it won't be easy, but I'm determined to get back into it.

So, yeah.  I think the new movie has reignited my love for the franchise.

I'll be fully back when I finally catch up.  I promise to pop in every now and then.  For now, I need to finish the G4 Series.

Considering where I left off, I'd best be ready for the worst.

See ya later! :wave

50 minute ad recently watched.  New personal record!

No, I am not impressed, YouTube.  I'm disappointed.

Just disappointed they didn’t get the original voice actors.

I'm not surprised.  It's probably both easier and cheaper to hire the ones they did.

Anyways, I'm most interested to see what Mario and Bowser will sound like.  Jack Black is good at his job, so I'm hoping he doesn't mess it up.

Well, since the last poster didn't transform the next poster, (me in this case) I shall transform the next poster into a snake.

Computer and Electronics / Re: Muama Ryoko - A Handheld Modem
« on: September 08, 2021, 07:48:15 PM »

Well, guess this is an unworthy replacement for my connection.  I tested it with my XBox Series X and that thing chugged!  I guess online gaming with this thing is out of the question at this point.

I've got a few other things I want to test as a replacement for my connection.  We'll see how things go.

Computer and Electronics / Muama Ryoko - A Handheld Modem
« on: September 07, 2021, 07:16:31 AM »
Introducing, the Muama Ryoko, a wi-fi Modem you can take with you.

I got this less than a week ago and have been testing it.  I had a difficulty or two getting it to work, but I got it working.

Now, I will admit that I got a little distraught when I saw the reviews of some not getting theirs.  However, I took precautions and paid via Paypal.  That way, if I didn't get it, I would be able to refund it with little trouble.  I chose to give them a month due to the chip shortage going on.  I got mine in a little over two weeks.  Looks like since it arrived, and it freaking works, they can keep my money.

The modem comes with a SIM Card that gives you 500 MB to use at your leisure.  I'm using it as a test.

I want all of you to look at the following comparison I made.

The top one is the Muama Ryoko.  The bottom is my current plan from Comcast, (not connected via Ethernet Cable) which I pay $100 per month for.  Needless to say, I might be switching providers soon, considering the two are rather close to one another in terms of speed.  Now, the advertisement does boast far better speed.  I'll have to mess around with it to see if I can do better.  At this point, it's tempting to switch.

I will note that the main problem I had was connecting my phone to it.  Why it only worked after I scanned the QR Code is beyond me.  At least once I got it connected it worked.  I can connect to articles and YouTube with little trouble.  The fact I can watch videos on it with little trouble was a good deal.  One thing I'll note is how it changed the advertisements I get.  They were all in a foreign language.  I'm guessing it has to do with it connecting to the main server, which I found to be in Estonia of all places.

I tested my laptop with it and could connect to my favorite stuff with little trouble.  Sites tend to work quite well.  I ran into hardly any issues.  I am hesitant to go onto my main money making site with it.  I don't want to risk my account there at the moment.

I gave it a test go last night when me and my parents went out to eat.  The place we chose doesn't have wi-fi.  So, imagine me being able to connect to the internet at the restaurant thanks to this.  No real problems there whatsoever.

However, my main test will be online gaming and Netflix/Disney+, which I'll be doing soon.

At this point, if you want to get onto the internet to watch YouTube videos, you could do a lot worse. (And in some cases for a lot more.)

It has been a nice experience so far.  I really don't hate this.

Is it worth what I paid for?  We'll see soon.

I'm testing a new modem.  I'll talk about it in another thread when I'm done testing.  Here's the test speed.

That Ping definitely could use some improvement. :rhett_ohsnap

Edit: Back to my current modem.

Hmm... The two are an interesting comparison.

Gamers Zone / A Video Look at Unreal Engine 5
« on: August 31, 2021, 06:34:31 AM »
Unreal Engine 5 was released to the public earlier this year.  If you haven't seen what people are doing with it, then you are missing out.  It really is something amazing.  Here's a video by ColdFusion (Highly recommend checking out their videos.) that shows what's possible.

I'm looking forward to what Unreal can bring.  This will be a very interesting time in gaming.

Destroy that tooth decay problem of mine!  I don't want it anymore!

Would you rather outlaw scalping in the gaming area or have online gaming piracy be legal?

Sports / The 2020 (2021) Summer Paralympic Games
« on: August 23, 2021, 05:31:21 PM »
As promised, less than a day before it starts, here is the thread for the 2020 Paralympic Games.

I must say, I am both happy and annoyed with some of the things going on as of late with this.  From record breaking LGBT+ people attending, to The Taliban making it impossible for Afghanistan compete this year, there seems to be no shortage of both good and bad reports surrounding the games this year.  It has made it one of the more interesting and engaging Paralympic Games ever.  In a strange way, it's kind of the boost this version of the games needed.

Anyways, here is the website to keep up to date with the Paralympic Games.

Of course, just like the Olympics, I do very much like the mascot for the Paralympic Games this year.  Heck, I like her more than I do the Olympics one.

I plan to purchase a plushie of the both of them soon.

Hope you all enjoy the games, and I'll see ya later! :wave

Right now, it's a battle between Disney+ and Netflix.  At the current moment, Disney+ is winning.  If only because I am currently on a weekly Marvel Binge.

I'm looking to get Nebula in the future.  I'll get it sooner if it gets off of being PC/Mobile only.  Yes, I'm petty like that.  Until then, I need to look to take something off my monthly bills.  I may have found a small investment that might make that happen.

Oh, and Hulu might return as well.

I'm more of a cat person, despite the fact that I grew up with a dog since I was 4.  Don't hate dogs.  I just like cats more.

And thus, the Olympics are over for this year!

However, I'll be back to this section of the forum in two weeks to post for the Paralympic Games.

After that, I'm thinking of skipping the 2022 Olympics.  If you must know why, look at the country and then their track record in Human Rights.  I'm sure you understand.

That's all from me for now!

See ya later!

Kiss From A Rose by Seal

Oh boy!  Do I ever have a problem with this one.  The most egregious is as follows.

What I hear - "Kiss from a rose on the grave"

The Real Lyrics - "Kiss from a rose on the grey"

Heard it that way for years and it's still a problem to this day.
