Land Before Time Captions / Re: Ducky and Petrie Mad

Petrie was very unhappy with the results of the "Screen Time Experiment".  In fact, he couldn't be happy for his friend's victory over him.

A bit of trivia for this movie.  Apparently, the score has a beehive in it.  No, I'm not joking.

Yeah, top 3 was what I expected at the end of the day.  I love my tomboy threehorn and all, but even I knew going in that Littlefoot would win this one.

Congrats to Littlefoot. :littlefoot:)

General Land Before Time / Re: LBT films you never saw when you were little
« on: February 08, 2023, 05:38:29 AM »
Some may remember my story, but for the newbies who don't...

I watched the first 4 all the time as a kid.  I think I lost track of how many times I watched those VHS Tapes.  I'm surprised the originals I have are still holding up to this day.

I didn't get to see the fifth until my teen years, and the sixth movie has the honor of making me take a break from the franchise. :cerasus

I didn't get back into the franchise until I was an adult with excess cash to spend as I pleased.  At that point, The Invasion of the Tinysauruses was out and that movie somehow pulled me back into the franchise.

I own them all now and, even though it's been years, I think I'll go back and see them all again.  Maybe even give my thoughts here.

We'll see.

Really, I think I know the top 3 overall by now.  However, I might end up being quite surprised. (I know I was through a number of these.)

Honestly, I'm glad you survived the worst one.  I mean, I would consider watching the 13th movie to be the equivalent of torture. :sducky

Now, for the final one.  Let's see where they end up.

Gamers Zone / Sonic Frontiers
« on: February 08, 2023, 04:15:01 AM »
So, I got Sonic Frontiers for Christmas and beat it a few weeks ago.  In that time, I thought about how I really feel about this game, and I have come to one conclusion.

That I absolutely love it! :D

I would definitely place this in my Top 10 for Sonic Games.  However, I seriously don't know where I would place it.  Still, I very much enjoyed this game.

I had a lot of fun with the open world and the big boss battles.  The revamped Sonic Levels were good. (Though the S Ranks can go screw themselves.) The upgrade moves are great and really enjoyable to use.

All the characters are great.  They really touch on the characteristics of Tails, Knuckles and Amy.  As well as Eggman.  However, one I didn't expect to like was the new one, Sage.  She's an AI created by Eggman.  At first, she seems nothing more than a servant of Eggman, but as the game goes on, she becomes more of a living being.  Eggman even starts to see her as his own daughter.  It ends up being an amazing thing, really.  Nothing is forced and it feels natural in the end.

However, nothing can prepare you for the end, which I won't spoil.  It is quite an emotional thing in the end.

Really, if there is anything I am against with this game, it's that there's a lot that needs to be done before you can fight the bosses.  You have to free your friends by collecting mini tokens, which you find throughout the open world by completing mini-challenges.  You have to get 6 of the Chaos Emeralds, which you do by collecting gears from revamped Sonic Levels.  Then you go after the boss that has the seventh one.  You figure out how to get to the front of them and then you turn into Super Sonic.  You beat the boss and head to the next island.  You then lose the Chaos Emeralds and have to repeat the process again.

Still, this collect-athon doesn't feel tedious.  Collecting everything was fun and things aren't too challenging.  Heck, you can skip everything by finding Big's Fishing Game.  In the open world are purple tokens that you can collect to fish and get items that can bypass all of that.  By the end, I chose to do that and it really removed some of the difficulty.

So yeah, I enjoyed the game and it's one I think I'll come back to someday.

For now, there's one more game I need to finish.

Until then, see ya later! :wave

Computer and Electronics / I'm back! With an old Laptop!
« on: February 01, 2023, 03:53:59 AM »
So, I'm back!  Now at near full capacity.

I had some keyboard problems with my laptop.  Basically, I had to press down hard on nearly half the keys for them to register, sometimes resulting in the letters in question registering more than once.  Frustrated, I chose to do a deep cleaning of the keyboard.  Let's just say it didn't go well and some of the keys don't work anymore.  Needless to say, those keys are useless now.

After wasting money on a new computer that didn't even boot properly, (So much bloatware!  Thing will NEED a reformat.) and finding that I can't upgrade the ram in it, (soldered onto the motherboard.) I decided to give an old Toshiba Laptop I had a shot.

Well, the start was promising.  It was able to boot, but it was slow.  I figured all it needed was a ram upgrade.  Had some trouble finding some, but found some on Newegg that wasn't guaranteed to be compatible, but seemed promising.  So I gave it a shot.  IT!  FREAKING!  WORKED!

So, after that, I am now near full capacity.  Thing still needs a battery replacement, (Doesn't hold much charge, so it needs to remain plugged in.) but other than that, it's doing well.  Very well, in fact.  I should be fine from here on out.

During this time, I wasn't on much for various reasons.  However, now things should be good.

I'll be job hunting soon. (Want to go back to daytime for various reasons.) So wish me luck on that end.

So yeah, that's why I was gone for the last couple of months.  Sorry I wasn't around during that time.  I'm back now, though.

Here's hoping I stay this time.

Okay, here's that Trailer alone.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KydqdKKyGEk

They freaking NAILED Bowser!  It's SO like Bowser to have a fortress like that, and the voice, just amazing!

Like many, I'm not sure about Chris Pratt's Mario Voice.  I think I need more lines to get an idea of what he's going for.

Toad was another I'm not sure of.  Again, I think I need more lines to figure out where they're going.

Kamek is doing  well so far.  No complaints there.

Okay, the one playing The Penguin King is doing a good job.  Especially if he's just doing one scene.

We only got screaming from Luigi, so let's see where that goes.

Overall, a good trailer.  Let's hope they continue to do well with this.

Okay, correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm sure a sledgehammer has never been the weapon of choice for the serial killer in these types of movies.

Like I said, I could be wrong.

Okay, before you click the link, note that the title is misleading.  It says "Best to Worst", but is really "Worst to Best".

That being said, take a look at where Collider ranks The Land Before Time.

Silver Screen / Money Heist (La casa de papel) (2017) (Netflix)
« on: June 30, 2022, 09:36:22 AM »
So, I recently started watching this series and it is pretty dang good.

Now, one thing to note, this series was originally done in Spanish.  However, for something Live Action, the English Dubbing is really good.  The voice actors don't mess up here.  I mean, you can tell it's Dubbed Over, but it's one of the best Dub Overs of a Foreign Series I've ever seen.

What's the story?

A group of individuals break into The Mint and print their own money while holding everyone hostage.  The only question, do they get out with the money they printed?

I'm only done with the first season, (There's 5 seasons right now.) but it's pretty dang good so far.  I love the plot and the characters.  It is so well done and worth watching.

I'm only done with Season 1, but I'm already recommending it.  If you have Netflix, watch this!

Just be warned, it's Rated M for a reason.  It's not violence.
