Redclaw/Screech?

Sounds like a villain to me. :)

Quote
Certainly not!
That's the way many science fiction writers think, but that's not the way the dinosaurs think. "Taking over the Great Valley". Admittedly we had that idea from Pterano, who was hoping to get the admiration he felt he deserved by making the Great Valley a paradise, ignoring that this is what it already was. Nonetheless there is not such a thing in the dinosaurs' mind as a war being fought between sharpteeth and leafeaters. The latter do what they have to, not out of vilany but out of need to eat.

Which is why I said...

Okay, bad idea... -_-

Anyways, I wouldn't be one bit surprised if Redclaw/Screech was the name of a villain for the series.  It just sounds so perfect for a sharptooth. :)

BTW, do you agree with the vibraphone (the melodic percussion instrument, like a xylophone) used for Ducky's voice? I've tried a few instruments here, and it has given me the best results. I would use a flute, but there is already an actual flute in ths song, that Just stops playing as Ducky's vocal part starts. I didn't want to put them on the same instrument.

When it comes to making a song like this, I'd say that it's best to have all the charcters as different insturments.  Since flute is already taken, I'd indeed say that vibraphone is the best choice. :)

Anyways, no mistakes for what you have fixed so far.

I'll tell you now, listening to it's original version in the movie, there is only ONE point where they all join together.  Just pick the right insturments for the gang, and I'm sure you'll do fine.

Oh, and with what you picked for the Mother Longneck, I now must ask what you picked for Petrie and Cera. :)

Just my two cents, but I think it'd be better if they just did the opening orchestrated, with no words. It'd be a refreshing charge from having songs all the time at the opening of cartoons.
Kinda like what was done for The Powerpuff Girls? :D

I think the "villain" is a Liopleurodon. Actually he is not too much of a villain, but more of a natural enemy who (thank goodness) came across quite impressive in my opinion.

Still, I can't help but call him a villain with the way he was.  He was just so scary! :o (I still get nightmares from seeing him. -_-)  Aside from Sharptooth, he's probably the greatest LBT villain ever! :) (I LOVE villains that scare me. :D)

Oh, and thanks for the species name.  It was really bugging me. -_-

Why is it that Petrie couldn't fly accross the landbreak? He could've just flown a bit higher (as he did to find the Big Water).

Well he did make this little complaint...

"AH!  Too hot!!  Too hot!!" *lands back with the gang* "Nevermind!"

Basically, with how hot it was, he was just too scared to cross. :P:

Another funny thing is that apparently Mo's waterkin knows the way to the Great Valley from a point from where Littlefoot and the others don't. It seems there must have been some really bad flooding around the Great Valley

Or maybe other dinosaurs passing by along the way told them or something. :p

I guess we'll never know. :^.^:

It was good, but I will tell you that with me having LBT 9 as my fav, I can tell you what you messed up on with this one. :)

First off, right at :14 where the rest join in, it's just too loud.  For me though, piano was just fine.  It's the rest of the insturments that need work.

BTW, what insturment do you plan to give the Longneck Mother?

I've been thinking about the series a bit and I think I came up with an idea of what I think it will be like. (Mind you, it's not very good.)

Here's the basic idea...

The idea is that Ruby is the main villian of the series.  Ruby has this plan to take over the Great Valley.  She sends out different sharpteeth to try and take over and somehow the Gang of Five are the only ones who can stop Ruby.

...........

Okay, bad idea... -_-

The problem is this... If this is the main idea of the series, how is it that Ducky saves the day on the first episode?  I'm guessing clever trickry here. :lol

But what do you guys think? :)

If you've got a Walmart in your home town I'm sure you'll find one there.  Maybe even Circut City.  Just remember, you'll have to pay $30.00 for each one. :p

As of now, along with Mega Man and Mega Man X Collections, I have Mega Man X: Command Mission for GC (A very nice RPG game.) and Mega Man: Battle Network 2 for GBA.

Just so you know Action, in Mega Man Collection, along with 1-8 it also includes two unlockable arcade games that appeared only in Japan.

And in Mega Man X Collection, you get 1-6 plus an unlockable Mega Man racing game. (Featuring all the charcters from the original Mega Man series.)

Oh, and if you need help in those games, I can give you some strategies that I used to beat them. (Just be warned, with the X series, you HAVE to be fast.)

I must admit one thing though, X series is harder than the original.  Yet, I enjoy the X series so much more. :)

You mean a faction? Yes there is that possibility, however, I think that once the relationships are built up between Ali and the others (Cera, Ducky etc) the group would adapt to the changes. In other words, the rest of the group would get used to the changes in the relationships they have made. Also remember that there may be disagreements between Littlefoot and Ali, indeed there would be. All relationships, on every level, have diagreements and arguments. So we cannot say that just because there are two longnecks that they will agree on everything. Indeed I think that adding ali would expand the wide range of personalities in the group. When we first saw Ali, she was shy, andreluctant to be friends with anyone but other longnecks. When she left, she had been changed, she was more accepting of others.
Funny you should metion them arguring, as I'll be having them argue in my fic, Dark Future, quite a good amount.

Oh, and no matter what you guys say, you will NOT sway me away from my opinion of the Littlefoot&Ali relationship.  Though I feel I'm trying to sway you onto mine.  I'll stop now. :)

Mr. Thicknose, huh?  Well I have to admit that I'm no fan of him, yet I do not mind him showing up on the series.  To be honest, I could care less if the writers just went off and killed him.  Though him showing up as a one time charcter might not be such a bad thing.

As for the one playing his voice, Dorian Harewood, I looked up his list and found it to be quite impressive.

As you can see, I've been quite the fan of him and haven't even noticed. :P:

As I can recall from the Astro Boy Series, he did quite the impressive Tenma, and as I recall, he does sound alot like Mr. Thicknose's original actor.  So a serious voice change we don't have to worry about. (Though I'm not worried myself.) He'll probably have only a slight difference that is hard to detect, but that's pretty much it.

Some of the shows, like Batman: The Animated Series, I have seen every single episode of, so there is no doubt I have heard him before in those, I just can't remember them well. -_-

If you ask me, he'll do fine as Mr. Thicknose, though I could care more if he was doing a more important role like Littlefoot's Grandpa.

-------

Oh, and an announcement for me to make.  My sister and big brother will soon be moving in and as a result, we're getting Direct TV. (One of THE best satilite companies in the world.) If things go well, I will see the series on time after all. :^.^: (That is IF I get Cartoon Network.  Which I have no doubt that I will.)

So sorry, but it seems that I won't be sharing your upcoming pain, Malte. :)

General Land Before Time / ali in lbt 12
« on: April 08, 2006, 01:43:24 AM »
One person who wrote a fanfic interpreted that Ali had been taught the lessons of the past.  The old ruling of keeping to your own kind made her afraid to become friends with other herds and not feel superior to the others as the lessons were meant to do.  She definately showed the fear when she met the rest of the gang for the first time. (Hiding under Littlefoot was just screaming fear.)

Though if this is true, it would highly explain why she was only interested in making friends with Littlefoot.

However, this interpretation causes a small problem that can't be ruled out.  It's turning towards the ones she fears for help when Littlefoot is nearly buried alive by a rockslide.  Under normal circumstances one would not turn to those they fear for help.

Granted they are his friends and that possibly made it a little easier, but it takes alot of courage to ask for help from those you fear.  Love is said to bring alot of courage when it really matters.  So love is a possibility that gave her the courage she needed to ask Littlefoot's friends for help.

This is one of the hints I have found by myself in LBT 4.

And yes, Malte, I am most possibly the one who fantasises about romance in LBT the most on this board.  I just love romance too much. :)

Yes, Chomper is going to be in the TV series.  It was confirmed in one of the first announcements of the TV series.  It did say that Littlefoot, Cera, Ducky, Petrie, Spike and Chomper would be having new never before seen adventures.

Ali returning as a pernament part of the series I would like to have happen, though it would change the series forever.  Besides, a good amount of people like the idea of a Littlefoot&Ali romance. (Just about every fanfiction you see on fanfiction.net has a hint for them.)

Land Before Time TV Series (2007) / theme song for lbt tv show
« on: April 07, 2006, 08:58:45 AM »
With the many cartoon shows I've watched these days, (I mainly get to watch them on Saturday Morning.) chances are that it's NOT going to be "If We Hold On Together."

Sorry to bring you down like this, but "If We Hold On Together" works so well with the slow, sappy music that any other kind would possibly kill it. :D

When picking an opening theme, you've got to pick a song that will attract the audience.  The one you pick can mean the difference between attracting one million viewers or just one right at the start.  Pick the wrong one, and it's over before the show even begins.

Upbeat songs do indeed work the best.  They just seem to have the element to MAKE one watch something.  Almost like getting hypnotised. (Okay, that's a scary thought.) -_-

I think that they'll go for something fresh and new.  Those always seem to attract the audience the most.

If things go well, the LBT TV series opening theme could possibly be the best thing they ever make.
