Brain Food / Fact or Crap!

Okay, either you guys find this too easy, suspect I'm up to something or don't understand the statement. (I'll go for the third choice of being most likely.)

Make's me wonder which it is. :)

Okay then...  Here's one for ya.

Fact or Crap!: (Note: You just need your brilliant math mind to figure out this one.)

I am traveling from point A to point B and back.  If I travel from point A to point B at 30 mph, I have to go 90 mph from B to A to make the round trip average out at 60 mph.

Quite a fact really.

I believe it to be called Trepanation, trephining, trephinning, or trepanning...

All of which mean amazingly the same thing. :) It was mainly a method used to relieve pressure from the brain.

Well, I was in a rather dark mood when I posted, Malte.  I guess I took my anger out on him.  Terribly sorry, F-14.

^^Just because you can't find it on the net, doesn't nessacarily mean it's Crap!, though it is most likely.

You should've learned that from my last Fact or Crap! statement.  I really got everyone good with that, yet I didn't even plan it. (Still don't understand how come it's never been told about until now.)

Now, since you posted a Fact or Crap! statement without being confirmed whether or not it was Fact or Crap!, I'm afraid that statement has to be dismissed entirely.  In other words, it doesn't count.

I'm terribly sorry to do this, F-14, but I believe in fairness.  It was not fair of you to put in a statement without being confirmed whether you were right or not.

It was also most likely you were not right, based on the fact that Malte didn't post to confirm, though he had plenty of oppurtunities to do so.  I can see that Malte went at the same angle as me.  Put up a little something he knew would be hard to find.  I knew mine would be hard to find, based on the fact that religon is highly overlooked, but let's not get into that discussion.  We'll save that for After Midnight.

Anyways, as I was saying, because of what you did, your statement will not count.

Now, I'll be fair and give you 24 hours to post a new one.  If you do not post something within those 24 hours, I'll put one up myself.

Now, to ensure this will never happen again, I'll update the rules.

So, from this moment on, it is a rule that you need to be confirmed of your answer before you can post a new statement.

I'm rather disappointed at you, F-14.  I really thought you had enough common sense to realize that you were indeed wrong.  Do not always assume that something is Crap!, just because you couldn't find it.  Remember, the net doesn't contain ALL information, just NEARLY ALL.

Now, if you don't mind, I'm going to update the rules.

See ya later. ^_^

Gamers Zone / Favorite video game and why
« on: January 10, 2006, 10:38:51 AM »
I too have enjoyed several games on the Gamecube.

LoZ: WW (Despite the non pleasing graphics, it was a good game to play all the way through.  Quite some tough bosses.)

SSB:M (Love it so much, I even made 3 fics for it.  Only one I have completed.  Which was in script format.  Which I am rewriting now.) ^.^

Pikmin (Don't know what it is exactly that I like about it.  Maybe it's the fact these little guys can beat up enemies a million times their size.  I'm currently trying to beat the bare min. speed challenge. (Grow ONLY 50 Pikmin.  Don't lose a single one.  Do it in 9 days. (2 hours and 15 min.)) It has indeed proven to be THE hardest able to beat challenge ever made.  Out of all to try it, only one has beat it.)

Out of N64 games...

LoZ: OoT (Graphics, storyline and gameplay are all a masterpiece.  There are also some bosses I just LOVE to kill.  Currently trying the bare item 3 heart challenge. (This actually means NO Lens of Truth.  That ends up making Shadow Temple quite a challenge.) Have yet to beat it though.)

Banjo-Kazooie (This is quite a fun game.  The idea of a bear and bird taking on a witch is just so enjoyable.  Currently trying the speed challenge. (4 hours is quite a feat.  Espically with a game that automatically saves when you turn it off.) Have yet to beat that.)

Out of GBA:

Pokemon (MY FAV!  It's not the cute little animals or the storyline.  It's the battles.  That's the main thing that has made it so famous.  Thanks to the specially made on-line battle simulator, this has been proven to be a straegy game that rivals that of chess.  Sometimes, the strategies made can be so tough, that they prove to be hard to beat for even masters in the end.  It's a game that will probably last until the earth's end.)

Okay, that's all I can think of.

As you can see, I have a nice list of games to entertain me when I'm bored. :)

Brain Food / Fact or Crap!
« on: January 10, 2006, 02:27:31 AM »
Well, Malte, that was a typo indeed.

Okay, here's the actual truth guys.

The answer is... FACT!

I know what you're saying.  I too searched endlessly for a webpage that had such information, and found none.  Also, as far as I know, there is NO book that exists that proves this information.  The ONLY thing that has this proff is a little 2 minute video showing multiple pictures of him, with his own voice rerecorded right into it.  Which was his own testimony on Joseph Smith and the Latter-Day Saint Church.

He used, what he called, "a talking machine."

:lol Such simplicity.  He didn't even know the name for it, and yet, he figured out some way, quite quickly, to make us understand what he was using.

Trust me, I didn't even plan this one.  I just knew the answer without having to look up all the information.  Let's just say I'm as surprised as you guys are. :^.^:

If you must know the WHEN, it was the last year of his life, age 91.  Before the illness that killed him took over.  I don't have an exact date of when it was recorded, but it was indeed within the last year of his life.

He was indeed the first Latter-Day Saint Prophet to record his own voice.  Though there is only one piece of information that proves this, it is enough in the end.

Since no one could guess it right.  The next one is a free for all.

ANYONE can post a Fact or Crap! statement.

Though remember, only the FIRST one posted will count.

Okay, I don't understand it, but why isn't anyone guessing the Fact or Crap! statement?

Maybe you just didn't see it.

Here it is again...

Fact or Crap!:

Wilford Wooddruff was the first Latter-Day Saint Prophet to record his own voice.

Look at that, nicely bolded this time! :^.^:

Hope you can see it better now. -_-

Yes!

Okay, here we go!

Fact or Crap: (Note: Due to this one being about religon, and some of you wanting nothing to do with that sort of thing, I will accept a wild guess.)

Wilford Wooddruff was the first Latter-Day Saint Prophet to record his own voice.

Oh, and Threehorn, I have posted the personality a few hours ago.  I hope you can understand it enough to work with as she is a tough one just to work with in the end.

General Land Before Time / Crush?
« on: January 06, 2006, 11:53:54 AM »
Well, being one who is more advanced on the subject of love than most people I have met, I can give you much truth to such a relationship.

Now, I have come to understand something with love that I see many of you haven't.  Love is NEVER an age thing.  You can fall in love with someone at ANY age really.  Whether or not you understand or aware of it fully, that's another thing.

They say that when two friends fight, they really care about eachother.  This has been proven to be quite true with "the couple" we are talking about here.

We have seen them have argument after argument. (I'd say just about 1 each movie.) Yet, even after all that, they are still the best of friends.

Now, it has come to my attention one little thing when it comes to a love vs. friendship arguement over arguing.  Often times, those who are more towards the area of love than that of mere friendship, "I'm sorry" is not said.

Okay, with this piece of information, I can tell you that they haven't apologized for most of their fights.  Now, with just this piece of information, I know that a hypershipper of such a couple would say "OMG! THEIR N LUV!" However, I am one who is far more mature than that and likes to look for whatever proff possible there may be to such a case.  So, there is indeed more to go on...

Cera indeed seems to care for Littlefoot more than anyone else.  In LBT 4, when news of Littlefoot being in danger came from Ali, I noted that Cera took the longest to react to the news.  However, the difference was so short, it was hard to tell.  Before she accused Ali of lying, Cera had her mouth hung open in great worry.  Despite her disbelief in Ali, her worry took over and she went to save Littlefoot.

Now, terms of jealousy.

We once again go to LBT 4 for this.  The time Littlefoot spent with Ali she was quite jealous towards.  It was only after Ali saved her from Dil that Cera gave her a chance at being a friend.  After her history was given to the gang, she was highly accepted by Cera, and no longer seen as a threat to her friendship with Littlefoot.

She indeed got jealous of Littlefoot and Mo's friendship in LBT 9.  Now, with LBT 9 now being my fav out of all of them, (Thanks to Mo.) I can tell you one little fact I saw with Cera.  She thought that this friendship that Littlefoot had was a threat to her own, thus her jealousy.  It was only after Mo was BELIEVED to have died that the jealousy left. (I too thought Mo died the first time I saw it.  I was on the verge of crying!)

Now, the other stuff.

It seemed to me that from the beginning, they wanted to be friends.  What's a little play fight between two friends?  With how often they ran into eachother in the first movie, it just seemed that fate was telling them that they were supposed to become friends.

So, after studying this, I can tell you guys this...

it's true.  The rumor you heard Malte is indeed fact.  However, them ending up together will not happen.  When the time comes, they'll do what's best for eachother.  I'm one who highly understands why it won't happen.  However, it is one of those shippings that is fun to support while it lasts.

It's a love/hate relationship.  They hate eachother one minute and the next, they love eachother.  Sadly, because they are two completely different species of dinosaur, they won't end up together.  It ends up being this little thing that stops them from being together in the end.

So in conclusion, I believe simply this, it's a love/hate relationship and even though we know that they'll never end up together, they will always love eachother.

This is what I believe, and those beliefs have nearly a zero chance of changing.

LBT Fanfiction / Land Before Time: A wish apon a Star
« on: January 06, 2006, 10:09:14 AM »
Okay, let me sort out the personality then.

Personality: She is very kindhearted to her friends and others, but she is a tomboy.  Tries her best to find good in everyone and make a new friend whenever possible.  Very intelligent, mostly in the field of math, (You'd be surprised how often that comes in handy in outdoor survival.) and not afraid to speak her mind, especially when her friends are talked bad about.  Has been well known to fuss over one little thing for hours on end. (She basically wants to win the arguement.  In all truth, only her friends can stop her long quarrels.) However, she is a good friend to have and one that is wise to keep.

Basically, a little bit of me and a little bit of tomboyishness mixed together.

Now, understand that the Personality explanation was done as good as I could possibly give.  If you still don't understand it, then there is no hope in you understanding this charcter.  However, I wouldn't be surprised.  She has been proven to be a tough charcter to work with.  In fact, I have yet to see someone use her well.  I hope you can pull this one off.  She is a tough one in the end.

Okay, here it is, my amazing fanfic charcter.  The sad thing is that she has always played a small role and never really one like what you are suggesting.  I guess this is her oppurtunity to shine. :)

Name: Evelyn

Age: 13

Bio:  Despite her kindhearted nature, she is a tomboy. (I'd say she'll get along well with Cera.) :lol  Always looks for the good inside others.  Enemies of her she believes will never change. (Yet, who does?) :D Likes weird combonations of food. (Carrots and Peppers on a pancake? No thank you!) :x Greatly hates it when others talk negativly about friends. (Always ends up in as big a quarrel as Malte's fic.) However, despite all negatives, she is such a good friend to have that it's pratically a sin to lose her.  Simply, if you have this person as a friend, it's one you'd better keep. :)

I hope this isn't too hard for you to work with. :^.^:

Have fun with her. :wave

You are correct, Malte.  I was indeed also referring to the early parts of his life.

However, I suspect not many people taking his work seriously, based on the fact of how poorly written they were.  They did get the main storyline, plot and message out nicely, I'll give him that.  Sadly though, they had multiple spelling and grammer mistakes. (Heck, I'm making a little story based on Charles Dickens most famous of all stories and am having a hard time making it as accurate as possible.) :o

I highly doubt some readers felt that they needed 4 long paragraphs reffering of how important death was to a story.  I highly doubt anyone needed that at all really.

His books often show the rewards we get from the good deeds we do in life.  For instance, as I saw with a South Park retelling of "Great Exceptations," it showed how a single good deed of helpping a stranger at his lowest point in life can reward you quite greatly in your later life.

I can indeed understand his work quite greatly.  I feel that, despite Charles Dickens actually being dead, he is one author that will never truly die.

Well, since you caught me there, Malte, it's your turn.

And don't forget, your statement can be ANYTHING!

EDIT:  Junior Post!!  I'm now a Petrie. :)

Brain Food / Fact or Crap!
« on: January 01, 2006, 09:57:50 AM »
Okay, the rules of this game are simple.

I will put in a little statement about something and you try to guess whether that statement is Fact (True) or Crap! (False)

If you guess it right, it's your turn to give a Fact or Crap! statement.

Now, here's the catch, you have to explain why it's Fact or Crap!  Otherwise, your answer won't count.

There's also another thing, you must wait for confirmination of your answer before you can post a Fact or Crap! statement.  If this rule is broken, the statement you posted won't count.  However, you will be given 24 hours to put in a new statement to redeem yourself.  If you do not post a new one within 24 hours, it becomes a free-for-all (meaning anyone can give one.), with the exception that the one who broke this rule can't post one.

If you post a Fact or Crap! statement when it's not your turn, it won't count.

Here's a little example I'll start with:

In the original LBT movie, Ducky is refered as a Duckbill.

Answer: Crap!  In the original movie, Ducky was refered as a swimmer by Littlefoot's mother and as a bigmouth by the narrorator.

-------

Now, time for the real one...

Fact or Crap!

Because of all his hard work, Charles Dickens, the author of A Christmas Carol, was actually quite rich through his life.

---------

Okay, go for it guys! :)

General Land Before Time / Dana and Dinah
« on: December 28, 2005, 10:41:10 AM »
Here's my guess after some serious thinking.

The Land Before Time Movie series ends up having guest stars that are all different.  They give them a decent enough time to help us understand their charcter and personality within.  Which was the basic reason Chomper got a second appearance.  He basically didn't have his personality and charcter fully explained and a second one was made to provide that.

I believe that the TV series that's coming will bring back all the guest stars that are still alive and tie up whatever loose ends there may be.

So, my guess was that since they got the charcter and personality basically fully explained with Dinah and Dana, they just decided to basically leave them out until the TV series airs.

So, I have a feeling we'll see each of these guest stars again in the TV series and will finally know what happened to all of them.
