So I can wait until your labtop is fixed.
I can't. Something very annoying happened.
The day before yesterday I learned that my laptop, which was supposed to be back early this week, won’t be back before next week. Worse even, it is not going to be repaired at all. Thing is that a key of my laptop’s touchpad broke loose. As there is still a warranty on the laptop (it’s less than a year old) I hoped the repairs to be made on the computer company’s expense as the key broke loose just by regular use of it. The key was attached by only two very thin plastic-pins almost bound to break by abrasion if used regularly (if it was made to last there should be aluminium pins there, or at least much broader and more stable plastic pins). However, yesterday I went to ask if the laptop was back (as it was supposed to be) and was told that not only it wasn’t back, but also that the damage of the key was considered a “mechanical defect” rather than a “material defect” and that if I wanted it to be repaired I would have to pay 138 Euros (more than 10% of what a completely new laptop would cost just for putting a new touchpad key into place!). Like that was not enough I am required to pay 50 Euros to get my laptop back, even if they don’t repair anything at all! They call it “arrangement fee” while I feel tempted to consider it ransom. :-(
Ouch!  If you ask me, in computer deals, you got ripped off.

Don't mean to brag or anything, but despite my computer costing me $1400, I get repairs free of charge. (Unless somehow all the data is lost, in which case I only pay $60.) Not to mention that with the fact that they only hire the best at repairing, I get it back in only a few days.  If one does the math, it only takes a certian number of repairs to pay for itself.

Just recently got my DVD-Rom fixed. (It wasn't reading ANY DVDs.) And got my A Drive checked. (Which surprisingly didn't have any problems.  Must be the disk I was using. *sighs.* Guess I have to throw it away. *tosses disk into the garbage*) Guess what it cost me?  Just my signature.

Oh, wondering where I got such a great deal?  A place called Totally Awesome Computers.  Despite their computers being VERY expensive, with the free repair service, it's worth EVERY penny.

General Land Before Time / Hey! Finally watched Journey to Big Water (IX)

For the time being LBT 9 was the last LBT movie I really loved without any reservation. When I saw the cover for the first time I was quite biassed against it. Mo looked to me like a shrill coloured Pokemon with no business in LBT, but when I watched the movie it didn't disturb me at all.
The story of LBT 9 is simple, but they realized it much better than in case of some more elaborate plot lines. The music too was very good in my opinion. No song I didn't like. "No one has to be alone" is one of my absolute favorites and "Imaginary friend" is quite nice too.
There are several very emotional scenes in this movie and quite impressive a swimming sharptooth.
Did you realize there were a few paralells between LBT 9s final fight with the swiming sharptooth and the final fight with the sharptooth in the original movie?
Really?  Huh, I'm gonna have to watch the movie again in that case. (Only thing is that with work, I only get to watch movies on Tuesdays and Wedensdays. *sighs* How I wish I had my old schedule back.)

Anyways, yeah, "No One Has To Be Alone" was a great song.  They often put in ones that touch the heart.  LBT definately has the potential to go on forever.  If only money wasn't an issue. ;_;

Oh, and being a fan of Pokemon, to be fully honest, Mo just doesn't look like one to me.  The artists have a special style when it comes to the artwork of Pokemon and Mo doesn't reflect that.

Whew!  Finally got to see it, and it cost me $15.98. (That's including tax from a $14.95 DVD.  I have a strange feeling I got a little ripped off. *does the math.* Oh great!  I only got ripped off by 3 cents.)

Anyways, in all respect, I actually liked it.  In all truth, I really liked Mo.  He was really funny. (Just the voice was good for a laugh.) :lol The realistic graphics they put in were spectacular. (The huge log Cera had to push actually looked real.) And the songs with the original music melody of "If We Hold On Together" were really good.  To be honest, I don't understand why such a series gets bad reviews.

Of course, with it being on my Christmas list, I really know I should've waited, but you don't understand how hard it is to get this video in my town. (I really think I got the last one that wasn't bought to be honest.)

Yes, I've got the videos I haven't seen on my list. (Oh, BTW, great job whoever did the artwork at top.)

Let's see, that just leaves 7, 8 and 10.

Anyways, back on topic, great movie, and I will definately watch it again when I get the chance.

Just my own comments on this that I wanted to express.

You have permission to do with this topic as you wish. :)

Announcements / Whom to send what?
« on: December 01, 2005, 02:13:46 AM »
Ah, well, just to make sure, the ONLY thing I have requested from you is your fic, "The Big Quarrel."

Hopefully this will stay around long enough for ya, huh?

Remember, it's because of fanfics that I've become patient with such great stories. :)

Oh, and knowing deals with computers and all, I'd say you fell into a scam of some kind that is too legal to go against.

Oh, and thanks for giving me that website of where I can find your fanfics. Finally, I can finish reading TBQ. Thank you so much.
I'm sorry, but you can't  :(
As I said I mean for the stories to be uploaded there, but Christian hasn't found any time to upload stuff to the gallery for quite a while. So far you will find only fanart (but beautiful fanart) in the gallery, including some of active members of the Gang of Five.
As for my stories I shall send them to you once my labtop is back from repairs; if that's alright with you that is.
Yeah, I kinda figured that out myself.

Anyways, I'm very patient for fanfics. (Heck, one I've been waiting for a whole year to update (not yours) and I'm still willing to wait.) So I can wait until your labtop is fixed.

Just remember to send it to me as soon as possible, and I'll be VERY happy. :)

1988 Theatrical Release / Littlefoot Getting rid of Sharptooth
« on: November 24, 2005, 12:13:17 PM »
Okay, I'm sure we all know that this was coming for a long time, but why do you think Littlefoot wanted to get rid of him once and for all?

For one reason or another, Littlefoot wanted to get rid of Sharptooth forever.

Why did he want to get rid of him?

I have two guesses to this.

1: Avenge his mother.  It's great reason in the end.  Sharptooth did cause that wound that made Littlefoot's mother bleed to death.  He wanted to end the pain he was feeling.  The only way to do that was to kill Sharptooth.  However, he knew it meant his death if he did it alone.  So he asked his new friends to help him.  He avenged his mother in the end, but at the cost of nearly losing Petrie.

2: If he didn't kill him, the Valley would've been in danger.  With how often the gang ran into Sharptooth through out the movie, it did seem that he was following them.  If he didn't kill him when he did, chances are that he would've followed them to the Valley.  And we all know how bad of a thing that would've been.

What do you guys think?

LBT Fanfiction / Land before time spoons
« on: November 24, 2005, 11:22:30 AM »
Quote from: Malte279,Nov 24 2005 on  09:02 AM
What exactly does that phrase "to go for a pretty penny" mean?
By the way, I forgot to mention that in early November I got the other spoons I had been looking for. The spoons of Ducky and Cera will make as good positives for tin figures as the one of Spike did. The Littlefoot spoon is not as good (he is in a strange sitting posture and his head seems a bit too small). The spoons came along with LBT cups and lids for the cups shaped as pieces of LBT landscape (rocks, plants etc.). I consider making moulds for these lids to use them as sockets for the tin figures. Those lids are too large to cast them with tin with the tools I have (apart from the fact that it would be very expensive) so I consider using plaster for them.
"Pretty penny" means "alot of money."

Trust me, just finding the right person to sell Land Before Time stuff to can make you very rich. (Hey!  Works for penny collectors who are after the rarest of rare and will pay $1,000,000 just for a certian penny that's incredably hard to find.)

As for the figures you're making, if you really want to save money, I'd suggest an inexpensive clay like "Play-doh" to actually make them with.  Then again, clay does break easily, (Which is why people make it harden by extreme heat.  Just so it has a lower chance of breaking.) so it might not be a good idea.

EDIT: Oh, and just for the record, I've got a sticker of Baby Littlefoot licking a purple leaf of some kind. (He's actually holding it like a human would a newspaper.)

Got it for being a good patient at a doctor's appointment I had a long time ago. (It was the only Land Before Time one in the basket.)

General Land Before Time / News on LBT 12!
« on: November 23, 2005, 03:51:16 PM »
Okay, I think we've gone a bit off topic here.  Seeing as how this is suppose to be about LBT 12... I'm sure you know what I'm saying and all.

Anyways, with Land Before Time 12, interesting things I've heard so far from all of you. (I took the time out of my off duty schedule to read all the pages.)

Now, with the surprise Tria has, I'm guessing that Cera's going to be a step-sister. ^_^ I'm just saying that with how Topsy...

*gets charged by Cera.*

Cera: Don't EVER call my dad that!

Okay, Cera.  Sorry!  :(

Anyways, I'm just saying that with how Mr. Threehorn acts near her, I wouldn't be surprised if they got into a serious relationship. (Hey!  Even Littlefoot was thinking this.)

Oh, and speaking of Littlefoot, I did notice a few pages back of how he should be bigger and all.  Well, his Grandpa did say that by Littlefoot's age he had grown.  So I'm just guessing that Littlefoot is going through a late growth spurt of some kind.

Of course, The Simpsons have kept the charcters the same age for 16 years and still no one has complained about it. (Heck, enough days within those eps have past by that they should be 5 to 6 years older.) So, as long as they keep bringing a good series to watch, I could care less about them being forever young and all. (Besides, many an idea could be made for fanfics if they keep them young.)

Now, debating on whether or not 12 will be the last one, I'd say there's great chance of it budgetwise.  However, if they get a miracle donation of some kind, they just might pull off another one or two.  Then again, making a TV series with 26 eps really hurts a budget and all.  Heck, considering how much it costs just to make a one and a half hour movie, I can sure see alot of money being put into just the eps themselves.  Besides, there's alot to be considered.

First off, to keep the cast working, you have to pay them a respectable amount of money.  Add in possible food to feed everyone who works there. (Trust me, with enough people, that's gets quite expensive.  Even if you go with the cheapest food around.) Electic bill, film, paper, paint... it all adds up. (Oh yeah, sure.  These days you use computers to save on paint and all, but still, it gets expensive.)

Considering everything.  I'd say it's going to take a miracle for #13 to come forth.

Still, I wouldn't give up hope.  There's always that chance beyond a chance factor.  Kids is a VERY big target audience.  If they can just get enough... they just might do #13.

Yeah, back in 1988 it would've been a common thing.  Also, these days such things would go for a pretty penny. :)

Who knows, there might be a BIG fanatic out there who has so much LBT stuff preseved in a glass case and all for all we know.

^^Yes, that's where I found it.  Surprisingly, it's still on the first page.  Then again, there aren't many members here, so I'm not too surprised. (Though I have a feeling we'll get more once the TV series kicks off.)

Glad to see so many are approving of this one of a kind fanfiction I'm making.  I'll be working VERY hard with it.

Littlefoot1616:  Ah, so you are the author of BotSE. (Note: I like to do initials with stories alot.  Understand that sometimes, it's just easier to do that.) Well, I must say, I am impressed with it.  As for how far I am, I just finished reading the part where Jason came back from the dead and is now fighting Red Pheonix with an overpowered Laser Blade.  I can see how the story was inspired by The Legend of Zelda. (I enjoy those games myself.  And I tell ya, that Gannondorf just doesn't quit!) In all truth, I think it was a bit too obvious.  Still, enjoying the story VERY much, and I just can't wait to finish it.

Nick22:  In all truth, I'm not one who enjoys RPs very much.  I really don't understand why myself.  For some odd reason, I just don't find much enjoyment in them.

Now, I've run into a little delay.  My computer which had the story on it had to be taken in. (Problem with the A drive and the DVD-R.) I won't be getting back to my story until Tuesday.  Until then, I'll be enjoying what stories I can on the net from the computer my mom owns.  Don't worry, it'll still make it's debut in Early 2006, regardless.

Well, for now, guess I'll read more of The Cold Time, which, by the way, I am enjoying right now.  Only done with Chapter 4, but I see much potential with it.

Well, I'll see ya guys later. ^_^

Oh, so you did complete it!  Then I would very, very much like to see the end of the story.  I have an easy time understanding what people write, despite their not so perfect english, so expect me to understand what you are saying with the story.

Here's my e-mail to help you...

pokeplayer984@hotmail.com

Now, I understand people who are in your situation.  However, many of them still post it, regardless of their lack of english.  They feel that as long as people understand what they're saying, it hardly matters what grammical and spelling mistakes they make.  That's the only place they need to improve.  Which they do overtime, and I'm impressed with that. :)

Anyways, I've been reading your "The Cold Time" story, and I am enjoying it.  However, I've only read one chapter, so I can't give you a full honest opinon in the story just yet.  I'll give you more of an honest opinon once I reach the plot.  I know every story to have a plot of some kind.  Sometimes its the plot, behind the plot, behind the plot, and those end up having a plot so hard to figure out, that they seem to have none at all.

Also, I get what your saying with the carnivore not being evil and all, but understand, these things that I'm basically making up are not the natural predator.  They are nothing more than creations that are meant to destroy and cause pain.  They are programmed, you might say, to do evil. (Even though there is not one bit of robot like material in them.  Nothing but blood, flesh, organs and skin with no soul in them.  Nothing but a brain that has nothing but thoughts of evil controling them.) I understand the predators of the series to have a soul.  I can highly understand that, no questions asked.

I will give a little difference in them and so that you can tell they are the pure evil creations and not natural predators.  I will present several natural predators, even several villians we have known from the series.  So don't worry, there will be natural predators around that try to stop them, but there will be a difference to show that they are not the pure evil.

Well, I've got to go.  I've got work today.  See ya later. :)

Now, in all truth, the dangers are actually what seem to be natural predators, but I tell you now, they are not. These beings are PURE EVIL. They kill and leave the carcass to rot. They kill for nothing more than brief moments of enjoyment when they see the main ones hurt in such agony. They get pleasure from the pain of others. And worst of all, they are creations and not living normal beings. They are a monstrosity of the true evil at hand. As natural as they may seem, they are not natural at all. For the gang, with these dangers, it's either kill or be killed.
No offense meant, but I regret to hear that. I'm a member of the tiny minority that is not so fond of elements that are not likely to be part of LBT as it appears in the movies.
No offense to anybody, but sometimes I regret that there is hardly one fanfiction or role play game that treats LBT the way the original movie and the first sequels do.  :cry
Well, I ask who are the members of this "minority" that you speak of?  I would like to get to know them. :)

Anyways, no offense really taken.  I often do this with my fics.

Oh, and one small question, are you the one who made "The Big Quarrel"?  Because, if I'm not mistaken, it's unfinished on www.Fanfiction.net.

If you are, why isn't it finished?  It's been, what, a year since you updated and still no ending?  What's wrong?  Writer's block or something?

If writer's block is the problem, then I think I have an ending that just might help. (I have an imagination that knows no bounds.)

Oh, BTW, trust me, I'm really enjoying it. (Despite the little problem with the latest chapter with how the text was bunched up and all.)

Ah, Threehorn!  I was hoping to meet ya.  I enjoyed your fics.

"The Happy Threehorn"... Man!  I still have a hard time believing that was a joke all along!

"The Journey to Great Lake" was quite a masterpiece.  Though I did expect Ducky and uh, Tuipo was it? to have a rather strong relationship, if you know what I mean.  :^.^:

As for "The Mysterious World", I am VERY much enjoying it.  Very unique in it's own way, I must say.  It is quite creative, despite it's small length per chapter. (Don't worry, you make up for it with everything else.)

Ah, Roger, you indeed guessed the origin of my name.  Yes, I must admit, I am a fan of Pokemon, but, as you can see, I have been a fan of The Land Before Time longer.

Well, I've got nothing else to say right now.  Fic is going well, though, trust me, it'll be a while before you see the first chapter.

Well, gotta go.  See ya later. ^_^

Happy to see the welcomes.  B)

Now, in all truth, I don't get much of a chance to post as I do have a life. (One word, Job!)

Luckily today is my day off, so I definately have the time to post today.

And I've known about those fanfictions on www.fanfiction.com for quite some time.  My fav out of the fanfics would have to be "The Hunt For Ducky's Voice." (I've read that three times already and want to read it again.  It's not often I fall in love with a story.) :) Anyways, as of now, I'm busy reading "Battle of the Sacred Essence" (which I believe should be rated T instead of K+.) and even though I'm not all the way caught up, I'm definately enjoying it.  I can tell that these writers are quite talented.

Now, I will tell you the truth with the Littlefoot+Ali thing, it was actually thanks to the many fanfictions that I ended up liking it myself.  Now, don't think of me as someone who has jumped on the bandwagon because I NEVER do that.  I choose for myself, regardless of popularity, whether or not to become a fan of something.  In all truth, back when I really enjoyed such a movie as Journey Through the Mists, I was hardly paying attention to whatever hints there were.  Now that I really look back, there were some hints there.  So in conclusion with this part, the ONLY reason the Littlefoot+Ali romance is there is because I'm a fan of the shipping.

Oh, BTW, the one behind it all does have a reason for doing it, and trust me, it's something NO ONE, at least out of those who have posted their fics, has ever thought of.  Trust me, you'll be quite surprised when it is revealed in the final chapter. :)

Anyways, thanks for the welcomes.  I really hope to enjoy this place. :)

Hi there, guys!

I'm pokeplayer984 (the first e sounds like a.) and I've been a fan of The Land Before Time since the beginning.  As of now, I'm at the age of 22.

Now, I have enjoyed such a series since it's release in 1989, but there was a time I swayed away from it.  After the sixth movie, The Secret of Saurus Rock, I brushed myself away because it seemed kinda boring to me.  However, the ONLY reason I did find it boring was because I was watching the shows too much.  Trust me, there is such a thing.  I am someone who needs something new within a certian amount of time to really enjoy a series.

After completely skipping 7 - 10, I suddenly forgot why I stopped watching it.  After that, I wanted to see the newest one, The Invasion of the Tinysaurus, and my love for the series was reborn.  Now, I really want to see the ones I missed.  I know one day I will have them all, because of how determined I am to get them.  The only problem I have is finding them in this small town of mine.

Now out of all I've seen, my favorite is the first one with Tinysaurus coming in a close second.  However, that might change in the future.  My brother, who isn't as big of a fan as me, but is nonetheless, said that the 10th one, The Longneck Migration, was pretty good, and he has made me VERY jealous of him.  Maybe I'll ask him to have him borrow it from his friend just so I can see it.  :^.^:

Out of the whole gang, Cera is my favorite (I'm a BIG fan of tomboyish girls.) with Ducky at a close second. (I just love the way she talks, yep, yep, yep!)  :slap (Oh great!  Now I'm doing it!)

Anyways, to show my fandom for the series, I'm busy making a one of a kind fanfiction.  I'm not sure when I'll have the first chapter completed so you guys can enjoy it, but it will come eventually. (Note: This is my 13th fanfiction.  The third that is yet to be released on the net.)

Here's the basic summary:

The Land Before Time: The Dark Future.

Genre: Adventure/Romance/Dark

Twenty years have passed since the beginning, and the future isn't all it seems.  A darkness has befallen upon The Great Valley and has changed from a beautiful dinosaur Utopia to a barren wasteland that brings nothing but death.  Upon discovery that the cause was unnatural, Littlefoot and the gang set out to find the cause of this event.  However, many dangers lurk in the Mysterious Beyond to stop them.  And the biggest threat to their survival is a friend that they had trusted who they never thought would betray them.

WARNING!  High chance of being R rated due to the content. (Violence, gore, death, inappropriate content and a small descriptive sexual scene.)

Oh, and for you Littlefoot+Ali fans, yes, it does have that shipping in it.

Expect it's release in 2006.

Well, I'd say that's enough me.  Time for those replies.
