On The African Savanah, a group of cubs, three lions, a cheetah, and a leopard were making their way to pride rock, home of Simba's Pride.
The leaderof this group was a young Black fured lion cub named Damon, a cub who's mother had taught him the basics of mystisim before she died. It was his mother's spirit who had guided them here, and now they were within sight of pride rock.
The rest of his Party was Makaila, a runaway white fured cub. Duma, A cheetah who lost his mother to a pack of Baboons. Chewi, a half tailed leopard cub who's mother abandoned him, and scout, a mute lion cub.

At Pride Rock, Prince Kovu awoke at the crack of dawn.
"What a night," he smiled, giving his mate Kiara a gentle, loving lick on the cheek as she slept.

Kiara smiled,
"It was a great night my love so what do you have planned for today?" She asked him with a smile as she woke up.

Damon and his froenmds werent the only newcomers heading towards Pride Rock. Approaching the southern border was a pair of lions one large redmaned and with brown eyes and broad shulders, the iother was smaller, with blue eyes a brown mane. The larger one was named Kopa, and he was, in fact SDimbas firstborn cub. He had thrown into the river as a cub by Zira and had been rescuee by the mystic Nuteri, who was travekling with him. the smaller male was named Makata, he was the second son of King Chaka, and Makata had grown up with KOpa and had decided to accompany Kopa once he learned asbout his birthright.
_ remember you two, you must be on your best behavior. You only get one chance for a good impressoion " Nuteri said.

"Well," Kovu smiled, "I was thinking...."
Suddenly, he stopped and sniffed the air.
"I can smell some lions," he said, "Stay here, I'm gonna go check it out."
Kovu went in the direction of kopa

Damon stopped as he sensed Nuteri, Makata and Kopa, it wasn't long before he saw them Too. Knowing they could not out run them, and that it was too late to hide, Damon prayed he was right about them.
Damon pproched the three. "Uh, Hi, I'm Damon, who are you?" He asked the Mandril and two lions.

dont worry young one. we will not harm you " nuteri replied sagely. ' we have business with the king of this pride and you can do as you please. I am Nuteri, and these are Princes Kopa and Makata. Kopa is a crown Prince actually.' he smiled.

"Who goes there?" Kovu called to the newly arrived lions.
The dark furred prince went up to them

Chui, Makaila, Scout and Duma came out of hiding as they save Kovu. "My Name is Damon, My friends and I seek the son of Mufasa, King Simba. We wish to join his pride." Damon said. "Yeah, He does accept Non lions right?" Duma asked.

Crown Prince Kopa at your service. I'm here to see my father... Simba" kopa said. he noticed a look of shock apear on the lions face. ' and who are you, if I may ask..?

"I'm prince Kovu, mate to Princess Kiara.....wait, crown prince?" Kovu said, catching Kopa's words, "How can that be?" he asked in pleasant surprise

Simbas my father. " kopa said. ' since your mate is a princess, that.. ' ' would make her your little sister" nuteri cut in. " you two have never met, well until today that is. Kovu is your brotherinlaw.' He added.
Nice to meet you, brother' kopa said offering Kovu his paw.

"Because he's Simba's first born!" Rafiki said as he appered. "We feared the worst when Zira bragged abut killing you, king Siba and Queen Nala were so deastated that they never spoke of you again." Rafiki explained, turning to nuteri. " Nuteri, It's been too long!" Rafiki sad as he hugged the other Mandril.

well rafiki i see you havent changed much since we last met, which was, oh back in king mufasas time. we both had royal duties to attend to, you had that ugly business with scar and me well thiose darn jaguars keep trying to overrun the region, so they keep me busy' nuteri said.

"Nice to meet you," Kovu shook Kopa's paw back, as they walked over to Rafiki.
"I see you have an old friend too," he added when Rafiki saw Nuteri

"Oh yes, Nuteri and I trained under the same teacher hen we first learned the mystic ways." Rafiki said. "Now I think both Simba and Nala will want to be reunited with their son." Rafiki aid.
Makaila turned to Damon. "Damon, aren't you going to askk one of them?" She asked. "Not Now Makaila, Kopa being reunited with his parents and sister is more important." Damon said.

Kiara walked out of the den and over to Kovu.
"Kovu my love what's going on and who are these new comers?" She asked him.

I'm Kopa,crown prince of these lands and heir to the throne? Do you know where my father is? " Thats your sister you twit" Nuteri gave Kopa a look."THAT"S my sister?' kopa started, and gave Kiara a second look.

Kiara showed a puzzled look,
"Sister, What do you mean I'm his sister?" She asked him with a slight smirk.

"He's your big brother," Kovu smiled to his mate.

"Yes Kiara, before you were even born, Zira wanted revnge on simba for killing Scar,and so sh took Kopa and threw him into a raging river. But Nuteri found him and nursed him back to health. For what she did, Zira, her children and her followers were exiled." Rafiki explained. "Yeah, Simba and Nala were so heartbroken, they never spoke of Kopa again, neither did we." Timon said as he and Pumbaa showed up.

"She never brought it up to me, either," Kovu realized.

as for why i didnt come back sooner, well the pride i was in was very strict about leaving, in short, I couldnt unless another pride needed me.' KOpa said
_ Dont worry, Kopa has been trained on all the rules customs and traditions a king must know" nuteri said " extensively trained, to the point where i can recite them backwards.." kopa said."To the exclusuion.. well of a social life.. I dont have a mate yet.."

"And your sister here is my mate," Kovu grinned proudly, nuzzling Kiara.
"So I guess you'll be the new king huh?" he asked Kopa

Yes, but dont worry i'm not going to leave you with nothing. we'll have a lot of discussions about what jobs you'll be getting. a king must show mercy clemency, forbearance and generousity. bascally, short of trying to kill me, i 'll let you do as you please." kopa said " and Kiara is still the queen, since i dont have a mate upon my return. My mate will serve her, whenever I get one , that is."

"Thanks Kopa," Kovu replied, shaking paws, "Your sister is a very kind and beautiful lioness."
The dark furred lion went on to explain to Kopa of his high levels of intelligence.

Kiara nuzzled Kovu back and smiled,
"I'm going back to the den to get ready for the day if you need me just call ok." She said to him.

Nala heard the talking going on outside and went to investigate. "What is going on out here?" she asked, looking around.

Kiara smiled,
"Nothing mom some friends just stopped by to visit." She said to her.

Nala looked at the newcomers. "Hello. I am Nala, mate of Simba, mother and queen of the Pride. What brings you to Pride Rock?" she asked.

Damon stepped forward. "My Name is Damon, My friends and I want to join your pride your highness." Damon said. ""I'm Makaila." The white furred cub said. "I'm Chui." The Leopard said, his half tail swishing in hope. "And My Name is Duma, and that's scout, he doesn't talk except in growls and stuff." The young King cheetah cub said. " You do accept non lions right, Me and Chui have nowhere else to go." He added.

Nala looked back at the entrance and then back at the group. "It is not my place to make that choice. If you are willing to wait, I will get Simba and have him talk to you," she said.

Hello Mother, its been a long time " kopa said , looking at Nala. While Kopa did not have many memories of his cubhood, his did remmber his mother. hers was a face which you did not forget.

Nala took a step back when she heard him say 'Mother'. The look in his eyes was unmistakable. "Are you Kopa?" she asked, just to be sure.

yes,i am, mother. you ask simply to be sue, of course. i'm guessing you didnt mention me much" kopa said.

Nala smiled. "Oh Kopa, it is so wonderful to have you back. Wait right here. I will go and get your father. He will be overjoyed," she said.

"Seems the family's all here," Kovu smiled

Nala ran off towards the den. Moments later, she returned with Simba in tow. "Is it true? Did Kopa really return?" he asked, wanting to be sure.

"Indeed it is Simba, your son has at last come home." Rafiki said. Damon and his friends watched and waited.

Simba looked up to the sky. "Thank you, great kings and queens, for bringing him back to me," he said before looking back to the group. "What brings you to the Pridelands?" he asked.

Simba smiled. "I believe you. That is whey I will allow you to join my pride, provided that you remain loyal," he said.

It'll be great having you guys being apart of the family." She said to Damon and the others.

Suddenly Zazu flew in. Sire, I'm sorry to interrupt but You need to resolve a dispute btween two birds. It is over who inherits a nest." The hornbill said.

Simba nodded and headed off. "Everyone, Nala is in charge while I'm gone. Respect her every word," he said as he walked off.

Kiara smiled,
"Sure thing dad and don't worry me and Kovu will make sure that every thing will stay in place." She said to him.

"I Think we'll like it here alot." Makaila smiled as she rubbed up aganist Kiara's leg.

Kiara smiled at her,
"I'm sure you will." She said to her.

Kopa went up tp explore the royal cave, whuich was his home.. memories came back to him, and he blinked away a tear.

Kiara walked up to him and nuzzled him,
"Hey Kopa are you ok?" She asked him.

However no one saw damon sneaking away. He walked outside and climbe up to the top of pride rock. ' How could I be a part of their family, if they knew the truth about me, teywould never accept me.' He thought. Looking out over the land, his new home. Damon decided to head back. " Queen Nala, I request permission to explore your kingdom." He said bowing to Nala.

Nala smiled. "Go ahead. All of the Pridelands are open to you," she said before turning away.

"Guess we have to share now," Kovu chuckled to Kopa, patting his back

"Thank you Majesty." Damon said as he walked out. Makaila, chui, Duma and scout followed Damon, although they kept out of sight.

Kiara smiled and nuzzled Kovu,
"Ever since I met this hunck of muscle the family grew bigger and bigger and now its still growing." She said to him.

sharing is necessary, its how prides with several ions in them keep things together.' kopa replied ' i'll be fine, i..just need a couple days to adjust to being home..

"oh yeah," Kovu purred to his mate, "I'm smart and strong," he winked at her.
"So, anything you wanna do with us Kopa?" Kovu asked

why dont you show me some of your favorite hangourt sopots' Kopa said. ' places you like to be..

Kiara smiled, at Kovu,
And that is why I love you Kovu and sure Kopa we'll be happy to show you around." She said.

Damon sighed as he stopped walking. "You can all come out." He said to Makaila, Duma, Chui, and scout. "How'd you know we were following you?" Makaila asked sheepisly as they came out. " I know your scents." He said, before turning to walk again. "Damon, what's wrong?" Duma asked. " What's wrong is I don't know where to go from here, part of me wants to stay, but the other part wants me to leave." He said. "I'm Conflicted." He said. "Damon, what are you running from?" Makaila asked. "Myself." He simplely said as he turned away. " Damon, we trusted you to get us to Prie rock and you did, so why not trust us with what's wrong?" Chui asked. "I don't want to talk about it." Damon said before stoppin. " But I'll stay, for now." Damon said. <Good, then lets check this place out> Scout said as he growled eagerly.

Kiara saw them walking back and looked at Kovu,
"Kovu I'm worried about Damon he seems to be feeling depressed." She said to him.

kopa walked out of the royal cave and headed down to the pride below
- vitani headed up to th royal cave to see her brother. ' hey , kovu. whats with the newcomers? she said.

"The younger ones I'm not fully sure, but the big one's Kiara's brother," Kovu replied to his sister

Kiara smirked,
"Vitani promise me you'll be nice to my brother." She said to her.

Damon, Makaila, Chui, duma, and scoout soon came to a tree nestled next to a good sized lake. Chui, being a leopard, was eager to climb it. "Chui If you hurt your self, I'l whack you on the head you." Damon warned. " Relax, Damon I bet I can Jump..Woah!" Chui said as the branch snapped as The half tailed leopard came crashing down onto a empty bird nest below. He ultimately landed in the lake. "Chui are you ok?" Makaila asked as she and scout helped their friend out. "Yeah I think so." Chui replied Once a shore, Damon swatted him on the head. " OK, I deserve that." The leopard replied.
"MY NEST!!!!!!!!" Came he shreik of a bird. The destroyed nest was th very on simba had to decide who got, but that was now redundent as it was destroyed beyond reconstruction. "You vandel, you half tailed home wrecker!' The bird shouted as she started pecking Chui's head. "Hey!" Daon said as he swatted the bird to the ground. " You Brat, king simba will here of this!" She threated, flying to Pride rock.

Meanwhile, Simba was still following Zazu, readying himself to deal with the problem that the hornbill had informed him of.

Kiara smiled,
"Vitani i'd like you to meet my brother Kopa, Kopa this is Vitani she's Kovu's sister." She said to them.

nice to meet you ' kopa said with a smile, i just returned from a long absence, so it will take awhile for me to fully adjust to being home and fulfilling my royal duties ' he said. '
nice to meet you too.. your majesty' vitani said bowing hurriedly..

Kiara smiled,
"Kopa I was going to go out to practice my hunting before Kovu gets back I was wondering if you'd like to come." She said to him.

sure, lead the way ' kopa said with a smile following his little sister out into the savannah.
nuteri headed up to pride rock to visit with nala..

Kiara smiled and led the way she than looked at her brother,
"So I guess Vitani's taking a intrests into you." She said to him.

hardly sis, i just met her for goodness sakes. i'm guessing you're the romantic type, huh. while i dont have a mate yet, i'm not that in a hurry to get hitched, even though my job will require having a consort..Kopa replied

Kiara smiled,
"I know but don't you ever find any time to find some time to have fun, Father always told to be who I am I know I'm the former queen but its still our mother who's the actual queen." She said to him.

you're still going to be a queen sis, as a girl, my return doesnt affect you. now if you were a guy, then yes it would. to keep it simple, my mate will serve you, and your mate will serve me. i will decide what jobs he gets and you will do the same for her. trust, in these kind of arrangements, is essential, otherwise it wont work. as for fun, well i've been working and training most of my life, haven't had much time for fun, too much work to be done.." kopa replied.

eanwhile Damon, Makaila, Scout, Duma and Chui decided to head back to pride rock. On the way there they saw Kopa and Kiara. " Hi Kopa, Hi Kiara." Makaila said as they walked up to them.

Kovu was also with Kopa and Kiara.
"I hope we can be good friends," he smiled to Kopa

Kiara smiled,
"Hi Makaila are you guys going to join us or are you goin back to pride rock?" She asked.

Nope, we're going back to Pride rock." She replied. "Yeah, ohh, I fell out of a tree and into a lake,smashed a birds nest and got pecked," Chui said. "Yeah, that bird said she'd tell simba how he destroyed her nest." Duma added. <That bird is nastier than Damon on a bad day.> Scout added through his growls.

Kiara chuckled,
"Don't worry I'll talk to my father about it and he'll take care of it." She said to them.

be more careful next time " kopa said to the kids, someday soon, it wont be my father, but me hearing those complaints. a pain in the tail to have to deal with, but part of the responsibilities and duties of a king. now go off and play, ' He said to Chui and the others. ' the queen and i have a lot of talking to do' he added.

Damon rolled his eyes. " Yes sir." He said as they headed off. "Still sore Chui?" Makaila asked. "Yeah, I'm heading back to pride rock." He said. "I'll make sure you get there too." Damon said.
"Ok, We'll go find Timon and Pumbaa, I bet they'll be fun." Makaila said as the group split up.
Damon got Chui bck to Pride ock and found Nuteri. " Neturi, chui had a fall, I was wondering if you could check him over to make sure nothing is serious." Damon asked.

let me have a look at him.. what were you young ones doing, if i may inquire? Nuteri said as he turned and looked at them. ' be careful how hrd you play, you can get hurt if you arent carefull." he said sagely.

"Damon, I only fell out of a tree into a lake." Chui scoofed as He got examined by Nuteri. "Yeah, but on the way down you took out two branches and that nest those two birds were fighting over." Damon added. " Your lucky to be alive." He scoulded.

"What will i have to deal with?" Kovu chuckled to Kopa

defenses, getting your share of the hunts, oh and then theres the mattr of cubs ' kopa said. ' i'm a believer in having large families, best way to protect against stuff happening.

"Don't worry," Kovu smirked, "We'll have plenty of cubs...."
"I know these lands well, I know how to keep defenses up," the dark furred lion added.
"And after a pretty poor cubhood, I'm glad to get as much to eat as i can, I'm be the best brother possible"

Kiara smiled,
"Kovu why are you all ready talking about having cubs there's so much to do and fun we didn't have yet." She said to him with a smirk.

"So Nuteri, is Chuei going to be ok?" Damon asked.

"I know," Kovu replied with a smile, "Trust me, my darling, we're gonna have plenty of fun before that...."
"Anything you want to do or place to go?" Kovu asked Kopa, "Or do you want me to stay with you 2 for now?"

he'll ber fine, he just needcto take it easy for awhile.' Nuteri said to them.

well, i'd like to have a few minutes to chat with kiara. you go on ahead ' Kopa said.

Kiara smiled as she watched Kovu walk off then she looked at her brother,
"So what is it that you want to talk to me about?" She asked him.

we've got abiot 5 years of catching up to do kiara. i promise that i will be the best brother to you that i can be, ad i intend to be the best king i can. didnt mom or dad tell you about me?" Kopa said.

Kiara frowned, "No not really ever since Scar tryed to become king they haven't really mentioned to me that I had a brother but I'm happy I have one like you." She said to him as she nuzzled him.

well, now you're stuck with me and me with you ' kopa smirked ' So what do you like to do for fun? Kopa asked .

Kiara smiled,
"Well me and kovu usually go to dads special spot and we'd watch the stars or we'd practice our hunting." She said to him with a smile.

Speaking of which, Kovu caught a small animal for a lunch by himself.
"Yum," he grinned.

Kiara smiled,
"And I'm happy to be stuck with a great brother like you Kopa and I'm sure you'll be a great king." She said to him.

Kovu had caught small snacks for Kiara and Kopa as well, and brought them back to the siblings.
"Hope you two are hungry," he said

Kiara smiled,
"Nice catch my love I was getting hungry thank you." She said to him.

I grew up with Nuteri, he was my father figure. he told me the duties of a king , and what great kings must do: be merciful, firm, wise and to forbear punishment. all this was drilled into my head, it was training, training , and more training, if it wasnt with Nuteri, then it was with king Chaka.' he said as kovu brought him the snack. ' thabnks kovu' he said appreciatiovely.

"I've got a lot of training about king duties from my darling Kiara here," Kovu smiled, nuzzling her, "And your dad," he added.

Kovu bit more of the meat he caught for himself after he explained that.

Kiara smiled,
"And your great at being my king my love and you have been keeping up with your duties." She said to him with a smile.

" Thank you Nuteri, and I have something I've been meaning to ask you. I was wondering if you would take me as an apprentice mystic, my mother started my training, but it was cut short when she.." Damon trailed off at the painful memory.

i'm sorry damon, but i cant.a mystic only takes on one apprentice in his lifetime. kopa was mine.' nuteri said shaking his head ' i can teach you some things, but i cannot train you.

"Thanks Kiara," Kovu smiled, nuzzling her back and gently licking her cheek.

" I see, then I shall not trouble you further." Damon replied. "I have yet to take one Damon." Said Rafiki, appearing in his usual manner. " Therefore I will take you as my Apprentice." Rafiki said with a laugh.

so if you come with me kovu, i'd liker to discuss some things with you. ' jkopa said to kovu..

"Certainly," Kovu said, following Kopa.
"What would you like to talk about?" he smiled

"What did you want?" Kovu asked Kopa

what kind of jobs do you want, once i take over.' kopa replied. ' in two lion prides, the guys split some of the royal duties. so i was interested in what jobs you want.. in case yiu are wondering the girls do as well, kiara gets first pick, as queen, of course.

"Well, with my big brain," Kovu smirked, "I'd like to be the idea lion behind any major strategies you want to implement," he explained to Kopa.
"Also, I think I could work out hunting plans for the lionesses, so we always get our favorite meats," he said

alright, i'll tweak those ideas of yours as need be, as you would expect. done, you can be the idea guy and give huints to the girls. anything else? Kopa asked/

"Hmm...." Kovu smiled, "Well, I'm sure even with you being back, a lot of the lionesses still will only have the eyes for me, so maybe for those I can just relay any orders you might have to them."

sure. you'll get your share of girls bro, it will end up being roughly half, perhaps slighly less. at any event, you wont be missibng in the ladies department kopa said. ' as for any issues you may have had in the past, dont mention them to me, i dont care to know about them. if dad has good thing to say about you, then i'm sold.

"Good," Kovu smiled, shaking Kopa's paw.
Kopa's parents in fact did explain the.....less than positive aspects of Kovu's past, but they also said that Kovu was genuinely a good lion, and not to hold it against him.
"The past is just that, the past," Kovu said, recalling something he heard Rafiki say, "Let's just focus on the present and the future."
"And maybe I can help you find a mate bro," he added

that i would be indebted to you for.. just dont pick one lioness, narrow down to a few, and then we'll go rom there..' Kopa replied.

"Of course, I'm sure I can find a few girls with the hots for you," Kovu smirked.
Simba, Nala, and Kiara had all commented on Kovu's intelligence when they talked to kopa about him

Just then, the Bird that attacked Chui earlier flew into pride rock. " King Simba, where are you!" She squawked in anger. "My nest was vandalized by a half tailed leopard cub and I got threatened by a black furred Lion cub!" She yelled.

"Where there any ones you already had your eyes on?" Kovu asked Kopa
