LBT Fan club on DA

Howdy!

I've created a land before time fan club on Deviantart.

I thought of the idea since I was already in a lion king fan club, and a pokemon fan club, and I really think lbt deserves one too. I sent some of you an invitation to join the club (through DA).

Any ideas and suggestions on improving the whole thing, please tell them.

Not a bad shout there Mumbling! As much as I'm not a registered member to Deviantart I'd say it is an excellent idea to create a fanbase there. I know I'll be nipping there every so often

About the treestar thing, what ideas do you have in mind? :unsure:

As for suggestions, I have alot:
A FAQ page would be nice. Like how to get treestars, what to do with them, how to join, submission rules & guidelines and so on.
A DevID would be nice too, something that looks like a banner and put it on top of the profile.

Maybe an even more eyecatching icon?

A weekly/monthly featured artwork?
A weekly/monthly featured artist?
A monthly theme contest?

...

I'd love all those ideas, honestly I do!

As for the treestars, I'm not 100% sure what to do with them yet. Suggestions are welcome.

Basically the FAQ is listed over several journals already.

A DevID would be lovely, as would a nice icon(this one is temporary). I know I cannot make it myself though.

We could make a contest out of that though. But since we only got like.. 7 members or something, it's unlikely that there's more than 1 entry in one month

As for featured artist.. You'd also need more artists

I could create a contest for a DA ID. But then there won't be a deadline. I could just pick a random number like 10 deviations before we close it.

Then people can vote

You should see if people who don't post here are willing to post old art on there. I know that IsisMasshiro and WeisseEdelweisse have the odd bit of LBT art on their page. There's also that picture of the gang grown up by theblazinggecko which is really good, and there's his story. Ukabor also has one of the LBT, and some truly outstanding dino work. Alternatively we could just fave every one of the artworks that we want.

Oh, and you can link to my map and soundtrack thing if you want.

Yea, I'm usually faving the artwork of those who did lbt artwork once or twice when looking at their full galleries. Maybe you would like to join the club though, Almaron?

Alright then! I got the first contest set up which is meant for creating a Deviantart ID.

If you have cool LBT art which you have uploaded to DA before or is still hiding on your computer, you can use that too. You don't have to create a whole new piece of art just because of this contest.

We have a new member who I think is not on the gang of five, but she asked if there were red treestars. I think that's something from the tv-series? Might be cool to exchange 10 'normal' treestars for a red one or something. Anyone help me out?

I think there may be something like red treestars in the TV series or some movies possibly based on the season (fall / autumn). But what exactly are the treestars to be about anyway?

Well I don't know. I'm open for any ideas.

For now it's just a system to award people for wanting to upload art. I don't know what purpose it has yet.

I know other clubs sometimes use point systems analogous to 'treestars' as a means of "purchasing" requests. The club would have a group of volunteer artists who each set the amount of requests that they can take on at once, and then different amounts of points can purchase artwork of different levels of complexity from a volunteer of the person's choosing. I.e., cheapest would be a sketch, most expensive would be a full color picture with background, and there would be intermediate levels between the two.

It isn't perfect, and there are a good few ways in which the system could(and probably does) go wrong, but it's an idea anyways

Of course this is just a free skin. It is temporary now that anyone can use a skin for a limited time. I could make a lbt one but have no idea how to use css

I don't know. If we get a premium member, for as long as we are member... But I don't have money to pay for it.

This one is on for a limited time, doesn't say anywhere how long though.

I also created my DA ID which will stay on there until there are enough entries to vote

Unless someone tells me it's awful of course
