Heads up!
I've got my RPG plan ready for display. :^.^:
I hope we can get this running!
Ok, first, this is a rather... long, complicated story. Which probably belongs more in a fanfiction... I can't even come up with a proper name... :blink:
PLOT:
1st part:
Life is happy as always in the Great Valley. Days come and go.
The gang of five/seven are playing as always. All is well in short words.
Untill one day...
A herd of farwalkers enters the valley, they bring troubled news.
Something has happened in the world outside the GV, what was once a deserted land, has now becomed infested with a strange, dark force, which orgin is unknown. Creatures are roaming the lands, and previously known evil, such as sharpteeth is know even more dangerous.
Not even the lone dinosaur, or any other hero can match these.
If it was dangerous before, it's even more now.
The mysterious beyond has become a land of darkness.
And the "corruption" is spreading, wiping away anything in it's path.
Only the GV is safe... but for how long?
How can the dinosaurs of the GV protect their precious home?
They search hope in the most oldest and wisest of the residents.
They speak of a long time forgotten legend... that has been passed on from generation to generation.
This legend... could it be the key for salvation?
The old ones speak of a hidden valley. A valley which ground hasn't been touched since ancient times.
In this valley... lies a secret. A secret that was sealed long ago.
A secret that speaks about five saviours from far away...
But, the valley's location has been forgotten since long, and it's entrance probably to tough for any grown up to enter. Is that it? Is the last hope gone?
This is when the gang of five/seven steps in.
They decide to try and save the Great Valley.
They search for the secret...
What awaits them...?
This is the plot summary for the 1st part of this story.
If you want more details, I'll give more later, just ask. :)
It's done to about 80 %, which means there may be edits to the plot etc.
This RP will have follow ups, and will contain magic, both of a kind we can't controll, and one that kind we can controll.
But, there might be more magic usage in one part than the other.
Other characters than dinos will play big roles here.
That is, humans.
Humans will most surely first appear in the 2nd and 3rd part.
But pay in mind: Nothing is 100 yet. Edits are more than welcome! :yes
For the next... characters.
We need people to play:
-The gang: Littlefoot to Ruby
-Other GV dinos: you know which.
-YOUR OWN CHARACTERS: Yes, they might be welcome! :yes
-Villians: No dark RP without villians! We need sharpteeth, corrupted beings, "traitors*"
-*Traitors: GV dinos corrpupted by the dark force. Will play quite a role.
One thing that I should make clear:Injuries will occur at times, but NO GoF/S member will die.
So far, I've got 3 members that told me they'd like to join, they are:
Mumbling
Nimrod
Neptunenavigator* (not sure if your joining mate?)
First serve! That means, post your character request.
I don't know who I'll play, I wanted Littlefoot badly (first chance I get), but I might promise him away to Nimrod.
So, I just might just throw in one of my own.
So might you.
We'll see about all this, as it's you guys afterall, who make this possible. :)

Now this is definately gonna be good! Dante, Virgil, and Motochika will side with the Valley. The new baddie that I'll take is Kireek, the leader of the raptor hoarde "Ressentiment".
And my Human may come into this at sometime. His name's Masashige Date.

I want to play my own character Shera. Maybe you could get Ducky for me as well...? Except if Kor joins in too and wants to keep his character. I could also play some villains, as some might know I can be different than loving and caring :p . I'd love to play a mean guy.
As for human, I'd like to be a girl, just a bit easier to do for me. Her name would be Rose... Rose .. Someone knowing a sirname for her? :p :)

I hope the magic system available to players is controlled or some may try to go powergamer with using very powerful magic and wiping out platoons of fastbiters or herbivore dinos. Limits to what one can do may well need to be done to prevent such things from happening. Most on here may not do that, but all it takes is 1 powergamer to spoil the fun for everyone.
If you want to play Ducky go ahead. She's not my character, just one of the ones I enjoy playing. I have plenty to choose from so it's not like I have to do Ducky, I do have Mim and I can choose others. I have a good fastbiter in GVG's rp that I could use in this one, though I've not fleshed out his personality much, or I could make another char or 2, a troodon or a flyer or something, as well as having Diver and the other fc's that may not get chosen.
I"ll be doing only good guys since I don't do villains well.

Human roles:
-The Five: Five young humans of about the same age. They will play the main characters in part 2, and will have the abiliity to use magic. These magics, we choose them when it's time for that part.
There might be more than 5, but for now, that's the number.
More on the Five later.
-Evil organisation S.E.A.R.C.H: This is an evil organisation that I've created for the story. Their purpose? Simply put, kill/wipe out the Five.
They orginaly worked with people with "special powers/abilities", and even back then, their intentions weren't the best ones.
But now, they've been corrupted by the same dark force that treatens the GV.
They'll do anything to hinder the Five from reaching their goal.
That goal, I'll tell you as the story unfolds. But i guess you can figure it out. :)
-Members of S.E.A.R.C.H. what can you play?
Leader/Boss: The head of this evil org.
Officers/generals: More "powerfull" than assasins below, these are real badies who rule over the units of SEARCH. And in close combat, real dangerous.
Evil/bad to the bone! B)
Assasins: These will play big roles. As they will be the ones that will work in the "field" against the Five, face to face. Sorta like marines. :rolleyes:
Will also be undercover, meaning they'll work in secret close to the Five.
Engineers: Yep, handlers of veichles/machines/experimental units etc.
Other SEARCH roles are welcome if you have ideas! :yes
Sub-characters: Characters that play minor roles as we go. Both good or bad. I'll ask for people to play them when the appear. If they appear. :^.^:

Full name: Rose Marion Gravel
Born on: 17 October 1993(14 years old)
She’s got half-long, dark blonde hair. She got green, big eyes. She got a scar on her left knee, because of an accident from the past. Also she has got this mysterious tattoo on her right shoulder. Her ears are a bit pointy. Her nose is small.
School life:
This girl is very smart, at school she earns great marks. She tries to make her homework every day, but her parents want her to go outside more. Also she studies very hard for tests and papers. At school she’s got no friends, but she doesn’t mind sitting alone. When she sits on her own she can concentrate much better.
Private life:
She got many fights with her parents. This is because the interests between her and her parents differ completely. She’s got no friends and likes to be on her own. When she’s got no homework or holidays, she reads a book. Everything is better to her than to hang around with her parents.

She’s a bit shy and silent when it comes to meeting new people. She also doesn’t really know how to handle with friends.

Full name: Gwen Lias
Gwen is about 1,80m(5”10 ft). She’s got black, long hair and blue/grayish eyes. Most of the time her face shows a neutral look. She hardly ever smiles, cries or shows other emotions.
She is an officer in the organization S.E.A.R.C.H. She gained her rank by being loyal to the big boss. She is very strong, both verbal and physical. She carefully thinks before doing or saying something.

Good.... Yeah, Spike, and ONLY Spike, for me. This is a big enough load for me to handle with one character - even playing someone as simple-minded as Spike - let alone any MORE... My brain's been rotting over the years, due to lack of much stimuli after high school...

I can do Cera if no one else wants to and you need someone. Though Threehorn's rp is the first time I've done Cera. Not sure how well I do her there.
As for an old one I can do Mr. Thicknose, if he is old enough to be an old one. He may have heard stuff from his parents, and others, including farwralkers, and he did say in the 8th movie that he remembered every word they said.

I would love to join this RP...without a doubt! I've read all the current post so I know what's going on, and I'm going to be bringing in Longtail, and his 'Uncle' Cyrix the rainbow face, so that's two characters down...I might be willing to play Cera if no one wants her role and since I happen to enjoy it I will definitely be RPing as Littlefoots grandpa.
If at all possible I would also like to play an assassin...I don't have a name for the character yet...that's if there are any slots open. :lol
:^.^: Yeah just as a heads up...I'm thinking about having Longtail becoming corrupted...just for the fact that his darker side is almost never seen in an RP. This is going to be fun I can tell! :yes

I thought of something:
If any of you who joined this first part, wants to be in part 2-3 aswell, I recomend you to have atleast one dino role and one human role, either FIVE, SEARCH or a mecenary etc. Then again, this is the power of Five, but as I said, the number might be higher. But keep this in mind. :)
This is especially for part 2 where humans will play big roles.
Dinos will appear, especially Sharpteeth.
And there'll be meetings between the both kinds.

Currently working with some ideas for the tatoo of the Five, DreamWorld, The Dark Force/corruption etc.
That is how it should work, and the design.
I think I have it clear for me now. :^.^: Mostly.
Otherwise, most things for part 1 (lets stick to now) is quite the complete.
To all: Just take your time to get things clear for you. Create/edit/ready your characters for play, and post the things here (or if requested, in another topic).

My idea's of a brother-sister fast runner nightwalker traveling pair. Brother was banished due to his coloration, sister followed him out. I'll PM what I have to someone, if they'd be willing to look my ghosts over for me.

Magics in part 1.
I'm not sure about this yet.
IF magic should occur among the GV dinos (both gang and personal characters) I need to do some serious thinking about it. The story will have to be re.written alot to fit.
Hence, I persoanlly dislike the idea of GoF with magic.
ABILLITIES re welcome to a certain level though! :)
My main idea for part one:
GV dinos are faced with a treat that uses powers to strong/unormal for them to defend themselves from.
Meaning, they have to use their intelligence, work togehter in order to survive/get past that who stands in their path. That's partly the LBT idea anyway isn't it?
You don't cast a Sharpteeth on fire, you throw rocks at him to trick him. (maybe kill him, LBT1).
What happens next in part 2 and onwards, that's another story! ;)
I belive we can apply to this and still have cruel fun!

And no, not all Sharpteeth are evil in this RP. Chomper that is, and some of the other players characters I belive. :)

None of my characters, if I use any oc's in the rp, will be corrupted. I don't do evil will not have fun doing it, so if I use any oc's they'll all be good.
Though I don't understand that abilities thing and doubt any more oc's are needed in the rp.

I don't like to play evil characters myself. I just see them as..... Distasteful, I suppose, seeing as I walk in the light in real life. :p But, yeah, I've got nothing to worry about with Spike! :D :lol:

Me and Patrick have been using our heads togheter now that he's here, to figure out the last issues about the RP.
Great is, I think we have a sollution to the "connection" idea. :)
I'll try and explain as good as I can:
What sort of connection? Will be told as the story goes.

Well, we have 5 Five members, 7 orginal Gv dinos.
Nimrod, Mumbling and I, are the only ones who acctually plays one of each kind.
So, a connection there would be no prob.

Really, anything a character can do, that makes them more or less special.
Can be anything from running abit faster than others, to mastership in material arts.
Up to everyone what abillities their characters should have.

Kor, you don't even have to. Trust me, if you've been trough so many RP's in the past, without having to worry about this thing, then I'm sure this RP would be no different. So, you don't have to think about it.

Maybe, though if some of the dino chars have abilities I'd like to maybe have at least 1 of mine have some sort of ability, no idea what would fit, power level, ect. I doubt 3 of the oc's being honorary members of a fastbiter herd and maybe being able to ask for their help would count.

Well, summoning allies is quite an asset in many games and stories, so it may work :DD .

not sure if it's an ability since it won't work just anywhere. It's not like the summon spells in oblivion where you can summon anywhere. One of the 3 oc's who can do that have to be in the right area in the mysterious beyond and there has to be some members of the fastbiter tribe close enough to hear the whistle and it may take them a few minutes or more to got to the location, since it's not instant.

That is exactly what I had in mind, to be in a certain area during an event so you can use that OC to call for help in the way you mentioned (I have seen that in games like Star Trek: Bridge Commander, you can ask for help and friendly AI ships will respond, and arrive to your sector in a matter of minutes.). Well, that is maybe not an ability that things ther characters can do in rpgs like this one, but it is still something that should be considered to have due to it's usefulness.

Mim's knowing about stuff and plants likely isn't an ability either, or Mr. Thicknose being as old as he is and knowing stuff. Maybe if one assumes he has a photographic memory when he says he remembered every word of what he heard when he listened to the farwalkers talking about the great beyond, but that is maybe not an ability either.
Maybe Ducky has an ability to stretch her neck, she did it a bit in the first movie to try to show Littlefoot that she is a longneck, though I don't think she's done it since.

Characters: Only dinos
Magic usage: ONLY used by evil/corrupted dinos. Few exeptions may occur as we go. Which means: Wanna use magic in part 1? PM me! First come first serve, I'm not taking in too many.
No power magic like, "I wipe everyone out with my magical lazer tail..." Or something like that, you know how it works.
You should know the plot for part one by now, if not, go back to start of this topic.
For those who haven't joined, and still wants to, you may join during play if possible, or you just have to wait 'till part 2 or 3. Just make sure you post it HERE, in this discussion first. ;) As it will still be open for discussion.
As for character descriptions, post them asap. You may do it as we go aswell.

I would assume it's not an ability to call on 1 specific herd of friendly fast biters that does not work everywhere, just one area outside the great valley since that is the area the herd lives in and wonders around in.
I hope the magic is somewhat limited. I'd not have fun if folks can hurl fireballs and summon outsiders, and call lighting from the sky all over the place. I liked some of the charmed special abilities, though stopping time was to powerful in my opinion. Being able to get uncontrolled visions is useful, though only under gm control, or having some pk.

As for uncontrolled visions, the charmed sister, as an example, had them happen if she touched an object or person, was near a spot, where something would happen, or if someone she cared about was about to have something happen. It was used as a plot device in some places, and a way to provide some extra information. Some ways to keep the episode within 45 minutes.
At first it is only of the near future, but later her visions can cover the past as well, again as a plot device and a way for the sisters to get some extra info.

No idea where everyone teleported off too, or exactly what is going on. At least this time I have my own oc's & 1 fc to rp with including rping with just themselves, instead of that other rp where I left after everyone teleported away.

That is why, my chars, and my temp borrowed char of Shera, are off by themselves. If that is to bad, tough. You can join my group if you want, or have your characters rping by themselves like mine are doing. The others can do whatever the [cencored] they want teleporting wherever as far as I'm concerned now. I can easily handle rping by myself.

From my point of view every teleported off to who knows where. I, and hense none of my characters, know where anybody is, that is why I combined all of my characters, and Shera, into 1 location. I have to decide if I want to continue or not. I have not the [cencored] what is going on, much like happened in another that I did leave permanently, though in that one I had only 1 character so had no one I could rp with.
Feel free to have Cyrix join my group. Though you'l likely prefer joining the teleporting and who the [cencored] knows is going on & who the [cencored] knows where they are group since Littlefot's characters are in that one.

Ok, if you wish. That is part why I was a big vague as to where my group is after they left Ducky & Diver's mother's nest area. Hopefully my group will be less confusing then whatever the ... is going on with the other group & where everyone is.

I can try and explain where we are.
Zaine, Ecco, and I think Blueberry are in a cave talking with a now fully corrupted Longtail. Zaine is volunteering to fight him first in an attempt to save him.
Vylor and Argaya are trapped in a different cave due to the falling rocks. I think they were able to get out, but I don't remember.
As for how we got there, when Zaine realized Longtail was gone for to long, he started running towards the Mysterious Beyond. Blueberry ran after him and pushed him out of the way when a giant rock was about to fall ontop of them. They continued to dodge boulders until they took cover in a cave. I believe Ecco also decided to run after them and eventually caught up with them, and then Darth Longtail found us.

We also need to remember that before the storm, the children were playing tag, so they were split up to avoid being tagged, and that can help explain why they are all so separated.

Way to confusing for me. That is why, instead of having Mim, Petrie and Shera being with the other group and my other oc's maybe in their own group, and maybe joining the main one later, I have all of my oc's, Petrie & Shera in my group since that way I don't have to try to figure out where everyone teleported to or what is going on. That and when Mumbling gets back it's easy for me to give her a summary of what I was doing, I can't of the main rp since I've no idea what the ... is going on or anything with the others as far as they are concerned, and I can not post till she has done her post so she'll not be left behind.
For the forsable future all of my oc's & Petrie will be in my 1 group. When Mumbling gets back she can decide if she wishes to remain in my group or teleport to where ever the .... the others are. That will be up to her.

The basic idea for this RP:
The pure, as we all know it, LBT world with its characters.
A new treat which they don't know anything about, or to defend themselves from.
The "not corrupted" characters have to rely on their inteligence and teamwork in order to solve problems and fight their "superior" enemies.
Like they always have done. (against Sharpteeth etc.)
And why should their first guess be that this new treat is evil magic, when they never, ever have been exposed to magic in any form before?
Take a good example: Longtail's corruption.
Do we know what happened to him? What made him into this new, dark being?
My Blueberry sure doesn't. All he knows is that one of his friends is acting weird and is not like he used to be.
This above should explain mostly everything about the RP plan.

Do you need many Elders? I'm not sure if Mr. Thicknose would count as one. Maybe among Blue-eye's herd there may be an old flier (old enough to call Mr. Thicknose youngster) maybe visiting with the herd. I doubt Blue-eye's great grandfather could walk into flattooth valley (as he calls it) to give the info that he may know. Plus an old flyer could pick up, see & hear many things.

Well I'm back now and have read the rp + this thread. I kind of understand what is going on. I don't know where we left ducky though, did she went with diver? I think that is best, because my characters will be in thesame place then. The group of kor might be walking a bit further so that they reach the others, somehow. The caves might be all connected.

Up you where Ducky is. My idea is to get my group to the mysterious beyond & meet Blue-eye's herd. Their is a very old flyer visiting Blue-eye's great grandfather there and he may count as one of the 'elders' who knows of the valley, as well as I'd guess Mr. Thicknose hearing about it from various sources over his life and Littlefoot's grandfather is bound to have some stories about it. Then depending on what happens they will, I'd guess, return with older flyer. Just a vague sort of idea.
I tried reading what the others are doing, but it's so confusing I stopped reading and only pay attention to when GVG posts about Cyrix. The rest is way to confusing for me to read so I dropped reading it.

That's why I've kept Motochika and Virgil quiet so far. They mainly are going to use powers to fight, while Dante...Well, he's different.
By the way, Dante isn't quite corrupted, but rather under the influence of his Dark Self, the Sankakku, which was awakened by the dark aura from Longtail and Hadrian and consumed Dante's persona almost entirely. He'll come around in a while, without powers and such, until he is awakened in # 2. Just to clear things up.

By the way, Dante isn't quite corrupted, but rather under the influence of his Dark Self, the Sankakku, which was awakened by the dark aura from Longtail and Hadrian and consumed Dante's persona almost entirely. He'll come around in a while, without powers and such, until he is awakened in # 2. Just to clear things up.

Cyrix may be in a cave at the moment with my chars and Shera, though not hard to find I'd guess. The cave may have connections to other caves.

Question at Kor: I guess Blue-eyes heard is quiet big. If you won¥t mind I¥d play a character of them. Or maybe, if that would word out Scarface, my character from the other RP. Maybe he joined your heard after the searching for the nightflower. Not sure if this would work out. It¥s just an idea what came to my mind.

How old and what size, roughly do you see Scarface as being? Do you want to blue-eyes to be a friend or something of Scarface like he was before?

First off,
Now everyone (kids) are supposed to gather.
From there, parts the next stage of the story will be unfolded.
HOWEVER, some kids, that includes my Blueberry, will be paying the meeting a short visit (important), after he's talked with his group. It's up to yourself what way you choose here.
Secondly,
I apologize if my long posts with Blueberry and Littlefoot are disturbing anyone.
It's just my way to add more life and nature to the RP story.
As long as it doesn't affect you other huys, I hope it's okay.
If not, don't hesitate to tell me so.
Finaly,
You're all doing great! Nicely worked things out with "substories" and guest characters! It really broadens this story, and makes it feel more dynamic and alive! Many thanks, and I hope you're still having fun! :)

I guess it's ok to have the very old flyer show up at the meeting place? I assumed it would maybe fit better if different characters had some of the info needed, with some overlapping of information, instead of 1 of them knowing everything needed.
I guess Diver and Mia should arrive soon. I assume the kids gathering doesn't apply to Blue-eyes, his little brother nor Scarface.

We're currently almost at page 29 in the RP.
I thought we'd go on untill end of page 30 or maximum 32 before we call the first part quits.
Any dissagrements?
On another note:
You might want to start and prepare for part 2.
If you have any new characters coming up, POST THEM FIRST!
Speaking of characters, many of those characters in part 1, will not be in part 2.
This is mainly because the kids will leave the Great Valley to search for a way to bring Longtail back and save the valley.
And you know the classic LBT style: The kids go, the adults stays and argues. :rolleyes:
So, you get the point.
Therefor, those who know that they have such a character, might consider creating a new one. That is, a new GV kid, guest characters or bad guys*.
AND to make one thing clear:
Part 2 is NOT the human part.
Q: Why did I create a second dino part?
A: Because I can. And want to. No, but I wanted another one, because I feel that it would be very crowded otherwise.
Part 2 is probably the more action filled part. Except for the human, and human/dino parts that come later. ;)
So make sure you know how fighting goes. Be nice to eachother, no powerplay, but feel free to be "interactful". That is, try and interact with the surroundings etc. I'll do my best to make the RP alive by describing the areas as good as I can.
That would prevent this RP to be stiff. Something I personaly dislike. -_-
But know this once again, I can't say it enough times:
It's all about you. I need you to have fun and enjoy this RP. That's what matters the most. :^.^:

Does that Include any of my non adult oc's or just Petrie? I have Diver (one of Ducky's twin sisters) and her 2 friends Mia ( a maiasaur) and Rhyn (the same type of flyer as Rinkus). I assume it does not mean Blue-eyes, the friendly deinonychus who I've not figured out his age, somewhere around Ruby's age, or or less I think. Littlefoot may not know him, but he is friends of Diver, Mia, and Rhyn, being the older brother or Deon who they traveled with for a while before being reunited with their families who were in the combined herd heading to the great valley as the first movie was going on.
If is just for the folks living in the Great Valley only that would leave them out since they live outside the great valley, unless rhyn snuck away to ask one of them (blue-eyes or deon) to help them find longtail.

Okay, so we all know that Pt. 1 is coming to a close. The question is now, when do we transition into part 2? I suppose only the GM can answer that question. But I'm kinda anxious about starting the next part.

Not to hammer on you Gustav, but I think part 1 should definitely end before characters like Zaine, Longtail, and Dante get too far into their sub story, otherwise we will have nothing to start part 2 with.

Maybe some of us can suggest titles to you.
The Search. The Quest. The Quest For the Secret Valley. The Search for the Secret Valley.
The Secret Valley Quest (or Search). Outside the Great Valley. The Kids Quest (or Search).
Just some not so good ones I came up with really quickly just now.

I'd like it to be some short, mysterious title. Like "Dawn" was. Refering to the dawn of the new adventure.
Now for the new one, when the darkness is drawing closer (dark = night)
I thought of something with dark or night.
Not anything like search or hunt eg. Maybe Odyssey.
But I really like Nightfall, it sounds mysterious and refers to the fact that the dark power is growing.
I like the logo anyhow, and I've saved it as a psd so I can change the name with ease. I'm all open for ideas, but I like it so far.
