I have the name Arianna (after Dumbledore's young sister) for Mama Longneck.

I think The Lone Dragon had Saru for Mama Swimmer and Ralphus for Papa Swimmer.

I think Path Light had Dein as Papa Sharptooth and Teri as Mama Sharptooth.

Just saying because this isn't a real discussion it is more like a 'just for  fun thing' seeing as nearly everyone calls the unnamed adults something different.

And until a name is made canon any name can apply.

I know rhombus has some great names for nearly all characters in your list. I named Ali's Mother Fiona in my Fanfiction Shorty's Dark Past though that name came up randomly (I suck at naming things...)

I once named one of the parent character based entirely on me mishearing something. When I watched LBT 9 for the first time I misheard a line of Littlefoot's grandpa starting with the words "Till then..." in the scene Petrie's mother is shown and somehow I misheard it as "Pterana", which seemed to make sense as a name for the sister of Pterano (not exactly original but plausible). Only later did I notice the mistake (I think I was corrected in some thread here), by which time I had already used the name in my story "Old Threehorns"

I actually like the names being hidden from the audience.  Leaves more the imagination, and generally, I prefer such.  However, since no more LBT movies will be created, a little more closure for the names would do wonders.  

As per Spikes's mom and dad, I've never seen them, and therefore could not make an assertion of what their names could be. It's quite easy to guess their names based on personality and looks...that's usually how some characters from animations get their names.

I don't have much to add to about the naming of characters since I'm bad at thinking of original names, but there is a 14th The Land Before Time moving coming near the end of the year. There's some info about it here - http://actorsentertainment.com/actorse/act...ristie-philips/

Felix Miguel Avitia also ventured into voice over acting for the first time when he was cast to star in “The Land Before Time XIV” movie as “Little Foot” set to release late 2015 in which he also sings.

I prefer to think that dinosaurs in the LBT universe don't really care that much about what they're called and can change their names several times during their lifetimes. For instance: we know that Bron used to be called "Littlefoot" when he was a kid and that's probably where momma Longneck took the inspiration after her son was born. Now when our Littlefoot grows up and has children of his own, they all probably gonna start calling Bron "grandpa" and if he'll be the only elderly male of his species around he might aswell adopt that nickname as his own, "real" name, because - duh! That's what he's going to be then.
