Kind of a weird topic, but I do wonder how members pronounce their own usernames. For example for my username it's pretty simple to pronounce if you are slightly fluent with the english language. If you speak like an american you may say "Rat" with a short "a" sound, rather then if you are British and say it with a long "a". The "lady" part is sort of like that too. The american way of sounding out lady is more "rushed" than the how a british person may pronounce it.
I remember mispronouncing DH's username like "DarkHoromon" when it was supposed to be "Darkhouomon". :p
I hate it when I mispronounce words, so I'm just wondering how do you pronounce your own usernames?
-
If you don't know how to pronounce my username, you shouldn't even be on this forum. :p I do have a few other usernames though including lbtlover and tlordame. I don't think tlordame even has a pronunciation. It's just a randomized combination of the letters in my last and middle names. I just thought of landbeforetimelover out of the blue. I really thought it would have been taken, but I guess I was wrong. I don't know why someone wouldn't want my username except for the fact that it's so long. It's not a real issue for me though because I type at about 96 words per minute.
-
DarkHououmon is pronounced like this: Dark-how-ow-mon.
-
When I first heard of the word 'chronicler' a few years ago, I mispronounced it as 'chron-i-cler', when in fact the real pronunciation is 'cron-i-cler'. Also, another pronunciation it isn't is 'cron-i-cle-er'.
-
If you know how to pronounce the ever popular game, Pokemon, then you know how to pronounce my username, as it is derived from that and pronounced in the same fashion, just alternated.
If you're still having trouble, try this:
Just say, "poke a player" as if it was one word, and there ya go.
Oh, and the numbers are by themselves, not together. So it's 9-8-4. Not 984. :P:
I type at about 96 words per minute
:o Not only do you put my computer skills to shame, you put my typing skills to shame. I can only do about 1/4 of that. -_-

Mine's pronounced how it looks
-
Mine outta be simple: Kan-ser-ianne tie-grr ;).
-
Mine is pronounced:
Ser-is
-
Nimrod, just like you spell it. the i like an i. Nimrod.
-
My I would pronounce as three separate words but perhaps with a smaller gap between words than I would usually put in.
Claw and fang.
-
pronounce my name is as easy as going to the toilet, although this is without all the stinky things, -_-
-
Sorry, but I'm not Dutch, so I'm actually not sure how your name is pronounced. :(
-

It is easy? It doesn't look easy to me.

I agree. To me kjeldo, your's is the hardest name in this topic for me to pronounce so far. :P: If ya want to clear it up for us, that would be awesome. :p :wow
The toilet images weren't exactly necessary either. <_<
-
pronounce my name is as easy as going to the toilet,
When I saw this I had to think: "How hard is it for you to go to the toilet?"
I feel that your name is actually one of the hardest to pronounce names here.
Is is K-jeldo or K-heldo?
-
This certainly depends on the native tongues of the speakers. To me kjeldo would appear relatively easy to pronounce. My name prooves rather tricky for native English speakers, but Kacie did a very good job on an MSN microphone chat a while ago. The a in Malte is pronounced similar to the u in the word "cut" while the e is pronounced similar to the a in mountain.

:slap
See that's what I'm talking about. I completely mispronouced your name Malte! I even tried to pronounce it the way I am supposed to...it's not working...it just sounds odd to me...:p
-
Okay, so now I know how to properly pronounce Malte's name. Now, could somebody please tell me how kjeldo is pronounced properly?
-
I suppose microphne chats are the only certain way to bring a correct proounciation accross. Even with that description it would be a surprise if the name was pronounced quite correctly. If one pronounces English the wa one pronounces German the result is an entirely new language.
-
@serris it is just k-jeldo right?
-
Um...take three guesses, and the first two I won't count. :p
-
Well..I pronounce my username as Baffie pee..
But it's written as Buffypii..
The reason for that is that Buffy is my doggie's name..And the pii part is just another way of saying girl in Norwegian..hehe
-
Mine's a really tough one. I'll try to type it slow.
"Let-Us-Bay-Kun-And-Toe-May-Toe"
I'm sure that cleared up a whole lot of pronunciation difficulties out there.
-
What if you say toh-mah-toe? :p :p :p
-
Try this:
Jed-aye-for-seven-too
-
What if you say toh-mah-toe? :p :p :p
You got me there. :slap
-
I've got another easy one. :p
-
my name should be easy its pronounced St-ar-s or star-s.
-
Mine's simple too. It's pronounced as More-and say "I" as you would 1 word, err, letter? but with the letter "N" in front of it. ;)
-
heehee kjeldo's name hard? :p lol I guess so
Mine is easy, just mum-bling .. english, nothing dutch in it :p
-
Mine should be fairly straightforward, given that most of it is just the name of the main protagonist in LBT. As for the numerical portion, that's pronounced "five-oh-five"
My full username pronunciation is like this:
"Little-foot-five-oh-five"
-
simply Oz-band
-
<--- obvious :P
-
Mines Easy
-
Mine's very easy; it's just pronounced rubber-ducky. :p
-
Like everyone else, I have an easy pronunciation for my username. For the number I usually say 'seven-seventy' and skip the whole 'hundred and' part :p
-
Not like this. (https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=hxNAHPnWwcw) (And yeah, I’ve often wondered why this video exists, and why someone cared enough to make it.) It’s just pronounced like the mathematical instrument (https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=HlRqj80skO4).
-
Mine's easy as well. Rhom-bus (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vLXptgOwKC4)
-
mine is pretty easy, just jas-see :DD
-
I think my name might be difficult for some people, so here is the pronunciation.
Level

tetris

I think an important thing in pronouncing my username is that the two "e"s are pronounced equally.
My "II" actually means "the second", but nobody called me like that yet. The "II" has to do with the creation of my username. Most people pronounce it "I-I" like in 'Internet'. I think that's okay, since I call it "I-I" myself. :DD It would be very strange if someone would call me "Levente the second" by now.
The mistake that most people make with my username is that they are mistaking the "II" for "ll". The problem is, that some fonts make the big 'i' look the same as the small 'L'.
In the following example, I'm using the font "arial":
Internet
leaf
One can't recognize any difference, but it is there.
Well, that's how most people pronounce my username. However, I'm open for other variations. Maybe there is a better one out there :p
-
Mine isn't really that hard to pronounce. A-nag-nos.
-
Mine isn't really that hard to pronounce. A-nag-nos.
I've always thought of it as Ana-g-nos. :oops
My username is pretty self-explanatory to pronounce. Im-prac-ti-cal Di-no.
-
To be honest, few people have had trouble with how to pronounce my name. Now they have even made a silly but friendly joke about it. A-nanas, which also means pineapple in Finnish. :p
-
Pa-ra-dice-birb
XD
-
I will never understand why people say "birb" on the internet. Most memes are stupid in my opinion, but there are some I find quite fun, such as Rick Roll pranking for instance. :)
No offense, of course.
