Title: Always There - Solo trumpet with accomp.
Post by: action9000 on May 23, 2008, 01:54:57 AM
Hey all!

More instrumental LBT songs!  Here's "Always There" on a solo 'trumpet'. :)
I think it came out pretty dang awesome, I must say!

Hope you like it!

(I apologize for the slight background noise.  IN order to capture the background music I had to use my cheap-o sound card, which introduces some hissing unfortunately.  It's pretty minor though.  You can really only hear it when there isn't any music playing.)

To Mumbling: I'll probably end up doing a trumpet thing of some sort for your song.

To Adam: I think you may like the sound of this one.  I was messing around with stereo separation and reverb.  I may have gone a little too hard on both but I'm still experimenting.  ;)

Trumpet, eh?  I've wanted to pick up the real deal, myself...  I don't have the time - or currently, the speakers - to listen to it, but, hey man, I'd love to hear this sometime!

I actually don't even own a trumpet, nor have I picked one up since high school. :p  I may try playing again someday, but not until I move out.
I actually performed this song on a virtual trumpet, playing on a keyboard.  The melody was played with the right hand, while my left hand was controlling knobs and wheels to add in the expression. :)
Some of the legato stuff, especially near the end, is a bit sloppier than it probably should be.  Coordinating the two hands when only one of them is actually playing notes is a little tricky!  :lol If I did this again, I'd try to play it a little more nicely but I'm really happy with this one, really!

*really needs to get an expression foot pedal controller for his keyboard!* :P:

*puff* *puff*
Okay...here we go...
Oh, by the way...you may want to stand off to the side when you see it flying at you.  Attempting to catch something that I threw from 12,000 kms away may result in.....well let's just say I'm not liable for any damages. :p :lol  :lol
