Title: XviD.Rets.avi?
Post by: pokeplayer984 on March 19, 2009, 12:30:35 PM
I was looking through some things on the net when I came across a file download that had the format, XviD.Rets.avi.  Now, I've seen videos in .avi as well as XviD, but not one like this.  In fact, I've never heard of it, at least the "Rets" part.  What the heck is up with it anyways?  Also, why put one in this format when .avi alone is good enough?

The last part always is the actual one. I've once made this word document:

File.doc.doc.doc.doc

... The actual .doc wasnt in there yet. People can name the file like basically anything. So that is probably just an .avi file. But I can't be too sure.

Iris is right, the file is an AVI.

My guess is, because of that filename, the AVI was compressed using the XViD codec.  I have no idea what Rets is.

Yup.  It's AVI.  Just delete the other crap and it should work fine in VLC or another type of player that can play AVI files.
