As part of his Land Before Time marathon, Saberspark last week found out that there was a Land Before Time show in the franchise, so upon learning it, he decided to stream and react to every episode of the series last Saturday on Twitch.

I thought if you were interested in killing some time, the stream is currently on VOD, so if you want to watch it, here’s the link to his stream.  I should note the entire stream lasts 11 hours, and the first episode is cut off a bit due to Saber trying to stream this on YouTube (that failed, which is why he moved to Twitch last minute).

The Fridge / Want to start writing fanfiction
« on: June 08, 2023, 02:33:23 PM »
Very recently, I’ve been wanting to write a fanfiction for a cartoon I’ve been watching lately, but I don’t know where to begin.  Does anyone on here who have experience writing fanfictions know where to begin?

The Fridge / HBO Max is now Max
« on: May 30, 2023, 07:49:13 PM »
I’m a little late to share this news, but if you haven’t realized already, HBO Max has now officially rebranded to Max.  The new service combines everything with the WB-owned properties, with the Discovery-owned properties.

Those who saw the new service, overall thoughts?

The Welcome Center / It’s been awhile
« on: May 26, 2023, 04:28:04 PM »
Hello there guys, do you remember me?  If you don’t, my name is chomper94, and I was a member of this nice community since 2021.  I don’t really remember the last time I’ve been on here, and it’s honestly been awhile actually, but I’m back I guess, making my grand return, and a lot has changed since I left.

First off, I still have a bit of Land Before Time energy in me even after leaving, though it’s not as frequent as it used to be, since I’ve mostly been focusing on my other likings, starting with Bonkers, and as of recently, the 2016 Bunnicula cartoon, which you probably saw me post about before on here back around December of 2022 I think…

Secondly, most of my time when I was gone from the forum, I was pretty much on Twitter, and as of recently, on my new YouTube channel.  I don’t use the YouTube channel that often, mostly I just put my memes on there since that’s my habit, and I will say that the editing of my memes has improved a lot since I first started, so maybe stay tuned under the general meme thread in The Party Room so I can share it with you guys.

But yeah, it’s honestly good to be back on the forum.  It’ll take awhile for me to get settled into the forum again, but I’ll probably get used to it immediately soon.

Stay chompy boys,

Silver Screen / Werewolf by Night (2022)

There hasn’t been a post on this upcoming special yet, so I’m making a topic on it.

Silver Screen / Final Space has officially become a tax write-off
« on: September 26, 2022, 06:58:09 PM »
Yes, this has been confirmed by the creator himself, Final Space has officially become a tax write-off by WB/D, after being removed from HBO Max, and digital platforms altogether.

Here’s the official statement from the creator of the show:

Although I never watched the show, imagine working on a show for many years, only for it to be washed away by a greedy CEO.  Honestly, the fact that David Zaslav hasn’t been fired yet is beyond shocking.

This is honestly a pretty amazing announcement I wanted to share with you all.  For years, Disney was overprotective of their content, and would NEVER license their films to other companies (except for the Touchstone/Fox/Hollywood film libraries).

But now, the fact that WALL-E will be the first film in the Criterion Collection seems legendary and will definitely be a immediate purchase for me.

The film will be in a 4K/Blu-ray combo pack, and it’ll release on November 22, 2022.  You can pre-order it now on the Criterion website or any other retailer like Amazon.

Bonus features to be included:
- 4K digital master, approved by director Andrew Stanton, with Dolby Atmos soundtrack
- One 4K UHD disc of the film, presented in both Dolby Vision HDR and HDR10+, and two Blu-rays with the film and special features
- Alternate 5.1 surround DTS-HD Master Audio and stereo soundtracks
- Two audio commentaries: one featuring Stanton and the other, character supervisor Bill Wise, coproducer Lindsey Collins, story artist Derek Thompson, and lead animator Angus MacLane
- New programs on Stanton’s cinematic influences and production designer Ralph Eggleston’s color scripts
- Tour of the Pixar Living Archive with Stanton
- Behind-the-scenes look at the making of the film, including segments from early animation reels
- The Pixar Story (2007), a documentary by Leslie Iwerks
- More than a dozen documentaries exploring the film’s production and robots
- Anatomy of a Scene: The Plant, a masterclass with Stanton
- “WALL•E”: A to Z, a new program featuring Stanton and coscreenwriter Jim Reardon
- Deleted scenes featuring commentary by Stanton
- A Story (1987), a student film by Stanton
- BURN•E (2008), a short film by MacLane
- Trailers
- English subtitles for the deaf and hard of hearing
- English descriptive audio
- PLUS: An essay by author Sam Wasson; selections from Stanton’s sketchbooks, script notes, and drawings; and artwork from the WALL•E team

Disappointed that Presto isn’t included on this release.  Guessing they couldn’t get the rights to that short, but either way, the features on the set is outstanding because even Disney wouldn’t do most of these bonuses.

The Fridge / Tips on starting an abridged project?
« on: August 17, 2022, 01:34:28 PM »
Recently I was thinking about starting an abridged project on a specific cartoon episode, but I’m not sure where to start working as although I have my idea of what to do my abridged project on, I feel like I can’t get it start as I’m confused where to start.

Do you guys have any tips on how I can get this project rolling?  I’m asking because this is the first time I’m hosting something like this, and I don’t know where to start.

Makes the game worth playing now.  I’m looking forward to the new locker system and special weapons in the game, and I’ll definitely be there for the Splatoon 3 World Premiere on August 27 (which by the way, you can pre-load the premiere on the system now so you enter it right away when it starts).

The Fridge / HBO Max Content Gone (including digital platforms)
« on: July 16, 2022, 07:24:44 PM »
Well there’s goes another streaming service starting to go bad.

For those who haven’t been keeping up with the news, basically HBO Max content such as Final Space, Chad, and Snowpiercer have left the service without any warning at all.  This also includes digital platforms as well.

This somehow includes content made for the service as well, like An American Pickle and Superintelligence (luckily there’s a DVD release in the US for those movies).

According to sources, this is apparently due to the Warner Bros/Discovery merger, which means some content has to leave services until further notice, but why remove them without warning?

I honestly hope this doesn’t continue, because the fact that some content got removed without any other way to access them is pretty scary, especially with Chad (a complete 2nd season was going to air on TBS, but ended up suddenly getting cancelled last minute, and left TBS on demand).

I dunno, what do you guys think about the situation?

Silver Screen / Bonkers (1993-1994)
« on: June 19, 2022, 06:17:02 PM »
I haven’t really seen a topic for this show yet, so I thought I would create one since it’s currently one of my favorite Disney shows that released in the 90’s.  It’s also one that nobody remembers, so I hope you find this show a forgotten gem.

Bonkers is an animated series that premiered as a preview on Disney Channel in February 28, 1993.  It later premiered in syndication on September 4, 1993 until February 23, 1994.  The series lasted for 1 season under 65 episodes (which are separated into 4 groups, 5 if you count compilation episodes).

Synopsis:
Bonkers D. Bobcat was one of the most famous cartoon stars of the 1990s.  Although one day, he gets fired due to low ratings, and ends up later getting a job at the police with a human partner named Lucky Piquel.  Many episodes later, he is partnered up with a new human partner Miranda Wright, after Lucky gets promoted to the FBI.

Cast of Characters (this list will only include characters important to nearly every episode; see Wikipedia for full list):

Main Characters:
Bonkers (toon bobcat, later joins police)
Lucky Piquel (partner of Bonkers)
Miranda Wright (2nd partner of Bonkers)

Recurring Characters:
Fall-Apart (toon rabbit, tends to fall apart a lot, hence his name; Bonkers’s stunt double before getting fired)
Leonard Kanifky (chief to Bonkers and Lucky; absent-minded)
Francis Q. Grating (chief to Bonkers and Miranda in separate batch of episode; dislikes Bonkers a lot)

As for other stuff involving this series, if I had to choose a favorite episode of this series, it would be “Basic Spraining” due to it being one of the darkest episodes of the series (what can I say, Don Bluth made me like dark stuff).

I hope this information gets you interested in this series, and if you already watched it prior to this topic being created, what are your thoughts on it?

(Bonkers can currently be streamed only on Disney+)

Silver Screen / Strange World (2022)
« on: June 17, 2022, 07:11:36 PM »
We didn’t really have a topic to discuss this movie yet, so I created one for the new upcoming Disney film Strange World, which is set to release in Thanksgiving of 2022.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5lR0pkUjzb4

Also, just to let you guys know, this film will apparently feature a gay character named Ethan as one of the main characters of the movie.  For those who live in countries that banned Lightyear, there’s a chance you probably won’t be seeing this at all.
