Captain Carson followed Stripetail's lead. Saying nothing, she took a seat on one of the surprisingly comfortable chairs. The headmaster's office had a smell that reminded her of a library but there was distinctive medicinal-spicy-herbal smell that she could not place. Indeed, she could actually feel the ambient magic emitted by the numerous artifacts in the area in the form of a mild prickling sensation on her skin.

"I thank you for the hospitality, Headmaster," Captain Carson said. "But I am afraid I must decline your offer of tea as it may negatively interact with my physiology."

She then waited for either of the two mages to initiate the conversation.

Darius Kaldreth drove his dune buggy through the streets of Esbenshire. Even though it was a known nexus where Magicfolk and Muggles mingled, the town appeared to be relatively normal, despite Prime Minister Fudge's proclamation of martial law. The slender Ferret wondered how many of the locals were actually Aurors in disguise.

Of course, all Spirarians were briefed on the hazards of magic on this planet; if they saw any acts of magic or anything magical, they were to immediately flee the area.

Doctor Kerzach had tasked him with purchasing some sloe chutney and he had successfully done so at the local farmer's market. Only he had the misfortune to see a witch selling several potions as well as a wizard selling some of the magical wildlife.

When he had heard the cries of "Obliviate!", he immediately got in the dune buggy and drove off to the field where Spire of Winter was located and drove up the loading ramp. Feeling secure inside the motor pool, the Ferret let out a breath and began unloading the sloe chutney he had purchased.

"Looks like I made a clean getaway," Darius muttered as he took the containers of chutney to Winterville.

My memory is very fragile. I can rewatch an episode of a show that I've literally seen last week and I won't remember that I've already seen it. I can reread books and reexperience them entirely. Some things do stick in my brain better than others, or I might recognize things about halfway in, but in general it's no good. Along with this I also seem to have a terrible recollection of faces, so watching TV with me is always a challenge. My colleagues are now telling me things like "this is the same guy we saw at the family dinner earlier", to help me understand the context of things. It's really quite interesting, and at least I do remember important things like who I am, what I do and who the important people in my life are, but it's definitely a challenge.
