General Land Before Time / Journey of the Brave (LBT 14)

You know, I REALLY think it's Cera saying the "We'll never make it through!" line. It sounds almost exactly like her, and she and Ruby don't have very similar voices. Cera's got a bit more of a lower pitch and that matches with whoever said this line. If it's Ruby, then she might have a bigger role to play, but I'm almost definitely sure that it's Cera. If i'm wrong, I'll be the first one in the duncecap, but I'm pretty darn sure it's Cera.

I have no idea how many times I've watched this trailer. But, yeah it looks like this might be a prequel to the series where they find Ruby and Chomper, and that would be pretty exciting, since the TV series left a LOT of unanswered questions. Also, the giggle definitely SOUNDS like Meghan Strange, so I have a good feeling that she will be reprising her role as Ruby. But I have no idea who'll do Chomper. Time will tell, I suppose, but I'm really pumped for the movie so far.

I also can't wait to hear all the scREAMING.

Character Discussion / Gang Of Seven

^That's because the actors who play Littlefoot all have to have a certain type of voice that is mostly achieved by boys who haven't really hit puberty yet, or have kind of a high voice. I think that Felix Avitia is only about 12 right now, and he sounds perfect for Littlefoot.

Meanwhile, the rest of the gang (with, perhaps, the exception of Chomper) all have a kind of steady voice that can be achieved by certain voice actor. That's mostly why Littlefoot is the one with the ever-changing voice actors.

First of all...FEATHERED DINOSAURS I'M SO EXCITED WUUUGHGHG

Second of all...REBA (well, if they got her on board, it can't be TOO bad...)

Thirdly, it doesn't look too bad. The voice acting is pretty nice. Felix doesn't do too bad of a job as Littlefoot. Anndi's definitely in this, which I am so happy about, as well as Rob Paulson with Spike. It's him from the sound of Spike's grunt. Also, Chomper and Ruby! They'll at least be in the movie, even if they're not part of the gang...but at least they're in it. The animation quality looks a bit better than 13 or the TV series to me. All in all, it seems pretty promising. Kind of weird title tweak though. But, aslong as it's the same movie I'm cool with it.

So I take it no one's going to answer my question.

I'm sorry if I'm coming across as whiny but it seems like every time I ask a question/try to start a conversation on this topic I get blown off.
^"Amending Fences" is, I think, derived from the expression "Mending Fences" "Building Bridges", those kind of things. It basically means that twilight is going to "AMEND" her relationships with her friends from Canterlot. When someone says, "Let's mend the fence" or something, it means that they're going to mend the relationship or fix the problem.

I hope this helped. :)

In a fiction world, yeah, totally, go nuts! Make all the Spinosuarus Rex babies you desire. I ship LittlefootXCera, so who cares.

In a realistic world...yeah, maybe not. The T-Rex and the Spinosaurus were two totally different species, the Spinosaurus not even being a Tyrannosaur or in the same family as the T-Rex. That being said, both species were reproductively isolated from each other due to biological boundaries. Simply put, I don't think it would work. Even if, by some miracle, the two did happen to have an egg, it's highly unlikely the egg would hatch and, if it did, the offspring would not be viable.

If, per se, you happen to get another type of Tyrannosaur, that being in the same family as a T-Rex, like maybe a Gigantosaurus, then it may work. Think of it like a mule, produced by a Horse and a Donkey. Maybe it would work, but then the question is whether or not the offspring is viable. But, as the saying goes, nature finds a way.

General Land Before Time / LBT 14: When does it take place?
« on: March 21, 2015, 03:15:30 AM »
^I'd just lie in the middle of the road and say "Just get on with it."

But, hey, if we've had 13 movies with just the gang of five, then surely we can have another one. But, if they DID ignore tv canon, then the Big Longneck Test would have never happened. So that would be interesting to explore.

(But seriously, I would probably drown in my own tears)

You know, I really hope that it doesn't play out like that, and that it comes AFTER the tv series. Although I'm DYING to know what Bron and Shorty's initial reaction to having a Sharptooth in the valley AND him being friends with Littlefoot, I think that aspect could be kind of a point that's developed in the 14th movie, but not the subject of the movie itself.

If you think about it, it would make a lot more sense to have it played out after the Big Longneck Test and the tv series, mostly because you can get so much more development to work out characters and tell the story of how Bron and Shorty first came to the Valley through those characters and the adventures that they'll go on and the things that they'll go through, rather than being tied down to "Okay, so we need to make X and X happen to reach to the point that we've already established". To a certain extreme, if that were the case then it could be considered a midquel.

One thing that I really adore about the series is that it knows how to create and write characters. Stories and plots? Maybe not, but they do know what they're doing when it comes to Littlefoot and the gang (We've had 13 movies and 26 episodes, damn it). Adding Shorty to the mix (Which I pray to GOD that they do) can help serve that purpose of, "Well, you know how when we first came to the Great Valley that..." story that many of us (presumably) want. Having him join the gang to look for his and Littlefoot's dad with Chomper and Ruby too, can definitely bring up some good conversation about this kind of strange relationship.

As we saw in the Big Longneck Test, Shorty has a big problem with how Chomper eats, but doesn't seem to mind the little guy all that much. But, can you really blame him? On the other side of it, Chomper seemed to, for lack of a better term, almost idolize Shorty when he lied about taking the test himself, and was the first one to jump at the chance of going to the Great Stone Walkover with Shorty leading the way. It could be Chomper's goal of trying to "assimilate into the herd", but it could also be something of a "Well, this is Littlefoot's brother, so he's probably pretty cool!" mindset that he could very well have. Assuming that the 14th movie will include tv canon, development between Shorty and Chomper should prove interesting. It could also prove how that initial reaction was. Who knows? Maybe we'll get some flashbacks.

We don't need to know what exactly happened before the Big Longneck test, and we don't need that to be a full 1 hour and 20 minutes. That story can be worked into the film, but I definitely don't think it's a good idea to make it just about that. Having a separate adventure looking for Bron is more than fine with me.

Hey, I don't know if this was specified, but what kind of raptors are the pack? I remember that it was mentioned that Skytail and his pack were Utahraptors, so are Littlefoot and the gang the same kind?

I always thought they were. It just seems to make sense to me. Plus, the series never tells us anyways. IT's fair game, as far as I'm concerned.

Hey, Bongo, I just noticed that the not mane six mane six's (?) faces are all the same. lol

All aboard the hype train for season 5, I guess. The concept art of EQD looks really cool. We're even getting a griffon! Does this mean that Gilda will come back? I sure as heck hope so.

General Land Before Time / LBT 13
« on: February 15, 2015, 11:57:57 PM »
It had catchy songs (One of which is one of the best ballads in the series, in my opinion), a very valuable moral, a kind of "thinking-outside-of-the-box" mentality, and some funny characters. It had good reasoning as to why Littlefoot wanted to help the Yellowbellies, and it was very relatable.

I actually love the yellowbellies. I was laughing pretty hard at some of the jokes. They got good actors to play bad characters and, you know what, it did pay off. The characters learned something, had an adventure, got home safely, and that's really what matters at the end of the day. It's not spectacular by any means, but I think that if you go into it with the mentality of "You know what, this is in no way going to stand up to the first one and it's going to be terrible so I'm just going to take it for what it is," then you won't be disappointed. It's actually really cute. If someone came up to me and said, "Hey, buddy, want to watch Land Before Time 13?" I would say, "Sure! Crank out the popcorn, friend!"

General Land Before Time / What was in the Great Valley before they came?
« on: February 15, 2015, 04:04:44 PM »
I actually always thought that it was unihabited before the herds came. "That's where all the herds are going" implies to me that it was just discovered (perhaps by a flyer herd spotting it along their way) and that's why there was such a big migration with all the other herds.

Jeff Bennett's been at it for so long that I'm just used to him. But, Will Ryan does put up a pretty good performance. If you compare the two, though, they sound really different. I prefer Bennett, in any case.
