...If I counted right, anyway.

Well, about four days ago marked the 24th anniversary of beloved young actor Judith Barsi's death; the original voice actor of Ducky.

It's hard to believe that so much time has past since the tragic event, but we will always remember her in our hearts, and with the impact she left on us through the films she took a part in.

For those who don't know what tragic event I'm talking about, Judith Barsi's Wikipedia article will describe it in much greater detail; http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Judith_Barsi

I just can't believe there are such cruel people in our world, especially ones as harmful to others as young as her. :cry

I've been thinking of drawing some sort of special tribute to Judith, like maybe draw something of both Ducky and Anne Marie, another Don Bluth character she provided the voice for.

Yes, very sad. I cried inside when I read it long ago.

That would be a great idea! But even more, would be to include, maybe friends? Because I know she voiced Ducky and Marie, but if you put in some friends, like maybe her mom, or someone at the studio that was really friendly, or perhaps friends in the movies like Charlie (but that would take a while right?).

Just as an update, I found a heart warming tribute someone on Youtube put together for her; Judith's Story.
Judith's Story.

Some of the information might not entirely be correct, though.

It probably would, but I'll see if I can give that a try.

Don't take my word entirely, though; I sometimes tend to procrastinate on things.

R.I.P.
Indeed.

May Judith rest in peace.

So sad when a child's parent is so screwed up that he finds it necessary to end the little one's life.  :cry RIP Judith.

R.I.P Judith, you won't be forgotten.  :cry

As for her father Josef Barsi: Screw you!  :anger

This is so sad, poor little girl. I think this should be in the 'after midnight' section of this board, as it is quite sad. :cry

It's something that's changed my experience of the LBT and All Dogs Go To Heavy to this day.  Hearing such a sweet little voice and to think that it was silenced by such a drunk, inhuman monster....  Every time I watch those two movies I want to burst out crying...  To think that she was dragged into the darkness so soon and by her own father no less, it's infuriating.

Yeah, probably would have.

I just don't like to post too much on that section here.

Yeah, it still kind of leaves me feeling burned up, too.

Hopefully, Judith is now living in a much better place away from her father.

I'm not one who tries to determine who goes to heaven or who goes to hell, because I can't stand "Holier-Than-Thou" attitudes (trust me, that way of thinking won't get you past St. Peter any quicker :rolleyes), but when I think of child-killers, I can't help but feel contempt toward them <_<.  Josef Barsi is no exception.  While I don't wish ill-will upon anyone dead or alive (big believer in karma ;)), for once, I hope his spirit has to live with the memory of what he did to his wife and daughter for a long time.  Alcoholism brought out the true demon from beneath his skin, and nobody (CPS, adult coworkers, neighbors, etc.) truly forced an end to the madness before it was too late, which is the true tragedy to this story.

As for Judith and her mother, I think I'm pretty sure where they're at :yes.  She'll never be forgotten by us, and through Ducky and Anne Marie, she won't be forgotten for generations to come :).
