Hey that's pretty sharp! He's got a strong resemblence to Pterano although you can still see it's Petrie! Nice job, top notch stuff ;)
-
How did you draw that? What sort of materials and program?
-
freakin good! and very detailed!

Thank you all for your wonderful support! ^^
"What tools did you use?" Photoshop CS2, and Tablet
"Is Petrie your favorite character?" Yes he is! :D He and and Ducky are both my favorties. ^^
I shall add more later. Currently I have another picture in the process of being complete.

"That pic in your signature is so cute!"
Lol! XD Thanks. I did that at about 7 in the morning..laughing
the entire time. I thought it was the funniest thing in the
world. It is cute. I hope it'll one day be canon.
Currently, I think Ducky has a bit of the puppy love for Petrie. ;3

"I've been wanting to meet you so much! I like his pose!"
Thank you! It's always nice to meet fans of my fanart. ^_^
I'm still playing around with what adult Ducky's look. I'm using
her mother as a bit of reference. I'm hoping to have that ready soon.
-
you are REALLY good. I love this.
-
How long did it take you to draw this? It looks very excellent.
-
Thanks all! ^^
This took about 2 days I do believe. The line art takes the longest.
It only took about 30 min. for the backround so that's proof. ;3
-
Sounds like you've been drawing for a while.
-
Yes, I have been drawing since I was about 5 years old. I'm 20 now. XD
It takes time.
-
That is a long time to be drawing.
-
that's a very nice picture! i agree he does resemble Pterano a lot. keep em coming :)

Yay, my favorite character's next! I can't wait, after the awesome Petrie one.
You're amazing. I can't draw for beans.
-
I'm posting a Valentine's Day pic....now! :D
-
You can draw, just have to draw a lot, then some more, then more after that.
-
It takes time. That's no lie. ;3

You are using a graphictablet WeisseEdelweiss? I have for a while been trying to buy one at ebay, but so far the wacom tablets were always sold for more than I was willing to bid. In spit of the fact that the wacom tablets are supposed to be the best (no batteries required for the pens etc.) I guess I might have to settle for a cheaper tablet.
I wonder if you can give me any useful hints which I should keep in mind when looking for / working with a graphic tablet?

I'll be honest with you, Malte. I didn't have a clue as to what kind of tablet I wanted, however I came across a rather large AIPTEK tablet. It works very well for me.
You're absolutely right about the batteries. Although it can be annoying, I learn to live with it. ;3
What I find, when people first start out with their tablet, is that they have a difficult time drawing on the equipment and looking at the screen at the same time. This difficulty holds merit as we are all traditionally accustomed to looking at we draw or write as we put it on paper. Getting use to the tablet is all something that comes with practice just like drawing itself.
Working with a tablet has many benefits vs using a mouse. It provides as much control (if not more) as a pencil on paper. I'm a big fan of traditional art yet I'd much rather use Photoshop and my tablet. It's a geat opporitunity to work with extreme detail.
I hope that assists you. If you have anymore questions ask away. ^^

Are there certain brands or something to look for when one does think about buying one?
I guess most software one uses can be a bit pricey. I didn't know the pens took batteries, I guess like wireless mice. Never liked those, the main reason is every one I tried just stops working after at time, even changing the batteries doesn't help.
I guess not looking while one is drawing is like not looking at the keys while one is typing, though a bit harder.

Thank you :)
One thing I'm wondering about is how long it takes until the batteries in the pen have to be changed. Can you say about how many hours it takes for the batteries to run down?
-

DAM! 15 years, i've been doing it for like only 4 mouth's now and i suck arse but i just like drawing
-
Awesome looking one of me much older. :D :D Good seeing you around the GOF again! :wave
-
just keep drawing, imagine how improved you'll be after 1 year, let alone 5.
-
That's optimistic. Maybe there's hope for me yet............nah!
-

It takes probably about a month or longer.
For the pen I use it requires a AAA battery.
