Title: Super Smash Bros. Brawl
Post by: Threehorn on August 04, 2006, 09:23:25 AM
Not sure if a topic is opened for this so I just made one. if it has then you can delete this topic.

I been watching trailers for the new game for the Nidtendo Wii or Reverloation (sorry for bad spelling.), and Super Smash Bros. Brawl looks pretty COOL. I was amazed to see that they got Snake in it. THE Snake from Metal Gear Solid, I got to see how this is going to turn out, I am getting the console soon as it comes out, I plan to reserve myself a copy of it. It is a must have system for me. But Brawl is one of the first games I am going to get hold of.

Does anyone know more about it? part from trailers and pictures found on the offical sight and Smash Bros. Site? I love to know more about this new cool game coming out soon :) I got to complete it like I completed Smash Bros. on the Gamecube. I managed to get all the tropies on the game :D which is pretty cool and played it more then any other game cause it one thing that you hardly get boried of. When you play with friends.

I wonder if Brawl will be the Wi-Fi type, that would be cool if it was, I can play people world wide with it. :lol

I can't wait for Nintendo Wii to come out!  Of course, with it costing near $500, I'm really going to have to dip into my Savings Account, but I estimate to have about $10,000 dollars in there by then. :)

As for the game, SSB: Brawl, it's going to be one of the first games I buy! :^.^: (Along with the Lengend of Zelda game for Wii and Super Mario Galaxy.  Gezz!  I think that's about $700 I plan to spend.)

I read in a magazine that there's going to be about 40 charcters to choose from. :o

I'm not sure who will be in it, but 40 charcters? :wow Nintendo is definately taking gameplay to a whole new level. B)

Of course, just like the other two, my main choice for battle will be the pink wonder, Kirby!

I've known about Super Smash Brothers Brawl since the E3 convention three months ago.  I heard Solid Snake from Konami's Metal Gear Solid is going to be a playable character.  But I still go for Samus Aran.  I heard that the game will use the Gamecube controller, but since the game won't come out until 2007 it might change.  Wario is also a playable character.

My sig explains all.    Yes I'm familiar with Melee and soon to be Brawl.  We actually have a huge topic about it at WTJP here (http://z13.invisionfree.com/Welcome_to_JP/index.php?showtopic=40) started by yours truly. ;)

I'm not sure yet how much time I'll have to experiment with the latest release, even if I'm going to splurg on the system.  Too many unknowns right now, but I'd sure love to try it.  :yes

Soon as Wii is out in the UK I am buying it right away! No questions asked. I am a fan of the Gamecube and got a lot of games for it, my fav of course is Smash Bros. As for other consoles. I got a Xbox360, Mega Drive, N64. and a PC and laptop. Another PC which I half own and my mum owning half of it and the internet. I am kind of the computer. Game Freak in the house lol followed by my sister who plays my Smash Bros. alot with her friend. Lol

Super smash Brawl here we come! if I get Wi-Fi I will play online with it as well. Muhahha and kick everyones butts! :lol

For some reason I'm having visions of Snake coming up behind Mario and slitting his throat, and that Raiden will be an unlockable character.

For a minute there I thought poke was a Jiggs player too.    For some reason I think Kirby is actually easier to KO than Jiggs though they're about the same size and weight.

I'm a master with Fox Mccloud in Melee. I'm looking forward to Brawl, they will have Fox, Falcxo, Krystal(a new Starfox character) and I believe Slippy as well.

So why does everyone play with who they do (in Melee)?

One of my favorites is Jigglypuff and its because it you can do it right, you can just keep hitting your opponent up in the air before they can recover and before they know it, they're off the stage and gone, while Jiggs puffs back on.  :D  It doesn't always work that way naturally, but it is a big advantage.  Plus, who can hate "rest"?    40% KO's.
Title: Super Smash Bros. Brawl
Post by: pokeplayer984 on August 09, 2006, 08:13:35 PM
I at first used Kirby alot because of his "copy" ability.  However, as I improved, I found several reasons to like him.  If you use the "Stone" move effectively, it makes a VERY strong defense. (In fact, I can use this technique for those who dare to use Jig's Rest on me.  You start to do Rest, but I Stone, blocking it completely, I transform back and throw you VERY far.  Hehe!  Evil counter, huh? ;)) Just like Jig, he can puff his way back to the stage, and if needed, he can knock away those edge guarders with his hidden sword.

Not to mention, when you master the "puff technique", he can knock away enemies that are trying to get back on.

He can be the most annoying puffball your opponent ever faced when you use him well. (N00bs get really pissed at how easily I beat them with what they would consider a weakling.)

The only other one I've become incredibly skilled with is Pikachu.  The double quick attack is plain annoying to the opponent on the verge of knocking you off.

A surprise THUNDER from above can really blast someone into the stratisphere quite frequently when used right.  After a while, hot shot n00bs find it VERY annoying.

Ever known anyone else's tail to be an effective weapon?  I kill n00bs who think otherwise.

And who can resist an electric headbutt?  He probably has the most damaging forward airial attack around.

No wonder so many hate this electric rat.  He's annoying when used well. :)

Personally, I'm a master with Adula Link. No one has beaten me while I use him for....ever since I mastered playing him shortly after "Melee" was released, and I play against some makor gamers, as well as the game with the AI on level 9.

Fox is one of the faster players, and I'm pretty good at using his attacks. Personal preference really.

Well, here's a little something I found.  The info isn't fully confirmed yet, but according to a magazine I checked out, there's a high chance that this game will come with the Nintendo Wii as a bundle pack for the amazing price of only $250. :o

How Nintendo can let the bundle sell for that much is unknown, but at a crazy price like that, these things will get sold out fast.  You'd best arrive 2 days early if you want a garentee at getting it when it hits stores. :^.^:

Best you mark your calendar for November.  This thing will sell faster than you may think.

Nintendo Wii is coming out this year around October - noverember time and so is Super Smash Bros. Brawl. Games.uk which is a shop that part of the same people that own EB says it coming out late 2006 and about 6 games with it such as Brawl is part of it. not 2007. I have Asked GAME this and they told me this before coming out to the USA that was 2 months ago and checking on the website it stating 2006 still.

Not hard to find out if you look in the right places such as the offical site of Nintendo and GAME.UK, those show the same information roughly on the realse of the games and console. Nintendo Wii is suppose to come out the same time as the Playstation 3. Try to get a grip on the market by making their price lower then PS3 and easy to buy and on top of it you got Halo 3 coming out on the date of PS3 so you have three top listed items coming out almost at once.

This is going to cause a storm between the three brands.

I heard right from the source at E3 that it won't come out until 2007 at the earliest.

I just ran a check and found that the news had changed from the looks of it only 2 weeks ago, it seems like there is possible chance it comes out with Wii but also a chance it will be Christmas or January 2007. there isn't now a real time frame for the Brawl game. since it could change anytime now. so there is so the time of it let out day is now very much unknown. it could be 2007, christmas this year or even when WIi comes out, we just have to wait and see

Looks like it now, E3 can say it out in 2007 now, but how the information been changed so many times it could be old news and that a new another date been given one that haven't set to the public, all we know this could be false and that they will release it with Wii as a shocker to the public which they think it out in 2007 not when Wii comes out.

So an estimated 50 charcters?  Yikes! :o

If you ask me, Nintendo has gone so high in gaming greatness, they're going to leave the other consoles in the dust.

To think, Nintendo was the first game console to come out, and since then they've stayed #1. :^.^:

How do they do it? ;)

SSB Brawl looks awesome! I didn't think they'd be able to top Melee but it looks like Ninty has shone again! The cast line up looks great including Konami's very own Solid Snake. How niffy is that?! It'l be cool if Snake's dedicated voice artist David Hayter would play his voice. Just to crown it all off. I wonder if there are gonna be any other cameo appearances from other gaming heroes/villians? I supposed there is a fine balance in it because it won't seem like a true blooded Nintendo game if too many cameos start turning up.

One rumour I did hear is that there are supposed to be different versions of Link available. So Links from across the Zelda series history from Ocarina of Time Link, Young Link, Wind Waker Link and the Twilight Princess Link (the one from the preview) are possible options all with their unique abilities. I don't know how true that rumour is but it'll be cool to see that in action. Heard Diddy Kong is supposed to be another character but again that's just rumour so accuracy is sketchy.

Either way, Brawl is gonna rule! It's schuduled for '07 but no quarter has been designated. I know for sure it's not out at the end of this year...it's not a launch title like Smash Bros was for the Gamecube but hey...it's definitely gonna be worth the wait!  ;)

Some people have a fun time creating their own ideal character screens I guess  (none of these are official--they're fan creations)

Some of those characters included would actually be interesting additions me thinks! Megaman for one (but he's Capcom not strictly Nintendo), Sonic (but that's SEGA's mascot), Isaac (I'm assuming that the guy from Golden Sun but again that's not strictly Nintendo).

I think it's cool that they've got Solid Snake in there but if there are too many cameo appearances, I personally think that that may spoil the true essence of Smash Bros a little too much. It's supposed to be as Nintendo put it "A Nintendo All-Stars battle royale". A cameo or two is cool but too many would distort the nature of this wonderful gaming series.

Well Metal Gear came out on Gamecube I guess that why Snake made a appearance in Super Smash Bros. Brawl, I gather why they pick all those charcaters since SEGA has no console now and Sonic on Playstation, Xbox and Gamecube with some of the major SEGA icons. So in a way Sonic jus moving towards the Nintendo all stars locatation.

Only stating what happened from history of SEGA no longer a console provider after the failiar of Dreamcast.

You know, I counted 71 charcters with the second pic.  If that many comes forth for one game, I'm gonna faint! :P:

To me, Kirby is still the best of them all.  More charcters means more powers to use against you. :D

However, if any of these come true, I see quite a number of backups to pick when I play against people who have the rule of "No two players can have the same charcter" floating around. :) (Mega Man, X, Sonic, Dixie, Krystal... the list goes on.)

I am good with Mewtwo and able to stop some strong attacks that would be almost hard to block with some attacks of Mewtwo that changes it specaily from air to ground attacks one of Mewtwo's smash attacks upwards counters that attack with ease and if not just teleport up the attack misses completely.

I heard it hard to use MEwtwo and people that did find him rubbish but I must say, Mewtwo is a challenge to use on the game :D

Nah...that's not strictly true. Sonic will ALWAYS be a Sega character. Just because he now appears on other consoles since Sega no longer make machines of their own does not automatically make him the property of the console makers. The Sonic franchise has evidently continued but the days of the console wars between Nintendo and Sega being the top-dogs has moved on. Granted the Dreamcast was a burnout but that doesn't bring to light the fact that Sonic is now the property of the console providers. He is just simply platform hopping since there is no home ground to tred on anymore. Sega is just like any other software company out there now (Square Enix, Capcom, Konami etc.) and they have their specfic stars and mascots.

Similar with Snake. He's made ONE appearance on Gamecube but that doesn't make him Ninty's character. This just happens to be a cameo appearance that obviously Ninty and Hal Labs approached Konami on (or maybe vice versa).

Not having a moan or anything but that just sounded like a misconception that should  needed rectifying.

Checked out the trailer again and it looks like me and Snake think alike in a little area.  We study our opponents to figure out ways to defeat our opponents.

Quote
Knowing your enemy is the first step to defeating your enemy.

My little brother doesn't realize that I strategize to win.  He thinks I cheat.  Sore loser I say. :P:

Simply, I figure out how my enemy fights and figure out possible counter strategies to beat those.  Just in case, I also figure out possible counter strategies to my own strategy of how to win and how to beat that one against me.

You alternate attacks to avoid me figuring you out, and I've got a nice strategy to beat that. ;)

In other words, me and Kirby are ready for all of ya!  So we say, Bring it on! :^.^:

I found out the other day, browsing through a gamers mag, that apparently, Snake's going to be getting his own unique battle stage! No hints have been given away yet as to what will be included in terms of theme or traps/hazards etc. but apparently, Konami are supposed to be in on the making of it. Perhaps they will give up concept art from the Metal Gear Solid series so Nintendo and Hal Labs can create his battle arena. Sounds pretty cool! I wonder what it'll look like?

You not only have to think about the character being used, but also the person controlling the character--usually a person has a certain style to their play.  A lot of the really good gamers know their opponents.

Ha!  I've got the money to buy the Wii in full cash now.

You see, my sister owed me $250 dollars, which I had loaned her, and she paid me back in cash.  It is currently hidden in a location that shall remain unknown.  Only a theif that is lucky could ever find it.  I made sure to that. ;)

Next up, I have yet to find a place in town to pre-order it, but as soon as I do, I'm pre-ordering it. :)

Now, I just need to know one thing, how much are these Nintendo Wii games going to go for?  I just need to know how much I need to save up to get my hands on Brawl. :^.^:

I imagine there will be a mario Kart Wii. although I'm not sure whether I want 2 riders per cart as in Double Dash or a single rider caart. If there is a simgle rider cart, then expand the number of racers. Another possibility would be a tournament (on the vs. menu) where you race against an opponent over a race course, you win, you advance to a different course and opponent.

After months of rumor, speculation, and message-board debate of apocalyptic proportions, Nintendo has finally announced official Wii launch details.  The console will hit North American shelves on November 19 for an MSRP of $249.99.  Each system will come with a wireless Wii remote and a nunchuk attachment, as well as a copy of Wii Sports, making it the first console to launch with a pack-in title since the Sega Saturn in 1995.  Wii Sports is composed of five activities-tennis, baseball, golf, boxing, and bowling-designed to be simple and intuitive enough for everyone to enjoy, and to serve as a showpiece for the controller's unique functionality.  Nintendo will also release The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess and Excite Truck on launch day (alongside a number of third-party titles), and expects approximately 30 games to be available by December 31.  First-party titles will have an MSRP of $49.99, but other publishers are free to set their own prices (let's hope they follow the Big N's lead).

The other big news is that the system's interface-called the Wii Channel Menu-will offer a series of onscreen channels that enable a surprising variety of functions.  The Disc Channel is where you'll go to play Wii Titles or backwards-compatible GCN games.  With the Mii Channel (pronounced Me), users can create playable caricatures of themselves to use in certain games (though it's not yet known which games).  The Photo Channel provides a way to upload digital photos from an SD memory card and proform various editing functions or even add music and create a slide show.  When connected to the Internet via broadband, you'll also be able to access the Forecast Channel, which provides local weather updates; the News Channel, which lets users access up-to-the-minute news from around the world; and the Internet Channel, which allows you to browse the world wide interwebs if you download the optional Opera browser.  There's also a calendar-based Message Board that you can use to leave messages for family and friends, or send text and photos to e-mail accounts or cell phones.  Finally, the Wii Shop Channel is where you'll download classic games from the NES, SNES, N64, Sega Genesis, and TurboGrafx-16 for the Virtual Console.  Nintendo has yet to announce the Virtual Console's launch lineup and pricing details, but that infromation should be revealed in the coming weeks.  Needless to say, we'll have much, much more on the Wii launch in next month's issue.  For now, mark your calendars and start saving those pennies; it's going to be an exciting November.-Steve T.

Look at that, I even took the time to give this quote the fancy looking title it had in the magazine and everything. :)

While it doesn't fully relate to the subject of Super Smash Brothers Brawl, Pokeplayer, this is indeed great news. With all of these cool features the game looks promising and a lot of fans will be excited to finally play LOZ:TP. I can already picture the crowed stores on Nov 18th. My birthday is on the 23th, but I don't have an intention to get the Wii...yet. XD But thanks for sharing that with us.  ;)

There's a new Brawl trailer out.  :D

My comments:

Is Wario supposed to imitate some lazy person with that itchy butt?   That was just too funny and sick at the same time.

Trailer shows that we've gained a canine friend, but I'm wondering on the status of another canine friend that resembles jackal-like Anubis.  Is he joining the party too?

Side note--they really picked on poor Kirby and Pikachu...I don't think either did any sort of attack but yet got beat up somehow. Sure hope they aren't fluff characters.

Well KK23, (mind if I call ya that, KindomKey23?) what this info does reveal is that Brawl won't be around on Launch Day, which some of us did believe.  However, it just might be one of the games that will come out before the end of the year.  Hopefully that will be the case and we can all enjoy a nice battle against one another around good old Christmas. :^.^:

Good, I wouldn't mind going head to head with some GOF members. If I get Wii that is. XD

I'd be down for that! By the look of some of the player videos of some of you guys, you all look like worthy challengers!  ;) Dunno exactly when I might be going for a Wii (sorry...just had to say it like that  :P:  :lol ) but I will get one eventually coz I mean for the price it's at over here in the UK (around £130), it's dirt cheap compared to the extortionate price the PS3 will be when that first comes out.  <_<

Look forward to Brawlin' with y'all!  :DD

I'm game too!  I'll let you know when/if I get a Wii.  I certainly plan on it, providing it comes up with a few good multiplayer games.  I want to see it for myself before I decide for sure but I'll most likely be up for picking up a Wii and, of course, Smash Bros Brawl! B)

I'm looking at a few things about the Wii, and I'm guessing that Super Smash Bros. Brawl will require both the Wiimote and the Nunchuck attachment to be played properally.

I took a recent look at a 3D rotational view of the Nunchuck somewhere on YouTube, and I spotted the B button on it.  It is conviently located right in front of the control stick. :P: Gee, what a nice place to put the special attack button, huh?
