I've been trying to get my new domain name (thelandbeforetime.org) ranked good in Google like my old site (landbeforetime.co.nr) was, but I haven't been able to.  I'm pretty sure it's because my domain name shows up as nothing but a frameset to search engines.  I could turn off cloaking, but then people would see my website based on my IP address, which changes.  The only thing I can think of is to change webhosts.  Luckily, Godaddy.com (the company that hosts my domain name (thelandbeforetime.org)) offers FREE hosting with domain names!  It is limited.  Only 10gb of webspace and 300gb/month transfers, but that's just enough for the Land Before Time Funsite.

I believe the website is somewhere near 6gb or so and it uses about 40gb per month of bandwidth.  My old website used frames too, and I believe that's why I couldn't get it ranked any higher than it was (though it was ranked pretty high).  It's still the second result (NOT page!) on Google when you type in "the land before time tv episodes".  Of course, I want to take thelandbeforetime.org higher than this.  That's why I PAID for a domain name. :p With FREE hosting, I'll no longer be using URL redirection with masking anymore.  Instead, I'll have my own domain that points directly to my website, meaning I can customize my own META tags and keywords with NO LIMIT to their length.

So what does this mean?  Well, thelandbeforetime.org might have to go down for a time.  The server won't be down (at least I hope it won't), but the website will be just because I'll be screwing around with my domain name.  I'll probably just upload a very basic website to it (not LBT related) just to check it out for awhile.  Of course, I really don't like having to give up my ability to host it.  I just don't see any alternative at the time. :(

Ever thought of using a website that's designed for webhosting and more?  You'd be surprised at both the results and the deals.  In some cases, all you have to pay for is a small monthly fee for membership and then you get so much for far less than imagined.  Also, it would end up lasting a lot longer than what GoDaddy would give you.

Look, I know a .com can be costly.  However, imagine getting that free of charge.  Along with Unlimited Space, Unlimited Bandwidth and a number of other features.

It's how I run my sites.  It's a lot cheaper than you would expect.

Here's a site that features an in-depth list to help you get started.

Trust me, the deals are amazing.  Also, a number of these have powerful website transferring features that get it all done in a few days FOR you. (Mostly likely within 48 hours.)

Also, if you're worried about having something like www.yoursite.com/webhost, don't worry, they leave out the webhost part. :)

Plus, if you'd like a better deal, try these coupon codes on for size.

You wouldn't believe how low of a price I got with these two sites helping me when I started.  It was a great deal. :D

Trust me, you'll love having something do it all FOR you. :^.^:

Sorry but all those ripoff sites claiming to get you a better ranking are just BS.  They charge you out the a$$ and all they do is submit your site to search engines and crap.  I know how to get on the first page of Google for almost ANY search term, and I did it before without even having a real website URL!  The only thing it takes is time, and if you do it right instead of using tricks that'll just get you on the first page for a week or so, your ranking will be permanent and gradually go up even without you doing a thing!

I already have a .org.  I would've gotten a .com if it was available.  Besides, I trust a larger company like Godaddy way more than some obscure site based in the Ukraine. Besides, if I wanted to pay a good amount and get UNLIMITED everything, I'd go with Byethost22.  They're really reputable and have almost half a million members:

$4.95 a month isn't too bad for costs either.

That is NOT a good thing!  That's URL masking and that'll get you nowhere with search engines.  For example, when someone clicks on "tv epiosdes" on my website, I WANT it to read http://www.thelandbeforetime.org/tvepisodes because Google will index that page and relate it to my home page.  URL masking is horrible because it limits your pages to 1 even if you have 1,000 of them, which drastically reduces your Google rankings.
