Where is this scene from? I really, REALLY can't remember.
I think it's LBT 12.
I don't remember Petrie grinning at them. he looked guilty and nothing more, no?
P.S.
Ok now I get it lol, he did it for a fraction of a second, barely noticable, idk why would artists draw such facial expression haha

he's someone I always wanted to meet... He is so cute, it would be incredibly exciting for me. I would calm him down at first, saying it's ok, and give him a warm hug, suggesting to live with me. Of course I'd need to hide him from others, but it'll worth it!

Cutest? LBT II  :smile
Most character? LBT V :DD

In my opinion
in my opinion Chomper had the best character in the TV series. In LBT 5 however he was cuter and younger

Voted for the movie 2. Definitely looks more like a T-rex than in other movie and the series, also looks a lot cuter

General Land Before Time / Which kind of animation do you prefer?

I'm getting INCREDIBLY sick of the decline in cartoon animation. I miss the days when the animation world was made up of really talented people, and no computers were necessary. They think it's cheaper and faster to produce movies the way they do (and maybe it is) but I really think that movies like Despicable Me and How To Train Your Dragon should NOT be considered cartoons like they are!  :anger
Although I agree that those movies would be much better in traditioal animation(and I personally hate 3D animation in general), this topic isn't about that. Later LBT sequels, drawn on computers, but using the traditional style of 2D animation are just incredble because of that. Mountains, highlights and shadings, highly detailed characters, and all that with 2D animation instead of 3D they would probably go with.
LBT sequels(7-11) is my favorite example of 2D animation of all time!

General Land Before Time / Favorite Unfavorite Character

I wouldn't go as far to say that they are unliked (or "unfavourite" I think the term was). I suppose, because they all had a relatively short shelf life within each of the movies, there wasn't much to link to so most fan just didn't pay them much attention (not including any reappearances in the TV series mind).
I don't think that's the case, cause he also appeared just in one movie and 1 TV episode(same goes for Mo) and yet he's still quite a popular and likable character.  I think that most of these characters lack certain charm or a bright personality

General Land Before Time / Most Epic Sequel
« on: February 19, 2014, 11:45:35 AM »
for me it's LBT 7. The story of what happened to the adult group of dinisaurs, science fiction(which I'm a huge fan of) and the true adventure feel, which only a great movie may have.
But if it wasn't for LBT 7 I'd say 10(huge, really epic scale and significant events) LBT 5 and 8 would follow them, also LBT 3 is pretty good at that too, but it was too slow-paced for me

How come nobody else voted for Elsie(the swimming lady from LBT 5) She is one of the niciest LBT characters ever!
But if it wasn't for her I'd vote for Mr Thicknose too, I like him a lot

General Land Before Time / saddest crying scene in the sequels?
« on: January 31, 2014, 04:30:22 AM »
I don't know if the songs can be included here but...

"I remember now, like it weas yesterday
She would hold me close, and then I hear her say
You know I'll never leave you, you can fine me everywhere
In a morning light, the evening star...
I'm always there..."

That always makes me cry, it holds connection with the saddest scene in the franschise and it's so well performed!
I still don't understand people who hate LBT songs

But as for crying scenes(not just sad scenes) I'd say from movie 4, when Littlefoot's grandfather was dying

I'm a HUGE fan of animation in movies 7-11 and I wouldn't want exchange it for anything else. I don't think it was the right decision to put the original movie in the list along with first 5 sequels. the first sequels simply don't have that level of quality the original had, nor they have the outstanding quality of the later sequels.
if I made this topic I'd make a lot more choices:
1. The orginal movie
2. movies 2-6
3 Movies 7-11
4 movies 12-13
5 the TV-series(I doubt anyone would vote for that though)
so I voted for the newer animation, I simply love it. it brought the new life to LBT, sure the characters aren't as cute anymore, but they can't be cute forever(it's not The Simpsons where kids don't grow up at all), and they gotta grow up, at least a little, bit by bit. I think it's great that they became more self-confident, more mature looking and acting, more capable of making their own desicions, and at the same time this animation is also bright and increadibly beautiful, so the world also looks great itself

Here's one from LBT 8:

Everything's alright here... but now look what happens only a blink of an eye later...

Where's Tippy's Mom?

EDIT: Same applies to that Parasaurolophus in the background...

Actually, if you look closely, they are not gone, they are just moved to the left. I guess it's only because of the different camera angles that they seem to be gone
Oh and Tippy's mom's color is changed(but she still has that facial expression), which often happenes in this movie

Though this isn't exactly the most proper thread to discuss this, I do agree. LBT 11 isn't great but neither is it bad. LBT 12 ranks among my most liked sequels and even LBT 13 has some great moments (though it's undoubtly the worst sequel but still way better than some eps of the series )

Anyway, back on topic, what do you think about those two mistakes I spotted?

I agree, LBT 13 wasn't THAT bad either, and I actually prefer it over the TV-series, I loved the songs in it.
As for the screw-up you noticed about Petrie-yeah  :lol this isn'tthe first time I notice a mistake like this

A little off topic, but why is everyone so hard on 11 and 12? I admit they're not as good as the earliest sequels, but I don't see them as really being that much worse than the post-Mysterious Island sequels. I personally don't like them as much as 6-9 because I didn't grow up with them, but without my memories, they're not THAT crappy. Yeah, the idea of tiny longnecks was stupid, but the way some people describe 11 and 12, you'd think they're Wisdom of Friends-esque material.

I don't get all this hate either, and in my opinion, LBT 12 was great, and not just because I'm a huge Petrie fan and think that he deserves his own movie, but because of the excellent music, directing, beautiful and heart-warming script. Sure it didn't have any major epic events like many of the sequels did, but I still think it's an awesome movie, and LBT 13 is nowhere near it

Character Discussion / Top 10 LBT villians

I know it's been years since I've posted anything here but...
Those who determine sharpteeth as villains(not just antagonists, but call them villains) - I hate you...
Seriously guys, what's wrong with you? Don't you know how nature works? Then that makes domestic cats villains too, cause they eat mice(and those mice could also be characters we could like), would that automaticly make a cat a villain? NO! it only does what it does because it's insticts tell it to, not because of some hidden vicious intentions. I know Sharpteeth from LBT movies are easier to equalize to villains because they seem so scary and attack the main characters. But being truly evil-heck no! that's not what they are about. They are supposed to be antagonists for the movies plots, not evil, cunning and vicious bad guys.

Why do I care about this so much? I'm a big fan of reptiles, you see(the biggest reason why I love LBT so much) but one of the main reasons why they are almost always shown evil in fiction is because real reptiles(most of them) are predators. This automaticly classfies them as bad guys in the writers of fiction minds, and they think it's a good idea to make reptiles bad guys(ESPECIALLY snakes, my favorite animals, who are really peaceful in real life, but suffer stupid and completely unfair stereotypes being marked by humans). That said, I will NEVER change my opinion as I'm completely sure that a real and only villain on Earth is HUMAN. And they weren't around at the times of dinosaurs, as far as I know.

As for Strut - I still wouldn't classify him as much of a villain. His whole life he was pushed around by the only family he had-his evil brother. Sure, he wanted to push the kids from the wall, but I'm pretty sure he just wanted to pay them back for all those terrible scratches, NOT kill them. He was a really nice-hearted and looked innocent, sure he wasn't completely innocent(I wouldn't include him in my list otherwise) but he sure never seemed too bad to me, and DEFINITELY not worse than Rinkus and Sierra. I mean come on, he would probably be one of the niciest LBT guys if he never lived with his brother. All he would do is eat plants and wouldn't bother anyone

As for Topsy, I kinda agree with you there that he couldn't be classified as a villain, but he sure is one of the meaniest LBT characters. the fact that he is misguied(his racism and his opinion about other specoes of dinosaurs) doesn't make him innocent. He, unlike Cera, had a whole life to study other dinosaurs and if not equalize himself to them at least not hate them so much and avoid them like they are retarded and can only be a bad influence on his daughter. Again, he's not a villain but he is much of a bad guy sometimes.

P.S. I'm modifying my original post and removing Cera from my list

Love isn't always romantic, however. And kissing does not always mean "I want to be your mate/partner". For the kiss in Ducky's case, I think she was just being overly friendly. I never saw the kiss as a sign of romantic love. Petrie saving Ducky is also not proof of romantic love in my opinion. He just cared very much for her and wanted to save her. This just means, to me, that they have developed a strong friendship (keep in mind they were likely together for a long time while looking for the Great Valley, it wasn't exactly just down the street or anything); it does not mean they are romantically in love. Also I should point out their age. They're too young to be looking for a mate/partner to be with. While love may be a part of their life this early on (such as Ducky with her mother) romantic love may not be a part of their life yet, but will be starting most likely when they are adolescents.

Sorry, that's just how I see it.
I think romantic love in that age exists, after all I had crush on my teacher when I was 8
