1988 Theatrical Release / Remaking the deleted scenes as sketch?

Anybody know if Jesstripodmitch is still working on this? She did a good job on the Ducky scene  :wow

1988 Theatrical Release / Sharptooth's Original Design
« on: December 15, 2016, 11:32:41 PM »
I was looking at the deleted story boards and noticed how much scarier Sharptooth was before. I remember reading that one of the other things  they did besides delete scenes was fixing Sharptooth so it wasn't too scary for kids.

In the story boards he even has bigger teeth, claws, and feet.  I wonder if they even got a chance to animate the original.
Do you guys think the change was good idea?

Pizza Hut gave out puppets and had a commercial in 1988.  This vhs was sold as some Mc Donald's promo. Sticker says 4 movies were sold, Back to the Future, Land Before Time, American Tale, and Field of Dreams.

1988 Theatrical Release / LBT on DVD

I doubt it was a troll who started it, Littlefoot3897, and I don't think you have to be so harsh towards members here. I too remember Sharptooth getting hit with a thorn in the eye, then again that scene is pretty much all the way there on the DVD so my own imagination may have added to that. I don't believe there will be any extras on the bluray.
sorry I was just ticked off about seeing the blu ray release with nothing about deleted scenes .
I later saw the deleted story boards that got found and it made me happy to come back :)
also the thorn in eye did happen in the movie  :lol

but lets hope that there's a reason these story boards are just coming out and maybe there could be some extras on the dvd including the trailer for the 14th move

1988 Theatrical Release / Outcut land before time scenes
« on: September 19, 2015, 03:11:09 AM »
I realized how well edited out the sharptooth attack was .

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FiFF7I9CHa8

if you notice the scenes that did stay in the movie got flipped so you cant tell Cera and Littlefoot were going back and forth.

now I just hope we can get the part 2 so we can figure out this part

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UOYYwGytRJs

I think the part after the thorn bush had lots of edits cause you can see a lot is missing once Littlefoot mom comes in.

so my guess the biggest edit in the whole movie was the sharptooth and earthquake (not counting the finding the great valley moved to the end)

EDIT: forget everything I said  :p  I realized the clip i watch of the sharptooth scene on youtube was flipped and the correct one fits the storyboard

1988 Theatrical Release / LBT on DVD
« on: September 18, 2015, 06:58:08 AM »
I havent been on here in few years but seriously? We are still talking about the whole "I remember seeing different scenes years ago that wasnt on the dvd but was on TV" thing? If nobody has found anything about it as proof to this day, it probably was a troll that started it and we all been imagining scenes that we never saw to begin with.  I don't think nobody seen the cut scenes besides the old cast . I just want to know if anything has come up about those lost scenes seeing the Blu ray release is coming out.

1988 Theatrical Release / Outcut land before time scenes

thought it was interesting
someone mentioned in other post how it looks like the tar scene had some scenes skipped

I found this in other post and probabaly think this was in the movie o_O

The picture presented in "The land before time - The illustrated story" is a different one. This is what it says (no translation but English original this time):
Quote
"I knew it was you all along!" she said.
Littefoot grinned at her.
"You did?" said Ducky. "But you were screaming so loud."
"I was only acting," Cera shot back. "I wanted those scaly-skins to come come into the cave so I could attack them!"
"Nope, nope, nope," Ducky said shaking her head.
"Oh get out of my way!" Cera yelled. But as she tried to stalk out of the cave, she stuck to the tar monster.
"We really together now!" said Ducky, giggling.
"Yeah, Cera," said Littlefoot. "Now we have to stick together."
And the whole group loughed.
That made Cera madder than ever. Pulling herself free, she cried out, "Oh, shut up. I hate all of you! I don't ever want to see any of you again, ever!"
With that, she stomped out of the cave into the darkness. As she marched away her eyes filled with tears. She really didn't mean what she had said. It was just that her pride had been hurt. She looked around, half expecting them to come after her. But they didn't, and her heart sank a little.
A heavy rain started to fall, washing the tar off Littlefoot and the others. "Let her go," he said. "If she doesn't want to come back, there's nothing we can do." The others sadly had to agree.

1988 Theatrical Release / Was it true about Original Ending?

Don Bluth also thought this rumor was nuts and was never intending that
Quote

I was sure I'd read that somewhere too, but I wasn't able to confirm this when I tried to search for it online.

However, I do remember reading a bunch of threads on the IMDB message boards for the LBT movies, and one user was (or claimed to have been) a former animator at Sullivan Bluth Studios, and talked a fair deal about events during the production of one or two of their movies (in one thread he talked about the discovery of Judith Barsi's murder). He said in one thread that the "original ending" rumor wasn't true, and noted if it had ever existed, he'd never heard Don Bluth mention it (or something like that).

Could be worth looking for again...although this was a LONG time ago that I read this; around the time I joined the GOF? Prob >2006?

...Methinks I might have posted this before?
dont remember where it was either I read it

maybe someone asked Don Bluth on his forums or something

its funny because its hard to get any info about land before time from him since it looks like he feels the movie wasnt his best because of all those edits and squeals later

Heya! Yeah it does sound really interesting, I'm excited! :D. Be nice to finish the puzzle.

it's pretty easy enough to get in there I think, it's part of the British Film Industry library system and archives. Only reason I have to make an appointment is because sometimes the scripts have to be pulled from storage, and/or there might be a waiting list to view them. There's more info on the BFI special collection here.

Only thing I'm not sure of is if you're allowed to take photos/video of their exhibits. I shouldn't see why not, I'm assuming it's all digital. Plus I've not seen anything that says I can't yet :).
let us know what happens please :)

decided to put this here too

was watching this and there was a missing scene here too

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xunZBN3YXZU

notice when the gang all hug and sleep together and how they are positioned

next scene they somehow moved and made a heart
"Cera ends up in the middle between spike and littlefoot"

scene missing : cera moving herself to the middle
my thought: she probably blush or something and didnt want to be hugged by littlefoot

 ITS AT 2:37-2:42  dino_tongue.gif
