Disney hounds on their copyrights, so you always have to watch what you do with their videos.  Sending through email is pretty inefficient...you'd be better off uploading to yousendit or something and then give all interested parties one link.

Uploading sites will remove your vids really quick if they contain anything that might put them in danger.  Hell, I got banned from filefront just for uploading a music vid. Not that they could keep me off their site just by banning me though. :p

Guys, I've taken a closer look at the notification, and I think something may be amiss.  It says that "NBC Universal" was the one that notified them.  Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't recall NBC and Universal being joined companies.  Wouldn't this make the notification a forgary and both me and the mods of YouTube were tricked all along?

I don't recall that either, and i'm a big fan of universal. If it was false, then you're videos had to be removed for no reason. Besides, didn't you put in the video descriptions of every video that it was copyright to universal? It seems youtube has people remove their videos every chance they get now a days, whether you say it's copyright to the creating company or not.

YOu can try emailing NBC or Universal to ask them.  I'm not sure where to look to see if there is information on if NBC and Unviersal own each other or both are owned by someone, or if they have merged like some companies do.

NBC and Universal are under the same umbrella in that they are both owned by General Electric.

I found this site: http://www.nbcuni.com/

The logo is NBC Universal.
Dang!  Thought I had something here and I would be able to use it to get my vids back.  Guess not. -_-

I was going to Upload a music vid with my art, but now, I'm a lil conserned about if they would be "Copyright Infridgment".

its always best to put...

"(Name Of charactors or show here) is copyrighted by (name of Company here)

Vid owned by (your name here)"

alot of people do that and it keeps the Copyrighted monkey off they're backs.

I am disappointed of how Youtube is deleting vids because of Copyright. if I'm not correct, isn't the meaning "FanVideo" supposed to mean that the vid was made because of how much the uploader likes the franchise and in turn, actualy Promoting the franchise?

I think it would be a little safer for when you make videos showing tv episodes or music videos even, to put something like this: "(Name of movie/episode) is copyright to (Owner of Movie/episode) and i do not it's characters, songs, or anything invovled with it. in the beginning of your video or something that will make sure everyone who watches the video will see it. And maybe they're deleting the fan videos because you're not sending a big enough message of the copyright owners, OR they're removing them because they have scenes or such from movies, episodes, etc.

Putting down credits (telling who really owns the property) and such, from what I understand, is not enough. It's still considered copyright infringement. Apparently, from what I read, the only way for it to be legal is if you ask the copyright holders' permission (and perhaps pay them).

If that's the case, then i bet over 100 videos are removed a day because of copyright infringement

Different copyright holders have different policies. I was once informed by YouTube that my Pterano video (Going Down in Flames) contained copyright material. To my surprise, however, they did not say I had to remove it. 3 Doors Down, the copyright holders of Going Down in Flames, actually allow the video to stay up. Their policy was "Allow" "Everywhere". So I didn't have to remove the video.

I've never gotten any notices with any of my stuff, and I'm sure there's "infringement" somewhere in there.  Guess I'm too small a fish to go after.

As someone mentioned some are nastier then others about going after stuff.  Some even go after fan sites I heard.

My brother told me about how, in the mid 90s, 20th Century Fox went bezerk and forced many fansites to close down, even though many of these consisted of just screenshots, character information, and episode guides.
