The Fridge / Is it possible that I have asperger's?
« on: February 05, 2010, 05:58:11 AM »
I keep asking myself this. I seem to have the same experiences as other people who had Asperger's, like not being able to socialize with ease, getting nervous when talking to people of higher ranks (or when facing a certain test/exam), difficulty of making direct eye contact when talking with another person, having VERY strong interests in something (in my case, computers :p), etc. I don't even fit in with my friends at school - it's like I'm the only one in school who's different.

Then I took an AQ test that I found on the web, and I scored a 31. Does this mean anything?

(and no, I don't wanna spend too much cash just to go to the doctor's and have my brain diagnosed :p)

Gamers Zone / What's your personal favorite "Game Over" screen?
« on: January 25, 2010, 11:06:38 AM »
Remember the "GAME OVER" screens? Those dreaded screens that show up every time you lose in a certain video game or in arcades? Don't you just love seeing those annoying-yet-catchy screens? :p

My personal favorites are the ones from Daytona USA and Sega Rally Championship, But I like the Sega Rally one better than Daytona's - seriously, it makes me wanna lose on purpose everytime I play it just to hear the tune:

"Game over, YEAAAAAAAAAHHHHHH!!!" :lol

Daytona USA had a very catchy Game Over screen too, and after all these years, I can STILL hear it in my head, and I haven't been playing the game for quite a long time either!

So what are YOUR personal favorite "Game Over" screens? :)

Silver Screen / The Spy Next Door
« on: January 17, 2010, 01:20:27 PM »
Has anyone else watched it? If yes, what do you think of it? Personally, I've been a fan of Jackie Chan and his comedic skits in his films for quite some time now, but unfortunately after watching this movie, I was a bit disappointed. It had a somewhat cheesy plot - not to mention cheesy VILLAINS. Yeah that's right - villains! They have henchmen, a lair, the main villain's sidekick and everything else that makes up a villain. What's more, they're Russian! Seriously, those guys remind me of the Russian characters from Red Alert 3, LOL. :lol

Don't get me wrong though, it was a pretty entertaining movie (I had a few good laughs :p), just that I wasn't very impressed with the plot.

If I have to rate this movie, I would rate it 3/5. What about you guys? :)

The Fridge / YouTube videos in Full HD 1080p
« on: November 27, 2009, 08:54:05 AM »
http://youtube-global.blogspot.com/2009/11...to-youtube.html

I don't like it. I have a few reasons for that:

1) It lags... A LOT. At least on my computer.
2) It's really unnecessary IMO. The main point of going to YouTube is to watch videos without worrying about your internet bandwidth. 1080p is just too huge of a filesize, thus, it loads really slow...
3) My monitor's native resolution is nowhere near 1080p (1920x1080). :o
4) YouTube practically compresses your videos no matter what video format you upload in. So if you were to upload an HD video with a really high bitrate, the uploaded quality might not always look as good as the original. The compression might also be even worse in Full HD.
5) Uploading a Full HD video takes A REALLY LONG TIME, especially if they're lengthy.

Here's a preview of a 1080p video on YouTube:

The Fridge / My deepest apologies to all of you...
« on: November 12, 2009, 02:33:53 AM »
I just wanna apologize to everyone here in GOF who may have been offended by my post/behaviour yesterday (I'm not sure how many of you had seen my post). I know that racism isn't right, and that everyone here despises it (even me), but I guess I let my bad side get the better of me. I felt really horrible about what I've done, and I couldn't stop thinking about it for even a second, as if I had offended my own family (which I would never do, of course). Thinking back to my behaviour towards Paradise Bird back at the JD Fan Forum made me feel even worse, and I fully regretted it.

So to all of you members here, to Paradise Bird, and especially to the admins, please accept my deepest and humblest apologies. I really don't want to break the peacefulness of this community just because of me. I hope that you all are willing to give me a second chance, as I've also made a commitment to myself.

And Paradise Bird (or DarthChomper, if I may :)), I hope that you're also willing to forgive me, and I hope that maybe we can be friends. :)

Oh and one last thing. Please don't think of this post as an attempt to bring up again of a past incident. I really need to get this out of my system, and I wouldn't be able to stop thinking about my actions if I didn't. So again, my deepest apologies to the entire GOF community.

Computer and Electronics / PC overclocking
« on: October 17, 2009, 09:54:38 PM »
Personally, I find overclocking very useful when I need a little extra performance boost in my games, while at the same time dangerous if overdone. I overclocked my processor from 2.66 to 3.00 GHz (small OC, I know; but any more, and my PC will often hang), and I overclocked my (*cough* integrated <_<) graphics with ATItool from a default core clock of 300.00 GHz to 375.18 GHz; further overclocking causes graphical glitches in my games (usually a sign that my graphics card is at an unstable state ). ATItool showed an increase of 10-15fps during artifact scanning, and I'm already proud of it. :lol

So anyways, your thoughts on overclocking. DISCUSSION BEGIN. ;)

Hey everyone. I'm Excalibur - short for 2007excalibur2007, long for "Exca" or just "Ex". I'm not very good at writing long and fancy greetings, but I do hope that I could get along with all of you here. I'm a really (and I mean a REALLY) huge fan of LBT, so... yeah. :p

Again, hi. Can't wait to start posting around here. That is, if I can figure out just what to post, lol.
