it won't be that big, although some of the ships they will encounter in the story will be huge.. they will go on the ship freely as the crew on board has not been paid in a long time and will offer to scport them around the galaxy on a sort of sight-seeing tour...

So do you have an idea for what the ship Chong on is doing? Is it a science vessel or perhaps a cruise ship? Either option provides an explanation for it stopping at suitable planets.

the ship he is on is a resteraunt ship. hit stops at planets to picjk up up guests and new staff..

Correct. the one chong will take over will be run by Nick and aves and the plot will involve spaceship battles, warp jumps to weird places, and an assortment of weird and classic characters. and yes chong will have several bounties on his head so theres that subplot of various characters trying to catch and /or kill him for the money..

they will be trying to stay alive the whole story, as Chong forces them to do anything he asks, or he kills them..

What about the rest of the characters? Is their ship a cruise ship, science vessel, military vessel or "colony ship"?

And I assume Nick loses his weapon?

its a starship, it has military capabilities and also has personal apartmentsb for the residents.. things will be more explained once the story starts, as for Nick, yes he will lose his weapons after Chong takes over the ship..

On that note, can I name the starship that the rest of the group is on? I plan to call it Spire of Winter with "Ice" as the AI system.

I thought that the Phoenix is the ship that Nick and Aves are on.

Another possibility is keeping the name of the ship Stripetail and the oythers will be on the Phoenix and naming the ship Aves , nick and chong will be on Spire of winter. thats a possibility, but i think renaming the ship will be the more popular option..
