Right now, am in HATE with Harlem Shake! I just want to destroy that song and annihilate it from existence. :bang I hate it so much, it's not even real music. Bauuer should apologize to America, or be locked up for making it. :lol Also, if anyone has heard Revolution 9 by the Beatles (which isn't AS bad, but it is extremely creepy), that's one of the worst recordings in history, which is outrageous when you think about the fact that it was conjured up by John Lennon, the man who wrote such musical masterpieces as Strawberry Fields Forever and co-wrote A Day In The Life.
I'm sure many people will say Friday by Rebecca Black, though I personally don't think it's that bad. I mean sure, the lyrics are dumb, 13 year olds shouldn't be driving, and she should really not forget about her friend on the left :lol (that was a joke) but I still feel bad for her because she was bullied out of school. :(

Harlem Shake and Gangnam Style. Worst thing ever made in my view.
-
I actually like Gangnam Style. It at least has a melody, and finding out how to pronounce the words and find out what they mean is all part of the fun for me. :p Harlem Shake has NO melody, so it has no place in the Billboard Hot 100.
-
True but I didn't like it because even the song in English is meanness to me. What I don't get is why there are so many videos of the Harlem Shake. I mean give it a break and come up with something new for once.
-
"I whip My Hair Back and Fourth" actually causes me physical discomfort listening to it.
As for Revolution 9, I truely think it COULD have worked. If it had just been made a tad more melodic, it would have been facinating. But even then, the number one thing that kills it is it's length. Almost nine minutes is way, way, way too long for constant dissonance. If it had been, say, four or three minutes and had a melody to allow the ear a moment to rest here and there, it would have been a much better piece.

^ I had that song stuck in my head the other day.... whut song? It's so repetitive! Same thing could be said of Ke$ha and Rihanna. Diamonds? We Found Love? Come on!!
Funny, I was actually doing HW the other day when someone's phone started playing Harlem Shake.
Truth be told, I think the song is kinda funny - okay it's strange and totally ridiculous, but I suppose that adds to the funny factor - the visuals are another story. Strange, just so totally out of whack. I did see the Backstreet Boys in a Harlem Shake vid. Laughed my head off^^
I like Friday too. I've gotten a lot of crap about liking it (then again, I like techno, and Enya, and obscure bands like Rooney, Phantom Planet, Guster, Franz Ferdinand, Belle and Sebastian, etc.). I don't really care though. I like it. It's got a nice beat to it, and it has a nice all around "feel good theme".
Muse is better though ;) Feelin' Good (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=leuMcRs983I)

I agree to you, OllyDirectioner, that Harlem Shake is annoying, while Gangnam style is just great(I remember dancing in the disco to Gangnam style... no words...just awesome!)
I wouldn't say anything against Harlem Shake to be played at partys and discos(since it's a song FOR making party and dancing), but it's played the whole time on radio :x

Anything dubstep really. I just can't classify it as music. (sorry, fans :p !)
-
Yeah, I'm not too fond of dubstep either. I DO like the recent ERB between Mozart and Skrillex, though.
-
Andresito "El niÒo mas bonito" ( andresito most beautiful child) The lyrics are awful.
-
"B***hes" by Hollywood Undead. Don't even get me started on it.
-
Entrepreneur by TOM OC.
The horribleness of this has to be seen (and unfortunately heard) in order to be believed.

For me, the worst song I heard is this:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9SovOnRQ2Os (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9SovOnRQ2Os)
Insanity. I was interested in listening to it at first, but I was immediately turned off as soon as I heard the first few seconds. The song is way too high pitched for my taste. I don't like listening to songs that sound like Alvin and the Chipmunks are singing it.
-
I'm really not a fan of that Ellie Goulding/Calvin Harris song "I Need Your Love", or that song by Drake "Just Hold On, We're Going Home" :anger
-
Remember all the things that you and I did first?
And now you're doing them with her?
-
I have to say the worst song I have heard in awhile is that new Christina Aguilera song "Say Something". It's extremely depressing, and considering what the public has seen of her personal life (blindsiding her husband with divorce papers, dating before legally divorced, and now pregnant out of wedlock), I cannot take her seriously enough as an artist to find any good reason she lended her vocals to this song. It just makes the song that more annoying.
-
christina actually is a very talented singer, she has a very powerful singing voice. at the same time, not every song she sings is a classic.
-
Also, if anyone has heard Revolution 9 by the Beatles
Thanks to you, I found my new favorite song! Amazing arrangement and a perfect example of Experimental music. I love it!
The worst song I have ever heard is "I Be So Fresh (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a9jSwxyYHts)" by Soulja Boy. Annoying voice, mediocre beat and awful lyrics.

I have two songs that I believe in my opinion are crap! Whatever happened to the golden age of the 60's, 70's and 80's; I love music from those eras; and among a few others.
1. Uptown Funk- Mark Ronson ft. Bruno Mars- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OPf0YbXqDm0 (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OPf0YbXqDm0)
2. Pharrell Williams - Happy- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y6Sxv-sUYtM (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y6Sxv-sUYtM)
The links have been placed in here so you can listen to those songs for yourselves; what do you think of them?
-
^I don't think those two songs are bad at all...just overplayed, particularly the latter one. ;) I myself, however, prefer music from those eras you mentioned, and then others.
-
These are good songs in my opinion, especially Uptown Funk :smile Then again, the music you usually like to listen to is something I have absolutely no ear for, so to speak :p Music tastes are just different sometimes I guess :)

I heard "Girl Crush" playing on the country station the other night and I'm suddenly reminded of why I hate break-up songs. Everybody kept telling me how great this song was and all, but really, its just some girl whining about how she's jealous of another girl for stealing her boyfriend.
-
This is by far the worst song on planet Earth and possibly the Universe. :x I can't even began to the describe how bad this song is. You have to listen to it to understand that.

Even Benzino is a better rapper then these clowns and he got destroyed by Eminem in the early 2000s. Songs like this are why I stopped listening to the radio, seven years ago.
Songs like this are a disgrace to hip-hop in general. I'm so happy I shunned the mainstream era music in general, cause it talent-less, stale, boring, lackluster, low, and sexist to the max.

The guitar solo is the best part of this song definitely! :DD

It's actually rare for me to hear a song I outright dislike. Rare, but not impossible...

I don't know if that's the worst song I've ever heard, necessarily, but it's the first thing that sprang to mind when I saw this thread.

Here's an infamous music video from Jacab Satorious.

Dubsteb, Gabgnam Style, Friday by Rebecca Black, Logan Paul, ANY Youtuber Diss track.
-
Most modern pop songs. :facepalm It's such a overrated genre of music. Oh and those god awful school songs.

I have to second this. Ironically, Avril Lavigne is one of my favorite singers because of her post-grunge and nu-metal days (her first two albums), and some of her other songs after that, like Head Above Water and When You're Gone, among a few others. But "Hello Kitty"... it blows my mind that the same person who wrote a song about the passing of a loved one, "Slipped Away", could write something like "Hello Kitty". I feel similarly about her song "Bad Girl" featuring Marilyn Manson... poorly written and cringy.
Other than that for me, literally any party song by Hollywood Undead, like "Coming in Hot", "No. 5", and "Everywhere I Go". I don't know why old Hollywood Undead enjoy these songs - the cringe factor aside, the lyrics are too crude for my taste, and I wouldn't recommend that anybody listen to them - the lyrics are really cringe and disturbing so I won't even link them here. Hollywood Undead's deeper songs like "Young", "We Are", "Pain", "Gotta Let Go", "Nightmare", and "Outside" have so much more lyrical depth and effort to them than their party-oriented songs ever will (the only exception to this in their 15 years as a band is their song "My Town").

Probably this one. I love Paul McCartney just as much as the next guy, but this song.... is not it. :p

This assault on your stomach comes from a Moshi Monsters parody of Lady Gaga. Understandably, Lady Gaga sued.
