Well, basically. I was just thinking that TLBT doesn't have titles for all the species.

I mean, they have names like "Longneck" "Three Horns" and "Sharptooth." But the names that exist wouldn't really cover all the dinosaurs.

What would they call a Styracosaurus? A "One horn?" as opposed to a "Three Horn"? Would a compsagnathus be considered a "Sharptooth", a "Fast Runner", or something different all together?

That's what I made this thread for. I think we, the fans, should fill in these gaps. It wouldn't hurt to try. Besides, it might even be fun :3

So some species to get you started:

1. Styracosaurus
2. Compsagnathus
3. Therizinosaurus

Compsagnathus would probably = "tiny sharptooth".

In one land before time story I'm writing a Styracosaurus plays a very important role. In that story I choose to refer to the Styracosaurus as a crownhorn refering to the horns of his frill rather than the single horn on his nose.

Well, in my case, the one I thought of was calling a Raptor of some sort a "Sharpclaw", but then I realized that that was taken by Starfox Adventures, so I changed it to "Bladefeet"

I referred to them as "Sickleclaws" in one of my stories. The term is kind of questionable as dinosaurs wouldn't know what a sickle is, but I reckon the same goes for many terms to describe the claws (including blade). Perhaps it would be possible to let dinosaurs refer to them as curvedclaws or bentclaws, but while it might be a proper term for dinosaurs it might give a human reader a moment of confusion.

What a coincidence. That's what I call the raptors in my dark LBT fanfic.
