Title: Concerning spam-posts
Post by: Malte279 on April 16, 2013, 06:29:44 AM
Some of you have noticed the recent cropping up of spam-mail on the GOF. The best thing is to just ignore that rubbish. Rest assured that the posts are being removed as soon as we see them, that the accounts of the spam posters and everything related to them are being axed and banned from the accounts and (this is to the address of those posting the spam) people on the GOF are not going to remember any of the products advertised for or if they do only with the fierce intention to avoid any products whose producers feel the necessity of ramming down advertisments down other peoples throats in such a manner!

What you can also do is click the nice, little 'report' button at the top right of a post. That way we'll be informed through email and may be able to react even quicker ;)

That's what I used, the report button, back years ago when there was some porn spam.  It's pretty easy to use as I recall.

I commented and reported on the last one I think. But I swear the last advertisement I've seen before. Do you ban users IP address so when banned users try to make another account there can't or do you leave it?

We ban everything related to an account including the IP addresses. What spam we get doesn't come from the same IP address more than once.

I see, thanks for clearing that up.
