Thanks you Ducky123.QuoteSpeaking of honesty, I have to admit that I'm a little annoyed with Dalekdino's response. While criticism can be a helpful tool, not explaining why something is bad or how to improve adds nothing except for the possible future deterrent of the artist in question. The sad thing is dalek throws a tantrum whenever you say something bad about his art... I dare you, Flathead (kidding)
Well, I think saying you're "not a gifted artists" is quite fitting here. Very honest there, yet you shared it. That's much better than bragging about it!
Flathead's advice is very good. When I started drawing, I was very bad at drawing. I only got things to look nice because I traced. While I still use screenshots to get where I want to get, I stopped tracing mindlessly and started to think about why something looks the way it does and remember that so I know it the next time... and I am learning to think in shapes slowly
I'm definitely not gifted either but I'm learning with every drawing. If drawing is something you enjoy doing, then please don't get discouraged. As long as you have fun creating, create. Doesn't matter if it's not high-quality art
I got the perfect idea for a movie.I doubt that would happen.
Land Before Time 15: The Final Adventure
In this epic conclusion to the series, Littlefoot and all of his friends set out on their biggest adventure yet. The movie will feature everyone from all 14 movies and 26 episodes in it.
At the end of the movie, all of the residents in the Great Valley and Villians, mostly Sharptooth, fight in a Dinosaur War. Who will win the battle? The villians are lead by Red Claw while the heros are led by Littlefoot, his friends, and the residents.
To my thought, After 30 years, and 15 movies and 26 episodes made, next year, 2018, It’s time for Land Before Time to end.
This is my personal opinion, but first and foremost, the fifteenth movie should be timed to coincide with the first film's 30th anniversary. It would just feel like a very fitting choice of release date. That seems like a cool idea especially about the 30th Anniversary thing. As for what I'd like.... Hmmm... I'm not too sure right now. All I know is is that I'd like for real effort and above all else heart to be put it into the production of this film should it be made.
As for what the movie should be about, I think it should be set after the TV series and deal with Chomper's conflict of his own identity, as he's both a Sharptooth and a Great Valley resident. It would be started after a lot of Sharpteeth flock around the Great Wall because some sort of environmental disaster is forcing their food supply into the Great Valley, which (compared to other areas) is still thriving with plant life. This migration crisis inevitably leads to paranoia within the Great Valley, and tense relations between the residents and Sharpteeth.
This may seem a little too reminiscent of political topics such as terrorism and immigration, but I feel this movie could be a really good opportunity to share a meaningful lesson with this.
Hey Chomperrules, It's cool to see other people showing off their art. Speaking of honesty, I have to admit that I'm a little annoyed with Dalekdino's response. While criticism can be a helpful tool, not explaining why something is bad or how to improve adds nothing except for the possible future deterrent of the artist in question.Thank you for the advice. After I'm done sharing the rest of my LBT drawings I will TRY to do what you suggested when I draw a new one.
Now to the topic at hand. I might have a few tips that could be helpful. I'm still at a point where almost all of my drawings are taken directly from scenes in the movie for reference. I feel like this is the best way to get practice when starting out. Next time try googling a character and redrawing the pose as best as possible (and don't just trace the image as you won't see any mistakes you're making).
It's also best to try and break it down into simple shapes at the beginning. Littlefoot for example can initially be drawn like so:
I started with drawing a circle for the main body, a couple more for the legs and feet, a simple triangle for the tail and finally two lines for the neck with a smaller circle for the head. This rough work at the start can help reduce proportionality problems as you move along.
From here you can start to make adjustments to the final product. For this one I erased lines where the shapes connect:
The one thing I want to point out with your drawings is how you draw your legs. A quadruped wouldn't have it's 4 legs evenly spaced out throughout it's body. It has 2 in front and 2 at the back. I included the other 2 legs in this stage as well, slightly offsetting them and shortening them to help give the appearance that they are more towards the background. Now that I'm satisfied with that, I start to put in the more fine details.
For the spine I use half circles, making sure that the top part of the circles are above the line I used for his back. Next I added in a wavy line for the top part of his back that is darker in colour and a line for his underbelly which is lighter in colour. I finished with some face detail (Drawing faces for me is one of the hardest parts and requires a good amount of practice and familiarity so don't be discouraged if you have difficulties on that part).
This is what helps for me anyways so I hope some of that can help you in some way. Good luck!
Thanks for letting me know. It has now been correctedQuote from: chomperrules1993,Oct 29 2017 on 12:00 AMHmm judging by the description on the Fan Art And FanFiction Section only LBT related material goes there whereas non LBT material goes in the other section as Soverin pointed out. Sorry for the double postthere's Edit and dElete buttons. You can delete second posts, and edit your own posts, so you don't have to ask mods for that.
Erm..... I have to be honest here. I'm sorry to say but those drawing aren't very good...I know.... As I said I'm not a gifted artist but drawing is just a fun habit of mine and I really enjoy it. I appricate your honesty though
Most people have made another thread for non-LBT stuff in the Arts-section's visual art part. Also, nice to see you again.Thank you Soverin.
Create your personal thread in Fanart and Fanfiction folder.Awww I thought of that but I assumed it only for LBT stuff. Thanks Snik!
