Ladies and gents, allow me to introduce to you one of the greatest comedy tv shows to ever grace the tv screen. Mystery Science Theater 3000. The award winning Peabody tv series that still til this day has a grand fanbase.

It has long since ended, though it still lives on through DVD sales, and videotape swaps between fans. And Youtube!

Meet Crow T. Robot, Tom Servo, Gypsie, Cambot, Joel Robinson, Mike Nelson and the Mads. Join them as they journey through the murky waters of bad movies.

In this thread, I will build a massive compilation of MST3K shorts (some short educational videos that they riffed before going into the main movie of the week) and eventually a large list of the movies themselves.
I'm sure there's maybe one or two persons here who have already witnessed the wonders that is MST3K, some may not like it, others will find it hilarious!

Anyway, here we go!

It was a very hilarious series.  I didn't think many other folks remembered the series.  Thanks for the links.

Actually, its more difficult to come across someone who doesn't remember the series.

I've met quiet a few people who have never even heard of it.

By the way, they are still riffing films. Mike Nelson hosts www.rifftrax.com with Kevin and Bill (Cow T. Robot and Tom Servo in their later years, also Professor Bobo and Observer) And Joel Hodgeson is about to host Cinematic Titanic starting sometimes in December. This will include Marry J. Pehl and the two original voice talents of the bots, (Trace and Bill)

There's also a new flash series online being hosted by Best Brains inc. and the original producer of the entire MST3K series Jim Mallon.

you can find the flash at www.mst3k.com its currently in its beginning state, and well.. most fans hate it because its so... diferent

I'll give a look at those links when the opportunity arises. ;)

EDIT: Hmm.... There seems to be a lot of this on YouTube (obviously). Now, is this a television series, a movie series, a YouTube series, or what?

Its a television series that made fun of really bad movies

they had only one movie due to popular demand, though it honestly didnt do so well in the box office

I already made a topic on this, just so you know.

Here.
Of coarse, Weatherlord, I was foolish to not check around before posting this thread.. this is not in anyway to take credit for bringing it to the forum attention, its just a good reminder that I'm not the only fan of this brilliant series!

Thanks for letting us know ^^

Yeah, basically, the show is based on "riffing" B-Grade movies.

Yeah, I've seen a lot of Mystery Science Theater on Youtube, too, unfortunately.

Not a short but I thought some fans may like this.  Though likely everyone knows about this and has seen it many times.

It's the opening to what most call either season 0 or the KTMA era.  It's the opening of the series in the year before season 1 when it was a low budget UHF show on the KTMA channel, forgot what city it was in.  After this 1 season they were canceled and they took some clips to show around and get on whatever the comedy channel was called then.

So, my assumption is that the YouTube clips are uploads of episodes, right?

From the bits I've seen there are clips of actual episodes, and shorts.  The episodes were about 2 hours so they would have to be quite a few bits to get a whole episode.

I've added a full episode (in 10 parts) to the first post, check it out. This one is Manos; The Hands of Fate, one of the best episodes they did back when Joel was hosting the series.

oh, and in response to Hor, the KTMA days were classic, but there's only two episodes that were salvaged from that series. The rest of the episodes are forever... lost...

Special Note of Interest: The Episode Manos is what inspired my raptor character Torgo, named and modeled after a certain character in this episode ^_^

I found a few more of the educational shorts.  They are funny even before they are riffed.  Enjoy.

Edited: removed the links since they are already in the main list.

Good idea to put the links all in one place.

 Watching all of that would consume all of my time. I don't guess this is televised anymore, or released on DVD or whatever?

Sci-fi channel canceled it in 1999.  There are some episodes on dvd, which is the reason I didn't put any links to episodes I found on youtube.    The episode AvestheForumFox put up will let you see what an episode looks like and the shorts will let you see some of what the show is like.   Some episodes are out on dvd, but mainly in sets, which seems to be all the rage in the usa.  Best brains has already mentioned they do not mind tape or episode sharing, last time I looked.  With these if you like the show enough you may decide to put it on your eventually to buy list, if not you can enjoy some shorts for a while.   The show was on 10 official seasons.
