Dang it! I wasn't here to vote... I was busy. Why is it that I never am able to get anything here? I've contributed to many, many parts of this forum...

And I am easily either the most or second-most prolific role-player here... just look at how fast my RP grew!

If there was an award for underappreciated member, I'd win it...

I can't believe that it will be a whole dang YEAR before I might have the chance again...

No offense, but what is with you, Noname? So you didn't win an award. Big deal. I don't think you'll encourage many people to vote for you with this kind of attitude. I didn't win an award last year and I didn't get upset about it.

(sigh)... I know. It's just that I've been doing everything that the winners have done (except fanart and music) for years... and have been here a lot longer than they have been without any recognition.

It's easy for you to say that... look at all of the awards that you have won!

Well, there still is the appreciated member award Noname.. And for next year you should focus on one award that you think you could win, and make your case over the next year by working in projects or roleplaying or what have you.. Roleplaying usually gets the fewest votes.. so all it takes is a few votes there to win it..

Patience and resolve will see you through.. An award won after a long time striving for it, is much sweeter.. the long hours put in to get it, makes winning it that much more special.. There is nothing you can do, at this moment, to affect the votes cast this year.. But next year , is a whole other matter..

Next year? They said that the last time... and the time before that! Sorry if I am so unpleasant... I would be happy to walk away with a token prize... I've been doing all I can to raise my status here.

I understand your frustration, however you aren't doing yourself a favor by acting this way, Noname. Just be patient and keep trying. If you don't get an award next year, just keep trying and see if you'll win it the year after that, and so on and so forth.

Kacie is right. Public complaining doesn't win much sympathy. All you can do is accept the vote, and move on, and work harder the next time around..

... I don't believe that anything I do will win me much... I've been contributing here for a long time at levels equal to the winner in most ways (except for fanart.)

I'm just looking for recognition for what I have already done. I will continue to increase my output, though.

I'd even take a "veteran member" token. The only reason that I am not being awarded is a matter of popularity.

But I do appreciate you working with me on Action's LBT game project (especially the "Combat" thread).

Nick22 gave me permission to have an honorable mention. This wasn't the first time I've had to fight for recognition on a site... but it usually pays off.

I never really thought fighting was necessary to get recognition.

Most groups in world history have had to fight some other force to get recognition, and often, when they are recognized, they flourish and outshine the previous group which had kept them down.

Noname its ok, next year isn't totally far away if you think about it. I knew I wasn't going to win any awards this year even though I been here for 2 years. What really matter is try and share as much as you can with the other members and have fun, will pay off sooner than you think.

It is VERY far away for me... seriously... a whole YEAR? And I won't likely win anything then either! How come I never did before?! Really, I've done everything the winners have ever done except for fanart and music! It is based on personal preference, not merit! The only thing I did NOT do was make an Avatar until today and there were times when I could not log in due to being busy!

If not for me complaining, I wouldn't have gotten this "honorable mention"! I don't want to wait a year for a sympathy vote! I just want my due, like anyone would want. I wish there were some extra category that I could be voted for... I mean, hardly anyone even CONSIDERED me for the voting, and I have been here since near the very start!

They are just basing most of the votes off of how many times one shows up and how flashy one looks, not actual substance!

Alright Noname that is enough.. You have been here since 2006, this board was founded in 2003. The first year of the awards was 2006, you were first eligible in 2007. You will have to wait the year, as will all of those who did not win this year. Complaining publicly will not get you any sympsathy.. I have been patient with you, explaining what you can do to make you case for next year as strong as possible..
