I got mine several years ago, when only season 1 of Digimon was out. Yeah I was a huge Digimon fan back then. I still like it, but not as much. Anyway, Hououmon was the japanese name of Phoenixmon. I liked Hououmon's design, and created an evil version, DarkHououmon, for an old story I was writing. I adopted the villain's name as my username. DarkHououmon translates as "dark phoenix monster".

I suppose I owe you an explanation
I first came up with the name "Action Man" as a little kid, perhaps 6 or 7; who was sort of a sci-fi superhero with tons of money and awesome technology, who flew around space, participating in races, fighting evil, all that good stuff
Anywho, I eventually had to give his vehicles names, and I ended up using 9 as the model numbers, with the 9000 being the newest model.
When I was about 12, I discovered that Hasbro toys had recently created a character with the same name, Action Man

and that really made me mad, since I used to use "Action Man" or simply "Action" as my screen name, and people were Constantly bugging me about my reference to the stupid (in my biased opinion. If anyone here is an AM fan, I mean no offense, just stating how I felt) toy. I attempted to convince people that I came up with the name well before Hasbro ever used it, but, of course are dumb
Anywho, I decided to apply the old model number into my screen name, to cover up the "Action Man", where my new name is derived from. Hence, Action9000 was born.

Anyways....
I got my name from the species Achillobator. One reason I chose this name is because Achillobator is pretty much on of the largest "raptor" dinosaurs. Ever since Megaraptor stopped being a raptor, I was on the search for a replacement :p (I eventually chose Utahraptor, with Achillobator as runner up)
The second reason was because what the name means!
Achillo = Achilles (One of the greatest warriors of all time!)
Bator = Hero (Who doesn't want to be a hero? :p)
So yeah...that's my reason. Because it makes me sound like some kind of Warrior Raptor.

I am Malte in real live. It is my actual name. There are a few nicknames I could come up with, but in spite of the fact that I'm busy almost every moment of my life it still is not too bad to be Malte. I don't long to be anyone else, so why should I take a different name? :P:
Malte is not a frequent name over here (not the kind you will usually find in shops where they sell "personlized" stuff with the most common names written or printed on it). The name is of Danish and Old High German origin. The meaning of it is not known by most people (the same is true for most names. Check out what your real life name actually means. Sometimes it is really funny), but I found two different translations, either "He who rules with the helmet" or "The advisor of the people's council". While I feel more at ease as an advisor than a ruler I had this funny drawing of me wearing a helmet (it is from a lord of the rings parody movie where I appeared in the closing credits for some minor help I could offer to the creators of the movie) so I made the drawing my avatar and the helmet related translation of my name my member title.
As for the 279, that's just my birthday. Over here we write first the day and then the month. I'm born on the 27th September = 279.

Oh! How this brings back horrible memories. :(
It all started way back in Junior High. People were teasing me about my real name, John. They were simple things at first, Johnny, Johnny Boy, John Jacob Jingle Himer Smith (Which brought back horrible memories of Barney.), etc. Then someone started calling me a toilet and it then lead to someone calling me a "potty mouth". It was horrible. I had enough. My actions from then though nearly got me suspended. I then got consoling to find what the problem was. It's kind of sad from there. No matter what I did to tell them to stop, they just didn't. Evil thoughts invaded my mind. I wanted it all to end. I even felt like taking a weapon to school and killing those who were making fun of my name. However, I knew better than that and continued to surpress such thoughts. By then, I was entering my final year of High School, and I thought I wouldn't be able to hold back the thought of killing someone.
Then one day, someone was making fun of my name once again and I was about to engage in actions that would probably end up getting me suspended, when someone just stepped up and defended me. After the punk that was teasing me left, I then introduced myself to the one that stood up for me and found him to be a friend of mine from elementary. He and his friends had seen everything and we talked about my past. They decided that since they were such good friends of mine that they would be my bodyguards throughout my final year of High School. I tell you now, I never felt so relieved then I did right there. Thanks to them, I was able to survive my final year of High School and graduate with a 4.00 in CPA. My grades may not have been as high, but that CPA showed just how blessed I was to have friends that were willing to stick up for me.
It wasn't long until then that I had gotten into the internet. I was about to register at GameFAQs.com and about to put my real name at "Username", when I suddenly stopped myself. All of the horrible memories started to come back. I didn't want that again. I thought carefully about a name I could use to keep that from happening on the net. I then came up with the name YellowandGold251. It basically defined the Pokemon games I owned at the time and the number of pokemon that were in the game at the time.
For a while, things were okay. Then one day someone called me YAG251. I didn't think of it as anything bad, just someone doing initials to make talking to me easier. Then some n00b comes around and not only removes the numbers, but does the initials backwards and saying that it was what my nickname really meant. Okay, making fun of my real name was bad enough, but calling me a homosexual? I then decided to suspend my account and go somewhere else. By then, I had discovered Serebiiforums.com. It was a rather nice place. Best of all, the mods weren't willing to have anyone be flamed, bashed, trolled, teased, etc. They took the job of a mod rather seriously. For those reasons, I decided to join, that and by then I had done a story for the franchise and wanted to show it off in the Fanfiction section. :P:
I then came upon "Username" once again and thought carefully about what I could put in. I then decided that since I was such a fan of Pokemon, I would use that as part of my Username. I knew I needed something more though. So, I came up with the simple idea that I was just someone who played pokemon, and thus the name Pokeplayer was born.
The numbers? Add them up and you'll know the age I was when I inherited such a name.
No teasing of my name since that day. Anyone who does though will be up against an army since there's such a huge fanbase in the franchise and quite a number of people willing to stand up for you. The calmer community of Serebiiforums.com gave me the will to start standing up for myself. It was because of them that I was able to mature and find more peaceful ways of dealing with those that just make fun of others because they have nothing better to do.
Pokeplayer984 is more than just a name of some fan of Pokemon. It tells the story of someone who wanted to be more known that just a kid with some name. It is a triumph over the adversity of evil.
And you know what? I couldn't be happier with such a name. :)

Yeah, I used to get made fun of too. That lead me to be depressed a lot in elementary. ELEMENTARY! That's sorta young, don't you think? >.> of course it was my later years. Because of that I shun away from real life. I also tend to hide when i do pretty much anything! I can not draw, watch an old movie, or even look up things that interest me if someone is near. I tend to be a very withdrawn and paranoid person in that sense. I feel safer on the internet, though :p (Isn't that backwards?)

Mines fairly simple well simple if you can read old english and find the same book i did heh. It is taken from a dragon in a old legend who had no name only a description. Dragon of fire from the dieing star. Fire from a star flare a dieing star a nova flip the words around and combine them for novaflare. As a gm for various games over the years ive used other nicks on various cheating forums such as demon_dragon or demond or cheetor (fave char from beast machines. I used these other nicks as a undercover sort of deal. Cheetor was a mod/admin on one game cheat forum/site.
Most of the time i do not include my real name in forum profiles as i have a fairly good rep and am fairly well known online as novaflare or nova. So if you see forum posts by nova on a forum online and my avatar is some dragon or another 90% chance it is me who made the post heh.

Why did I choose the username I chose? Well, I've been a major fan of Bionicle for a quite a while. When I joined here, I thought about having a username relating to it. My favorite Bionicle character of all time is Takua (a picture of whom is my avatar). He was entitled Chronicler sometime in the first year of Bionicle, so I decided to go by that title as a username. Also, my second-favorite Bionicle character, Kopeke, is currently entitled Chronicler.

Well, as I releaved in a previous post, I am a furry. Technically a scalie, though, as my fursona is an anthro sauropod. My favorite color is purple, and I worked that into my fursona (named Dino Thunderlung) by giving him a lavender underpelly with a darker purple back, though he has a deep red patterned through his back as well.
It was actually Arrogantrex who pointed out the similarity to Littlefoot. :p And then not too long after that, he pointed me here. I thought about coming up with a littlefoot oriented name, and indee probably would have had it not been for people like Littlefoot Fan and Petrie who showed me that there are a few here who have fallen into the trend of using the gang for their names. Well, being the trend breaker that I am, I decided I didn't want to do that, but I still wanted something that anyone who found out about Dino could understand. Purple Presence just seemed to fit. ^._.^

The pinguin's name is mumble, and as i really liked him playing in the movie, and felt like we were almost the same, i wanted his name to be my nickname.. But Mumble was already chosen the first time i wanted to enter it in a game. So i chose Mumbling, and that one I still like to use :) .

Adam introdyuced my to Welcome to the Great Valley orum, which I eventually took over. That was my first attempt at runnng a forum. It didn't work, but I gained a few friends , threehorn and Kenji Mirumotom who joined this forum before I did. I abandoned the forum in January on 2005 having hjoined this board in November 04. It has been 3 years since I joined, I'll be 25 in April...

Name's pretty much self-explanatory. Littlefoot happens to be my fav LBT character. The number 1616 is actually supposed to read "sixteen-sixteen" rather than one thousand six hundred and sixteen. It's my lucky/fav number read twice ;) The only other screen name I tend to use is my gamers name for online play which is "TBlade16". TBlade is shortened from "Thunderblade" which was one of my favourite shoot-em up video game from the 90s (bonus points for anyone who can remember that game :D ). Again, 16 coz it's my fav number ;)

Mine came from an anime called Pilot Candidate. A Zenoah (Zeno-ah) was the description of a perfect human. I dont think Im perfect, mind you, the name came up when I got AIM. I needed a SN and I wanted one to go with the anime and had to do with my fave chara, Zero.
A lot were taken, until I came up with Zenoah Zero (since he was a zenoah) so when I joined forums, I was Zenoah Zero. Then it got too long so I downgraded to Zenoah. Thou I pronounce it Zen-noah.

My username came from Legend of the 5 Rings, a pretty big RPG game like Dungeons & Dragons. I never played the game yet, but I've read almost all the novels following the game that have been written. I kind of decided to give myself the name for role-playing in several chat rooms (the was one of which I finally got to play with someone that was a veteran of the game itself). Since alot of my friends (here included) knows my name, I decided to keep it.

I didn't want to use one of my OC names like "Shaman Angelina" like I do on Tropicalia's forum. And I didn't want to use the common term, "Cat Lady" (although I adore them even more than rats:D) I have always loved rodents too, and I love rats, so my name was a matter of me just being original. :p As for the number 7, it was just random and I didn't know if anyone else here would have the username "Rat lady", although I did doubt that anyone would. It's pretty uncommon to find someone that is a rat person. At least, I don't know too many that are.:p

If I would go by my zodiacs I would be a "librarian rat". Librarian (if the word even exists with reference to the zodia Libra; which I doubt) would also be an ambiguous word, but I would really like that double meaning.

Sorry if there was any confusion caused by my screen name :unsure:. I know it's a bit...odd, but I felt my screen name should be something that describes me personally. Actually, I was going to go with Cera's name, but since a banned member had used that name, it could not be used again and I would not want to be mistaken for a previously banned member :bang. Yeah, I know mine's a bit complicated but I'm glad the confusion is gone B).

That brings up a good point. Character names are popular username choices, and when a user is banned and obviously not coming back, could the username come back as an option. The same has happened with Ducky.

this is my story on how i got my user name....it's sorta short though
one day my mum and dad got home and they had some cartoons that they bought for me called metabots, i really liked the show....after at least 2-3 years i then went to a private school and i met a great friend called Orin, he told me about a game called bots, it seemed really cool. for my user on that game i wanted it to be metabee.....although that was taken...so i chose metadude, later on on different websites i added the 1234 the reason i did this was because if you add them all up it makes 10, when i turned 10 it was my best birthday so far. that's how i got my user name

An old nickname of mine was agar (its contrived from my name). Raga is just agar backwards. There are times when I use agar, it was once my regular user name for whatever I did online (usually with some numbers after it). I first used raga when I couldn't get an agar username I liked, had to use some ridiculous numbers, and then started using it in place were I wanted to hide my identity a little more. I don't care about that much anymore. At least not here, my real name is Andy and you guys can call me that if you want.

My current name started forming when I first joined fanfiction.net. I called myself Hazad90 after a character of mine and 90 which is my favorite number, I guess. Later I changed it to Dragonsoul90 because I like dragons so much. Later, I wanted to incorporate some way to make the name shorter, because someone had shortened it to DS and I thought those two letters could be used in a someone insulting manner if someone chose to think of two alternate words for the letters to stand for. I didn't want to confuse the people watching me by changing my name too much though, so I changed my name to Drake Dragonsoul. (Drake being an obvious dragon related name and something people could call me without shortening my name.)

My newest commonly used username is Sapphirescales. I like the color sapphire (and the sapphire radeon graphics card) and I like the character Saphira so I put scales in there to remind me of a dragon. I was thinking of making my new username Sapphiredragon, but it was way too over-used and didn't look as nice as Sapphirescales so that's the username I eventually chose. At first I found the username to be too feminine for my taste, but I eventually got used to it.
Another reason I wanted to choose a username with the word "sapphire" in it is because sapphire was one of those words I just could NEVER spell right! Now I can spell it with my eyes closed. You don't know how embarrassing it is for a repair tech such as myself to be talking about sapphire tech on the tech forums and always spell sapphire wrong! :bang

Riiiggghhtt.... Greenland part of Denmark......... ehm, they share our royalty, but they tend to govern themselves. Besides I don't personally call Greenland a part of Denmark. When you say Denmark, you mean the small country just above Germany, and below Sweden and Norway. Greenland and Fʯerne is not really counted, unless you mean the Kingdom of Denmark, which I would say counts it all.

My name has two meanings- one referencing to the nickname of the Land Before Time character of whom I am very fond, and the other to a more literal explanation. I am told I come across in a friendly manner by my peers, just as I can say in regards to those I know here on the forum. Henceforth my explanation for the literal part of my nickname here.
The third word in my title was also taken in consideration literally. One of my adult canine teeth (upper right) is longer and sharper than any of my other teeth- a slight deformity. Thus, my alias here is both figurative and literal in regards to its origin. (I hope I do not come across as boasting about the friendliness part, as I do not call myself such, but my nickname is based off the words of those around me.)

My user name is (rather obviously) taken from the continental amalgamation of the same title that formed in the Permian period (~300-250 million years ago) and broke up during the Jurassic period (~200-145 million years ago). Likewise, my avatar is a Lystrosaurus (a dicynodont, not a dinosaur), the most ubiquitous vertebrate inhabitant of Pangaea at the beginning of the Triassic period.

well the meaning of my username is a bit complicated.
but well the first part of my username "Belmont" is referance to a clan(or more like a bloodline) of vampire hunters from the Castlevania videogame series each weilds a sacred whip called the "Vampire Killer".
the second part "2500" is just random I chose that because if you put "Belmont" and "2500" together it sounds good.

I like Star Wars, so Jedi just came naturally. I wanted to combine that with a number I'd remember, and I wanted to use 8472 because I watched a lot of Star Trek Voyager and remembered some aliens in the show were called Species 8472. I felt that was too long, though, so I shortened it to 472 and tacked it on. I think it sounds good.

My username was specifcally created for this site. I love the images of the Great Valley and felt that it needed a protector, or a Guardian spirit. Originally my Fan character Longtail was supposed to fill that roll by playing martyr and passing on, using his spirit to protect the valley.

The day I found this site, I tried to think of what I could use as a username. I didn't want something LBT related, because I thought that'd be too easy. Then I remembered earlier that day I had successfully gotten Caleb Goldman into the Tvtropes pantheon as 'God of Hilariously Awful Voice Acting' under the name ProtectorOfTheLoyfeCycle.
Now, why use that name here? Well, if you hadn't already known (http://youtube.com/watch?v=Ftc_Pbhb3IE), Caleb Goldman from House of the Dead 2 might very well be, in all honesty, the Plan 9 from Outer Space of video game voice acting. And it's not just that the voice acting is so bad-- it's because of Goldman himself. Goldman constantly has that dead serious scowl on his face, his hands clasped in the villainous gesture of an evil mastermind, unleashing a massive zombie hoard across Venice that has killed hundreds-- if not thousands-- of people... And he does it all with the dialouge of a 3rd grader, a voice actor that sounds like he's trying to chew taffy while sedated, and the most laughably absurd justification for unleashing a zombie apocalypse I've ever heard of.
The line 'to protect the life cycle' (with absurdly pronounced inflection on the li in life) perfectly illustrates the bizarre, amusing mixture of characteristics that makes Goldman so oddly amusing and endearing. A man who is deathly serious and yet impossible to take seriously in the slightest-- a man who tries to come off as foreboding and dramatic and seems completely oblivious to the hilarious tone he strikes. I found that to be the perfect thing to try to channel while posting here in the Gang of Five, and that's also why I don't have an avatar portrait-- my signature photo is too big to let me have an avatar photo, but I think it'd be a crime not to give this diamond in the rough wack job the limelight he deserves.

My username is a reference to the January 9, 2009 comic of Penny Arcade. I actually chose this username several years ago when I was trying to join a website known as the portal of evil (which sadly is no longer extant) and was having difficulty finding a username that was not taken. After going through several simple names (red, blue, square, sphere, hunter, etc.) I became frustrated and simply picked the most offbeat username I could think of that wasn't a random series of characters.
