Got my website server running!

Hey all,

Thanks to tobeysan's help, I now have a website and file server running out of my house. What does this mean?

1) The address of my Lyrics website is changed to a computer running in my own house (see my signature for the new address). This makes changes to the site much easier to make since I don't have to fight with uploading and whatnot; I just need to edit the site and the changes show up instantly. Expect an update to the lyrics site in the near future.

2) I can host basically all of the TV episodes from my own computer, with no limits on downloads, uptimes, or anything else. The only thing is, my file transfer speed is limited by my Internet Service Provider to about 60 kb/s. It's not fast, but the links will always work. B)

3) I'll be able to keep links to any music, pictures or anything else free for downloading ay anytime, permanently. Again, download speeds may be a little slower than other sites.

If anyone wants to donate so I can buy a faster Internet connection to improve download speeds and more bandwidth, I'm willing to accept!

I just ask one favour of everyone here. Please do not download A Lot of data off of me. I have about 60 GB per month of data transfer, which is a lot but it may add up pretty fast with 50 some active users downloading 20 TV episodes from me. Please try to take it easy and I'll leave the links up. When you download files from this site, you are using MY Personal Bandwidth, which affects MY Personal internet connection. If I see my bandwidth usage go through the roof, I'll have to remove some links. Be nice to me and I'll be nice to you. Thanks. B)

If the site or the links ever do NOT work on my site, just wait awhile and try again. If the links are broken, it just means that I'm either working on the computer, rebooting it, or doing something to it which breaks its internet connection. It should be up shortly. Just be patient and it will be back up.

Getting to it! The website has been low on my list of priorities lately; I'll get the missing songs, as well as some glitches fixed and links added in the near future.

Thanks for the lyrics though; maybe that'll save me some time! B)

Oh, just one more detail about my web server that I should mention:
As it stands now, when you download a file off of it, you get all of my upload bandwidth. This means that only one person at a time can download at full speed. If a second person starts downloading, each person gets only half the upload transfer rate. Rates

1 person: 30 kb/s
2 people: 15 kb/s
3 people: 10 kb/s
and so on...

Sorry about this...it's the best I can do without buying a super-expensive internet service.
