Instead of having the same ole, "What did ya get?" question, I'm curious to see what most people gave their friends and fam. :)

I mostly gave everyone cards with heart felt messages, or I tried to make them felt heart. :)

My younger brother: I wasn’t able to make it back to the antique store that had a number of rocks and fossils he wanted, so I gave him a homemade coupon good for any fossil under $40 on me. :p

My youngest brother: A large "picture" agate and a model Scutosaurus.

My sister: Little glass figurines of a gazelle and a penguin, and a miniature soapstone statue of a chicken.

My parents: An organic 70% dark chocolate bar.

Everyone also received a meticulously made hand-drawn Christmas card by me, and I slipped a "good luck mini T. rex" into each of my siblings’ presents.

Pronounced "pan-JEE-uh". Spelled with three A's. Represented by a Lystrosaurus.

Oooh, let's see.

Mother: a new car radio, cause her old one is borked.

Sister: a teddy bear and a DVD.

Father: collection of various chili sauces. He likes that sort of thing :p

Best friend: a gift voucher for a hobby shop, since we both are really into that sort of thing.

My sister holds the yearly record once again for most gifts received, at 10 total gifts. Jittery got 3 :lol

Books.  :lol

I gave them to my mother, father, and stepmother. Four books in all. And some cards to a lot of people, but no one counts those.  ;)

Wow, it makes me look egoistic when I look at the posts above... :o

To be honest, I gave nothing to my family. I tried to give them something.
Specifically a drawing of me and my family. That will also reveal my secret that I'm actually an artist (really, they have no idea).

Something held me back and I can't figure it out. =/

My immediate family (that is to say, my parents, brother, and me) give gifts as a family. So, whatever gifts we give to other family members come from all of us. :smile
I can't remember much of the details, but here's what I can recall:

Grandfather: Susan Boyle's new CD (he really, really wanted it :D)

Dad: The Ultimate Bee Gees and A Yodeller's Lullaby CDs

Mum: Gift Card

Brother: an Xbox 360, with Halo 3: ODST and Call Of Duty: World at War

...Dang, Christmas is already a distant memory. I can't remember any other gifts at the moment. Maybe I'll remember the rest tomorrow... :wacko

This was a great idea for a thread, so I bumped it for this year. (I would have done the same with “What did you get for Christmas?”, but someone started a new version for 2010. :p)

For my older younger brother I got an ammonite fossil and materials for his rock tumbler, including three pounds of agates. :smile I also made him a Christmas card designed to look like an agate.

To my youngest brother I also gave an ammonite (an iridescent one from Madagascar), and William Strunk, Jr's The Elements of Style. (He had earlier expressed admiration for my writing abilities, so I thought it would be nice if I could help him boost his skills in that area. :angel) I made him a card with a picture of a stingray and a platypus on it. :p

For my sister, a cap with a Goomba (from the Mario games) on it. :p Although she had told me that she had seen it in a store and really liked it, I was concerned that it wasn't much of a gift, so I made her a very elaborate card featuring several video game-style creatures (most of which I invented myself). I'm happy to say that she was very pleased with both gifts. :^.^:

I got my mom a piece of pyrite carved into the shape of a heart, (a literal “heart of fool's gold” :lol). She had seen it in the local rock shop when we went there to go Christmas shopping, and liked it so much that I practically had to tell her I would get it for her to keep her from buying it for herself right then and there. I gave her a card designed to look like a stingray.

For my dad, a book: The Elements: A Visual Exploration of Every Known Atom in the Universe. (He's into the physical sciences). I was running out of time and ideas at the time I made his card, so his just had brightly colored stylized text, which, as with all of my cards, I improvised myself.

I got myself some dvd's, 2 rpg books, some rpg dice, a box set of some peanuts newspaper comics, a pyrex measuring cup and some ski gloves (I don't ski but they will keep my hands warm).

I really like this idea of a thread Amy.  It really embodens the whole aspect of Christmas of giving rather than receiving...

My sister and I gave joint presents this year:
For mum: University jumper and a gift box of chocolates that she likes.
For dad: University jumper and a gift box of Haribo sweets.
For sister: A book that she likes due to the humour and a hoodie.
For Mozart: We got him some treats and a big feel pad.  Which he likes.

We also do secret santa for a person on Christmas eve.  This year I got Dad.  I got him a gift box of dried fruit and nuts since he's been asking for them for a while.

It was fun this year. :)

A few games for friends and brother, jewellery for little sis and mum, toys for the little ones and beer gift set for the old man. Didn't have much money this Xmas but glad I could at least attempt to give something.  :D
