Thanks for puting it in the right subforum Tim.
I cannot draw many lbt characters.. Actually, I only can draw one. Ducky. This is my first attempt to use photoshop.
I might try some more art..
-
You should be proud of yourself. Ducky has been deemed the HARDEST member of the gang to draw. (With both handdrawn and on the computer.) Being able to draw her with such precision shows quite a bit of talent. No one has been able to draw Ducky perfectly without TONS of practice. Seriously, if you can draw her, you can draw anyone.
If you ask me, you did quite well with her, though I'm sure a certian mod will be by soon and tell you if you're a little off or not. :P: (Chances are that you messed up with the nose. That's THE hardest part of her.) (Though if you got that right, you'll be highly praised. :D) Anyways, great job, and I hope you keep it up! :^.^:
-
The nose.. I did that part over 4 times.. The mouth 6. The original(coloured) drawing is this:
Edit: I have only drawn ducky once before.. And only her head, because her body didn't want to work out. This time the head turned out a bit strange, while the body worked out fine. I know it is just putting 2 parts together,, but is sooo hard.
-
not bad...
-
Thank you Kjeldo, I feel honoured..
-
I can't draw Ducky at all... :p
This is very good! :yes give yourself a pat on the back. :)
-
:lol Ouch, I patted myself too hard.. *red back*
And maybe the admins can change the name of the topic too.. it should've been 'Fanart by Mumbling'... I think I was sleepy..(not weird)
-
nicely done drawing.
-

I changed this topic name as you requested.
Very nicely-done, Mumbling! Photoshop is a tricky program to get used to; I took a class on it back in high school and I'm not not very good with it. :p
Very cool!
-
triple thanks, tim =) I can't work with photoshop I just do some effects sometime, I liked the way it turned green =P. Normally I only draw with a pencil.
-
Since your drawing came out so well do you plan on doing more?
-
You should be proud of yourself. Ducky has been deemed the HARDEST member of the gang to draw.
I don't know if there really is a scale on some characters being specifically harder to draw than others, but I guess that perception may vary depending on the artist. The proportions are certainly tricky.
I like the expression of your character (a bit like she just noticed something or is a little surprised about something).
As for constructive criticism, you mentioned that the nose was particularly difficult for you. I think the lower part of Ducky's nose usually runs roughly parallel to the upper part of her mouth. Her hands (though scientifically incorrect) sport an opposable thumb as seems to be the case with Ducky's right- but not with the left hand in the picture where fingers look a bit too equal in length.
Please don't mistake this for harsh criticism or something. Please keep going, I'm looking forward to see your next pictures Iris :yes
-
I do, yes. Littlefoot has helped me today. I am working at ducky being angry, but this time I make it from nothing. The drawing you see here... Her position was from a movie. (although the head was done by myself) Now I am planning to do both the head and the body by myself.
@ malte.. I am not really the one who's got a big eye for detail. They say Ducky is the hardest to draw, I don't know.. I think Cera is the hardest. I had the nose almost paralel to her mouth before.. But it was really looking strange =P. Next drawing might get more details though.
-
If you wish to work on some of her face parts more you could practice drawing ducky's face doing different expressions.
-
I think Cera is the hardest. I had the nose almost paralel to her mouth before.. But it was really looking strange =P.
I guess the ratio of the mouth to the eyes would have to be taken into account too. The distance of the mouth to the left / right eye would be similar but might vary a bit depending on the expression ;) <_< -_-
I think (again, this is just meant to help you and not to talk low of your drawing which I really like) the mouth is a little wry as the left corner of her mouth seems to be closer to the left eye than the right corner of her mouth to the right eye (left and right from Ducky's point of view). If now the nose was parallel to the mouth it would look like the nose was larger on one side than on the other. Faces are tricky as all the parts of it are interrelated. I don't want to know how much eraser volume I have used up on faces already :lol
-
Well done Iris! :yes
Though, you showed it to me before! :^.^:
Looking even better with colors now!
-
...Yeah! You go, Iris! :D Keep drawing!
-
Looks pretty good. :yes I tried to draw Ducky once but it turned out terribly. I don't remember if I posted it here or not. I certainly hope not. It was baaaaaaad. :p
-
Eh, you can always try again Austin...! :yes
If at first, you don't succeed, try, try again...
If at first, you DO succeed, try to hide your astonishment...! :lol
-
The best way to get better at drawing is to keep drawing, or so I've heard.
-
Thank you Malte, I apreciate your tips.. =)
And thanks to the others, I will have another one up soon.
-
Yeah! You go, Iris! Unleash your creative potential! :D ;) :)
-
Today at school i had to paint something for an assignment. Actually I had to prepare it two weeks ago, but I was too lazy so when I had to start I still didn't had an design. I really knew nothing I could draw.. Didn't had anything with me to draw from. I asked Fereshta 'shall I try and draw Ducky?' She said 'Yes!! Do so!' So I started.. And really, it worked out. I shall post a small pic of it made with mobile phone later. It's really awesome, although it almost looks like the first drawing I made, I still made it from nothing but my mind! =D
-
Here we go.. It's not really sharp because it's taken with mobile phone and my hands are always shaking so I could not hold the camera still.
Might have better pic later! When it is finished.. I'm proud of msyelf.
Btw: We could only use one colour and mix that with white or black. I chose green so that's why everything is greenish :p
-
It looks nice! Good work! :)
I wish I could draw Ducky! But I acctually fear for her, so I'll draw her later, much later!
-
That sounded funny
Ducky: RAWWWR I'M GOING TO EAT YOU GUSTAV YORK! Yep yep yep =D !
-
O.. Heh.. my dad's reaction:
'The dino thing still has to be coloured right?'
Sometimes
-
Nice drawing. I hope you keep drawing.
-
Yeah, Iris! You rock! Keep going! That's a good one; her face looks more refined! You're doing even better; keep it up!
On a side note, heh... The monochromatic (one color) thing... I like it! :D It makes it unique! A work of art, all its own! :DD
-
I'm no good with the painting brush though. It's really hard for me to mix the right colours and to paint exactly inbetween the pencil lines.
My dad is extremely good at making precise paintings.. I'll show you what I mean.. I can be so jealous of him. I'm not quite the painter, I'm more the drawer.. =P
Here is some of my dad's work.. It's not LBT related, but still I want to show it here.
It's Awesome, really. On the last one you can see the original photo on top of it.. So proud of my dad.. Sadly enough he doesn't paint anymore, it takes too much time(he isn't finished with the first one yet, and the second one took him months.. Every evening again.. He sure had patience.)
Anyways, I'll keep on drawing, yes :)
And I learned a new word, again. monochromatic
-
I'm glad to be able to teach you something, Iris...!
But, oh my god, WOW! That is amazing!!
-
It is.
-
Holy effing H***!!! That's some great painting. You should beg him to teach you everything he knows.
-
...I once knew a man who could draw in detail like that... But, that man is best left in the dust, now...
-
Looks like he is an excellent painter.
-
Whoa. You're dad made that?
The first painting looks ridiculously realistic. o.O
You should ask him to give you some tips.
-
Well.. It's a style of painting.. He took lessons for it.. Working on each detail.. He was one of the better ones of his group. He doesn't want to give me tips, as I expected. The style of painting is.. well.. if you compare it to pixels.. it will take 2 hours to paint one single pixel in the correct way... then think of a whole painting..(he paints in layers, but I show the pixel thing just to let you guys know how difficult it is).
I'm practicing facial expressions.. Here is Ducky enjoying her treestar.
-
Hey! Another one! :D  That's great! Keep it up, yep yep yep!
-
Another nice drawing. Looks like that treestar is almost her size. A good idea, practicing expressions. It gives you more practice in different ways a face can look.
-
Yes.. She is kind of small :p Or its a big treestar.. :p And yes..
Thank you.
-
fairly good,
-
Yes.. She is kind of small :p Or its a big treestar.. :p And yes..
Thank you.
It could be a bit of both. She'll likely have some of the treestar to save for later.
-
Wow so nice heheh, you are improving a lot there, keep working and practicing eh. Never give up, never stop, maybe sometimes you will get a lot of frustration but is part of the job :p. Again nice work, I love it.
-
Thank you Littlefoot. heh. Frustration, I don't want it to go that far.. When it doesnt work out I'll leave it unfinished..:p
By the way I have lost my ducky is angry drawing.. :(
-
...Really? Lost it? Don't you have like, a portfolio of some kind, that you can keep all your drawings in? Something safe to keep them all in?
Seriously Iris; you should invest in something like that, and keep it in a safe place... ;) ...I hope you find it again; or, you could always start again! :) Nothing wrong with that, right?
-
I keep all my drawings at one place, really.. But this one I was drawing while showing it to littlefoot.. Somehow, I forgot to put it where it should be... I'll find it though(hopefully).
-
There you go! That's the spirit! :yes :wave :^.^:
-
She certainly enjoys her treestar a lot :D
-
I promise to go back to LBT after this one..
I think there is some talent in my family. I found this old painting of my grandmother. She painted me, I was about 6.
Original:
Heh.. It's pretty.. So different from my dad's work.. more like mine.. still.. It's somewhere inbetween.
I love it.. And I love the original picture as well.
I'll soon finish another ducky drawing :)
By the way I found my ducky is angry drawing, yay.
-
It looks like she does enjoy her treestar, and it's good that you found your drawing. Your grandmother's painting does show a lot of skill too.
-
Heh... Yeah; it's all good!
Yeah Iris; you have lots of talent in your family! Heh, wow...
-
This is Ducky being angry ^^ Think of a story if you want to.
In some way you don't see any colour difference, while there really is.. This is my first attempt to draw petrie, from my mind.. eh yes.. That's about it.
O yes and her teeth aren't really visable..
-
Looks like Petrie is keeping his distance, and maybe Spike ate more of her special tree stars.
-
B)
-
Hey; that's awesome! Once again Iris, you've made a keeper... Good job! Oh, and Petrie looks really good in that one! :D
-
Wanna see something awesome?!
It's not yet finished but im working on this:
(I used photoshop to make lines thicker, so it's not really great.. It just gives you an idea of what I'm doing:) )
This was quite hard for me.. Because so far I had only drawn ducky and petrie(once).
But I am so going to be proud of it!!
-
Update, I now made the lines thinker with a cd marker :p Much better though
Ali meets chomper =D
(http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll44/gofmumbling/Scannen0004-1.jpg)
:^.^:
So what do you think of it?
Still going to color it by the way.
-
OH MY GOD!
Oh my god, Iris! That is.... AWESOME!
-
It's not that great, only cera turned out well.. but i'm proud cus I can draw them all.. more or less..
-
Not that GREAT?! Are you kidding? This is leaps and bounds of an improvement! ...Not that your other ones were bad, no no! But, this is incredible! I can't even DRAW them yet!
-
Okay.. true..
Hey can you talk to me on msn? Somehow it didnt work before with me.
-
...I know; I'm sending you messages, but.... It's not, ehh, working! ...Grrr...
-
Lol.. I shall go on another msn, see if that works.
Edit: hey you're gone o.O
Edit: and now you're back
-
No Iris, I'm still online....! It says you're offline though....
-
No Iris, I'm still online....! It says you're offline though....
Noooo You're offline xD
-
Iris, for Pete's sake.... I know I'm connected, okay? I can talk to DarkHououmon fine... ...Something must be blocking our connection.....
EDIT: Oops, didn't see the xD! Good one...
-
Sure :^.^:
Ahhhh stupid phone keeps on ringing.. this is not my house :p .. aw
Will talk to you when possible
-
Okey dokey.....
EDIT: Can you reboot, maybe? Perhaps that's the problem....
-
seriously.... :p I hate msn when it does this! I'll try, btw :)
YaaY stupid msn works again
*bows*
-
Remember Iris: when in doubt, reboot!
-
I didn't actually reboot.. but now i'm having thesame problem again :p So I think I might as well do it.
-
Very beautiful work Iris :)
In which way did you try to thicken the lines through photoshop?
I have repeatedly used the stamp tool to do so. With the right setting of the light / dark balance and smoothness the results are quite satisfactory that way, even though sometimes some narrow edges and details (e.g. fingers or any parts where two lines form an acute angle) become a bit blurred and need to be corrected (if any artist therefore knows a better way to thicken the lines with photoshop I would be very grateful to know about it :yes).
-
heh. i just find edges.. not really cool buthey you could harldy see anything with jsut the pencil..
Thanks malte.
-
Nice drawing. I hope you will continue drawing in the future.
-
Well.. He asked me to do so, so I will.
Edwin, a boy a met 2 years ago on holidays, who is 12 years old, almost 13. 12 days to go for his birthday haha. He drew Ducky for me, because he felt that i trusted him completely. and because he was honored by that. Edwin asked me to upload his ducky drawing.. I think he wanted me to upload it in this topic because this is the only topic he knows( I show it to him quite often)
So.. here is his ducky.. haha
(http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll44/gofmumbling/Scannen0002.jpg)
O yea.. he also drew a dragon for me.. because I asked him for that.. How sweet :^.^:
-
These are great, Mumbling! I was wondering, though, if you could do a drawing of Ducky in a flight suit. Serris gave me the idea, and, well, I thought it might look cool... :D
-
Your friend draws very well. :yes I guess the 2 of you could inspire each other and give each other tips.
-
Hmm. A flight suit you say. Hehe if you could give me a good picture of which flightsuite etc, I could try!
-
A very good drawing :yes
This is a very popular posture of Ducky.
Do you think that Edwin might want to join us, or is he not much into LBT?
-
Well I asked him before.. He thinks of joining, but isn't sure yet because his time on the computer is quite limited.
I think we'll see him sooner then we expect though.
He liked lbt as a kid.. hmm.. He loves dinosaurs and dragons.. well.. yea.. he's quite into lbt because of me :p
-
RAAAWRR Here is my final. I colored it with photoshop. Will also be coloring with pencils and put that one online as well :) I think it turned out well!
-
  *double take* Ladies and gentlemen, we have ourselves a good artist, here! For your first time drawing Littlefoot, wow! That's better than I could probably do, Mumbling! *two thumbs WAY up* Awesome! :wow :lol :) :D  ;) :wave :yes
-
Actually.. first time for everyone EXCEPT Ducky and Petrie :p
Thanks Aaron.. :^.^:
Edit: But those two came out worst >.<
-
Actually.. first time for everyone EXCEPT Ducky and Petrie :p
Thanks Aaron.. :^.^:
Oh, really? Hmm, wowzuh!
Edit: But those two came out worst >.<
Can one really define "perfection," Iris? What is perfection? Perfection means nothing, at least not to me. That's one thing that Jazz taught me miss: perfection is OUT, improvisation is IN!
-
Yea... You're right :^.^:
-
I like the picture. Instead of saying how certain characters came out bad, I'd say try a more positive approach and mind set. Maybe something like I did this right concerning the characters, and I need to improve this and this concerning this character, instead of saying I did x character badly, came our worst, ect.
-
Yes.. You're right Kor^^
-
Hey. I was thinking something like this:
http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Image:LukePilot-OP.jpg (http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Image:LukePilot-OP.jpg)
-
Ahh.. mister skywalkers suit.. Well.. could try it of course :)
-
nice drawing and nice coloring too!
-
Hey now, I have been gone for just 4 days and I see this!?
WOW! Someone has been improving with lightning speed! :)
Very, very nice looking drawings Iris!
I got the word from you that you were drawing Cera, but all this?
Awsome!
My favorite is your latest, of the whole gang + Ali! Looks great! :^.^:
Keep up the amazing work!
/Lillefot
-
Shhh :P: I was drawing Cera but had so much space left I decided to draw the others haha.
Thank youu :)
-
well it worked out good so it doesnt matter :D
i really like it :yes
-
Did you have fun drawing all those figures?
-
Yes I sure did!
-
That is good to hear, at least it wasn't seen as a chore. Most drawing should be fun, if possible, I think.
-
Created a new drawing today.
Guido's Goodbye
(http://fc07.deviantart.com/fs28/i/2008/168/8/e/Guido__s_goodbye___pencil_by_MumbletotheSky.jpg)
Also going to color it with photoshop.
-
And the photoshop colored one:
Guido's Goodbye(Photoshop)

Aplause!
Wow, that Guido looks superb! Very good work indeed! :yes
Keep it up Iris!
-
Aplause!
Wow, that Guido looks superb! Very good work indeed! :yes
Keep it up Iris!
Thanks Gustav :^.^: :yes
-
Oh my god, that is so touching! So... Sad, too.....
-
Awesome :yes
Do you too like the LBT goodbye scenes Iris? Many of them are among my favorite LBT scenes. I guess I have a fondness for sentimental scenes and they are usually accompanied by beautiful music.
Anyway, the drawing is really pretty. I like the effect you created in the pencil version by letting the background's strokes all run towards one point somewhere behind Guido's back. Nice butterfly too (though it might want to be careful not to come too close to Guido's mouth :lol).
Is it a freehand drawing or was there a similar image in the movie?
-
Yes I like the goodbye scenes, they are touching. Freehand actually.. I did have Guido in front of me, but just to know the basics. Yea, I tried to make it have a sort of time-effect in the pencil drawing. And same thing with the photoshop one..
The butterfly, it's gonna be my mark.. :^.^:
-
You did Guido well. A very touching scene with the expression on his face and his waving to someone. Hope you continue drawing.
-
Oh boy!
What a nice looking Guido! You did a very good job Iris! :^.^:
It's sure is emotional!
-
Oh boy!
What a nice looking Guido! You did a very good job Iris! :^.^:
It's sure is emotional!
Lal.. Sorry my mistake.. You actually did see it :wow
*hides*
I gave my original Guido drawing to Fereshta(Orchid141 on this forum) Because we won't see eachother for 8 weeks -_- .. She loved it :^.^:
-
My finished schoolexcersice. I got an 6,7.
Made 2 drawings after all. I don't really like em to be honest.
Here they are anyway.
Hmm.. Also making a drawing of Clubtail.
-
They are very nice, Iris, they really are, yep yep yep! :yes
Amazing that you've made them using (now I don't recall the english word for it :P: ) "oil/wet/aquarell colors to make it. I would not be able to do that myself!
Good work! :^.^:
-
I forgot to say that the big one was too big for my scanner so I made 2 scans and 'fit' them together :p
-
i like it,
-
Nice work Iris! :)
Just as in case with any other form of art practice will before long make you like your own work too. What colors did you use? Acryl colors? It would be awesome to have another artist working with acryl colors here (and you are in a good position to work with acryl colors. They are quite cheap in Holland, at least compared to the German prices).
-
Acryl colors?
THAT's the word I was looking for! Thank you Malte!
-
I like the painting. Interesting doing it as a painting instead of a drawing. Which do you prefer, to paint or draw?
-
Draw.. Painting is SUCH A MESS. lol. Yes acryl colors indeed. But it was at school only i fear. I could go on with it, but then someone has to GIVE me the stuff, cus I won't buy em myself(want to save money for later).
-
In case of LBT motives painting is more difficult and more complex, but a painting can be much more "rewarding" than a drawing.
Would we remember Rembrandt if he had used the pencil only instead of the brush?
-
Would we remember Rembrandt if he had used the pencil only instead of the brush?
Can you tell? :lol
Maybe we would. some people make incredible pencil drawings haha.
I might of course, try painting other things as well. If I do, I'll show you first Malte.. ok? :^.^:
-
Good luck on whatever you choose to do and on future drawings.
-
Wow, Iris,... that¥s awesome. :o
-
Totally, Iris. Those aren't bad at all! ...Why put yourself down so much, sis? You're drawing and painting LBT stuff better than I can!
Seriously, though. Good job! Keep drawing. I'd rather draw myself... That reminds me... Perhaps I should ehh, resume, my drawing... It's been about a week since I touched it. LOL, on a side note, you ARE a fireball at this place! ...I'm kinda burned out, to be honest with you.
...Heh... For a time, we had the same number of posts... B) *musing*
Keep going, Iris! Keep going!
-
There we go.
Angry mister clubtail
(http://fc05.deviantart.com/fs27/i/2008/172/b/8/Angry_Mister_Clubtail_by_MumbletotheSky.jpg)
:^.^:
-
Hello:
Angry indeed, I would keep a safe distance :DD .
I always liked this kind of dinosaur (not my absolute favourite) but it is nice how armored they are, like if they are very hard to make any harm for a Sharptooth.
Nice pic, it really shows he is up to something.
-
Nice drawing.
It looks like he may be verbally chewing someone out.
-
Way to go Iris! Very nice, it's the first clubtail I've seen around here!
Good work! :^.^:
-
I knew it you could do it. See, your frustration at the end turns into something good. Nice drawing, keep it up. Nice to see you are improving, feel proud of that.. I am ^^
-
I am proud, littlefoot.. Very proud. Thank you so much, all of you :^.^:
-
like it,
-
Oh, and Iris? I know I told you on MSN, but, forgot to post it here... That's AWESOME! You're getting SO good! :D
-
Excellent work with the shadowing Iris! Just how did you manage to get it that smooth on the back of the clubtail?
-
Malte, I used a bigger brush :^.^: Thanks everyone. I don't know what's next. maybe ducky in a flying suit after all? :^.^:
-
good work Iris :yes You are becoming better from time to time. :) . Can¥t wait to see more pictures from you
-
Haha, the more I look at your drawings the more I realize I can't draw! :p
I love the colours on Mr. Clubtail; so true to him!
Maybe I should give him back that treestar...:D
-

Heehee,, you draw like my first drawing heh? :lol
And, I think you'd better hide for a few more days. Clubtail is still a bit angry.. :^.^:
-
Heehee,, you draw like my first drawing heh?
Let's just say that drawing...isn't my specialty!
And, I think you'd better hide for a few more days. Clubtail is still a bit angry..
*worries that Clubtail may not like the treestar, now that it's going brown and extra crispy* :p
*goes looking for a replacement treestar*
-
good job on the art work. They look nice.
-
thanks :)
-
you are welcome and thank you for showing us your cool pictures. :)
-
....Almost makes me wanna pick up my pencil again... -_- Seriously though, that's some great stuff, Iris....
-
Just almost Aaron? Why not do it? :)
It sure would be welcome :yes
-
If you want to draw why not give it a try?
-
Just almost Aaron? Why not do it? :)
It sure would be welcome :yes
AHA! Iris TOLD me you guys wanted me to give it a shot again! :lol Wow... You guys are a really swell bunch of folks, you know that? Heh... That's all I needed, was a little booster... (I didn't know that ya posted because I didn't log onto the forum today; only talked with Iris about this on MSN, so I wasn't sure...) Thank you so much! Now...
*Respectfully leaves Iris' artwork thread, until he's called back for another thumbs up, on one of her pieces...*
-
hey mumbling love your artwork!!! :DD
-
thx steven. I fear there will be no upcoming drawings within 2 weeks, working on something special:).
-
No hurry, best to wait till you have plenty of time instead of rushing things.
-
thx steven. I fear there will be no upcoming drawings within 2 weeks, working on something special:).
ooo, can't wait, hope you do good!!! :DD
-
I fear there will be no upcoming drawings within 2 weeks, working on something special:).
No trouble, Mumbling! I'm sure this 'something special' will be worth it! :) :D
-
I fear there will be no upcoming drawings within 2 weeks, working on something special:).
No trouble, Mumbling! I'm sure this 'something special' will be worth it! :) :D
yep you right about that! :DD
-
Me too. :yes
-
oh you have great talent!
I don't even know how to draw any of them...LoL...
This is amazing though!
Great Job!
-
Heh, it takes a lot of practice. I bet everyone can if they try hard :) .
Thanks :). I'll pick up drawing lbt drawings soon again :)
-
In my last post I said I would draw lbt things soon again. It seems that I have not totally made that promise true. In the time I did draw, mainly pokemon stuff and special projects.
So far I'm reall proud of this one.. :
http://mumbletothesky.deviantart.com/art/D...dreams-95028361 (http://mumbletothesky.deviantart.com/art/Darkrai-s-bad-dreams-95028361)
But I think I'll pick up lbt drawings in 10 days or so again :) Around when school starts. Just to let you know... ;)
-
Nice drawing. Reminds me a bit of one of the Nazgul in lord of the rings for some reason.
Don't try to pressure or force yourself to draw, you'll be happier with your drawing if you do it at your own pace.
-
:) yea
It does remind you of nazgul..? Well maybe because it's dark and is a bit ragged :p
-
The pokemon turned out really nice! :D Good luck in your contest, Iris. :) :wow
-
Thanks, I hope they accept my entry :)
-
Finally!
( http://mumbletothesky.deviantart.com/art/L...is-own-95987439 (http://mumbletothesky.deviantart.com/art/Littlefoot-on-his-own-95987439) , for those who want to comment on deviantart.)
Heh, just random ;)
-
Heh, sorry I haven't been on GOF much these days... :p ...But WOW, Iris! :o That looks um, wow, really good... I'm not kidding, you're getting GOOD at this! :D
-
iris, you did it again!xD
-
Oops I did it again *sings* xD
-
Nice drawing. Looks like he's going to push the rock on top of a sharptooth, to knock it out I'd guess.
-
It reminds me of the original movies final fight with the sharptooth just with the others absent and Littlefoot taking the role of Cera. I like the shading and the overall style of the picture (the grim look of the Sharptooth in particular).
As for (hopefully) constructive criticism, I think that one would still see a bit more of Littlefoot's long neck even if it is somewhat compressed by his head charge I reckon it would still be visible (just a suggestion though).
-
It is good.
-
Okay that's pretty cool. :D
I like how you put the shadow on there for Littlefoot, both on the ground and on the rock. It brings a bit more focus to him.
You have a very unique style in your drawings! :) Hehe, if ya look at it right, it looks like the sharptooth is flying or pedalling or something! :P: either that or sharptooth has veery long legs! :D Actually, it works. :p
Ideally for consistancy the rock maybe ought to be casting a shadow too, but honestly, for what you're doing with this picture, it works just the way it is too!
-
Haha! Thanks guys :^.^:
Yes, I had noticed about littlefoot's neck. Should've payed more attention to that part.
As well as the flying sharptooth.. I already told these points to aaron, I think. Yes, I noticed them myself too. But I was a bit too lazy to change everything again. :p Probably I should focus a bit more.
Malte, the idea was 'stolen' from the original movie. I had just seen it and loved that scene so much that I decided to remake it, somehow.
mm.. I think I forgot to color the sharptooth's nails .. xD
-
Maybe someone can request something? I'm Soooo out of ideas.
-
How about a picture of the whole gang looking embarrassed (perhaps they just have to admit some kind of mischief to one of the grownups or the like)?
-
Hehe yea, I'll try something like that :^.^: Cool
In the mean time, I have decorated my dutch school book :p
(http://fc07.deviantart.com/fs36/i/2008/243/d/8/My_Schoolbook___Dutch_by_MumbletotheSky.jpg)
-
Lovely! :yes
Did anyone at school say anything about it?
-
hehe! that is from dutch ground! mighty!
school hasn't begun here, just in 2 days,
-
Hah, what kjeld said, school hasn't started yet. It starts on tuesday for me. I want to do a similar thing to my other books, but haven't had the time yet.
Thank you
I will tell you guys when people at school talk about it. I'll get a whole new class so people hardly know me at all, wonder how they're going to respond :p
-
It is a very cute looking character and good artwork.
-
Thank you Kor :)
-
Heh, another book of mine
(http://fc04.deviantart.com/fs37/i/2008/245/e/a/My_schoolbook___Maths_by_MumbletotheSky.jpg)
Lol ruby countin on her fingers, it's maths :p
-
That is a nice drawing, thanks for showing it here.
-
thanks
-
Very nice :yes
What does Wiskunde mean?
-
Mathematics, I guess ;)
And here is biology, futuring chomper.
Lol jasmijn is so gonna kill me for she dislikes lbt :p
-
Let them say what they want!
It's goooooood! :yes
I like your reference to school in these pictures!
Mr. Thicknose: "Any questions?"
Chomper: "Umm..."
Good work!
-
I try to do that indeed. Ruby counting on her fingers.. And as I've been born dutch, I wanted justborn littlefoot to be on my dutchbook.
Thank you :)
-
That¥s awesome Iris. O.o I wish I could draw expressions like this. Lol
-
Very good drawings on your book covers. When I was in school way back I'd just use brown paper sacks. Which I could doodle on or write down home work assignments, and cross out once they were done. When it got full time to put on a new one.
-
Thanks hehe
-
(http://fc01.deviantart.com/fs37/i/2008/250/5/f/Scared_Diceratops_by_MumbletotheSky.jpg)
There we go.
Random Character :D
Back to maths....
-_- :P:
And with this drawing, I discovered that I can't draw sharpteeth :D
-
B) is all i have to say,
-
;)
-
Well, we never got the chance to talk about this; good work, Iris... :) Good work...
-
Nice drawing. Is it based on an actual type or species of dino, or did you make up this type?
-
Good work, its good
-
That¥s great. Really. I like the sand hills you did in the background. Did you use normal light and burn tools?
-
Very, very well done indeed :)
-
That¥s great. Really. I like the sand hills you did in the background. Did you use normal light and burn tools?
Yes this time I just used normal shading tools.
I didn't want to put too much details in it.
And thank you.
I have also made petrie and spike today, I will post pictures of them later.
-
Nice drawing. Is it based on an actual type or species of dino, or did you make up this type?
I'm not sure.. Actually it's based on a 3d thing I have seen here (http://paleoguy.deviantart.com/art/Diceratops-Tyrannosaurs-96960270)...
-
I think the character may be inspired by one from the Disney movie Dinosaur. Of course that deviantart picture is not a screenshot, but there is a scene in the movie with a dinosaur with almost exactly the same posture and expression.
-
I have seen that movie just today. And I know you're right :p
-
Heh I've been drawing a bit more...
One of petrie, I did spike in same method. I want to have all characters of lbt on my wall like this:
And today I have to enter an art file on school, didn't include any image until the last minute, which was a drawing on chomper..(got an argument with Jasmijn for that.. sigh)
Sorry for moving quality, blame my unstable hand and not autofocussing cell phone
(http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll44/gofmumbling/SP_A0518.jpg)
-
Nice drawings. Looks like you have some developed skill. Hopefully you'll continue.
-
An argument? Why? :(
Nice drawings :)
Perhaps the torso of Petrie is a bit out of proportion, but in my opinion he is one of the most tricky LBT characters to draw.
-
Hmm well she hates lbt... And she hates basically everything I like and so I felt not so happy with her. She kinda ignored me rest of the day, so not really an argument, but nothing really nice either.
Thanks guys
-
this makes life beutifull!
-
It can be hard when a friend, best friend, sister(dunno) hates something that is a part of us, and when it hates almost everything you like well...
Hope I¥m not disrespecting you...
I really like the Petrie drawing, good work. :^.^:
-
Heh.. She's not my sister, no... I don't have any sis, just two brothers.
Best friend, friend, I'm not sure what to call her right now...
But you're right.. The only thing we ever had in common was liking thesame guy.. Which ended pretty soon :p For the rest... Well I think she just can't see through others eyes so well..
Don't worry, you won't see me offended soon... Or you must have done something very wrong :p Or... talk behind my back about me, I just don't like that. You don't disrespect me, honestly.. :)
Thanks for comment on petrie :)
-
Well, I hope you two can solve that problem
-
Thanks, but I can live without her. I know that might sound a bit rude, but at this moment I can't really live with her...
We'll see
:yes
-
Hmm well she hates lbt... And she hates basically everything I like and so I felt not so happy with her.
Whoa! No intention to offend ya, but how could someone like that even be considered a friend? It sounds just like the comeback statement, "Who needs enemies when I have friends like you?" <_<. You're a very pleasant person who does not deserve to be around folks who mistreat and despise ya. In your case, I could not fathom why anyone would feel such animosity toward someone like yourself. Feeling for the same guy? Hmm...sounds like that gave her ammo to be meaner to ya, but I betcha internally she's jealous and insecure. Hang in there Mumbling :^.^:.
I'm not certain if I've previously commented on your drawings and apologize if I have not done so :slap. They're really good :yes. Keep 'em coming!
-
Well.. :p We actually did share thesame sense of humor I guess.. The first time we talked people thought we had been friends for ages...
I'm not sure what happened. Probably we both grew up in our own way..
-
It could be that you just drifted apart over time as the differences added up.
-
Maibe she got new friends, and well...she thinks she doesn¥t need you anymore...
It¥s strange for a people to change like that, I guess everyone has its own being him/her self.
But friends don¥t do that to other friends,.
She could be mad at something and she could be unloading her anger on you.
Hang in there :^.^:
-
Hey, so getting back on topic.. :D :yes
I've talked a little bit with ya on MSN about these drawings but I know it's always nice to see a comment on the forum to sooo... B)
Random Character! haha I still find it amazing how someone can just whip that out in between homework :p I'd be struggling for a full day to do something like that, I'll bet! :P: For being just a quick shading job, it turned out very nicely. With more time spent on it, random dino would look very nice indeed. After all, the talent is there!
Haha Petrie! :p Petrie like, Ooooo! Shiny! :P:  I love the wide eyes, the turned head...Don't know why but he looks like he's wearing a sweater or jacket or something! :p
And Chomper, I gotta say, that's cute. :) :D
"Mommy, is it...safe to eat that green stuff on the tree..?" :p
or maybe even
"Hey look everyone! Look at me..whooaaaa me falling! :o " :p :p
Maybe Chomper's left leg is a little fat but really, you captured his shape very nicely...and the big eyes are awesome! :D
-
Thhaank yoou..
Heh.. I cant really draw characters when I have to draw them at random times when I have no idea of what they look like..
Somehow I keep on forgetting how to draw each body of the dinosaurs, I really need something in front of me. But I guess Petrie & Chomper are more or less okay. Chomper looks a bit more babyish if you ask me :p
-
That could be one of the styles of your drawing, needing something in front of you.
-
Hello:
That may be so, specially since the LBT characters may have many details to consider in each drawing. But they do look good, keep it up Mumbling!
-
(http://fc01.deviantart.com/fs37/i/2008/265/f/c/Ducky___Chomper_Sunset_by_MumbletotheSky.jpg)
Based on the screenshot I've got as my msn display... Made pic with mobile phone as scanner was waay too light to show the shading.
I'm not gonna color this one. It's pretty the way it is and deserves a spot on my drawing wall.
Now.. Back to Astronomy, English and French :bang
-
A very emotional scene Iris. My compliment :-) I love this piece. :)
-
Thanks :^.^:
-
Wow, Iris, that looks really good... You're getting much better at this! ;) ....Really, wow.... That's really something... :)
-
I've had some inspiration ;) Thank you
-
Aye, this is really lovely! :yes
I truly like the expressions a lot.
Ducky seems to feel much more comfortable about hugging Chomper than she did about being hugged by Chomper in one of my pictures
-
That is a very good drawing. It reminds me of the Escape From the Mysterious Beyond tv episode.
-
Hello:
I liked that pic very much, it is very well drawn as you can see in their facial expressions and poses. Not to mention very cool how Ducky does no longer look nervous with Chomper :DD .
Keep it up!
-
Ducky seems to feel much more comfortable about hugging Chomper than she did about being hugged by Chomper in one of my pictures
I remember that one :lol
Thanks guys :D I love it too, myself. And that says something.. :p
*looks at it and dreams away*
-
Digitally colored:
-
Nice picture and well colored.
-
Yeah, wow.. I'd have to agree. Amazing picture, Iris... :^.^: It looks even better with the shading now... :^.^:
-
Awesomeness!
I like the way you did Chomper's eyes leaving nothing totally white but the light reflection and using a slightly different shade of green for Ducky's closed eyelids than for the surrounding face :yes
One point of hopefully constructive criticism which I failed to mention before are a few minor details. Chomper's feet seem a little disproportionate (a little to small I think) and there is kind of a groove between Ducky's back and tail where it might look better if it was a straighter line or another of her "spine bumps". Just suggestions though. I love the picture :yes
-
the eyes of chomper are a little big but he is good to my opinion, :)
-
Malte, I didnt notice his feet were too small. Of course I havent seen chomper much either (as lbt 2 and 5 are not my favs and I dont have any tv series around).. But if it is I'll need to work on that.
I had noticed Duckies back though. Tried on making it different but couldnt really get that bend out :p
Kjeldo, big eyes? Me looove big eyes, they're cute! :D
Indeed it looks better with the shading, Aaron :). Though even that is a point I will have to work on.
Thank you Kor. :)
Thing is I'd love to have some effect of the sunshine on their bodies. Like a bit of a glow, but I really have no idea how to do that. Will try to figure out later today.
-
You've been doing pretty good so far. If you use screenshots for reference, which I assume you do, you can also ask some of the other artists here for tips if you have problems with certain things. That may help.
-
Sometimes I do indeed. This time I Did too from a very small screenshot, edited some thing though.
-
What sort of screenshot?
-
Eh.. any.. Sometimes I need screenshot just to see the bodylengths and such sometimes for a pose. Most of the time I randomly pick one when I've decided what I want to draw. This time it was the other way around (I had a screenshot and wanted to draw it) but that's okay.
This small screenshot I Was talking about was taken from the tv episodes with bad quality and small screen and such :p
-
Hello:
It is indeed very good, both of them look cute... well, maybe the pic is not perfefct, but you are sure imrpoving, and that's awesome. Keep it up!
-
hehe Well what more can me say than what we said over MSN? :D
I love the sunset in the background; it brings such a peaceful atmosphere to the scene..:)
-
I love that kind of pictures (fanart, in this case). It's one of my favorite types of images. Really well drawn.
-
Thanks you :^.^:
-
Already saw it on DA. Very nice work. ;)
-
Very lovely Iris. With colours it¥s even better :-)
-
:D
-
Fantastic.
The colours are great.
This may sound weird but what I liked most was the smile, the way Chomper is smiling at Ducky, a sweet, soft smile :^.^:
And like action9000 said, the sunset brings a peaceful atmosphere to the scene. :yes
One of my favourites this one, good work Iris :^.^:
-
Thank you Vaan, I like it very much as well.. :)
-
This is my DA ID
(http://fc00.deviantart.com/fs36/f/2008/268/b/7/My_ID_by_MumbletotheSky.jpg)
My element.. Fire
With ducky showing that I can be afraid too.
Houndour showing my bravery.
Lion showing my dark side.
Fake houndour, shaded lion, how lazy can one be :p O well :D
-
Muahaha! I like the lava effect thingy you pulled off in the background. :yes Haha very cool! :D
Nike shoes, anyone? :p
-
xD me got nikes! :p me wear sport shoes most of time as they are far more comfortable than 'female' shoes xD
-
fiery! :)
-
**Sport shoes rocks** :p
nice
-
Aww... :^.^: Nice, Iris... :) And that's cool you've got sport shoes! ;) Yes, they are much more comfortable and offer greater support than the typical shoes.. :P: *didn't know they even had Nikes in the Netherlands* But as you'd told me, they have everything there... Hmm... :p *likes his velcro shoes*
-
Nice picture. Interesting symbols you put in there. Great that you found comfortable shoes, some folks do not have such luck and have to wear shoes that are not very comfortable, or think they have to or have little choice.
-
Nice pic, Mumbling :yes! Ducky is so cute in this pic. Then again, she's sweet and cute already . Great job :^.^:.
-
Thank you all :)
We certainly don't have *everything* here aaron. But when it comes to certain brands, sure we have some :)
-
Ah, true that... :p
-
I absolutly LOVE the fire effect behind you...and the Houndour actually looks pretty realistic to me! I wish i could paint like that in Photoshop. :yes
-
Yea he looks kinda cool but it isn't my own one. This is how he standard looks on all the pictures you'll find more or less :p
Thank you though :)
I'm still waiting for the day I'm not too lazy to create my own brushes.
-
Making your own brushes? That sounds complicated, though I guess the old time painters had to do that. I know they would mix their own paints.
-
I meant with photoshop.. What I was trying to say is that it's not completely my own creation and therefor I'm not too proud of it.
-
But even so you should be proud, even if it isn¥t 100% of your creation, you made it at your own style, and it¥s good :yes
-
Thats true Vaan.
These are great, Mumbling! I was wondering, though, if you could do a drawing of Ducky in a flight suit. Serris gave me the idea, and, well, I thought it might look cool... :D
Here is a finished very old request from our jedi.
Ducky in a flight suit :D
-
Who needs helmets in space anyway? :D
Seriously, that's pretty cool. :P:  B)
she just like, hmm, what is that over there, huh? :P:
-
she just like, hmm, what is that over there, huh?
Maybe she lost her helmet ? :p
Thanks
-
...Cool, Iris...
-
Hey! Sorry I'm replying so late. I've been more than a little sidetracked.
That is one amazing picture! To be honest, I didn't actually think you'd do it, but you really pulled it off! Great work!
-
Nice picture. Ducky looks really cute in the picture. :yes
-
Glad ya like it Jedi! And thanks Kor, she does. Thanks Aaron :)
-
reminds me of 60's
-
It does ? :p I thought ya were born in the 90's :D
Take it as a compliment though, thanks :D
-
The first swimmer on the moon in a flight suit without a helmet?
Now that¥s new :lol
Good draw, it¥s very cool :D
-
It does ? :p I thought ya were born in the 90's :D
Take it as a compliment though, thanks :D
it makes me think about the 60's because the first moon landing,
-
Saw it on DA earlier. =D
And coming with the same answer: Great job!
-
It cool! Well drawn and smooth drawing application!
-
Thanks guys :^.^:
Yea kjeldo, was just kiddin ya :p
-
i know, (or not  )
-
It's been a while over here too... Can't say I got a great LBT-related drawing done of lately. Just a dinosaur. Why? I'm kind of busy with school, and another drawing project. My body is also not feeling quite right these days. The cold outside makes me nausious and I've also got a cold. I wake up waay too early and am really tired. Guess I could post the dinosaur up though.
-
Great work on the head and the face in particular. You did really well about the rim of the frill :yes
As for hopefully constructive criticism I think the drawing could be improved further if you add some lines to the legs of the dinosaur (the hindleg doesn't really stand out from the body). Another minor improvement might possibly be achieved if you place the bottom of the horn (where it makes contact with the face) a bit lower rather than directly on the outlines.
-

Oh yes. The legs aren't quite right and I knew that. But I guess they would do for a quick drawing to show if I can or cannot draw this way :p I agree with you on the horns though. :yes
Here's the head... Took more care of it now.

"Lava" :angel
I'm trying to decide if he looks bored, mean (with the eye) or some lady dino just caught his eye across the meadow. :p
Cool little dino, Mumbling! *waits for his mouth to open wide and drop his grass :p*
-

Lol lava. I guess it kinda mean.. He wishes to say..... My grass! :anger :smile
-
That's cool, Iris. :) Really. :)
-
Nice picture, well done.
-
Thanks all of you :)
-
Hello:
I like the pic, it looks like those pictures you can see of actual wild life :DD .
I hope you'll get to feel better soon!

Thank you.. :)
-
Nice job.
-
Thanks
-
Yay... Okay I still can't really draw but I found an old sketch in my sketchbook from 16 March 2009(anyone who was there with me? I can't remember drawing it!)
Anyway, here is it!

-
Cute, and a scene from the first LBT movie. Nice drawing.
-
Thanks Kor! :) It's a really weird colouring style but I guess it suits the drawing.
-
I love that scene and so I do this picture ;)
-
NICE!
-
Thanks, both of you! :)
-
Hello:
I always remember this scene. Cute representation of it :DD .
-
Thanks so much Chile! :)
-
Hello:
You are welcome, and keep it up!
-
It's about time I made something...
I decided to work on something for the land before time fanart club on DA... Namely an ID for contest #1.
Here's the work so far!:
-
Okay, that's officially cute! :D :oops
Like they're all saying hi for the first time!
-
I like this Picture.
-
Thanks guys!
I edited this topic a bit, many pictures were missing because apparently DA has been messing around with my pictures on their servers... They work now again though!
-
Gha! The cuteness! :o
Beautiful picture Iris, truly! :yes
-
Very cute indeed. :D
To bad they didn't show how Petrie hatched from his egg... =/
-
Aww, that's a very cute picture! They all look so sweet and innocent :smile.
-
Very cute indeed. :D
To bad they didn't show how Petrie hatched from his egg... =/
I have a picture of petrie hatching in a book of mine... However that wasn't cute at all! :p So I just thought I'd leave him out, for now anyway.
-
I think I have that one too Iris. It shows the bat version of Petrie looking like a flyer in retirement rather than a hatchling, doesn't it?
I will go for your really cute drawing at any time if I had to make a choice between such awfully bad official releases and such very good and cute drawings like the one above :yes
Maybe it is time for someone to draw a good image of Petrie's hatching.
-
I've just read through this whole thread, every page, every image, and all I can say is this:
You are a truly excellent artist. I'm loving every picture... particularly the last few. I wanna give those baby LBT characters a hug... :D
Keep drawing, keep painting, keep doing whatever you do, 'cause you're awesome at it. :smile
-
Aw Thanks SPR! I like the last couple I did better too, guess that is because I improved!
@Malte: Yea! Exactly! He doesn't look like a cute hatchling at all.
I could give it a try and add him to this drawing, but I'm not sure about that yet.
-
Naww, I wish I could see the picture from the book... or, is it really that bad? :lol
-
I'll take it for you... Just a second.
Edit: alright here ya go:
This is the one I have.
-
Ok, I think somethings not right about his eyes... or his beak...
Doesn't look like a hatchling at all. :p
-
Aye, same picture I was talking of. I really wonder who ever did that too Petrie:
"Ya know, I think that flyer should have thick rings below the eyes. An' also that beak ain't crooked enuf in de movies. Oh yeah, wouldn't it be cool to have some hairs on his neck and head? And really he should get bat wings rather than Pterosaurian wings, looks so much better!"
I mean gez what did that person smoke? And why wasn't he permitted to sobber out before anyone allowed him to impose that version of Petrie on the unsuspecting world?
-
Yea, indeed... Epic fail :p
-
This picture doesn¥t look like petrie.
Anytime I can make a better Picture. Or that do your mean?
-
Well you can give it a shot!
I'm gonna try one too, just so I can add it to this drawing.
-
I a tried a petrie hatchling, pretty much based on the picture we had. Don't like it too much though:
-
What's not to like?! He looks cute :smile Granted, the eyes are a little beady but it's a good effort all the same ;)
-
At least he looks more of a hatchling than the other picture. ^^
I might try it out too.
-
He looks cute and much more of a hatchling indeed.
-

It's done!
Somehow I'm not so satisfied with the result... Oh well.
-
It looks really great in color!
I think it looks just fine. ^^
-
Awww!
*Bear hugs each and every one of 'em :D*
-
I wish I was better with backgrounds really :p
Thanks both of you :D
-
Hello:
Those are very cute pics, maybe someday you'll be able to do some cute Sharpteeth too :DD , really, I remember those Fast-biters from one of the TV serie's chapters.
Well, keep it up!
-
The background does look a bit two-dimensional, but I think it’s pretty. :DD I especially like the light effect behind the mountain.
As for the characters themselves, they’re really good! :yes You did a great job of replicating their hatching poses. (Just curious; were you looking at frames from the movie when you drew these, or did you just do it from memory?)
-
If I would do them from memory I would forget a lot of details, so I looked at the movie screens when drawing them. :)
-
This picture is really cute :)
-
It really is :)
Very cute indeed :yes
-
With the picture of Aves I found and posted in his anniversary topic, I also found this petrie:
It's really an awesome petrie! :o
-
It really is awesome :yes! He looks so adorable :smile!

-
A very cute looking Cera.
-
So cute I could squeeze her, but she'd literally fall apart :lol.
-
That's great! :wow The colors are close to perfect, and the fine details like the eyes, nostrils, horn, ears, toes, and frill horns (epoccipitals) are incredible! The mouth and frill are a little small, but it's nonetheless an awesome clay figure! :yes Very cute, too. :DD
Any chance we can see her from the side, or even the back? (I don't suppose you included the ridge on her spine?) :)
-

I agree that the frills and the mouth are a little small. I have incidentally not put her second colour above her mouth either (it should have been there).
And sadly enough I forgot the spine on the back... I have put some dents in there, but nothing that can be seen on a picture. This is because I based her on one single picture I had with me from a VHS tape, on which the back was not visible.. So the back is not really interesting :p
-
Oh well. I'd still like to see a side view, if that's possible. :)
-
Still, very good work. Going to make more of Cera and or the other characters?
-
Iris, if you go to college and you don't take an Art Class in your first year, you'd better have a good explanation. Talent like yours must not be wasted. :)
Seriously, looking at how good you are at drawing, I'm jealous of you! :D
-
Oh well. I'd still like to see a side view, if that's possible. :)
(http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll44/gofmumbling/IMG_5162.jpg) There you go.
Kor, Yes I was planning on making the others as well. I'll see when I have the time.
John, I'm not going to take art class. I'm not good enough for that, they'll just laugh at me. Seriously, you should be way better to be good at art class.
Edit: I just lolled at the fact that the picture gives her a huge head :lol

Isn’t the purpose of an art class to develop and hone art skills? I’d say you definitely have something good to start with. :yes
P.S. Thanks for posting the new picture. :)
I love the new Spike. :DD That's a very cute sleeping pose. You even put little grooves on his eyelids to show that they're closed. :! And a notched spinal ridge, too! Even the ear holes look good.
A couple of things I did want to mention regarding his plates: first, one of them is almost two-dimensional, while most of the others are basically little globes clinging to his back; I think they'd look better if they were all little domes. Second, they're paired; Spike should have alternating plates (three/five on one side, two/three on another). I suppose when you're making such tiny models, it's difficult to get such details right. (I can't tell exactly how big they are, but judging by the size comparison to that moss in the second picture, Spike must be pretty small).
Again, great model! Can't wait to see more! :)
-

I'm sorry, but I have to disagree with that statement. Art is intended to allow an individual an outlet for SELF expression, not what everyone else wants them to do. There were numerous artists (Van Gogh for example) that did not see much success in what they loved doing most, and now they are known worldwide and their work can be found in displays allover.
BTW, Van Gogh's one of my favorite famous artists :smile.
Anyhoo, my point is that its okay to express yourself in art and not conform to others. If they laugh, just flip 'em the bird. They're not responsible for yur happiness ;).
Okay, now that I'm off my soapbox, Spike does look very cute :smile.

Yea, two of them flattened when I tried to put his head in the right position... I agree it would look better as little domes, but as you cleverly remarked that is quite hard for such tiny models :p The plates you see are mostly smaller than 2mm.
I did not know they were paired. I guess once again I should have had looked into more example pictures, do you think you can find a picture which shows this?
Personally I am not very satisfied with the colours, however now I know which colours to pick for the next time :)
@CT My elementary school was called Vincent van Gogh :P: I like his art too. However art is not my thing, maybe something related to it, but not art directly.
Thanks! :)
-
Oh these are wonderful. They are made from the clay craft that you received for your birthday?
Spike is my favourite. I love his sleeping pose, fantastic.
Also regarding art; if you want to take it as a course I think you should. Art is whatever you make it. There are no right or wrongs...you improve on skills, learn new ones and interpret how you want the art work to be. Now, not everyone is going to like your art but if it's something that you love doing, you should definetly look into it.
Anyway, even if art isn't ''your thing''...you can possibly still take it on as an ''extra'' in College. I don't know the procedure for colleges or universities in your country but where I'm going (university) I have to take ''extra'' course(s) to gain the credits that I'll require for passing the Hon. This can be on any subject. So again, might be worth looking into...
Again can't wait to see more. :)
-
Oh these are wonderful. They are made from the clay craft that you received for your birthday?
Yes.
Thank you :)
-
Hello:
Hey, they look very cute indeed. I look forward to see pics of the other characters... and I guess you'll be making Chomper and Ruby too?
-
Not sure about ruby yet, I just kind of made a chomper
I don't like it, at all, next to the colors. I had these two colors as a left over from other stuff, they were just sitting on my room and I'd play with them so now and then, only today I realised they were chomper's colors.
So anyway, here he is. Far from perfect, and I'll definitely be making a better one :D No critique needed, I know all the proportions are odd because it is so extremely tiny.

I did not know they were paired. I guess once again I should have had looked into more example pictures, do you think you can find a picture which shows this?
It’s very obvious in the scene in the first movie just after the gang have sighted the grove of trees from the mouth of a cave, and Ducky is urging Spike to run from the incoming herd of longnecks. I didn’t have a screenshot of that scene, so here’s a picture (http://i793.photobucket.com/albums/yy212/Flathead123/Untitled_Panorama1.jpg) from the production cels and drawings topic (http://www.gangoffive.net/index.php?topic=6755) that similarly showcases the positioning of Spike’s plates.
Spike has more than five plates, but the number (as well as the positioning) tends to vary based on the size and detail of Spike in any given scene. Sometimes the animators even mistakenly pair the plates. Also, in the first movie at least, the rows seem to be staggered in such a way that the plates appear to be paired from certain angles (In other words, they look like this ?. ?. ?. rather than like this ? . ? . ? .).
Personally I am not very satisfied with the colours, however now I know which colours to pick for the next time :)
I like the colors myself. Sure, they might be a little bright for Spike, but I think they're pretty. :p I'm very fond of that particular shade of green.
-
Ah, that clears it up, thank you! :)

hmm.. yeah..
The legs, always the legs!
Next littlefoot will be sitting or laying down :lol
-
Hello:
Well, there is always a tricky thing in anything we do :DD . But I must admit your work here looks very cute.
Maybe you can practice the legs in a separate model?, maybe you can get it to look the way you like the most and then you can use it as a pattern?
Keep it up!
-
Very cute. Looks like a young Littlefoot, a cute one. You going to focus on making more Littlefoots or eventually other characters eventually?
-
Wow, that’s nice! :! (That was my actual, softly voiced reaction when I first saw those pictures.) That’s a fantastic standing pose! Also, good job having his tail held off the ground. :yes And actually the legs aren’t half bad. Obviously the feet are a little big (Littlefoot’s toes don’t stick out that far), but it must not be easy to mold a tiny claw figure in a properly supported standing position. The main thing I would change is his mouth, which is very small and oddly shaped (Again, it’s an understandable flaw, considering the scale you’re working with). Also, he has no ears (though scientifically that’s not much of a mistake :p).
The eyes are really great! I didn’t mention this with the Cera model, but you do an amazing job putting all the details into the eyes: not just the whites and the pupils, but the irises and even the little reflections in the pupils. :wow (Considering the size of the models, I can’t imagine how tiny those must be. :o) And even though they’re a little bit uneven, I like the nostrils a lot, too. :yes
-
Your drawing and sculpting is just amazing. I am so jealous of the skill and talent you have. Seriously, you are really good at this.
-
Thank you. I like the eyes myself Pangaea! The white little reflection on littlefoot's eye is about half the size as the one on Cera :lol Take two hairs and put them next to each other, about that big.
This time I made a 'flat' Littlefoot. For your question Kor, I want to focus on other characters also, but I first want to get at least 1 Littlefoot right. Anyway, for this littlefoot I took pictures of the progress.

And the final product... Will be added tomorrow since it is too dark now to take a picture with some decent lighting :p
-
Thank you. I like the eyes myself Pangaea! The white little reflection on littlefoot's eye is about half the size as the one on Cera :lol Take two hairs and put them next to each other, about that big.
Whoa! Even tinier than I imagined! :wow
I love it that you’re showing us the steps in the process as you’re making one of these models. You should do this more often; it’s very interesting. :yes
The Littlefoot looks great so far! :yes That’s a really clever and well-thought-out way of putting the model together. You might want to make the smile a little wider, so that it extends all the way to the edges of the pale part of his face. Even if it’s too late to add any more red, you could maybe cut a curved slit up to the side of his cheek. Also, you might want to think about adjusting the right eyebrow (the viewer’s right) a little bit; it looks to have become a bit misshapen.
-
The eyebrow does not look as bad in real as on the picture :) It looks like it has been bend, indeed :p I agree that the mouth could have been wider. Next time I should ask for advice before baking it, haha.
-
From the process, it looks like Littlefoot was made from chocolate! Yummy! :)
-
Looks like Littlefoot has been playing in some mud. :p
-
Now you made me feel like eating chocolate, Pokeplayer ^^ By the way I do have a color called chocolate for my clay pieces but it was a littlebit too dark, therefore I choose the color hazelnut and merged it with Tan to get his color.
Here is the finished model. The picture was taken with a flash, so it is kind of reflecting. I have put a layer of varnish on it to finish the piece.
-
That looks like a very well done piece. Congradulations. Plan on making more? And if so of other characters or just Littlefoot?
-
This looks great! You’re right; the eyebrow is in much better shape than it looked in the other photo. :yes It doesn’t quite connect to the upper part of Littlefoot’s cheek as the other does, and there looks to be a bit of brown on the eye itself, but other than that, the model is incredibly symmetrical! And it doesn’t look overly two-dimensional, either; it’s just right! :DD It reminds me a lot of one of those promotional plastic spoons with cartoon characters’ heads on the end of the handles they used to distribute in cereal boxes. (Do they still do that?) Your clay Littlefoot would be a great model for one of those. :yes How big is it, by the way?
I guess Littlefoot can’t argue if Petrie decides to call him “Flathead” again! :p :lol
-
I guess Littlefoot can’t argue if Petrie decides to call him “Flathead” again! dino_tongue.gif dino_laugh.gif
lol!
From the top of the head to the bottom of the neck a bout 6cm, convert it for yourself :p
Yeah more people said it reminded them of a spoon ^^
-
I guess Littlefoot can’t argue if Petrie decides to call him “Flathead” again! :p :lol
lol!
Yeah, I'm pretty happy with that joke. :smile It's one of my better ones.
From the top of the head to the bottom of the neck a bout 6cm, convert it for yourself :p
Hmm . . . about 2.2 inches. :p (Wow! Somehow I imagined it as being about twice that size! :o In case I haven't stated the obvious already, you're really good with miniatures!)
So, what are you planning to make next? :) Are you going to show us the process again?
-
I have no idea what I want to make next. Probably petrie ;) Suggestions for him are welcome.
Sure I can show the progress again :)
-
Walking with dog is good, you find feathers.
-
Very cute indeed. Littlefoot hatching. Thanks for sharing. You are a creative person indeed.
-
How large is the feather?
Because the picture of Littlefoot looks incredibly detailed. :yes
-
Don't have a ruler laying around, but I assume the feathery part is 10 to 15 cm.
-
Wow. I don't think I've ever seen that kind of fanart before. :o
That's really good! Like Sky said, there's an impressive amount of detail to Littlefoot and his eggshell (I like that he's got a little piece of the shell balanced on his head :lol). I imagine it must be hard to paint on a feather, what with the vane being a textured surface, and the barbs separating if they are moved too much (with the tiny size of the pictureóaround an inch squared?óon top of that).
Are you planning to paint more feather paintings? (perhaps more pictures of the gang hatching)? :)
-
I'll say this now, "Your talent in Art is too good to waste! You must preserve it!"
Seriously, you are GOOD at this! I am jealous of you! I wish I had your talent. :)
-
I may do more feather paintings as I find more feathers :p
I imagine it must be hard to paint on a feather, what with the vane being a textured surface, and the barbs separating if they are moved too much
The textured surface part is indeed hard, you have to paint along with the lines. I first painted the white layer though, so the barbs would separate less easily.
-
I made a petrie, and decided to post here before baking it.

Fantastic artworks Mumbling, they are all very detailed...especially the one draw on the feather. It is nice to see a different media used, instead of paint and paper....it always amazes me how well some people can model images through modelling materials. ^^
I am not sure what they are fully called, but have you ever thought about using air pens?
-
Air pens? Don't worry about not knowing what they are called, I probably don't either :p
Post an image of what you mean ? :D
-
Doi....they are called blo pens...not air pens...sorry, my mistake. :bang
This link is from amazon. I think there are different varieties:
Blo pens (http://www.amazon.co.uk/Character-Options-super-Activity-colour/dp/B001B4PQJO/ref=pd_sim_k_h_b_cs_7)
We used to use them in art class, fun lesson, we would make stencils of what we wanted. I think I did a cat...and we would blow through the penand make the picture....it was fun to do...and what we needed was in the set that the school had purchased.
-
Hehe I've never seen that before, so never considered it, no :p
-
Ahah, nice !
But i think the wings are too low on the body, they should be just below the green thing at the base of the neck.
-
Very good looking Petrie. Did he take long to make?
-
Very good work again Iris :yes
There are a few points of constructive criticism left which I can offer.
Petrie's back is as dark brown as the rear-side of his wings is. If you used the same clay for the rear of his wings as for his back you could kill two Pterodactyls with one stone... (never mind, that idiom is really a brutal one :x). The color would be correct and also there would be no fissures on the rear of him. As for fissures in general, have you ever tried to close them with the tip of a toothpick as I suggested? It would be another case of two Pterodactyls... fed with the same treestar ;) It would close up the fissures and also make the figure less likely to break.
Finally, his eyes look really great and you also took the care to add the white reflection on the black of his eyes. But one more detail that could be added relatively easily would be the thin rim around his eyes.
-
I don't happen to have a toothpick, but I'll try something. Trying to make these without references, ya know :p Thank you about the back color and the rim around the eyes, I will fix that now.
Thanks Vek! I thought so too, so I'll fix that :)
Edit:
With higher wings and a more correct back & eyes:

Sorry for the reflection.. stupid camera.
2nd edit:
Less gaps ;)
-
Oh, darn. I hope I'm not too late to add my input.
The moment I saw this, I thought, "Whoa! That looks great!" So that's good news for you. :p If you've already baked it, it's still a good clay figure, but if you haven't, I do have some suggestions if you want to make it look even better.
The main thing I would change is those two little trailing flaps on either side of Petrie's tail. He doesn't really have those (There may be scenes in which he looks like he does, but I think they're just the lowermost edges of his wing membranes). If you wanted the figure to be REALLY accurate, you could make his wings wider, extending further down his sides, behind his legs, all the way to the base of his tail. Petrie's wing membranes extend all the way down the border between his brown back color and lighter belly color; in fact, you could say that his wings ARE the border.
Another issue is that we can't really tell how Petrie's head looks from the side in these pictures, but the lower part of his beak looks to be wider and less pointed than the upper. His crest may also be a bit lopsided. Finally, you could make his neck ruff look a bit puffier by adding more clay (At the moment it appears to be flush with his neck and shoulder area).
-
Honestly Pangaea, all those suggestions are very good, but hardly reachable if the clay figure is basically done. (unless I'd take it apart and start all over again). However these are very useful tips for a future petrie, which I'll sure take in mind.
those two little trailing flaps on either side of Petrie's tail.
I think those are cute, but I agree with you they may be his wing edges... oh well..
-
Sorry. :oops I sort of figured that the wings would be difficult to change, but I didn't know the same was true for the other parts at this point.
By the way, two things I forgot to mention this in my last post: First, thanks for showing us the process again. Not only is it interesting to see, but it helps indicate which parts of the model must be molded into their final designs at which stage. For instance, next time, maybe you could put the ruff around petrie's neck once his head is connected to his body, so that it doesn't get squished down as much.
Second, I didn't know you had little wire armatures inside these figures. :! They're more structurally detailed than I thought!
EDIT: Just noticed your new award banner. Great choice! That was my favorite of the Project banners. :lol
-
Yeah, I remember sending this image to malte to make it into a banner *muhahaha* had no idea I'd win it though.
The wires are new. Blame Malte's brilliant ideas :p
I must say that I probably wouldn't have been able to make the neck without these wires.

A drawing for once. Probably the last in a while unless someone commissions one again. This is for someone who calls himself Coaley, which is also one of the characters I had to draw. The characters are part of a fanfiction which has not yet been published.
I'm not very good with sharpteeth :oops
Coaley might ask me to change some colours, I have not yet talked to him about this.
-
And of course I should not forget about Malte's Birthday present:

^ I strongly suppose I messed up even that dictionary supported attempt at the French language, but from next week on I will attend courses to acquire at least a basic knowledge of French and Spanish. It would be really awesome if sometimes I could try to talk in one of the two languages to someone who knows them. Are you interested in Napoleon Vek?
Shorty Bonaparte holds a real place of honor in my collection. I really love the figure :yes

De rien! :D
*Trying to get her French as good as her English.. studying hard!*
-
Yup i speak french, more specificaly Quebec French (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Quebec_French). We have different accent, terms and expressions than European French, so i am probably not the best person for helping you
I am interessed in history in general, particulary the great empires and the great emperors. I dont know much about all the dates and names, but if i see a documentary about this on television or an article on internet i'll watch/read it whenever i can. The Byzantine Empire, Russian Empire and Roman Empire are my favorites subjects. The thing that attract me in an empire ( real or fictional ), its the high level of technology used, the mentality and the age. Byzantine Empire was a 1000 years old empire at his end, French Empire was like 10 years old at his end... I dont really like those kind of ephemeral empires and emperors.
An perfect exemple of civilisation ( fictionnal ) that i love: The Ancients in Stargate. A millions years old civilisation, highest technology, and a pacifist mentality.
----------
That's good, Mumbling !
Just a little detail:
Il habite ‡ Quebec
We could say this if i was living in Quebec City ( our capital ). But i don't, so when talking about the province of Quebec, we must say: Il habite au Quebec. That's how we make the difference and avoid to be confused.
" ‡ " is used when we talk about cities: Je vais ‡ Paris, je vais ‡ Berlin, je vais ‡ Washington... ( je vais ‡ = I go to )
" au " is used when we talk about country, region or province: Je vais au Japon, je vais au …tat-Unis, je vais au Canada...
But " au " is only used when we talk about country who have "male" name. For those one with "female" name, we say " en ": Je vais en France, je vais en Allemagne, je vais en Chine...
Phew, i am not a teacher, so it's hard to explain that with words, even more in english.
...Well, while playing to the teacher:
Tu ?™tre int?©ress?© par le empereur Napoleon Bonaparte?
Hum, if those strange sign mean; "Tu ’tre intËressÈ", then you talk like Petrie
Tu ’tre intËressÈ = You be interessed.
The correct sentence is: " Es-tu ( are you ) intËressÈ par l'Empereur NapolÈon Bonaparte ? "
tre / Be
Je suis - I am
Tu es - You are
Il est - He is
Nous sommes - We are
Vous ’tes - You are ( plurial or for expressed politeness; "Es-tu" is like you talk with a friend or someone you know very well. " tes-vous" is if you talk to a stranger or someone that deserve respect like your teacher or your boss. )
Ils sont - They are
For the l' instead of le before Emperor, i can't explain why, i just naturaly know it :/
-
I kind of realized that ‡ was wrong after I posted it.. But then I was wondering if it had to be 'au' or 'en' since I know it's 'en Canada' because Canada is female, and I have no idea whether the province used the same 'en' or if it had to be 'au'... so I left it unchanged :D
So Quebec is male? okay :D
-
'Sup old topic? How would you feel when I revived you, huh?
Ok so I decided to give the current Fanart prompt a shot with a movie poster. Attached!
-
whoa, I love it!
Don't want to draw posters for every movie? ;)
(and what is it yellow-orange-gray figure there?)
-
whoa, I love it!
Don't want to draw posters for every movie? ;)
Thanks! Haha, maybe, but this one I had the most inspiration for.
(and what is it yellow-orange-gray figure there?)
It is a revive (https://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Revive) from Pokémon! Just an attempt at being funny ;)
-
Right on! Good to see another person joining in on some of the prompts! :)littlefoot
I've mentioned it to you already but I love the inclusion of the logos at the bottom. Gives it a more authentic feel to it! You also seem to like to draw Guido :p
The drawing itself is nice and simple so I don't have too much to comment one. The gang and background look nice silhouetted and Guido looks good overall. I'm not sure if his belly is too fat or too long but it looks funny to me and maybe his head feathers could have been maybe thinner and more spread apart? They look a little stuck together.
It looks good though and I hope to see you join in on more of these prompts in the future! :DD
-
Oh, that is a pleasant surprise! :DD
Also might be the record for the earliest submission up to date haha. It's looking really nice! :)littlefoot
-
Yep, this is a really cool drawing. The idea is quite cool and the colors and the feeling of this picture are quite impressive. I also like the layout as it makes this look more poster-like. However, Guido looks a bit simple and I'd say his lower body and especially his legs are too thin. But other than that, nice job here. :)
-
Thanks for the feedback everyone! I'll see if I can fix Guido's body up a bit :)
-
Here is my submission for March/April: Love/Family
When thinking of Love and/or Family in the Land Before Time universe, I instantly go to Ducky's family. The love she shows for others has to come from somewhere, and I'm pretty sure her parents must've had a loving relationship as well. We do not see much of Ducky's father in the series, so I'd like to give him the spotlight too. With much love, just a night in the life of these two Bigmouths.
-
Now that I'm back home I should make a proper comment on this. It looks like you like your night scenes! :p
I'd say that this one looks a lot better though! Instead of a silhouette the background seems to have more complicated lighting with the presence of the moon.
Both of Ducky's parents look good as well and certainly fits the prompt as well! :)littlefoot
I'd say that the biggest thing that stands out is that Ducky's dad's neck or the mom's shoulders look a little off. Not sure how to put it, I guess the lines seem to have abrupt changes in direction?
Great job with this and I look forward to seeing more art from you in the future! :DD
-
Aww such a cute drawing! Nicely done :D
-
Well, the idea of the picture is quite heartwarming and it is executed decently and there seems to be a pretty good atmosphere too. The background also works but especially the male swimmer's face looks a bit deformed. Both of them could have been drawn better but overall, this is a pretty good picture.
-
I'm just going to intrude here to give my thoughts about your work, Mumbling. Hopefully you will go easy on me for being this late. You know what they say? Better late than never and I have become a master in that regard, apparently. :rolleyes
First of all, let's go over the poster. People here have expressed their feelings about it quite plenty and I find myself agreeing with them. When you look at the poster, it really feels like a real poster made by the Universal themselves. You wouldn't happen to be working there secretly? :OhYou The only nitpick I have about the poster is Guido himself. I would've went with the eyes being open and Guido being a little more complex. But since I'm not the one who made it, I can't really complain that much, can I? Overall, very well done, Iris! You can certainly be proud of yourself. :)
Secondly, the swimmer picture. I quite like how you utilized Ducky's parents in this one and the idea is done well in my opinion. However, their faces look a bit weird, to say the least. Nothing major, just something that popped into my head when looking over this picture. The background works very well here as well, so congrats for that. This was also a very good work by you. :yes

Alright, time to go back to coloring pencils! Digital art is a no-go while my thumb is recovering. For the fanart prompt these months I decided to go with my own suggestion and draw the character Sparky as requested by McSaurus on Deviantart. It's a very simple piece, but it felt good to hold a pencil again.

-
If you call this a very simple piece, then I must call it a spectacular piece of work by you, Mumbling. You are really hitting your stride lately with your drawings. There's really not much constructive criticism about this one that I can spot. Quite funny, really, I initially believed this was Cera, but I quickly realized my mistake (really, it doesn't take a genius to figure that one out), but somehow I completely missed that point for a second. I don't believe you give yourself enough credit, Mumbling, as this is one magnificent drawing done with just pencils. :)
-
That indeed is a sweet drawing! The overall look of it works well and the background, while indeed a bit simple, manages to save the picture from looking empty in any way. As for Sparky himself, I'm not a huge fan of his creator but the threehorn himself looks really solid and the expression is quite great as well. I agree with Anagnos that you're improving with every drawing and this one in particular looks nice as a whole. Great job! :duckyhappy
-
Ah yes, classic drawings made with manual labor of love. There's a warm, fuzzy, nice feeling you get with these drawings as opposed to digital creations in my opinion. Nostalgia, perhaps? :)
Anyway, like the others have said already, this is an excellent drawing you have of Sparky the Threehorn. No drawings are truly perfect to the literal sense, but I see nothing to criticize you on really, so good job! The background and the pink flowers scattered about greatly reflects the kindhearted and curious threehorn you drew.
You claim that this is a very simple piece. While true, simplicity is often all you need in a piece of art, and you illustrated that quite well here.
:cerahappy
-
Like it!
Who lewft a scar to him? Is he the dame age as Tricia?
-
Thank you guys so much for all the positive messages!
As for Sparky himself, I'm not a huge fan of his creator but the threehorn himself looks really solid and the expression is quite great as well.
I have to agree here, sadly! I do like Sparky, but don't generally like the work of its creator.
Who lewft a scar to him? Is he the dame age aas Tricia?
I'm not sure where his scar came from! But the author has portrayed him as Cera's boyfriend, so probably their age instead.
-
Ooh another entry! Nice to see that you could join in on this one Iris!
I agree with others that have said that simpler can be a nice choice and it works here as well. Seems like you also went with the request of having Sparky smelling the flowers, nice!
Sparky himself is drawn quite well and the shading is nice too. I think a bit of shading on his horns and such would've helped out as they look a bit flat comparatively.
Nice job with this! :)littlefoot
-
Ohh the horns! See I never even thought about shading those cus they're white. Good point though!
"Just look at the flowers, Sparky" :lol
-
Sparky himself is drawn quite well and the shading is nice too. I think a bit of shading on his horns and such would've helped out as they look a bit flat comparatively.
Nice job with this! :)littlefoot
Personally, I think the horns would be fine whether or not they're shaded. In fact, leaving it completely white made them stand out and it showcases the best part of a threehorn's anatomy. I like that, but I do see where you're coming from though. There's shading throughout the drawing, yet we have one tiny area that wasn't shaded, which would be a bit odd. Also, I would've thought that you would criticize the toenails for the same lack of shading, but perhaps you don't mind that, just like how I don't mind the horns.
And Mumbling, I'm interested in seeing you make more hand drawn creations rather then digital/computer made ones. You are really good at them as shown by your Sparky drawing. Keep up the good work!
:Mo
-
I agree with what everyone above has said. Not only is it a good picture, there's an almost watercolor/pastel-like softness to the handdrawn coloring that would be very hard to hard to replicate digitally.
-
Coloured pencils suit you well :^^happy
Sparky is a familiar character but I think he looks much better in your style than in MCSaurus' style ;)
-
I wanted to join in on last month's prompt. The issues with my thumb have been getting less and I have learned I can draw/edit in short bursts.
"Life is unfair"
What if the flowers came just a tad too late?

It is wonderful to see more art from you, Mumbling, and this one is quite lovely one. This is probably the kind of development that would soon follow after a demise in Littlefoot’s remaining family. The grief is very well presented here and the overall quality is very well done. However, Grandpa Longneck’s tail is weirdly outlined compared to Grandma and Littlefoot’s. And Grandma’s neck appears to stretch somewhat, making the drawing a little clumsy in appearance. But I think those are small errors that can be dismissed in contrast of the overall quality and as I really like the idea behind this one. Very well done! :yes
-
The dark green background is what drew me out, however. It trains the eye on it throughout it's muted color and iris effect (the center is slightly lighter than the sides), so in one glance it seals the deal and highlights the tragedy and futility of the journey to the Land of Mists. The fact that every single color is dark except the Night Flowers vastly contrasts the hope it could've brought with the despair of reality: it really captures the meaning of "life is unfair". I like it! :)
-
Iris here trying to make us look bad by finishing her prompt first despite thumb issues :p
It's good to see this coloured and while it is still a little rough with the line art it doesn't necessarily make it look any worse. I do agree that Grandpa longneck's tail looks a little too unnaturally straight in this drawing. The idea for the drawing is quite dark and would have been quite a dramatic turn in the sequels. Certainly very fitting for the prompt!
Awesome stuff! :)littlefoot
-
:'(
very impressive...
good job.
-
This is truly a heartbreaking hypothetical scenario you have drawn here Mumbling. The dark green background transitioning to a lighter shade creates the perfect "spotlight" for these mourning longnecks. The rough sketch style you imposed for this drawing was genius and it strengthened the emphasis on the hearts that were fractured in this very moment. I agree with Anagnos that the tail of Grandpa Longneck was weirdly outlined. I will also say in my opinion that his feet were also drawn weirdly, as both of them side by side were not proportionate or matching. Other than that, this is an excellent addition to the Hurt/Fear prompt. Great job! :)
-
Thanks guys! I see a lot of comments about the tail, but am afraid I really don't see what's wrong with it (other than that it is a bit wobbly 'cus of the sketch outline). I have based Grandpa Longneck's pose on him lying on his side in the movie, so I can't be THAT much off, right? :lol
The feet though I can totally get behind. I had such issues drawing his legs and feet. They're definitely asymmetrical, but I'm relatively happy with the outcome due to the difficulty of the pose. Then again I'd like to say that I have no intention or desire to create anatomically perfect drawings. I'd rather convey a message, instead of working my thumb to an early grave by correcting small issues like that to an eternity. I personally really like the colors and 'style' (messy sketch) I used for this particular piece, and am much more interested in exploring alternative art styles than creating a spot-on recreation :yes
-
Oof, this would be a depressing fanfic if someone decided to write this scenario. Great work there, glad your thumb is improving!
-
Now this would have been quite an ending for the film. :p The drawing itself looks very nice but sadly, most of the points of critique have already been made. The feel of this picture is extremely depressing and that works perfectly for a scene like this and it was a great choice. My main problem is Littlefoot's face as it doesn't seem quite normal and his eye looks weird. However, the picture is really nice as a whole so good job! :)petrie
-
Decided on something a little bit more cheerful for my next piece. This is my submission for the latest fanart prompt (humanisation). Did a slight twist on the theme by putting our favorite dinosaurs in a human world celebrating a very popular holiday. Happy holidays, everyone! :wub

Oh my! SO SWEET!!! ^^
Love this picture! It raised my pre-holidays spirit!
-
A sweet drawing indeed, Mumbling! The scene is drawn very well and the Christmasy feeling is more than clear. While I know Cera's pose has been adapted from an actual screenshot, she still looks excellent! The other characters have been drawn quite nicely too but Ducky and Littlefoot's face look a bit weird. But overall, that's a great picture!
-
Ah the digital version looks nice and I love the idea! Spike's gift...I hope it sits well with Spiketail digestive systems :p
Cera looks happy with an actual gift!
The framed picture is nice too. I feel like they'd have a picture from each of their adventures.
Speaking of the drawing, Spike, Cera, and Petrie look the best in my opinion. I think Littlefoot might have a bit of a fat belly (something I've done in the past as well haha), though it can be hard to tell with the angle he's at.
Great job! :)littlefoot I'll get it added to the list when I get the chance.
-
Wow, nicely done! Great work. How long did this take you?
I especially love how the photograph on the wall is an actual movie screenshot. There's just something funny about that. :p
-
I second what people have already said. It really is a fantastic piece, Mumbling! It also fits into time of the year perfectly. However, I have to agree with Sovereign with Ducky and Littlefoot's faces looking a bit weird, but other than that, well done! :D
-

Aye, I often use screenshots to determine the character's poses and Cera is just... hard! But I'm happy with how she came out. Completely agree on the faces of Littlefoot and Ducky, though I have no idea on how to improve them (this is what happens when I start drawing freely, lol).
Wow, nicely done! Great work. How long did this take you?
I especially love how the photograph on the wall is an actual movie screenshot. There's just something funny about that. :p
This took me quite a while to be fair. I'd say drawing everything on paper took about 3,5 hours and digitizing it plus adding all the quirks took about 5-6 hours. Most likely the longest I've spent on a piece so far. I really like the photograph screenshot as well, haha.
Thanks everyone!
-
I like the bold and striking colors used in this piece, it really gives it that warm Christmas card feel. :Mo Probably the beige backdrop helped with it.
I do agree with what the others say about Spike, Petrie, and Cera looking the best (their poses and expressions of glee are all great :duckyhappy), but overall it's a solid piece nevertheless. I really like the choice of gifts and the juxtaposition of the picture in the top-right.
-
You didn't even say anything on the discord, evil! :P
Wow, that was a pleasant surprise to wake up to :DD The present ideas are really cute and the poses work too! Really nice job, Iris! :)littlefoot
-
Thanks you two! I'm on a roll, actually got the Jan/Feb prompt done!
Villains off-duty: Sharptooth just had a lovely meal. What is he going to do in his time off? (Other villains also welcome)
I took it quite literally and let Sharptooth enjoy his lovely meal. In the spa.

Now this is a brilliantly made sculpture and the theme is rather interesting as a result. I'd like to imagine that this is how the Sharptooth really would have acted upon catching his meal for the day and enjoying it to the brim. The little added details in the sculpture are truly proof that this must have been one tough case to work on, but the reward is most definitely worth the effort as I've already stated that it looks absolutely fantastic. I feel like people who have unlimited amounts of patience and dedication could do this sort of a thing. Though, I did find it interesting that he doesn't appear to have any eyes. Perhaps he is merely savoring the moment? :p Regardless, well done, Mumbling!
-
da hell? XD He likes mud baths too? He need to hang out with Tria, Cera, Ruby and Spike. XD
Wonderful!

Thanks guys!

Sculpted really well! The mud structure looks really dope, and I like the striking sharptooth colors! :)

Very good. For some reason I didn't know you were into sculpting, but it makes for a unique submission. Is sculpting something you've done a lot of in the past?

This is so cool! It's great to see another sculpture from you as it's certainly a unique entry into the prompt! Awesome job! :chompysmile
One thing though, you gotta stop submitting these so fast. You're making the rest of us look bad :PCera

You didn't know for a good reason! I actually haven't really sculpted anything for the past 3 or 4 years. I figured this particular idea might be easier to realize in 3D than on paper, so I went ahead with it. I started sculpting in 2010 and I think I made roughly 70 sculptures over the years, most of them really small and without a 'surrounding'. This is one of the biggest sculptures I made, since I finally realized you can put way more detail into it if I stop being so frugal :P
that eye...

But that is my evil plan! It is the year of villains after all :evilsmile
-
He has eyes! But he was quite shocked when I took his photo, so he decided to close them instead.
Leave it to the Sharptooth to be afraid of taking pictures. Ironic. :p
-
One more for Sharptooth month! I've decided to start a series this year (we'll see if I can see it all the way through) called:
What if Tickles were there?
I'm gonna pose Tickles with all the villains/antagonists in an iconic scene. Keeping it to pencil only to make life easier for myself.
(https://i.imgur.com/TCGMivD.jpg) (https://www.deviantart.com/claydoodles/art/What-if-Tickles-were-there-Sharptooth-edition-828279552)
I had some issues with Sharptooth's bad eye - just couldn't get it to look right. Almost seems like it is a pupil haha. And for some reason every time I draw a sharptooth they just come out kind of cute. Oh well :PCera
-
This is a very decent work from you, Mumbling. I don't believe I've seen much fanart of the original Sharptooth, and that's a damn crime, if you ask me. Such an iconic character and moment shouldn't be undervalued as this particular moment will always be remembered by the fans as the starting point of chaos in the original film. I quite like how you made this resemble a hide-and-seek game between the Sharptooth, Littlefoot and Cera. Interesting enough, Sharptooth's furious gaze seems to be directed at Tickles instead of Littlefoot and Cera. :p However, the Sharptooth's snout looks a bit funny and overly long, while his tail just seems to disappear from the shot. These small critiques aside, it's still a fantastic piece you've created. :bestsharptooth
-
Yep, this looks really good. :chompysmile The sharptooth deserves more attention and you handled that opportunity pretty well. That sight certainly is a terrifying one for Littlefoot and Cera and you've captured the terror of that moment decently. If there's one thing that slightly bothers me is that he looks a bit short even if I understand most of that is because of the perspective. Overall, good job! :DD
-
I really like Tickles, and the thorny forest surrounding Littlefoot and Cera! It's a stark reminder of the darkness of the first film.
I do agree that Sharptooth looks cute. He's almost like Chomper. :p
-
This is a very awesome piece! It be very interesting if Tickles was actually following the gang, intentional (probably at least after the fourth movie) or not. Like Cera and Littlefoot's reactions. It was as if they were plucked out from the movie. I also think "The Sharptooth" look's cute. :DD Especially since to me, it looks like he was happy to see Tickles. :lol
-
It's great to see another person trying to make a drawing for all the showcases! It's a fun theme that you're going for and it looks like Tickles may have helped Littlefoot and Cera by averting Sharptooth's eyes, whether intentional or not. As for him looking cute, I think part of it might be that his mouth curls up a bit so it makes him seems a little on the happy side. Most of the time angry sharpteeth have it's mouth curl down. It looks great though and I'm looking forward to seeing what you come up with the rest of them! :)littlefoot
-
Thanks for the kind words, everyone! :)petrie

I did intend for Sharptooth to look directly at Tickles, as I thought it would make the drawing a bit more interesting. Cera and Littlefoot are supposed to be side characters in this adventure ;)
Oh yeah, that could be it with the mouth. Then again :evilsmile looks bad-ass while also smiling, so I'm not sure :P I'll see if I can change the sketch a bit to fix the mouth.
-
That is true, I should also mention that :evilsmile has angry looking eyes. Your Sharptooth drawing has the more neutral/normal eye expression, which I think helps towards the more general happy look instead of an evil happy. Who knows though, maybe Sharptooth is just a really big fan of small furry animals? :PCera

*ROARS*
*GROWLS*
Who's a cute, little Tickles? Yes! You are! Good boy!
Edit:
Not sure how much longer the original photo will stay up - but I have revised the drawing a bit. Even with the "mean" mouth and eyes, i still think he looks a bit on the cutesy side... But definitely an improvement. I also cleaned up the lines a bit.

I had some issues with Sharptooth's bad eye - just couldn't get it to look right. Almost seems like it is a pupil haha. And for some reason every time I draw a sharptooth they just come out kind of cute. Oh well :PCera
When I saw the first version of the drawing, I was going to say that Sharptooth doesn't look menacing enough and that it should better match the mood of the original scene. But, upon seeing the revised version, I actually think the cute angle works a little better. :p I guess because it's already kind of a silly concept. Regardless, I do forward to seeing what adventures Tickles gets himself into next.
-
^Who would’ve thought? Tickles being on good terms with Sharptooth of all characters...
Yep yep yep, I’m already loving Tickles’ adventures already! :duckyhappy
-
I wonder what kind of adventures Tickles will find himself in. :chompysmile
-
Tickles decided that those thorny brushes were way too dangerous, and decided to look for another place to stay. After a while he found a couple of other dinosaurs who were foraging for food. Although their taste was quite different from his own, he decided to hitch a ride with the two odd brothers. They never quite seemed to be able to agree on what they should have for dinner, but Tickles didn't care. It was much easier for him to catch insects while on the back of one of these dinosaurs than it was from the ground, and since the brothers didn't seem to care for insects, he could eat as much as his tummy desired. As long as they weren't fighting, Tickles was perfectly content here.

-
Tickles was everywhere! :D
Love this picture! ^^
Judging by eyes and face expressions, for some reason, Ozzy is for green leaves, and Strut is for egg though? o_0
-
Hmm! It's quite hard to distinguish these two without colors, however note that Strut has a dark area around his eyes and Ozzy does not. That should help :D
-
I won't lie. I thought Strut was the one holding the egg up as well. If it is Strut on the left and Ozzy on the right, it is certainly a role reversal of what we expect from them indeed!
I like the juxtaposition between eggs and greens. Left eggstealer has a very Ozzy-like calculating face if it is Strut, and right eggstealer has a whimsical expression befitting of Strut, but seemingly is Ozzy. Regardless, you capture the dynamic between the two eggstealers well! :^^spike
-
I figured it was pretty easy to distinguish the two brothers from each other despite the fact that they look very identical. The one on the left is undoubtedly Strut, and the way he is reaching down to snatch those treestars speaks for itself. His eager look only proves to reinforce it all as he was always quite drawn to anything else other than eggs like his brother. Now, Ozzy on the other hand, is even easier to discern, and I don't think I have to mention much besides his grand obsession with eggs, and by the looks of things this poor fellow hasn't had one in a while. He'll be sure to enjoy that one and I don't think he has to worry about the gang ruining his dinner for him yet again. That is if unless the egg happens to belong to one of their family members again :p
Curiously enough, neither of them seem to be having trouble with sharing this momentous moment together, as in the past, they haven't exactly been on the best of terms when it comes to consuming their food, in the worst case scenario being at each others throats foe eating the ''wrong'' food, although that is mostly due to Ozzy's rather dismissal behavior towards his brother. That and Tickles seems to have a very grand time riding on Strut's back without a care in the world. I think you sell yourself a bit short on your ability to make them discernible from each other, as I had no such problems and your added detail on their figures also proves to lessen the weight of that tremendously. :yes
-
Yeah, I agree it's quite a good picture. As others have pointed out, the two look very similar and to be honest, Ozzy's expression looks more fitting for Strut. Despite that, it's good to see some art about this duo as they were quite amusing characters and the drawing itself is quite solid. And of course, Tickles is clearly the ultimate villain as he's seen with the bad guys far too often... :bestsharptooth
-
Seems like these two have started to get along with each other! Maybe Tickles had something to do with it? :p (Unless Ozzy was trying to stomp on the treestars but got distracted by the egg)
The characters all seem to be drawn well and the expressions look nice. A small nitpick that I might say is that when you're shading I find it looks better when the pencil strokes are all consistently in one direction. I see that there's a couple angles done to shade Strut's back. Otherwise great job! :smile
-
And so the Tickles Saga continues. I don't have any major critiques with this one. It looks great. I especially love Ozzy's excited/deranged expression there. Seems he's quite happy indeed to finally have his long-awaited egg supper.
:PAli
-
I, too don’t have any critiques to put forward on this drawing. The more you have done, the better you have gotten, and the less I have to say about it negatively and more towards a positive assessment each time. Great job! Tickles seems to be very content with his two new friends right now. Hopefully he will return to his love interest pretty soon. ;)
-
Ozzy is in “eggstacy” and doesn’t notice Strut grabbing some leaves or Tickles. :D
-
Great art, Mumbling! You've got a lot of fun ideas here! :duckyhappy I'm looking forward to seeing what else Tickles will get into. :lol
P.S.: Guess we're part of a select few who can tell Ozzy and Strut apart by their eyes. :OzzyAngry I instantly knew who was who.
-
Thanks for the comments everyone! I can confirm that Ozzy has this expression because he is finally going to devour that egg, and therefore doesn't even notice Strut. Exactly what Gentle Sharptooth said! :)
I wanted to make something for the Dil & Ichy showcase, but my thumb has been acting up again (too much gaming in home quarantine, whoops! :P ). Rest assured I'll still make the piece when my thumb is back to normal.

Made a lil' something for the fanart prompt Crossover:

Screenshot taken directly from the game Stardew Valley. Tried to put Petrie, Ducky and Spike into the scene in the game's style. Think I did an alright job, though it could have been better.
-
This looks lovely, Mumbling. :) Though I fear for your crop yield if Spike is sticking around. :^^spike
-
That's so cute, especially Spike eating the garden! :lol I think you did a great job translating the characters to that style. It really does look like they're part of the game.
-
This is awesome! It looks like the characters are actually part of the game! :duckyhappy :^^spike :)petrie
-
Lmao, this actually looks pretty cool! I also like pixel art styles in general, so this is great! Also, good job putting them in their respective environments. ;)
-
You gotta really feel for Ducky as there's not a lot of water on this farm and has to get her fun out of playing in the well :p (unless she's lucky and there's a small pond off-screen somewhere). But yeah, Spike eating up the crops is certainly the highlight of this piece. Looks like there wasn't anything the scarecrow or Petrie could have done to prevent it :SmugSpike
Very cool idea Iris! :)littlefoot
-
It took me a while to spot Ducky, but eventually I did find her in her natural habitat. Or as natural as it can be. :bestsharptooth All of them are in places that suit them well, although I do have to second Rhombus' unease of having Spike so close to the crops, but he likely wouldn't want to be anywhere else. :p
-
Thanks guys! Yes, Spike is certainly enjoying those delicious strawberries ;)
-
I like the color palette you used. Makes them stick out. :p Pixel art is pretty tough!

Good to see you managed to get around to drawing this! I like the idea of this one. Something about having Tickles on Ichy, who is on Dil make this drawing work. Also the fact that Tickles is leading the way so to speak means that this is the first of your drawings where he is actively participating with the villains. Looks like this exposure is slowly turning him evil :PCera
Nice job! :chompysmile
-
@Mumbling Your picture of Ichy, Dil and the mouse is really good.
Have you ever thought of sending your pictures to get a job of an artist?
-
Thanks guys!
Enchanted, no I haven't. I am quite happy with the career I got and prefer to draw as a hobby :)
-
And adventure continues! :D
Good work!
-
Lmao. This is so adorable Mumbling. I never would've thought Tickles out of all characters would lead a pair of villains on some sort of expedition. Tickles is making quite a lot of friends on his adventures it seems like. Good work.

Hoping to get back on track now for this month's showcase and beyond.
-
Even Rhett's mighty tail is no match for Tickles! :rhett_shocked
I like how Tickles is drawn here. Can be tough to make that sort of angle work well. :chompysmile
-
Really nice work, Mumbling! :DD Even if it is a sketch, I also really like how you drew Tickles, drawing at that angle is the bane of my existence. :OhYou
-
It might be a rough sketch (exactly what Rhett deserves), but I'll echo what everyone else said - that oblique angle shot of Tickles is tough! Nice one. :)
-
Aaaand Showcase drawing for Rinkus & Sierra! :)
-
looks really good I really like the choice of colors
-
And here I thought Littlefoot and Cera carrying Chomper's egg with a couple sticks was sketchy :p
Tickles has obtained his new godly powers from the stone and with his new slaves to do his bidding, he slowly flies towards the Great Valley to rule over his lowly subjects :PCera
Nicely done!
-
This is really nice Mumbling!! Gotta love God Tickles :PCera
-
!!!
Now I understood how did Tickles appeared in all movies! :O
Lol, flyer duo spied how gang carried Choper's egg? Good for them that stone of cold fire is weightless
-
More Tickles! Finally felt good enough to get a drawing done for this latest prompt, so I decided to LBT-ify the following book. Here they are side by side

Pencil & ink.
-
What has Tickles gotten himself into this time? :PCera
It's good to finally see something for this prompt. I like how you changed up the bushes on the side to be tree stars! I feel like getting the roots around the stump to look good might have been a challenge.
Also interesting that Tickles is the bard here but yet he never once sang in the movie :bestsharptooth
Nice job with this!
-
What?!! XD
Mr. Tickles contnues to play with Stone' powers!
-
I kinda like the crayony/color pencil look of this. Really spruces up the cover and makes it seems like a children's book! :^^spike
-
This looks great, Mumbling! Like Flathead, I noticed the tree stars in your version right away--nice detail! :Tickles You've done a great job recreating the other elements of the original cover, and of course more Tickles art from you is always a treat!

Here is my submission for the latest prompt: stuck in school. Used my new coloring pencils for this one! Hope you guys like it. Also cross-over with the current showcase ;)

Pretty nice picture! :thicknose
By the way I wonder how dinosaurs can do "dental hygiene" if the most of them are not bipedal :rainbowThinking
-
Ah I was waiting for this one! I actually thought that you would post yours before mine haha.
More wise words from Mr. Thicknose, though not sure if the sharptooth is still alive or is actually dead, as they are referring to the events before it got crushed by all those rocks. Maybe Mr. Thicknose dug him back up to use in his lessons. :rhett_shocked
The new pencils seem to work well! I see you also did a bit of shading with it too, with the area around sharptooth's eye standing out the most. Well done! :chompysmile
-
:lol :lol :lol :lol :lol :lol :lol :lol
Great work, as always!

Oh wow, this is just like the joke I made one time about the next movie being about dental hygiene. :bestsharptooth

This one got a good laugh out of me. Nicely done. :DD

I was taking it slow as my hand has been acting up a bit again (not nearly as bad as it once was, but still, need to be careful).
I wanted the shading to be subtle but also highlight the more important things (e.g. Sharptooth's eye and mr. Thicknose's "crown") ^^

Here's one I made on a whim yesterday!

It's inspired by the different lofi girl images going around. Ducky is doing some homework while egg-sitting, and Spike is her sleeping cat. Of course she doesn't need headphones, because the gang always has music in their heads :p
-
Wonderful! Good work! :D
Huh, Ducky, like Spike, can also make drawings in pre-history world. ^^
And who is that little creature near eggs?
-
:duckyOK Well done!
In comparison with your Ducky from 2008 your 2020 Ducky is perfect!
Looks like she is writing some cypher?
"O", "Ж", "П", "А"
"А", "6", "6" ...
And is a little animal near the eggs -> :Tickles ?

And is a little animal near the eggs -> :Tickles ?
You got it! :D He was very small on the paper so it was hard to get the details right, haha.
-
Really like the soft colors coupled with the hard lineart of the foreground. Ducky looks really cute, and I like Tickle's derpy face. :Tickles
-
Oops, forgot to comment on this. Well done! You did a good job drawing Ducky, and on a really tricky angle as well! :Dducky Gotta love the Tickles cameo as well :PCera
-
@Mumbling More awesome artwork! The scene with the Useless Sharptooth cracked me up! :petrieLOL And the Ducky picture is too adorable!! You really did a wonderful job on Ducky--I've found her to be one of the more difficult members of the Gang to draw--and the background details are great! I love the flyers in formation overhead!
-
This is a pretty sweet drawing. The overall layout works well and I really like the background. The colors and the flyer silhouettes are really, really nice. The chars are good too though the colors in them seem pale but we went through this on Discord. Ducky's beak looks odd but it's quite minor. Nice job overall. :DD
-
Here's a quick one from me for the prompt Color Swap!
I used a background from the actual series as I do not have time to create a proper background myself.
Petrie and Ducky swapped colors... And places!
-
An interesting concept. Funny how Ducky doesn't look too bad in a more brownish hue but Petrie... looks a bit... sickly? Just purely from the aesthetics point of view.
Still, a lovely created piece there Mumbling! Top notch! :bestsharptooth
-
yay a prompt submission! :chompysmile
Looks good! Does this mean that Ducky also stole Petrie's wings? :bestsharptooth
I agree that the colour makes Petrie look under the weather haha
Great job Iris! :)littlefoot
-
XD
funny scene!
Nice one!
(Cursed Rainbowfaces messed up again!)

He does, doesn't he? I think the main difference is that ducky had a 3 part color scheme, whereas Petrie only has a two-part. Perhaps he would look better with some dark green ridges on his back. Plus the color of the beak might not work well with the color of Ducky's body.
yay a prompt submission! :chompysmile

Yes, he also lost his wings, haha.
XD
funny scene!
Nice one!

Thanks! Yes, blame the rainbowfaces! :lol
-
Petrie looks like a duck. :P I like the background and ripple effects! Amusingly, Petrie's color works okay on Ducky given that we see swimmers with that shade of brown.
Also I really gotta get back to my longfic, it literally has the same Freaky Friday flip. :ducky
-
Time for famous "Petrie, don't feel sad. It's alright. Many things can't fly.." speech. ^^
Also, I believe Ducky now is a first flying DUCK in history. ^^

Here is my submission for the latest prompt: stuck in school. Used my new coloring pencils for this one! Hope you guys like it. Also cross-over with the current showcase ;)

Ha ha! Poor 'useless sharptooth' has been downgraded to a teaching exhibit! This is rich!

Thanks for all the comments, everyone!
Here is my submission for the latest fanart prompt:

It is based on the 'Distracted boyfriend meme (https://knowyourmeme.com/memes/distracted-boyfriend)' though I reversed the gender roles.

:lol :lol :lol :lol :lol
waaaaaaaaat
:grandpa
oh lol. Now Grandpa should look at Elsie to match. XD

Haha this is great! Though either Doc is way too young for Grandma Longneck...or way too old if the legend is true :bestsharptooth

Age is but a number ;)

He must either be the oldest Diplodocus or he is a descendant of the original... If so, that would actually be a neat concept. :thinking
Awesome meme drawing! @Mumbling

I made a little Ducky lurking emote for my Twitch channel... For whenever I get animated emotes. Here's a slightly larger version:

Hehe! Nice! :Dducky

Oh beans!I love how smooth this is

So good! I love pixel art!
^^
Love it!
-
This looks amazing! Love how smooth it is, and both versions are clear and cute. I could easily imagine this being used in a LBT video game :')
-
That's awesome! And so smooth, I love it! :duckyhappy
-
Thanks guys! Decided to change it up a liiittle bit!

Wow, Mumbling, that's really cool! :Mo How did you make it?

Thanks!
So this is based entirely on the scene where Ducky is baiting Sharptooth in the first movie. I took a couple of successive screenshots from that movie, cut out Ducky in a square in all of them, and sized those down to 28x28 pixels (the default size for an emote on Twitch). I made a layer with the rock and her hands, which is present in all frames. I then created new layers and copied Ducky's posture for each of the screenshots I took. It's obviously not a 1:1 from the movie, but definitely used it to "trace" over. 26 different frames total, and then just kind of laid them out in the way I wanted to for the animation. All done in Photoshop :)
-
Haha that's great! I need that for all the lurking I do to get those Super Metroid points :bestsharptooth

u have a twitch?
