Party games, mainly, as well as most games that aren't terribly realistic. :p

RPGs without any doubt. I like racing a bit, and party games so-so.

I have.  Never played it though, but it sounds interesting.  I only got Command & Conquer:  Generals (almost completed), Rise of Nations:  Rise of Legends (still playing), and ParaWorld (haven't really started).

I recommend AoM. It is a really great game to play. I'll try to get a screenshot up sometime soon.

I'm more of an AC/AD (action/adventure) gamer nowadays so that's your Marios and Sonics etc but I also play:

RPG - Zelda, Kingdom Hearts, Final Fantasy
1st/3rd Person Shooters - COD, Bioshock, Metroid Prime, Max Payne, Dead Space
Beat 'em Ups - Smash Bros, Mad World

To a lesser extent I play racing games (mainly Burnout). I'm not a huge fan of RTS or Sport Sims but I've given a few of them a piece of my gamer's time ;)

RTS, FPS, RPG and simulation.
Though I don't play that many games right now. I tend to rather either read, write or listen to music.

Yes, I loved that game. :o

I like RPGs, mainly. And I loved Mass Effect, which was a thrid-person shooter RPG. I've played alot of MMORPGs too. FPS is always fun. The best genre is the sandbox RPGs like Morrowind and Oblivion.

Hmm...  Lets see here...  I think I'll have to narrow it down to my three top favorites for both 2D and 3D.

2D:
-Sidescroller/Platformer(Mario, Metroid, Donkey Kong, Megaman X, etc.)
-Fighting(Street Fighter, Killer Instinct, etc.)
-Maze/Puzzle(Pac Man, Tetris, Bomberman, etc.)

3D:
-First Person Shooter(Timesplitters, Halo, Portal, etc.)
-Stealth Action(The Metal Gear franchise, mainly the Metal Gear Solid games.)
-Simulator(The Sims, Sim City, etc.)
