Trumpet, eh? I've wanted to pick up the real deal, myself...
I actually don't even own a trumpet, nor have I picked one up since high school.
I may try playing again someday, but not until I move out.
I actually performed this song on a virtual trumpet, playing on a keyboard. The melody was played with the right hand, while my left hand was controlling knobs and wheels to add in the expression.
Some of the legato stuff, especially near the end, is a bit sloppier than it probably should be. Coordinating the two hands when only one of them is actually playing notes is a little tricky!
If I did this again, I'd try to play it a little more nicely but I'm really happy with this one, really!
*really needs to get an expression foot pedal controller for his keyboard!*
