One thing's for sure, though: If one wishes to know the target audience of the series, sequels, and television series, one does not need to look further than the "games" included on the LBT DVDs, how difficult they are, and their content.
should I even tempt this?
Assuming you actually have any of the latter LBT DVDs, then perhaps some things are best left unseen. The games would only be fun for someone who can count their age on one hand, two at the very most. I don't know about the content of the "15th Anniversary Edition" DVD for the original, whether it's condiiton is as that of the others.

I copy all my dvd's so I don't have to buy them again if they get scratched. :P: I don't worry about disk corruption and crap like that.  My dual layer dvd burner was really expensive though. -_-

this does make me feel a bit bad
sorry, it wasn¥t meant bad or something like this. Just a question what interested me. So, if I let feel you bad, than I am sorry for this.

seems like there are others who also share my dislike for LBT 6, though im not too surprised by this. As for those games on the DVD. Idon't even want to speak of them! I tried a couple of them and immediatley regretted playing them. I've never really hated the songs in LBT (excluding "oops-eeps" and all the times "I feel so happy" was repeated)

I don't think there's even one song in the TV series I could even say I liked.  They were either tolerable or terrible. <_<

There were a sparse few that I liked from the TV series (nothing that compared to some of the pieces in the sequels, though), such as "I Feel Mad" in "The Great Log-Running Game," "What To Do" in "The Forbidden Friendship," etc.

LBT 6 seems to be rather unpopular. Personally I consider it one of the better sequels by Grosvenor. Though I wouldn't rank it as excellent I certainly prefer it to most of the other sequels done by him. It is the one movie in which Grosvenor included something mysterious but let it stay mysterious rather than being as obvious as in case of LBT 7. It was one of the few Grosvenor movies with decent sharpteeth (LBT 5 and 9 being the other two) and I found Dinah and Dana to be an interesting supplement. As for the music, there was no song which I would rank among my favorites, but neither was there any one which I really disliked. There were a few contradictions to other LBT movies (most notably Littlefoot's grandpa's remark about being told Great Valley legends when in the first movie they are all implied to see the Great Valley with their hearts only). The story seemed solid to me. While the legend did play an important role they never explicitly turned the myth into a fact or discarded it as a fairy tale so it was mostly left to us to decide whether or not we would like to consider Doc the lone dinosaur of the legend or just some taciturn loner who happens to be able to deal with sharpteeth.

...until the TV series came along and shoved "The Lone Dinosaur" back into the series as a confirmed being and that Doc was, indeed, him.

or Oops Eeps (I can't put that in either of those categories :p)

Good Times Good Friends always sounds alright, and the We Need A Plan part seems too rock-ish for LBT, but the piece itself is still fairly good

As far as I know, Malte is still too afraid to watch the LBT tv eps after hearing about the one with the return of Ali.

And I still think that the Ali return wasn't botched and that she acted like her normal self.

Another point for me not to be in too much of a hurry to let the TV series alter my view on LBT :bang

I would not have been a happy camper if I never got to learn the real identity of Doc, if he was actually the Lone Dinosaur or not. At least that's one thing the TV series HAS done. Keeping a secret contained throughout the course of a film is one thing (and quite possibly a good thing, at that), but not spilling the beans at the end of the story or during another story is not good writing in my opinion. Where's the resolution in THAT?

And the obvious parody on The Long Ranger with LBT 6 is another mark against it for me. Of course, if we assume that the Lone Dinosaur is "real" on the LBT world, then we can't really hold that against it, but the parody cannot be ignored.

EDIT: Actually, did the TV series episode in question ever reveal it in the first place? It's been a few weeks since I have last seen the episode the one and only time that I have seen it, so my memory on it is not entirely clear.

I made it to 10! woohoo!

I'm ecstatic!

okay.. where do I begin?

first, I finished watching LBT6, granted I first thought the whole 'Lone Dinosoar' bit was too cheesy (I still kind of do) I thought it turned out to be a somewhat decent film.

the films after, I was instantly dazzled by the painted backgrounds and almost Disney quality animation (I thought it would be worst, like a saturday morning cartoon) the 3D effects looked a bit too much in some scenes (Littlefoot running along a tree branch for example)

the songs... oh man... some of these songs I absolutely adored! some I felt like skipping, bu the majority of them were heart warming and charming

I loved the snow! The snowball fights were classic! And I nearly cried when Spike left with the other spiketails...

oh.. I could keep going on and on.. needless to say, I am now a full and very happy fan!

I'll be watching 11 tomarrow, should be interesting :DD
