Deimos nodded as Kire started packing the dynamite into his pocket dimension. Meanwhile, Mr. Bigmouth was setting up the mortar next to the repulsorsled.

"Kire's planning a bombing run by himself," Deimos added as he peered through the scope. He saw crates of what he assumed to be refined metals loaded into a shuttle under armed guard.

Ms. Swimmer took notes. The fact that some of the students were comparing this to what she assumed to be a war to keep Magicfolk from being exterminated suggested that this was far more serious than was being let on. But she needed some more information.

Assuming her visiting professor persona, she approached the students. "Hello," she said. "I couldn't help but overhear your conversation. What concerns you most?"

----------------

Multiple pops were heard at the Innse Gall Dragon Reservation as hit-wizards apparated in. Almost immediately they engaged the dark wizards. Spellfire and explosions filled the air as they retaliated with a mix of spells ranging from the simple Knockback Jinx to the much more powerful Blasting Curse and Expulso Curse. Some even threw in Bombarda Maxima.

Meanwhile, operatives from the Dragon Research and Restraint Bureau apparated in and stood by, ready to subdue the dragons in the event they turned on the hit-wizards. Unfortunately, neither side had the training to deal with Stripetail's crew of dragons, and they defaulted to assuming they were like Pottermore dragons.

"Right now," Captain Carson said. She would have preferred the field trip to be open to all four houses, but Snape had strongly discouraged her from doing so, lest the field trip devolve into bickering.

She then led her group out into the grounds of Hogwarts. As it was early evening, it was starting to get dark, but there was still a decent amount of light remaining.

Mr. Walker/King opened the door to the shipboard art gallery, which while small, had a collection of statues, tapestries, paintings, and all other variety of arts. There were also a few well-dressed guests admiring the exhibits as well.

"Now then, Miss Tan," he said. "Please feel free to peruse the artwork. I'm sure you'll find something to your fancy. On that note, feel free to ask any of us if you wish to acquire a reproduction of anything you see."

He then turned to a well-dressed man with a glass of wine in his hand. "Sir, I'm going to have to ask you to finish your beverage before you enter."

The man peered past King laid his eyes on a portrait of Bunny Vreeland. The famous actress was dressed in her signature red cocktail dress with a fur stole. The expression the artist depicted her with was that signature alluring smile that captivated Gotham men for decades. "That's a reproduction! The real one's in the Gotham Museum of Arts."

"Yes, you are correct," King said. "All the art inside the gallery are reproductions, but they are still very expensive and high quality artworks. As such, food and beverages are not permitted inside."

The man fumed but headed topside. King then turned to Dana. "I apologize for that interruption. I would love to give you a private art appreciation session, but I do have some networking opportunities to attend. Good day," he said as he also headed topside, leaving her with the other guests.

---------------

Melanie's suite onboard the yacht was a luxurious room with a plush bed, as well as a pair of ornate chairs and a desk that each cost more than the monthly paychecks of most Gothamites. The closet contained clothing and shoes from Gotham's high end fashion houses.

"So, what do you think?" Melanie asked as she took a seat on one of the chairs.

Inque's disguise would have worked perfectly, if it were not for a clumsy server who was busy carrying water to some of the exercising toons. He stumbled over a discarded energy drink can that one of the competitors had left behind. Thankfully, he managed to keep his footing but in the process upended an entire bucket of water onto the "GCPD Officer".

"I'm sorry, Off—." The words died on his lips as he saw the clothing of "police officer" run like paint. His heart leapt into his throat as he scrambled to his feet and ran to one of the emergency stations. He slammed the call button with trembling fingers.

As the water temporarily disabled Inque's shapeshifting powers (and she was alone) she decided that the best way to deal with the situation was to dispose of the interloper.

Just before a razor edged liquid tentacle cleaved the man in half, he managed to get out a single word: Inque.

---------------

As was promised, by Commissioner Gordon, some firefighters with their hoses charged were stationed outside Stripetail's home — both as protection from Inque as well as any arson attempts.

There was also the Agni Kai Stadium, which was designed for all sorts of fire sports — magical and mundane. As a result, the stadium was completely built of nonflammable materials and protected by powerful mounted water cannons and a water deluge system to minimize the risk of accidents.

Not knowing who Inque was targeting, the guards as well as the GCPD officers were evacuating to the Agni Kai Stadium. Thanks to the threat being Inque, the stadium's water deluge system was on full blast, forcing the evacuees to run through what amounted to a localized monsoon.

---------------

A GCPD officer knocked on the door to Stripetail's study.

Melanie had managed to keep her secret life as 10 away from Max and Dana. Currently, she was introducing them to her family at the Gotham Yacht Club at the outskirts of the city. The grounds were lush with grass, flowers, and carefully sculpted bushes. Well-dressed guests were enjoying canapes and wine as a string quartet played. Out in the harbor, other, smaller parties were being held aboard the boats.

"Max, Dana" Melanie said. "These are my parents."

King was dressed in an expensive tailored suit that showed off his imposing physique. A tie clip capped with a blue diamond gleamed in the sun. "It is a pleasure to meet you, Miss Gibson, Miss Tan," he said, offering his hand for a greeting.

Queen approached, wearing a cocktail dress that likely cost as much as a car. In her hand was a crystal glass of red wine. "I do hope you two are enjoying the atmosphere."

-------------------

Inque had made her way inside the village in the form of one of the GCPD officer assigned to patrol the village. She saw no sign of Stripetail, just various athletes exercising or practicing.

Regardless, she figured exploring the village would help get her some valuable information.

"Would you look at that," Mr. Bigmouth said as he saw a sprawling combination of a spaceport, mining operation, and military base spread out in a valley below him. He parked the repulsorsled and zoomed in with his electrobinoculars. Soldiers and armored vehicles patrolled the area and some AA gun emplacements were visible. Every so often a shuttle took off from the landing pad.

Deimos set up his rifle on a nearby boulder and peered through the scope. "That must be where Chong's getting his money from. Extract resources from Myaardi, sell to anyone who's willing to pay. Or use the resources himself."

"And our orders are to disrupt it if possible."

"You s---ing me? There's no f---ing way we're going to be able to destroy that with what we've got."

Mr. Bigmouth opened the storage compartment. Inside was a crate of dynamite they had purchased from Fikod, several cans of ammunition for their guns (mostly for Deimos, Mr. Bigmouth, and Ratchet), some extra rifles with ammunition, an anti-tank rocket launcher with four extra launch tubes. The last item was an 81 mm mortar and a crate of shells. "The dynamite might work, but we'd have to fly over it."

It was then Kire landed, folding his glowing wings against his armor. "You were saying?"

Deimos blinked. "Let me get this straight, you want to conduct a one-man airstrike on this base?"

Kire's expression was unreadable beneath his helmet, but the slow nod suggested he was considering it.

"You're ballsy, I'll admit that."

"Right, we need to plan and do this quickly," Mr. Bigmouth said.

He then radioed Ratchet, Angela, Rivet and Sasha. "We're going to be planning an assault soon. Get as much intel as you can and then we'll prepare."

The Saurolophus looked overhead as another shuttle took off. He cursed himself for not packing any anti-air weaponry.

Captain Carson did indeed get a few volunteers. They were gathered outside the Great Hall. Unsurprisingly, most of the students were sixth and seventh year students, but there were a few younger students.

"Remember," she said addressing the students. "we're just taking a survey of the Western Forest to see if there is any illegal harvesting going on. There shouldn't be any poachers or dark wizards around, but if you see them, flee. However, I give you permission to defend yourselves however you wish if it comes down to it: Muggle dueling or spells. Furthermore, I should not have to say this but as it is a protected area, you are not to take anything from the forest. Not even so much as a twig. Are there any questions?"

"Professor Carson," a seventh year Gryffindor asked. " What exactly are we looking for?"

"Anything that seems out of place, be it Muggle or Magicfolk."

----------

Ms. Swimmer was enjoying a cup of Pottermorian tea in the Great Hall. She had chosen to forgo the milk as it upset her stomach, but she found the strong dark tea to be quite enjoyable with some sugar and lemon. As she heard a group of students mentioning something about "dragon products suddenly jumping up in price" and "how dragon heartstring wands are suddenly so expensive", the Saurolophus quickly became interested. She took notes on some parchement with a quill as she discreetly listened in.

(OOC - I assume Skylands, Young Spyro, and Cynder are at the Innse Gall Dragon Reservation and possibly ran into issues with the Aurors, Hit-Wizards, and/or even the dragons?)

Oooh, I like this already. Getting right into the action!

Only thing I can see are the commas outside the quotation marks; they should be inside the quotation marks when they're used as a period. They are not necessary when other punctuation marks are used.

On a side note, Dink: The Little Dinosaur and LBT are tailor-made for a perfect crossover.

Awesome!

I love the idea of the dinosaurs dressed in appropriate clothing!

And Petrie in early 20th century aviation outfit is perfect!

8
Also, I have some other questions.

What is your opinion on the inclusion of a friendly carnivore in Land Before Time II?

Was it planned at any time to include a friendly carnivore in the original film?

Was there anything in the film that you wish you could have removed or redone?

9
Hello, Mr. Krieger.

I have two questions.

For The Sharptooth, I've seen debates over his characterization, whether he was a serial killer in dinosaur form, an animalistic predator, or a force of nature in the shape of a dinosaur. How did you interpret The Sharptooth?

What was your inspiration behind this movie?

Deimos loaded his .50 caliber sniper rifle with explosive ammunition. They looked just like standard ammunition except the tips had a barely visible blue aura. As these cartridges were manufactured in the industrial sector aboard Spire, they were charged to have an explosive punch similar to that of a hand grenade. Of course, this would not have been possible Mr. Bigmouth and Twilight Sparkle's work, research on some old spells that were used at the Battle of Surf Point, and as the rare materials harvested from Weyard.

"We're all ready," Deimos said.

"Excellent," Mr. Bigmouth said, starting up the engine and pulling out onto the streets of the castle town. Kire was flying overhead with his Daybreak spear in hand.

In several minutes, they were out on the plains. Deimos was scouting the area through a set of electrobinoculars that he had stolen from one of the Dreadzone arenas. "So far, I'm seeing nothing."

Mr. Bigmouth was focused on driving. The Saurolophus scanned the areas as he drove. All he could see were rolling green plains populated by various woodland creatures and birds. A few lakes broke up the monotony. He could also see some houses floating on islands supported by clouds up in the sky. The repulsorsled had scanning equipment, but it was packed away.

(Pottermore)

"In that case," Captain Carson said. "I will shortly be excusing myself to gather up some volunteers." She grabbed one of the signup sheets and started writing the information down. The scouting mission was framed as a research expedition to the western forest to study the ecosystem and to gather some of the wood for the next lesson. As an incentive, those who volunteered were rewarded with ten extra points to their house (per volunteer) as well as five points extra credit on the next exam. Of course, she did make it very clear that only students enrolled in her class and had high grades in Defence Against Dark Arts were permitted to volunteer.

Once that was done, she left the room and made her way back down to her classroom, where she pinned the sign up sheet on the door.

The Chrono team might make it to the Dragon Reservation before the others. Remember, it's a huge place, so all three teams (the Ministry of Magic Team, Stripetail's dragons, and the Chrono team) may not meet immediately.

(Ministry of Magic - Pottermore)

"At once, Prime Minister," the department head said. He tossed some floo powder into the fireplace, said the name of his office and stepped into the flames.

He emerged from the fireplace and back in his own office. Auror Smythe was still there, seated in one of the wooden chairs facing his desk. "Auror Smythe," he said, dusting some soot off his robes. "I have a new assignment for you."

The aforementioned Auror looked up. "What is it, Sir?" he asked.

"You will be heading back to the Innse Gall Dragon Reserve and you will collect any and all evidence pertaining to the keeper and his...passing."

A brief look of fear crossed his face as he recalled how the interlopers made mincemeat of the Aurors and even some of the dragons. "But Sir, the interlopers are exceedingly powerful."

"Fear not. We will be reinforcing the reserve with hit wizards as well some Ministry trained security trolls. You and your fellow Aurors will be be arriving via portkey. Now then, I suggest you get prepared."

Auror Smythe sighed. "Yes, Sir." He then exited the room.

(Pottermore - Hogwarts)

Ms. Swimmer did so. She took a bite of the brown bread and drank some of the very strong tea, scrunching her muzzle at the taste. "Thank you," she said. "Though the tea is a bit strong."

"Pottermorians traditionally put sugar and milk in it," Captain Carson said. "But onto more pertinent topics. In addition to what the others had said they will be investigating, I will be taking some of my students to investigation the western forest."

Ms. Swimmer nodded. "I see. Now then, what will my role be?"

"It would look very suspicious if all the visiting professors went on a field trip simultaneously."

"So I stay behind?"

Captain Carson nodded. "Remember, we also want to keep tabs on what the student body and other faculty are up to as well as their opinions. Who knows, with less of the visiting professors, some of the students might voice opinions that they wouldn't otherwise dare to voice."

--------------------------------

(Pottermore - Knockturn Alley)

Even with the heightened security restrictions and Auror patrols, Knockturn Alley was still as unsafe as it ever was with merchants selling items of dubious legality and quality.

And that was where one of Chong's Muggle associates was attempting to pawn off some Fireball eggs stolen from the Innse Gall Dragon Reserve.

Primrose Myrrdin looked at the mysterious person standing in front of her counter inside Myrrdin's Miscellany. The inside of the shop had a variety of used goods ranging from potion brewing supplies to brooms. The person wore a set of mirrored sunglasses, a full-body cloak and a scarf that covered their face. "Do you accept new goods?" The voice was unusual, sounding heavily distorted. Perhaps it was a new spell she didn't know about.

Primrose adjusted her glasses. "Do you see what I'm selling?" she replied, gesturing to a rack of old cauldrons in the back. "If it's usable, I'll pay a fair price for it."

"Well, I have something that I think you'll greatly enjoy." They looked at the windows and the door. "I'd rather show you in a more private area though."

Primrose nodded and flipped the sign on the door to read "closed" and then headed to the crowded backroom with the Muggle in tow. The backroom had some items that were clearly less than legal with controlled potion brewing ingredients and some enchanted Muggle items being the most obvious.

"It had better be something good," Primrose said tersely, glaring at Chong's associate.

The Muggle said nothing but carefully removed a Fireball egg from under their cloak.

Primrose's eyes widened as she gently held the egg. It was warm, almost hot to the touch and the brilliant red egg with the golden speckles were the identical match for the eggs. "A Cathayan Fireball egg?" she asked. The egg shells of this particular dragon variety were commonly used in Cathayan wizardry and had recently become in vogue among Pottermorian Magicfolk. Indeed, demand was so high that legally acquired Cathayan Fireball egg shells (via scavenging from nests after the eggs have hatched) wasn't enough to keep up with the demand. That and some particularly fastidious Wizards wanted whole Cathayan Fireball eggs.

The cloaked figure tilted their head but spoke. "That's the name of it? How much?"

"How many?"

"Six," the cloaked figure replied. "Six thousand galleons for all of them."

Primrose shook her head. "Two thousand."

"Fine, five thousand."

"These are rare, but not that rare! 2,500!"

The figure shook their head. "Getting these was dangerous. I expect that myself and my men be compensated appropriately for it. 4,500!"

"3,000!"

"3,500!"

"3,250! That's my final offer!" Primrose said, crossing her arms.

The cloaked figure nodded. "Deal." They pulled out the six eggs from under their cloak and Primrose handed them a cloth satchel. They opened it and counted up the money. Satisfied they had received their accurate payment, they nodded and pocketed the the satchel. "Pleasure doing business with you."

They then left Myrrdin's Miscellany, flipping the sign to read open on their way out.

Primrose hid the eggs under some loose papers to keep it away from prying eyes.

Deimos nodded as he climbed on the back of the repulsorsled. Mr. Bigmouth took the driver's seat and started the engine.

"Do you have any recommendations on where to begin?" Mr. Bigmouth asked, checking the parameters of the sled's engines and repulsorlifts.

Kire gently landed on the back. "We can look at the plains. Given its flat area, it's likely he's built up a mine or refinery there."

"Well, that's good enough. All ready?"

Captain Carson nodded as she ate her Cymreig rarebit. "Well, that sounds like a good place to start. However, I highly doubt I can bring my students to the dragon reserve." She then turned to both Skylands, Young Spyro, and Cynder . "Perhaps you three could go there? I'll take some of my students to investigate the western forest. Who knows, Chong's forces may have already taken some of the trees."

It was then the door opened. "I'm sorry I'm late," Ms. Swimmer said. "But I had some class related matters to attend to. Now then, what's on the agenda?"

(Myaardi)

Mr. Bigmouth was preparing the supplies for an exploration mission. The repulsorsled was stocked up with weapons, exploration gear and other potentially useful items. In particular, the Dwarf Fikod had proven to be quite helpful, selling him explosives. Deimos was busy checking his rifle.

He then turned to Ratchet and his crew. "So, is everyone ready?"

It was then that Kire approached, his signature Daybreak javelin in hand. "Do you mind if I join? I know this planet better than anyone."

"Not at all." Mr. Bigmouth also checked his messenger back to ensure he had adequate supplies on hand. His rifle was laying on the repulsorsled.

Captain Carson nodded. "Excellent. For obvious reasons I want any of the students accompanying me to be capable of defending themselves. Now, I have to be discreet when asking about their martial skills," she said. "So far, I thought maybe looking at their Defense Against Dark Arts skills would be reasonable proxy."

Some House Elves had prepared a tray of appetizers to be shared consisting, consisting of parched peas, potted shrimp and sourdough bread, and Cymreig rarebit. A few other House Elves prepared butterbeer as well as hot tea with lemon, sugar and milk available to taste.

"Thank you," Captain Carson said, when the tray had been placed.

The head of the Department of Magical Law Enforcement emerged from the fireplace in Prime Minister Fudge's office. "Prime Minister Fudge," he said. "The situation is far worse than we had previously thought. The only survivor of the investigation team is Auror Smythe. From the keeper's notebook he recovered, it appears these dragon hunters — likely Chong's forces — had made multiple incursions into Innse Gall Dragon Reservation. So far, a clutch of Cathayan Fireball eggs had been stolen, and a Common Cymru Green and an Ironbelly had been killed and butchered. But it's likely the toll might be higher since the notebook has no recent entries. I fear the keeper was another victim of Chong."

Stripetail's message had reached the meeting room where Deimos and the rest of the crew were located, courtesy of one of the enchanted communications crystals.

"All right," Deimos said. "It seems we're going to be getting reinforcements from Stripetail and Captain Carson."

Mr. Bigmouth took a sip of his fruit juice. "Do we have an estimated time of arrival?"

Deimos shook his head. "Unfortunately, no. However, he has ordered us to scout for Chong's logistics train and disrupt it if possible."

Mr. Bigmouth drained the rest of his juice. "I presume that involves us destroying his mining camps and the like?" the Saurolophus asked.

-------------------------------------

"I did indeed," Captain Carson said, taking a seat. "I do apologize for the odor." She then listened to Stripetail speak. "Commander, if I may," she said. "We only have so many of us present and while the Spirarian crew would definitely be of assistance, there's the simple fact that they are under a curfew in Esbenshire and there is substantial prejudice against non-Magicfolk.

She then continued. "However, I can assist by having my students and I perform recon missions under guise of research and field trips."

Thankfully, Captain Carson's office hours were finished just as Stripetail had called her. She made her way to the exchange staff room.

Or at least attempted to. Peeves had thought it amusing to land a direct hit with a dungbomb on her, but as she had to meet with Stripetail on a tight schedule, she could not simply change into fresh clothing or wash up.

Of course, Argus was now chasing after Peeves and tearing into him for hassling a visiting professor.

Captain Carson decided to shed her outer robe and conical hat, leaving them on a table. Even so, the scent of the dungbomb still lingered on her. She then entered the room and took a seat.

(Pottermore - Innse Gall Dragon Reservation)

Auror Smythe exited the hut and apparated to where he last saw the team leader. Only to be confronted with the smoldering remains of the armed dune buggy and the empty repulsorsled. And more distressingly, a smoking crater with no signs of either the interlopers or the remaining Aurors.

He looked around and then cast the Human-presence-revealing Spell. His stomach sank as he realized that there was no Human presence anywhere. Sighing, he apparated back to the keeper's hut. It was then he wondered if these dragon hunters had made multiple incursions into the reserve.

He checked one of the logbooks and gasped. They had visited the reserve multiple times, with one visit resulting in a clutch of Cathayan Fireball eggs being stolen. The last entry in the logbook was made several days ago and the keeper had reported that someone had killed a Common Cymru Green dragon with what appeared to be multiple Bombarda Maxima spells.

The fact that the last entry was several days ago and that he could not find the keeper, made Auror Smythe consider the horrifying possibility that the interlopers had killed the keeper as well. Seeing as there was nothing left, he grabbed the notebook, relit the fire and threw floo powder into it.

Shouting out the name of his destination, Auror Smythe entered the campfire and emerged in the office of the head of the Department of Magical Law Enforcement.

"Chief Auror," Auror Smythe said. "I have grave news to report. It appears that the interlopers had escaped, and in the process killed the rest of my team. And...well, there's this..." He placed the notebook in front of the department head. "The keeper has made no other entries beyond this, contrary to the standard protocols. I fear they may also have fallen victim to the dragon hunters."

The department head scowled as he browsed through the notebook. "This is more serious than I thought. I shall alert Minister Fudge at once. Dismissed."

Auror Smythe dipped his head and exited the room as the department head prepared to meet with Minister Fudge via floo network.

Auror Smythe tossed some Floo powder into the still burning fire at the keeper's hut. The flames instantly turned green and he shouted out his destination, which happened to be the head of the Department of Magical Law Enforcement's office.

There, he saw the Wizard in question, a slender man with a neatly groomed mustache and dressed in the classical conical hat of Magicfolk as well as the robes of an Auror, with a distinctive golden emblem that indicated his high rank.

"Auror Smythe, what do you have to report to me?" the department head asked.

"Sorry to bother you, Chief Auror, but we require reinforcements to apprehend some poachers we found at the Innse Gall Dragon Reservation," Auror Smythe replied.

"I will have some dragonologists from Department for the Regulation and Control of Magical Creatures accompany you, if that's what you are asking." The man sighed. "Sadly, we probably can't press charges since the dragons likely got to them."

"Well, the reinforcements I am asking for are some Hit-Wizards."

The department head scowled. "For what? Body retrieval? Besides, our Hit-Wizards are stretched thin as they're enforcing curfews and stamping out Pinkstone activity."

Auror Smythe sighed. "No, for apprehending them. They're killed and butchered a Ironbelly."

"Why didn't you say so earlier!? Right, I'll send over a small squad of five right now."

"Thank you, Chief Auror." Auror Smythe then pulled his head out of the fireplace and brushed some soot out of his hair. He only hoped the delaying action with the team leader and the rest of the squad hadn't cost them all their lives. After all, anything capable of killing and butchering a full-grown Ironbelly was extremely powerful and dangerous.
