What you have is okay so far.

In any case...anyone else? I guess the role-play will start once we get five people signed up.

Yeah, they're acceptable...but I'm not quite sure what benefit(s) they'd have...

Ok.  And one of the rules don't make any sense.  Is there or is there not blood and gore allowed?

Oh, I just saw that. Sorry, I wrote it while it was still pretty early in the morning. Fixed the spelling mistake.

So we've got 3 so far. personally I don't go in for excessive blood and gore, So any violence I engage will be restrained. If violence serves the storyline then so be, But violence for violence's sake is poiontlesss imo...

I didn't expect excessive blood and gore - just a little bit. And I understand about you being restrained and all. But granted, since we have prehistoric creatures of all shapes and sizes running around, there's bound to be a bit of carnage.

Holy cow! Really? That's surprising. Well, now that I've re-read what I've written, I've realized that I wrote that when I was really hyped up about role-playing it. But, well, now the hype is gone, so...um...

Reality has set in    But yeah, you can rp with one other person, in fact its really quite simple. It's a mmatter of give and take. The story we have made basically goes like this : I'm into magic and fantasy, He's into  Star Trek and other Sci Fi.  Sometimes the combination works, sometimes it doesn't.We try and set boundaries (No omnipotent creatures etc) but basically we just let our imiginations have free reign.  What we do is play off each other, and my inbox is fill of pm where we have hashed out question about characteres in the RP.  If you read from the beginning, you'll probably get lost as every now and then we bring back a character or subplot froim 20 pages previous... But It's worked well for nearly 300 pages, and we're already planning a sequel...  So if you care to read it .. be sure to read all of it, or as much as you can. Skim if you want...

YOu may think Threehorn is a good role player.  But believe me, he isn't.  He is extremly selfish when he joins other people's RPGs.  He swooped down and butchered my very first RPG to the point where it was unrecognizable, he changed the appearance of my character without my permission and he took over the story like Hitler took over Europe.  I'm not the only person who's been attacked by Threehorn.  F-14's Star Wars RPGs were also screwed by him as well.

Whatever you do, don't let him join your RPGs.  EVER!

From what I've read so far (I'm currently on page 2 of the Sowarkard topic), I don't think Threehorn is a good role-player. Posts less than a paragraph in length are often the tell-tale sign of a newbie - in the site I usually role-play at, there's three, sometimes four paragraphs a post...or maybe I'm just saying that because I'm used to writing a lot in responce. I dunno.

We've been writing at the RP for over a year... so imo I think we have gotten better at Rp. I'm very even keel. If Threehorn doesn't like something i write, I'll edit it, and If I have concerns about siomthing he wrote I'll ask, either through pm or in Parantheses while posting...

I think it's because he is RPing with an admin.  Because members can't edit other people's posts.  You don't believe me?  Read all 21 pages of my RPG.  It came to a standstill because of him:  http://z7.invisionfree.com/thegangoffive/i...p?showtopic=643 (http://www.gangoffive.net/index.php?topic=536)

You said not to say that Threehorn plays fair because you're an admin.  You already told me.  I'm not WR.

Post by: DarkHououmon on August 27, 2006, 02:27:53 AM
I have to side with Cyberlizard on this one. I too am not on good terms with Threehorn. He forced me to raise the rating of my story, Out of the Shadows, at a point in time when an M rating was not necessary. Normally I wouldn't be upset about this sort of thing, but he had practically threatened me into doing what he wanted by saying he would report the story for a low rating, which would most likely get it removed.

This happened about a year ago, but I'm still upset about it. I had originally wanted to try and keep Out of the Shadows T, but I was forced to change the rating.

No, I believe you, Cyber. I was merely telling you to calm down. In my line of work, Emotions can cloud your judgement, you need reason to back up your arguments... Which you have provided. It's clear that if you create a new Rp, it goes without saying that you will not invite Threehorn to jon..

He's put Star Trek stuff in my Rp too. The difference is,  I allow it, and i adapt. So my character travel on the Enterprise.. and confront the Borg and all that...

Post by: DarkHououmon on August 27, 2006, 02:45:02 AM
No, on Fanfiction.Net, there is an option available for all users where you can report a story directly to the FF.Net staff for a number of reasons. One of the reasons is a rating too low for the story's contents. If Threehorn had reported me, I would have lost the story, so I had no choice but to do what he wanted and up the rating.

The only way to talk to the Staff is through the Help section and the Report Abuse option attached to each story.

To be honest, I don't know. Maybe because I was afraid that it wouldn't work and I would lose my story.

If I was in that  Situation I would have taken  that chance.. and just to be safe i would have printed a copy of my story, just in case the blackmail worked and the story was deleted.  never cow to blackmail, because once you do, that person will continue to blackmail you at every opportunity...

The printer wasn't working at the time. So I couldn't print the story out, so if I had lost it, it would have been gone, and I would have had to start all over again, something I don't want to do with any story.

That's a bummer.  Could you have saved it  to a floppy disk or made a folder for it?  We're discussing possible options you had at the time Option 1- give in and change the story. Option 2 - not an option because printer didn't work. Option 3???
Title: Think 'Carnivores: Cityscape'

We have no floppy disk drive for the computer, though another option would have been to save the files with each chapter in it.

You should have gone that route then... Sure it would have been a pain in the caboose but it's better that having to rip your own story to shreads to save it from being deleted...
