Mo-o-o always lo-o-ove a go-o-od movie/story that details a teacher out there who cares so-o-o much for the welfare and success of their students. I've always appreciated teachers that care and make the journey of learning a worthwhile one, but once Mo-o-o saw this movie called "Freedom Writers" in high school, my respect and love really skyrocketed from there.
So-o-o-o, for today, Mo-o-o is watching this movie called "The Ron Clark Story", based on a true story. As the title suggests, it details the journey of a man named Ron Clark, who taught at an elementary school before going to teach in New York City in the neighborhood of Harlem. He did not like the idea of a boring education, and so when noticing his students are quite bored and uninterested in wanting to learn, making it his sole mission to get them excited and raise their test scores in the process as well.
The story goes further than the movie as well. Eventually, not wanting to just change the lives of one class, but for an entire school, he decides to open one himself! So eventually, he moves to Atlanta and opens one from a building that he converted from an abandoned factory. It is the Ron Clark Academy, a middle school, and it has been consistently been churning out some of the best test grades, and some of the most motivated and great learners ever!
It was founded in 2007, so 1 year after the film, haha.
I will have to note though, it is a private school, with a tuition of about $18,000 per year. They also accept a very limited amount of students per year, around 32 I believe. So unfortunately, this school wouldn't be for everyone. And some of the concepts and ideas in practice at Ron Academy may not work too well at an actual public school, but at the very least Ron Clark's heart is in the right place, and they do constantly offer teacher workshops to external teachers to inspire them and teach them about new techniques that they can bring back to their own classrooms.
P.S: Why does his academy literally look like a real life Hogwarts wizard school? Like it even has dragons! The video below will give you a bit of a tour of that.
Correct: O Incorrect: E, A, I, Y, T, U Guesses Left: 0
The correct word was Worms! It was a game that Mo-o-o-o and his older brother used to play together all the time on the Xbox 360 back then!
It's super duper fun, but it's especially fun to play in multiplayer with family or Mu-u-ud Bro-o-others, yep, yep, yep!
The basic premise is this... yo-o-ou have a team of worms that you and other plays get. The fun part starts with naming them, and the other fun part comes when you get to choose from an assortment of weapons in a turn-based game, and the objective is to eliminate the other worms using whatever you have! Could be rocket launchers, grenades, airstrikes, and... how about exploding sheep?
On an LBT video, I saw a comment about Charles Kimbrough’s background in musical theater, and I was curious about what he did there, being someone who only knew him from cartoons.
@ImpracticalDino With less than half the letters filled out, you got it! My favorite of the popular nicknames for comet 12P/Pons-Brooks...which I recently tried and failed to find through binoculars at its peak viewing time.
Your turn!
Yip-p-p-pee! Nice nickname for comets, Rainbow. Pretty cool to know that "Mother of Dragons" relates to astronomy, now Mo-o-o knows.
Sucks to hear that you couldn't find them during peak viewing time. I hope the time to see those comets again come around soon for you.
It was this comet in particular, which won’t be visible again until 2095, but I’m hopeful I will have chances to see others! Just a question, though, how’d you get the answer without already knowing what it meant?
Anyway—Y?
Dang! Yo-o-ou may or may no-o-ot be still alive to see that comet! Lo-o-oks pretty, both of them. But hey, maybe yo-o-ou got some rainbowface anti-aging device to help with that?
And as for your question, the last two words Mo-o-o immediately knew, hehe-hahaha! It was that first word that Mo-o-o had some trouble with. But after a 20 minute brainstorm, Mo-o-o got the answer! And the irony is, if it weren't for the reduced amount of guesses, Mo-o-o would've just guessed a letter instead of thinking about the whole phrase to solve!
My response is next, I've been preoccupied by tornados and severe storms passing through my state. I'll reply asap but let's please try to keep to the turn system.
Mo-o-o hope yo-o-ou stay safe out there, Mu-u-ud Brotherrr!!! And yeah, no rush at all! Was just asking about the order since Silver already posted (though he already removed his response yesterday, regardless.)
Perfect !! I'll type something up tonight !! So just to be clear, it will go:
Liz, Rainbow, Silver and Impractical!
@TenderlyLiz: Just to be clear, how strict are you with this order? All of us already went once, and Silver recently wrote another post after mine, when I'd assume your post would come after mine.
