General Land Before Time / Re: Did Bron meet Rooter?

When Bron said the stranger had “no word” about Littlefoot, he probably meant that he had no idea what had become of Littlefoot, but the stranger knew that his mother had perished.

First few times I saw Journey Through The Mists, when the narrator said “Still, despite the changes happening in the outside world,” I thought the word “despite” was “De-Spike” as if he was referring to Spike himself  :^^spike

And this next one is REALLY bad  :lol I actually thought Petrie said a curse word in The Secret of Saurus Rock when I thought he said “You guys can walk right ‘cross big *****”  :lol My mom told me it was a bad word and that’s actually how I learned that word  :lol

So The Land Before Time 10: The Great Longneck Migration is my absolute favorite sequel in the entire series, and it’s widely considered the best by many LBT fans. The plot was just so perfectly crafted and the story was made to be an epic adventure. You can just tell that there was a lot of care put into this sequel. Each scene was well-paced and not too long or short, and the songs are actually good and kinda catchy. The animation is dazzling and at times mysterious, which I love. It also has some heartwarming moments between Bron and Littlefoot as they are bonding as father and son. Let’s also not forget the tearjerker “Bestest Friends” which is such a beautiful song. I feel like The Great Longneck Migration is the sequel we all deserved after getting so many mediocre-at-best sequels, and could very easily have stood alone as the only sequel to the original movie. That’s not too say the other sequels aren’t good at all (Time Of The Great Giving is actually one of my other favorites) but the 10th movie is just pure gold as far as the sequels go.

So there’s this YouTuber named Alteori who does Land Before Time reviews, and so far she has done a review for every single movie, and even a couple bonus reviews. While I know many YouTubers will try to trash the series, I like that Alteori is only critical of the movies as a fan. Her reviews are also hilarious and a lot of what she says about certain scenes and parts of each movie are usually exactly what’s on my mind while watching the same scenes. It’s also funny how she names all the characters who don’t have official names. I crack up every time she calls Grandpa Longneck “Gourmet” :lol

The Fridge / Re: Places you want to travel to in life

Would love to visit the Dead Sea In Jordan, Hawaii, various mountain ranges in America (where I live is completely flat), Italy, Greece, Spain, Australia, Germany, Ireland, and my dream vacation destination: Bora Bora

My sister used to HATE when I would watch any of The Land Before Time movies, and would tell all her friends that I liked them in order to allow them to make fun of me, and would even tell some of my would-be friends, so they would think I was weird, and that I wouldn’t have any friends at school. It was so cruel. My mom was a bully and would make fun of me as well and would say stuff like “You’re such a baby!” just because I still liked cartoons. My dad, while not a bully, was old school and was just like “You’re too old to be watching those movies!”

As I got older, I realized I can watch whatever the heck I want. I can watch more mature TV shows like True Blood, 13 Reasons Why, Breaking Bad, and Euphoria just to name a few, all of which I love to death. However, that doesn’t mean I can’t slip a few Land Before Time movies under the radar as well. While the sequels aren’t exactly masterpieces (yet I still love and enjoy many of them), the first one IS a masterpiece and is one of my favorite films of all time.

I have struggled with some very real things in my life (anxiety, depression, mental health problems, and other things I can’t say on here) and watching The Land Before Time movies honestly kind of levels me out.

Watching these movies, even if you have to watch them alone, is not hurting anybody. If it makes you happy, then you should be able to watch them as much as you want.

General Land Before Time / Did Bron meet Rooter?
« on: April 28, 2022, 01:16:34 AM »
In The Great Longneck Migration, Bron mentions to Littlefoot that somebody told him about his mother’s fateful encounter with the Sharptooth. This may just be speculation, but does anyone else think it may be possible that this stranger that Bron met that gave him this information, especially seeing as the only one to witness her death was Littlefoot himself.

Sound Off! / Re: What’s your favorite decade(s) of music?
« on: March 11, 2022, 03:07:24 AM »
My favorite decade of music has to be the 80s. Madonna, Prince, Janet Jackson. The reverb (or echo) of music from the 80s I’ve always found to be absolutely breathtaking. I also love the movies that came out in the 80s.

Sound Off! / Is J-Lo a fraud?
« on: March 11, 2022, 03:03:58 AM »
So it’s come to light in recent years that Jennifer Lopez’s music career is not what it appears to be.

“If You Had My Love”:

First of all, her debut song “If You Had My Love” was actually a rip off of another song called “If I Gave Love” by a little known artist named Chante Moore, the chorus of which is eerily similar to J-Lo’s song. Additionally, if you listen closely, the chorus of the song has a different voice than J-Lo’s.

“Play”:

The chorus of this song was CONFIRMED to have Christina Milian’s vocals entirely, even by Christina Milian herself, while the chorus is J-Lo’s voice. It’s probably the most well known case of J-Lo using someone else’s voice for her music.

“I’m Real”:

I consider this title to be the most ironic, as half the song is sung by another artist. The chorus sounds NOTHING like J-Lo. This song is also an example of how Tommy Mottola, former president of Sony Records, actively tried to destroy the music career of his ex-wife, Mariah Carey. Mariah requested the rights to sample an old song for the song “Loverboy”, which she was working on at the time. However, a few weeks later, the rights were given to J-Lo instead, leaving Mariah to scramble to find another sample to use for “Loverboy”. This was due to Tommy Mottola’s shady business deals to get back at his ex-wife.

“I’m Real remix feat. Ja Rule” and “Ain’t It Funny remix feat. Ja Rule”:

Both of these songs with Ja Rule incorporate Ashanti’s voice in place of J-Lo’s. Ashanti is FAR more vocally talented than J-Lo and it shows in these songs.

“Jenny From The Block”

It seems as if we WERE fooled by the rocks that she’s got. And by rocks I mean stolen vocals. Once again, the vocals were recorded by an artists who surprisingly DOES bare some resemblance to J-Lo’s real singing voice, so she got away with it more easily.

J-Lo didn’t ad lib ALL her songs, however. I feel as though the later songs where she actually used her own voice, her voice is incredibly lackluster. Examples are “Dance Again” and “On The Floor”, in which her vocals are incredibly weak and do not sound as though they come from a legendary artist of J-Lo’s caliber, even though they are her real vocals.

With all this said, I’m not saying anything against J-Lo. In fact, I love J-Lo and her music. It’s still great music, but I still think it’s important to acknowledge the fact that she is not necessarily a talented singer and has made her music career off of using vocals from other artists.

General Land Before Time / Re: LBT Dreams?
« on: February 02, 2022, 01:50:32 AM »
I have had SO many Land Before Time dreams from childhood to adulthood, the majority of which were nightmares about being chased by the original Sharptooth from the first movie, whom I was TERRIFIED of as a child. I’ve had countless dreams of being chased by him, as well as getting caught in the Great Earthshake that followed in the film.

12
So there’s this YouTuber named Alteori who has recently been releasing some reviews on all the Land Before Time movies. I really like her reviews because she is an actual fan of the series, but is also very critical but in a hilarious kind of way. The most recent one she released was her part 1 for Secret of Saurus Rock (she’s currently working on part 2 and reviews for the later LBT movies), and it really got me thinking: there are a LOT of things in the movie that make no sense.

First of all, how did the “Meanest Most Ferocious Sharptooth Ever” even get into the valley in the first place? Did he get in through the “pass” into the valley that the herbivores do? Was there less protection against Sharpteeth back then? An even BIGGER question (more about the Valley in general in ALL movies) is: how do Sharpteeth not even KNOW about this “pass in the valley” that the herbivores use to get in and out of the valley when coming and leaving? And wouldn’t entering the Great Valley just risk accidentally leading a Sharptooth into the valley where he can find meals galore?

Next, the canyon where they jump over the tall rock formations keeps changing between shots, but what REALLY doesn’t make sense is that looking at the view from the Great Valley wall, the way they go SHOULD have put them across from some large hill or dune or something and into a dead end, and the forest was just straight ahead, and it looks like they didn’t even NEED to cross the canyon in the first place.

During the “Bad Luck” song, Littlefoot encourages Spike to join into the song, where he starts scatting along with the song. At the end, Ducky glares at him with her hands on her hips like she’s angry at him, leading him to smile guiltily. WHY is Ducky mad at Spike for scatting during the song? Is scatting during a song something considered offensive in the dinosaur world? Littlefoot had no problem with it, and was even the one who encouraged him to join into the song. Or does Ducky just hate when people start scatting in songs?

These are just a couple things off the top of my head that just don’t make sense about the 6th movie.

The Fridge / Re: Coffee or Tea?
« on: August 25, 2021, 03:40:23 AM »
I love both, it depends on what I’m in the mood for. Coffee when I just wanna wake up and get stuff done, and there are many different types of teas I drink for different purposes. I find that many teas have anti-anxiety properties so I drink those when my anxiety is acting up and I don’t have my medication handy. Ginger tea is also really good for inflammation.

General Land Before Time / Re: WORST LBT Song Ever!
« on: July 26, 2021, 11:14:36 PM »
I just listened to “Oops Eeps” for the first time and it wasn’t quite as cringey as I thought it would be.

H&S from Journey of the Brave is probably the most pointless song of the entire series, it was so stupid and you can tell it was a total filler song.

Peaceful Valley makes my ears bleed

Grandma’s Lullaby gets stuck in my head, so I have to skip it when I watch LBT 4

Creepy Crawlies is just pure cringe

Grandpa Longneck shook the empty tree and treestars magically appeared from the murky ooze onto the dry land, and they attached themselves to the trees, and voila! Treestars!

Why did dreams suddenly become known as “sleep stories”?

The Fridge / Britney Spears #FreeBritney
« on: July 11, 2021, 06:02:40 AM »
So I’m sure many of y’all have seen the news that Britney recently broke her silence about her conservatorship. She’s been fighting it for years ever since her so-called “breakdown” in 2007. Her father Jamie supposedly was originally granted the conservatorship while she was still in the hospital without her knowledge or consent, and has been stuck in it ever since. She has no control over her finances and isn’t even allowed to get married to her boyfriend that she’s been with for 4 years. She has gained the support of her fans as well as numerous fellow celebrities. Not sure if anyone here is a fan of Britney, but I have been a fan of Britney since 1999 when her first album was released.

The saddest song I’ve ever heard is probably “Where Do I Fit In The Picture?” by Clay Walker. It’s probably one of the most heart wrenching heartbreak songs I’ve ever heard.

Silver Screen / Re: Worst Movie Ever!

Rock-A-Doodle is pretty bad, and yes I had to include a Don Bluth one. He made masterpieces like Land Before Time (which we all love of course), An American Tail, and The Secret Of NIMH, but Rock-A-Doodle is just a trainwreck. I didn’t even like it as a kid, I even thought it was stupid then.

Also, for those who have seen James Cameron’s Titanic (no I don’t hate it, in fact, it’s actually my favorite movie of all time), there’s actually an animated Titanic movie called “Titanic: The Legend Goes On” which is incredibly stupid and ridiculous, and the animation is lazy, not to mention the incredibly STUPID scene where the dog starts rapping (because yes there totally WAS a rapping dog aboard the Titanic in 1912)
