Title: A question about posting links
Post by: brekclub85 on July 17, 2011, 09:42:18 PM
One thing I've admittedly have yet to figure out is when one posts a link, for example:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_EC2tmFVNNE (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_EC2tmFVNNE) (The trailer for the last HP movie that came out), I could only post the link by copying/pasting from the taskbar.

But I've noticed how one can post a link without posting the specific website address,

for example, I want to know, using the random link I decided on, how could I post the link as, let's say, "Harry Potter trailer" without the http and all that stuff?

It's quite simple, really. When you click the "http://" tag above the post you're typing, it asks you to enter two things. The first is the website address (which you seem to already understand) and it has to be a website address. The second thing it asks for is what the link in your post should say. In your case, you've simply copied the web address again, when in fact you can type in anything you want. I hope that made sense to you.
