Is there a difference between "stupid" and "idiot"? I thought they meant the same thing.

I don't think they have different meanings.  Then again, why do some people call others a "stupid idiot"?  Are they really calling them a "stupid stupid" or a "idiot idiot"?  I don't know.

Is Topsy an idiot? I don't know. He does certainly have impaired judgment at times due to his emotions and attitudes, notably, the forementioned fire incident in LBT 3.

I certainly wouldn't label Cera's dad an idiot or stupid in general. But there are many cases where his stubbornness and racism drive him into actions which are stupid even though we might """excuse""" them with his racism. Gee, I never thought anything in the world could ever be "excused" with racism

An excuse to wear tall pointy white hats perhaps

As for the differences between the two words

Idiot is like a class or category, a label for a person with a low IQ

Stupid is very often used to discribe something.. like "Wow, that's so mind bogingly stupid!" or "It cant be any more stupider than that!"

you cant say "It cant be any more idiot'er than that" =P

You can't exactly say "stupider" either.  That's not a word. :p The correct way to say it is "more stupid".  Just like you can't say "funner".  You have to say "more fun".

I was aware of idiot as a noun and stupid as an adjective.

Come to think of it there are cases in English were adjectives are used like nouns. There is a case in LBT 3 for example.
Petrie: "How we find water Littlefoot?"
Littlefoot: "We smell for it silly."

As for the worst animation, I would have to say that #7 was pretty bad.  It didn't seem like any effort was put into it.  I also don't like the fact that they never remastered LBT 1.  It still looks like my old VHS Cassette even though it's a DVD! <_<

That's not exactly proper english.  If you want an example of proper english, and LBT movie is not the place to look for it. :lol

Aye, but it is the type of English one would come across in real life colloquial discourse as well.

True enough I suppose... :)
