If you don't know how to replace your drive, it's very simple.  Look up a little something called a "service manual" for your model of computer.  It includes pictures and text which make servicing the thing a breeze.  Back when I was first getting into internal computer repair I used those service manuals all the time, but since then I just do it without one.  That is, unless there's a big problem that I don't know how to solve.  Once I had this computer that you had to remove the front cover to in order to get the CD drive out and I couldn't get it off.  I had to look it up in the service manual and there was a small little release switch in the BACK of the computer.  Who'd look there??? Well, it was easy after that.  I wish you the best of luck.  Hope it wasn't really a software problem otherwise the new drive won't work either.

Well, of course I guess I'd be more likely to have to take apart a weird computer.  I mean, I see at least 10 different computers every day.  That's 3650 different computers a year!  Well, I have seen the same models before in the same year, but they usually have different specs.  Besides, when ya see so many different computers, you don't remember every one you've seen. :p
