Has anyone heard about this movie? I just found out about it today. Kind of a weird concept (from what I heard from rumors the dinosaurs had survived in a tropical paradise buried deep in the ice) but I may go see it.

Didn't just about every dinosaur bite the dust before mammals existed?    So do we go back in time or something?

Mammals were around when dinosaurs existed, although they were all small.

But yes, dinosaurs were all gone before creatures like mammoths existed. I don't really know how they are going to work dinosaurs into the movie. I saw the teaser it it looks like they are indeed hidden under a sheet of ice or something.

But it doesn't make that much sense. How could tropical conditions be maintained by a sheet of ice?   Guess we'd have to wait until it gets closer to the release date to find out.

It sounds rather odd indeed. I never saw the English version of Ice Age 2, but in the German variant Manny left no doubt that in the "world of Ice Age" dinosaurs were extinct as well. I guess dinosaurs sell which is why they are brought into the movie. This alone is not enough, I think, to speculate about the quality of this movie while it is in preproduction. I like the first two movies.
If they're gonna have dinosaurs in the third, I have some vague idea of some of the hardships Scrat (the Saber-toothed Squirrel) will run into in his eternal acorn hunt  :lol

Do you mean the movie is fake? If so, then you wouldn't be the first one to think that. I thought it was fake too. But there is actually a trailer that exists. I forgot to post it.

And isn't IMDB (the original source) supposed to be somewhat trustworthy? I would be surprised if that was a hoax.

I can't wait for it to come out (if it does). I'm a fan of Ice Age, and not to mention i love Dinosaurs! I can't imagine what the plot for it would be, but overall i'm happy there's going to be a 3rd one. :yes

I heard there was a second, didn't know it had already come out and they were working on a third.  I guess being in ice and thawing out is one way, another is the often used, secret valley area, hollow earth ideas.

My bet is that somehow Scrat's chase for the acorn will somehow cause the end of the last dinosaurs in that movie. I heard about one clip (not part of any movie) in which Scrat caused the breaking of continental plates with his acorn.  :lol

Oh no... not another Ice Age movie. I enjoyed the first, could just about bear the second... why can't they just leave a film alone? (Money... should have known).

It's like Shrek, the first film, great, but each sequel gets progressively worse. I don't think I'll make too much of an effirt to watch this.

Many say the same about the land before time. What is it that you found so hard to stand about Ice Age2?

I agree, Malte. I want to ask the same question to those who dislike all the LBT sequels. Anyway, The plot i most likely think will happen is the dinosaurs being frozen and one of the main characters finding them and then they unthaw or something. But hey, that's my guess.

I'm not sure, but if they did that there are bound to be protests as the "unfreezing" of older creatures had been there in Ice Age 2 already. The clip which Kacie posted seems to support the "secret valley area" theory.

The fact I can enjoy the sequels to Land Before Time is that I truly loved the 1988 release , and that instilled a love of the characters into me. I simply "enjoyed" Ice Age, which meant that any subsequent films would have to stand up for themselves, so to speak.

Plot-wise.... I think anything could happen. On the side... what on Earth does Diago eat now he's friendly to them?

Hmm, i think that part of this "Ice age" shall be worse that previous. I think it will not differ from other monotonous computer cartoon films such as "Horton", "Surf's Up", but i wait this film very much, because it's my first computer cartoon film that i have seen.

Horton was an awesome movie...but that's for another topic.

I saw the trailer when, hey, seeing Horton, and thought to myself, "Waaiittt a sec..."
I could have sworn in the first one that the ice age ended and something like 10,000 years passed or less, meaning Manny and his pack would be dead... then the 2nd one came out.
If they dont add the female mamoth in the 3rd one (Ellie was it?) I'll be sad...what a way to drop a character.
